Levi Johnston on Palin’s Resignation

To the surprise of many, Levi Johnston has more than once proved to be the most level-headed person in the room when it comes to many of the trials and tribulations of Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol. So it’s interesting to hear what he has to say. Remember that Levi says he was living with the Palin family from early December through mid-January. They say he wasn’t. He says he had all his stuff there and slept there.  They say he wasn’t living there.  He says, yeah…whatever.

Levi decided to pipe up today and give us the reason he thinks she qui….”stepped down.”  According to his attorney Rex Butler, people want to know the real reason, so Levi decided to give his take.  So, what does Levi think is the real reason for the resignation?   Money.

He claims he heard the governor several times say how nice it would be to take advantage of the lucrative deals that were being offered, including a reality show and a book.

“I think the big deal was the book. That was millions of dollars,” said Johnston, who has had a strained relationship with the family but now says things have improved.

meg2

“It is interesting to learn Levi is working on a piece of fiction while honing his acting skills,” Palin family spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

So much for things “improving.”  Is it actually possible to use venom to write an email?  Apparently she tries.

And wait a minute…..(screechy brake noise)….  Did he say a reality show?  Sarah Palin?  Now that’s something I’d like to see.   Strangely, Johnston himself is in talks about his own reality show, and his own book deal.  Please, just not Meg.

A reality show would be just the thing with all the Palinisms, kooky family members and friends, and the totally incongruent lifestyle of pretending to be a classy person, but so low class! And let’s not forget how appalling it is to watch her carry her baby around like a sack of potatoes. No, I am not criticizing Trig. I have a son with a disability too, and am disgusted by the way she treats that kid. Maybe the first episode should be “:Sarah Meets the Pope” and they can discuss procreation, birth control and abortion issues. That would really be interesting.

Peggy Noonan finally tells the truth about Palin! Finally. I strongly recommend going over to read.

Great article. Go Peggy. She started out saying SP was not qualified and then kind of stayed quiet for awhile. I guess now there is enough out there where she can’t stay quiet.

Having been tangentially associated with the beauty pageant circuit back in the day, I am convinced that Palin was truly miffed she was not selected as Miss Alaska and has never gotten over it. But now that she is by acclamation Ms. Alaska, I think her quitting as gov is her way of moving up to the next level of the pageant.

  9. reptillian says:

Is Meg Bristol Palin? That sure looks like Bristol on the front page.

When do you think the “followers” will figure out she is just cashing in on them and has no intention to run in 2012. So those who have written about being in her cabinet will be especially dissapointed.

P.S. Thanks for the link to the Stapleass article.

I think we should all post over at Peggy Noonan’s site—if you haven’t done so already. Last time I checked, she was getting hammered by Palin fans. Granted, they are kooky posts, but it seems that many are afraid to say anything bad about Palin for fear of the backlash. Maybe some anti-Palin posts have hit the site, but last time I checked, the crazies were out.

Oh wow. Good thinking. I kinda hope she does make an offer (no, she’ll never ok letting go that kind of money, not to Levi).

But if she did! If she did, just maybe they could throw on one extra little chapter, or an epilog before publishing it.

So Levi was living with the Palins in Dec-January before Sarah was picked?? And he was also living with them this past December-January? The timing is interesting and I have to wonder if he is going to tell all (babygate)? It seems so.
I wonder what it will take for her supporters to see what a phony she is. So anyone, is that what he is saying? That he lived there twice?

There is also a story about Levi in the national enquirer where it says he is going to tell all. It’s the national enquirer yet weren’t they the ones who broke the Edwards story? I actually think the MSM hasn’t been hard enough on Palin. They haven’t asked her tough questions.

