OT: Drastic Measures
Mudflats Central just had a foot of fresh snow. And now, the national weather service said another storm is on the way and we can expect another foot at least.
This is April. And yes, I know this always happens. But the groundhog promised an early spring this year.
Oh, great. And now we have to live with it. Shoveling, plowing, sliding, trudging…
It has to stop. We’ve had enough. Steps need to be taken.
It’s called Winter, ….do try to get over it.
It’s called complaining about winter. Do try to get over it. 😉
Punxatawney Phil lied, one of his first cousins(three states removed) paid the price in mikey’s garden last Friday.
🙂
Reminds me of “prophets of doom” and “snowman house of horror ”

Spring is surely playing peekaboo this year.
Mountain is creaking and groaning sending small ‘lanches down but not the whoppers which mean the icefalls are giving way to waterfalls
Cold winds off the icefields and out of the Yukon refreezing the ground over and over
I did see the first fireweed poking through the ground against a south wall this week so maybe, just maybe, we’re getting there.
Suicide by hot water bottle….sigh…..if only. Those were hilarious!
I’m playing with fire here, cuz Pi is gonna track me down with a garden hoe and smack me one, but… my tomatoes have blossoms already, the string beans and cantalope have sprouted, the raspberriess have leaves popping out and it’s suppose to hit 80 again this week,,,,,, Ben limping towards the hills, , Pi in fast pursuit…….
I’ll be right there with Pi! My landscaping plants started coming up in Feb. They’ve now been refrozen and resnowed on a few times. The Magic Tulip better survive this! Responding late, but we had 4 inches of new snow last night and it’s snowing now and we’re supposed to get a couple more inches by tonight…
InJuneau-
I KNOW- totally sucks ! chives, rhubarb, tulips, daylilies, multiple kinds of primrose, iris, – all in danger of expiring with the many re-freezes.
And ben- we’re hot on your tail buster buns! 🙂
Still haven’t put the taters in the ground… going nuts pulling dandilions outtat the yard! time to thin the cantalopes and plant 2nd session of string beans. tough to do while looking over my shoulder all the time… that Pi… she’ll just sneak right up on ya!!! Thank goodness I’ve got Guard Cats in the yard !!!
My brave li’l Texas onion plants had two and a half inches of rain, pea size hail, freezing rain, five plus inches of snow and sub-freezing temps all in 48 hours. Guess we will find out just how tough they rilly are.
Yoicks!!
Trial by everything except fire.
Hoping snow acts like insulator and lil onions hang in ther!
Looks eerily like one of the fish from down deep near Antarctica that has no hemoglobin in its blood so the blood runs “gin clear”. Read about it yesterday. So now there are two known critters that don’t bleed red. Guess that also explains the sickly white color of its skin. Don’t send for iowa EMTs as too many are getting busted for being drunk on the job.

Look ma no scales,neither.
Snowcreature abuse! I’m calling PETA!!!!