The Sarah PAC supposedly is only for those who ARE campaigning for office. If she does not intend to run, she can’t have the PAC. Originally it was set up to cover travel expenses out of AK and not on AK business or so they said.
And the “trust” fund for her legal bills, since the State has already paid those, how can she claim she has such a need?
Her own $500 K bill might be the one that was sent from the Texas Lawyers who were sent to AK
at the start of her campaign to quash any “bad news” that might come out. When she got the bill, she forwarded it to the McCain camp…and they sent it back to her! That probably really burned her…so she “will campaign for anyone, no matter what party”…hint hint, I will campaign for McCain’s opponent ?
It would be so fitting for Levi to be the one that comes out of this with a contract and some success as he seems to be the only HONEST person in this mess. It is/was not smart to go to battle with this 18 yr old child, not suitable for a gov.
Her children are “off limits” but Mrs. Johnston’s children are not?
Isn’t there some kind of record once one appears on the cover of TIME mag? I think that is the beginning of the end, that this is the peak, the rest is down hill. It just feels like she is fading faster than a snow cone in 80 degree AK summer. The book had better hurry or they’re going to re-think that contract too.
Abort gov term in 3rd tri-mester, abort book in 3rd chapter?

OK, I keep trying to come up with snappy titles for a Palin reality show but I just can’t. However two reality shows come to mind when I think of a Palin reality show scenario. #1- Tila Tequila, plot being a cute little asian girl who happens to be bisexual & her dating life or something like that.
#2-LA Repo, one of the scariest shows I’ve ever seen, it’s like watching the Palins, such a train wreck you can’t look away. Plot is a creepy East LA family that repossesses vehicles in the middle of the night in scary LA neighborhoods. The very large bleach blonde pierced sister is the creepiest woman you’ve ever seen & pretty darn tuff too, she could take on Dog the bounty hunter’s woman! Ireally don’t watch these shows often, the 16 yo makes me, I really only enjoy Jackass….Johnny Knoxville is sorta hot in a bad boy way.

  33. austintx says:

    KaJo –
Thanks for the Enquirer links. They have been duly forwarded. I’m sure in response , I will recieve nasty jokes and pictures about our fine President. SIGH
And as far as Ms. Dunbar , Perry is staking out as far right as possible to try to beat KBH. That’s why sarah is being brought in to rile up the wingnuts. KBH can get real mean , so this should be fun to watch.

  34. NY Dem says:

Also. Too. I may have missed this because there is just too much to keep up with here at the Mudflats recently, but what if Palin “withdraws” her resignation before the 25th. ??

Can she even DO that ? Is the resignation written in stone, once she says it; or can she back-pedal (she’s REAL good at that !) ??

  35. NY Dem says:

Be sure to point out to your redneck sister that the “banishment” was not for Bristol Palin’s pregnancy with Tripp, which progressed (…heh…) theoretically from ~March 2008 to December 2008. Bristol didn’t tell her mother the instant she got pregnant with Tripp, only later when she tested herself and found out, and by then SCHOOL WAS OUT for the year.

So, you know that the “banishment” reference is for an earlier pregnancy, an earlier school year, and the period of time Bristol has never been actually seen in Wasilla, from approximately December 2007 to March 2008.

Does she benefit personally by being coy? Where does all the money go if she decides NOT to run in the future? I don’t have the answers to these questions. Anyone?
    _________________

    Bueller here… ha!

No clue where the money will go, but I have a hunch where SP is going to try to steer it.

As for “being coy,” I think she does benefit. We humans are mighty curious critters, and if there’s something that is teasing us, we’re going to hang around until we figure out that it’s really not worth the wait.

Kinda like trapping a monkey with a narrow necked jar full of rice (or something). Monkey sticks his hand in, grabs a handful and tries to get the fist out of the jar. Oops! Caught.

Although I think SP would rather be pictured as Scheherazade (sp!), telling a story right up to the edge of the cliff, then leave us hanging until the next time.

I think more and more of us are realizing that the so-called reward is so very pitiful that the only people going to “wait on Sarah” anymore will be the adoring puppets. Enablers, all of ’em.

  42. mt says:

There was a small article, not from any major news source, that Sarah Palin had
“racked up more then $500,000.00 in legal fees and the state has poured 2 million dollars of tax payer money into investigating the complaints.”

“just last month her handlers made a plea for supporters around the nation to donate money to her legal defense fund”.

This is not a women that is supposedly in ‘legal trouble’.
She had ethics complaints because of her “behaviors”. But since everything is everybody else’s fault, everybody else should pay for it, right?
Love those republicans, don’t want to pay taxes, but will chip in because Palin was an ethics violator!!!

Who knew that 5 yrs later, I’d find out the story-behind-the-story on this: A suburb here wound up with 4 out of 5 extreme so-called Christians on the local School Board. I think they wound up tossing one on some technicality, and calling a special election to get rid of 2 of ’em. The parents were *not* amused.

Maybe there is someone upstairs at TIME is now screaming, “what have we done?” I hope so. And that the echoes of the screams follow them as others cancel too. The comment that really punched my buttons was the one following the quotes by Meg Stapleton “whether is is true or not,” (referring to the implications that the White House is involved in media attacks on Palin. I just cannot believe they would allow that to be published. Maybe when I calm down I could see some humor in this and actually think, “how dare they take the blame (credit) away from us bloggers?”

    * ** * ** * ** * ** *
Right. Was Levi polled about whether he wanted SP to run for VP, given even half a chance to weigh in on what it might mean for him, and Bristol, and their baby? No! Talk about who’s a victim here, Sarah made her own decision but Levi had no choice but to go along or incur the wrath of not only his potential bride, in-laws, but the entire Republican party it seems! What 18 year old is going to be able to stand up to that?

In FantasyLand, I see Levi making good on some book or TV deal, returning to Wasilla, and sweeping Bristol off her feet. They run away in the middle of the night, with Tripp, and set up home in Pasadena CA.

    Awww….

    Addendum to austintx:

The point of referring your sister to the National Enquirer story is, of course, if she so readily believes a story that Obama is gay that she read in the National Enquirer….she should just as readily accept a story that Bristol Palin is the mother of two infants born in 2008, not just one, because THAT story is reported in no uncertain terms in the National Enquirer, also (too).

When I gleefully called her about the resignation , she said “At least she’s not Gay like Obama” I asked WTF she was talking about , and she said “IT’s in the Enquirer”
Now , how do you argue with that ??

Easy, austintx. Refer your redneck sister to the September 10, 2008 issue of the National Enquirer for that story on the Palins,

particularly the paragraph that says, “When Sarah found out the teen was pregnant by high schooler Levi Johnston, she was actually banished from the house. As part of the cover-up, Palin quickly transferred Bristol to another high school and made her move in with Sarah’s sister Heather 25 miles away!”

The next time SP has her nets in the water, she’ll be fishing out Levi face down with salmon shoved in each orifice.

    hedgewytch: Good questions.

As a private citizen, at the end of the month, what happens to her PAC, Meg, and to her legal fund? Are those things that can stay in effect and still raise money?

I’m guessing that as long as she continues to float the idea that she is running, she can still accept money from the public and do fund raising her herself. I think Mitt has a PAC for fundraising efforts. Anyone know the law on these things?

I tend to believe Levi that Palin will cash in on her opportunity and I’m sure it was discussed. However, I can’t dismiss the odd (putting it mildly) press conference. The last minute rush, the timing- right before the holiday weekend (best day for bad new to be released), Palin’s manic, breathless and incoherent speech—-they all add up….to something.

I don’t know what happened—but I believe that something happened.
If she was so excited about her “higher calling”, why the sense of panic?

Maybe we will never know….hopefully we will, but that did not seem like a well thought out and planned event.

  71. hedgewytch says:

I guess Levi isn’t too concerned about his “relationship” with the Palin’s; I just hope that they don’t punish him by denying him time with his son.

As for Meagan the Mouth, what will she do when Sarah is out of office? Does she have a new job lined up as Sarah’s personal assistant? And I’d love to read her job description for what she’s doing now….. “Chiefly responsible for defending my Queen from any and all real and percieved threats to her Queendom by rabidly attacking everyone (as long as the camera’s and microphones are pointed in our direction) with sarcasim, threats, and blatent lies.”

#181 Trisha, I agree, it’s really, really scary…I live in the bastion of intolerance
& idiots around here have sliced off the McCain from their McCain/Palin bumper stickers & cruise around proudly. I was behind a truck a few weeks back that had a sticker that said “Impeach Obama Lynn Baden” on the tool box part of the pu bed. When I got along side the truck to flash the occupant a stinky eye I noticed it was a business vehicle. I refrained from the dirty look & instead jotted down the phone number. When I got home I called the local business and told them I didn’t know if they cared but one of their company vehicles had an offensive bumper sticker. It turned out I was speaking to the owner’s wife, I gave her the license # & said I didn’t know what her political beliefs were but that if that pu showed up at my house to do a job I would ask them to leave. She told me she was having a company meeting that afternoon & that I could be assured she would be dealing with it. Even here (in pastor ted/ focus on your own d*mn family land) ) people are worried about keeping their businesses going more than allowing some clown tospew his political beliefs on their vehicles. There is hope.

Levi is correct! The following is what a republican columnist, Peggy Noonan, who has been “around for years” , has pointed out as the truth of what Sarah Palin is. ” pure confection, she may as well have been a bon bon”

The only thing Palin CAN do is cash in on her chips before it’s too late. Palin has been exposed by her own party for all she lacks, even Schara knows she has no real future on the national stage.

IF she ever decide to run in the primaries can you IMAGINE what the right would do to her?

Obama was more than kind to her.

Every nasty thing you have ever read about her, with the most evil of twists would bring her down in 5 seconds.

Stapletounge would have a meltdown, as she is as inept as her boss.

    A Farewell to Harms

In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool. She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them. She couldn’t say what she read because she didn’t read anything. She was utterly unconcerned by all this and seemed in fact rather proud of it: It was evidence of her authenticity. She experienced criticism as both partisan and cruel because she could see no truth in any of it. She wasn’t thoughtful enough to know she wasn’t thoughtful enough. Her presentation up to the end has been scattered, illogical, manipulative and self-referential to the point of self-reverence. “I’m not wired that way,” “I’m not a quitter,” “I’m standing up for our values.” I’m, I’m, I’m.

“Now she can prepare herself for higher office by studying up, reading in, boning up on the issues.” Mrs. Palin’s supporters have been ordering her to spend the next two years reflecting and pondering. But she is a ponder-free zone. She can memorize the names of the presidents of Pakistan, but she is not going to be able to know how to think about Pakistan. Why do her supporters not see this? Maybe they think “not thoughtful” is a working-class trope!

“The media did her in.” Her lack of any appropriate modesty did her in. Actually, it’s arguable that membership in the self-esteem generation harmed her. For 30 years the self-esteem movement told the young they’re perfect in every way. It’s yielding something new in history: an entire generation with no proper sense of inadequacy.

Here’s why all this matters. The world is a dangerous place. It has never been more so, or more complicated, more straining of the reasoning powers of those with actual genius and true judgment. This is a time for conservative leaders who know how to think.

    Yup, what lonnie said.

Could Levi have heard it wrong? Sure. But it’s the simplest reason. Occam’s razor usually rules.

IMHO, Sarah pretty much liked shopping in NM and SFA, as opposed to the ANC shop she claims she bought her duds at prior to being tapped as the R’s VP candidate. There is the “I have to think of my kid’s future” argument too.

I’m betting her house in Wassilla becomes a seldom visited pied a terre in the 49th State, and she, Todd and the kids are calling Central Park West home in a New York minute. Or, maybe LA, depending on where her news commentary/reality show/talk show is based. She ain’t gunna be broadcasting from Wassilla if she wants 1st quality quests, that’s for damned sure.

Time mag just wants the $$$. It’s all about the $$$, that’s why journalism has died basically. Ratings = $, salacious news stories = $. Palin reality show = $
    ————-

Journalism is tricky. I was just reading responses from judges (from a statewide comp I entered several articles). Almost every article comment says “could have been longer” or “could have had more debth,” yet, editors everywhere will say, NOT, reader want short pieces, easy to read, no attention span for details, etc. I cannot tell you how often my work gets cut (there goes the depth…)

Thus, a quick write for a BS Time piece so they could put her face on the cover and make $$$ without taking up gobs of valuable space.

  107. Terpsichore says:

We already know the ‘I quit because it costs you, Alaskans, millions of dollars” is a fat load of hooey.

She still claims she’s going to work to help Alaska, has some ‘higher calling’, and that’s why she quit.

So, that Rex Butler guy is a pretty sharp cookie. He has Levi go out and tell what I’m sure is the truth, because the truth is the only thing he’s got. (I’m sure Rex told him “make sure everything you say is the truth, that you’re calling it like you saw it. Get caught in one lie, and this gigs up”). So Meg practically calling him a liar is particularly grating. But look at all the things his coming out with info now does:

    1) Levi letting this out now is a great teaser for his own book.

    2) Since the part about the SP book deal has already happened, how can Palin say he is lying? She really WANTED to just be governor, but now believes writing the book is what’s best for Alaska and the country? (If she comes back and tries to use that lame excuse, I hope she’s laughed off every dias on her book sighing tour).

    3) If SP really did resign to pursue this ‘higher calling’, then … we should be seeing evidence of this within I’d say no more than a few months after she leaves. If not, it will appear as if she was being less than truthful in her resignation speeches.

    4) If a reality show materializes for Palin and/or family (or any TV deal, really), then it pretty much proves Levi was correct.

Seems a smart strategy to me!

  112. mae lewis says:

Say No to Palin (previous thread) referenced those boxes of unopened mail. The speculation is whether Sarah declared the money at the time received or when she actually gets around to opening the envelopes and depositing the checks. Well, since this is just between us, start counting on your fingers. I would guess that the majority of the checks rolled in September, October, maybe November. (Help please, I don’t remember when the PAC or Fund was set up, but I’ll guess by January). So here’s the secret: How long can you hold a check before depositing it??? My bank gives 6 months for a personal check; cashier’s checks, bank checks and money orders may have a longer shelf life. Any banking experts out there? Can we guess at how much money is sitting in unopened envelopes? Did some of it “expire” just waiting for Sarah, the private citizen, to deposit it? And how about that pesky “can’t profit from office of governor for two years thereafter” concept?

And, where is the IRS regarding the travel reimbursements. Sarah was repaid alot more than $8,000+ for her children’s travel. She didn’t give the money back; someone else paid her bill. So, she profited $8,000+ undeclared income (unless she decides to declare it and pay tax on it).

Buttercup keeps Smeg around because it’s like looking in the mirror – a mirror who reflects back to you what you always want to see and hear about yourself. They go back a long way. Meg Stapleton quit her job at KTUU in Anchorage about six months before she became a visible part of SP’s run for govenor circa 2005-2006, then she became part of the Palin Administration, quit when her child was born, then was back for the VP run, and you know the rest.

I had to listen to the thread about 5 times to be sure I heard exactly what was said. I think we all find this somewhat confusing. Especially since when we think John Coale, we immediately think SarahPac. And then we immediately start to worry about what that money is being spent on…

So far, it sounds like the Alaska Fund Trust money is being spent ‘as advertised’, for legal expenses. So at least on the surface, that is good news.
    ———–
Agreed. And this was very badly worded on Margaret Carleson’s part (easy enough to do when you are just talking away). I’m sure we were not the only ones who have been confused by this. A follow-up question was definitely in order.
    ===============

Of course, there is still the very significant issue as to whether even that purpose is ethical, and I would not be surprised if Sarah’s epic quit was because she had just found out that the Trust was shortly going to be announced as being in violation of the law or the ethics guidelines. That would certainly have ME gasping for air and spouting inanities!!

In recent months, our investigators have found dozens of personal
profiles of individuals listing “military” as their occupation on a
neo-Nazi, Facebook-type website. One person, apparently serving in
Afghanistan, lists The Turner Diaries as his favorite book. That’s the
book by neo-Nazi leader William Pierce that served as the blueprint
for the Oklahoma City bombing by Gulf War veteran Timothy McVeigh.

We’ve been warning the Pentagon about the danger of extremists in the
military for more than two decades. In 2008, the FBI issued a report
indicating that the problem may have worsened. Unfortunately, the
Pentagon has not taken forceful action.

Indeed, the Pentagon appears to consider homosexuals more of a threat
to the good order of the military than neo-Nazis who reject our
Constitution’s most cherished principles. While the military has
discharged more than 12,500 service members because of their alleged
homosexuality since 1994, it has refused to adopt a true “zero
tolerance” policy when it comes to extremists in the military.

The overwhelming majority of our courageous men and women in uniform
reject extremism and are dedicated to our nation’s highest ideals. We
owe it to them – and to the American public – to ensure that the ranks
are as free of extremists as possible.

Please stand with us on this crucial issue and contact your
congresspersons. We recommend sending a personal letter or calling the
offices of your U.S. Senator or Representative.

I suspect Sarah is going to find that if she moves towards TV she’ll be in for a rude awakening. As a photogenic governor she is unique. As a TV host or Pox News host, she’s just another hottie, aging fast and inarticulate as hell.

Ironically, I KNOW the TV producer who offered Sarah a talk show right after the election. He’s a liberal Jew who was desperate to get her out of politics. If she thinks that offer is still open, she’s going to be in for a rude surprise. Then again, she may have other offers. There are a few conservatives in Hollywood.

This is NOT what was said in the interview.

Margaret Carlson stated clearly that the legal defense fund paid ‘most’ of her legal bills. SarahPac is not involved in that at all and was not even mentioned in the interview.

Margaret did NOT claim that the travel expenses were paid back to the state by the legal defense fund. She only said that the legal expenses were paid.

Please, everyone…listen closely to the interview so we are not spreading misinformation – that will undermine our credibility on some very important issues.

Carlson said that the legal expenses related to the reimbursment of 8000$ have been paid by the fund. NOT the reimbursment itself. In fact Gryphen has corrected his post in the comment section.

Didn’t she tell you tooalso, alsotoo that Michelle Obama has a “hit list” and Sarah Palin is on it?

I know this because…………..My dear departed mother used buy all the “smut papers”, she had many visitors after she retired and these were the conversation piece, never to be taken seriously. We had many, many a laugh, competed with our own stories, friends and family alike.

Now when spouse and I go out on our trawler, I purchase a plethora of “smut papers” at the grocery check out, for entertainment for us and visiting boaters.

Soooooo the other weekend on our beloved second home on the water, the “Obama is gay” thing was there and the perpetrator of this story is apparently on Michelle’s “hit list”! Much more entertaining than CNN and lately about as factual.

To those of you who have family that read the various “smut papers”, try making up a story from one of their headlines and insist it’s true.

There is The National Enquirer, The Globe, The Star and occasionally I come across a black and white one, that I don’t recall the name of.

The black and white one is pure GOLD……55lb babies being born, aliens, second comings etc.

That will get your relatives going without making any thing up, insist you believe what it says.

Levi Johnson, cast in the Palin reality show we’ve all had to watch since August of 2008, as the neer-do-well high school drop out who bonked Governor Palin’s daughter, turns out to be the most articulate and prescient analyst of why Palin just quit the governorship.

Levi tells us in his press conference that while he was with the Palins, before Sarah was picked for V.P. by McCain, she was always very stressed out by her job. Then, after the election, she talked about how nice it would be to take some of the big money offers she was getting — books deals and reality shows. The book deal alone was worth millions of dollars; but she couldn’t do that as governor.

And, one commenter on the YouTube video of the Levi press conference gets it just right:

“josh3103; This press conference was certainly more coherent than the one [Palin] held a week ago. He stayed on topic, there were no mixed metaphors and his statements had subjects and predicates. One more reason Palin should hate this kid. He is a better communicator.”

But I really hope and pray that a respected journalist will craft a good and meaningful story about how Sarah mocked government, lied to her fellow Alaskans and took the money and ran….

I hope somebody calls her out.

    ugh.

I will always remember the night of Nov. 4th and the look on Sarah’s face when she lost. It was that sword of death look.

I agree with Trisha who wrote earlier about how MSM has not addresses Palin and her pitbull Meg attacking the father of Palin’s grandchild.

Here’s what bothers me most about Palin/Meg…

    They are hateful.

I remember Paul Begala on election night laying it all out very clearly. He said,

“The Republican party wants to wrap it’s arms around Sarah Palin and declare her the next Ronald Reagan, but they can’t. It will never work. Why? Because for all the shortcomings Reagan had…he was a nice guy. Even his enemies could see that he was a kind person. Sarah Palin is mean. Nasty. Mean doesn’t sell in the long run. And she’s showing who she is in the way she talks and reacts. She’s just plain mean.”

Meg suffers from some sort of mental issue as well.

She fires those snotty emails and appears to be a 7th grade girl secretly texting from the girls bathroom.

I’m very surprised that a national PR firm hasn’t grabbed those two and said, “Look, ladies, be the adults, this is how we orchestrate responses. One, don’t respond. Two, don’t respond. Three, about those lies while you were twisting your heels in the lawn of your home….let’s talk about that….”

Why would they even dignify that Levi statement if it wasn’t true? Unbelievable that SP through Meg is still sarcastically responding to a young man. Sounds like he hit a nerve.

If Sarah supporters don’t get it by now, they never will. She no doubt left because of greed. Forget her following who tirelessly campaigned for her door to door. Forget the “I Love you Sarah” crowds that waited for her in the sub-zero temps when she arrived back from Alaska. Forget the monetary support from little old ladies’ pension cheques who no doubt donated to her PAC.

Throw them under the bus too. The wheels on Sarah’s bus go swish, swish, swish.

  211. carriesblank says:

Sherry Johnston’s sentencing is on July 31. Doesn’t a judge normally give a few facts on how he or she reaches the terms of the sentence? I have a feeling that some interesting details could emerge. Fact-Authorities intercepted a package of 179 pills. 2 people were arrested who turned informants for the state. Are you telling me that the big time drug dealer that they came up with was Sherry Johnston? Who was selling 8 pills a month apparently from her own prescription. According to the State Police, text messages that they released, said that she could only sell so many because she had to save some for herself. Plus her arrest was delayed for the campaign. Levi has his book deal. He was in NY for at least 5 days, leaving NY on July 1. Sarah knew it was coming, was sick of being gov. and wanted money like Levi said.

  212. Judy5cents says:

Now why didn’t I think of a reality show? My money was on something more dignified like a political talk show gig with Joe the Plumber. The Palin family is a natural for the genre. They offer lots of pathos and drama and the average viewer can relate to them. After all, she a mom just like you or me. And the Palins are all used to having cameras follow them around. Look what a reality tv did for Jon & Kate.

Poor Levi. I know it wasn’t his idea to put on a suit and be paraded around onstage at the Republican convention.

John Coale, who set up Sarah’s Legal Defense Fund and apparently runs SarahPAC, told Carlson that THEY reimbursed the state for the children’s travel expenses and paid her legal bills for the other ethics charges. In other words Sarah Palin has paid NO out of pocket money due to these charges!

  220. Isabella says:

    Hiff picked this up.
Johnston made his comments at a news conference Thursday at the office of his attorney, Rex Butler.

Johnston came forward, Butler said, because Alaskans want to know why Palin has decided to resign. She made the announcement last Friday.

Johnston also is pursuing his own book deal. He is working as a carpenter while also pursuing a movie deal.

  224. trisha says:

Regarding Levi’s statement and Palin’s comment via mouthpiece Meg…..

I am stunned (maybe not) that the MSM allowed Palin to rant for days about how she was treated so badly, yet not one of them addressed Palin’s own actions. She verbally attacked a teenage boy in the press by calling him a liar and an opportunist. If he is an opportunist, what does that make Palin. If that little fishing trip wasn’t an opportunisitic staged event—I don’t know what would be one.

Palin threw Levi in the spotlight, used for him for her political gain–then she disposed of him when he was no longer a benefit to her and attacks him in public. It’s disgraceful. Has there ever been a sitting governor (or any politician) who has gone to war with a teenager in public?

Poor, poor Palin has been “attacked” by the media. But, why isn’t anyone talking about Palin’s attacks on a teenager?

  225. Paula says:

Who are we to assume will be paying Megamouth once Palin is unemployed? Oh, yeah, duh, her loyal supporters who donate their pennies while Palin collects big bucks writing her book. Imagine what her resonces will be then.

That snark coming from Meg is stunning. But, I am sure Palin is standing over her shoulder saying something like……

“Meg, we need to knock the enemy…I mean that teenager… say something about my iconic image…MEG, you are not listening to me, say it’s desecration…then say, Levi is writing fiction–ya, that’s a good one…that will get em’. You got that Meg?”

  238. BuffaloGal says:

    Aussie – thanks!

Paula – He really did do a lot better. And, as AKM said, once again Levi comes forth as the most reasonable voice from that pack.

  243. Paula says:

Thanks Aussie, wow, looks like Levi has been working with a speaking coach, he’s getting better at speaking in front of a camera.
