Putting the goober in gubernatorial -

Friday, January 28, 2022

Hey, Lady! Get a Blog, Already.

Is there such a thing as too much blog material?  Back in the old days before Sarah Palin was on the national scene, I’d cruise around the internet to see what was happening, and when I was stricken with inspiration, I’d create a post.  Sometimes they were long, sometimes short.  Sometimes inspiration came right away, and sometimes I had to look around a while.  I’d hit the Anchorage Daily News, and then maybe Daily Kos or Huffington Post, I’d look at what the other Alaskan Bloggers were doing… I’d zip down my blogroll,  I’d check my email to see what nugget had been dropped in there.  Then maybe cruise the Juneau Empire and the Daily News Miner.  Some legislative newsletters…  and eventually something would hit me.

Now, it’s like one-stop shopping.  Go to the governor’s Twitter page, and it’s like trying to take a drink from the Sarah Palin fire hose.  She just never stops.  Tweets come at all hours of the night, they come from TwitterBerry and from the web, they come in hilarious abbreviated versions, and lately, since that 140 character rule has become just too burdensome, she does what she does with all burdensome rules.  She breaks it.

A couple days ago, she posted a Twitter trilogy.  Today, it’s a seven-part series.  What set her off?  Another ethics complaint, of course.  See, the governor hasn’t been declaring gifts she’s received because she doesn’t consider that she’s received them until they are opened.  So we can now envision some storage facility out in Wasilla, piled high with unopened boxes of who knows what perishable food items now covered with green hair, or baby clothes that no longer fit Trig or Tripp or whichever baby they were for. Maybe a pile of gold bars, or some mysterious white powder.  We just don’t know.  She may have signed for those boxes, and they may be in her house under the bed, or in a storage room, but she hasn’t actually received them yet, you see.   Yeah.  Tell it to the post office when you try to claim that case of moldy oranges.

But nevertheless, the ire of the soon-to-be-politically-incorrect-tweeter has been aroused, and from her fingertips has come a behemoth tweet of epic proportions that took more than an hour to arrive in completion.  At least we think it’s completed.  There’s no punctuation at the end, so we’ll have to wait and see.

  1. In violation of Ethics Act more allegations were filed today by serial complainer;gave to press be4 we could respond;ridiculous, wasteful…
  2. Some ask why not sue abusers of Ethics Act bc state wastes 1000’s hrs/millions of tax dollars to fight (and win!) frivolous charges, tho….
  3. it costs political critics NOTHING to file/play their wasteful game;They should debate policy in political arena,not hide w/process abuse…
  4. BUT if there was a suit to end public waste of time/funds to constantly address false allegations I could see perhaps a veteran filing it…
  5. someone who’s put their life on the line protecting even opponents’ right to speak & protest, was willing to die for freedom of press but…
  6. knows it’s shameful 4 valuable time& public resources to be diverted frm needed causes to deal w/this abuse of govt accountability system…
  7. Hopefully these political critics filing this stuff (& some in press perpetuating it) appreciate the freedom to do so, protected by our vets

(rubbing temples)

So what we are supposed to gather from this, if I am correct, is that she is whining and complaining about the complaints, and is rounding up some veteran to file a complaint against the complainers to tear them down for complaining.

Just for fun, let’s see how this latest round of projectile Tweeting stacks up with her Tweet wisdom of  oh, say…. last night.

Time DOES fly! Work hard so u can genuinely enjoy every recreation minute! Avoid time spent tearing down, whining, complaining;WORK & ENJOY

And while part of me thinks that when your medium of choice has a 140 character limit, and what you want to say is pushing ten times that many, it’s time to get a blog.  But then again, another part of me (the part that sort of thinks it’s fun to try to drink from a fire hose) doesn’t want anything coming between my soon-to-be-ex-governor and her Blackberry.

    I’d slit my wrists from embarrassment if MY gov pulled such a thing!!!!!

  3. LisanTX says:

    These chilling tweets bring to mind what I believe are Palin’s personality disorer(s).

    One mental health professional has begun to identify people who are both narcissists (feels overly entitled) and sociopaths (no conscience) as “narcissiopaths.”

    http://www.lovefraud.com/blog/2009/07/16/the-narcissiopath/

    Do the following quotes remind you of anyone?

    At root, the narcissist is an overly entitled personality. He feels entitled to be accomodated on a pretty much continual basis. This begs the question, on what basis does he accord himself this right—to expect, that is, the continual accomodation of his needs and desires? The answer is, on the basis of his sense of himself as “special,” and his expectation that others—indeed, the world—will also recognize him as special.
    ****snip*****
    The narcissist is infamously inept at managing his disappointment. He feels that he should never be disappointed, that others owe him protection from disappointment. When disappointed, he will find someone to blame, and will quickly de-idealize and devalue his disappointer.
    ***snip****
    But the sociopath’s dead conscience isn’t per se what makes him sociopathic. Many people have weak consciences who aren’t sociopaths. It is his dead conscience in conjunction with his orientation to exploit that gets to the heart (really, heartlessness) of the sociopath.

    The sociopath is variously a manipulator, liar, deceiver and violator of others; and he is these things less to regulate his unstable self-esteem than, more often than not, to enjoy himself, amuse himself, entertain himself, and take what he feels like taking in a way he finds optimally satisfying.

    The sociopath, as I have discussed previously, is an audacious exploiter. His lack of shame supports his imperturbability, which enhances the experience of his audacity. The sociopath leaves one shaking one’s head at his nerve, his gall. One imagines that to venture the deception and outrages the sociopath pursues with his famous, blithe composure, he must possess a chilling callousness and coldness beneath what may otherwise be his veneer of “normality.” One imagines correctly.
    ****snip****
    Now sometimes we find ourselves dealing, as I’ve suggested, with individuals who seem, at once, to be both narcissist and sociopath, as if straddling, or embodying both disorders.

    These are the individuals I’m proposing to call narcissiopaths.

    ********

    The author uses O.J. Simpson as an example of someone who is both a narcissist and a sociopath. In the future, I think the author will have more examples to write about.

    Her twitters will do her in. She has the wrong idea of what she could or should do with her tweets. How is she going to make headway with her flying fingers after the 26th if she is devoid of ideas already?
    She’ll try harder and harder and get deeper and deeper in her own web until she “has to quit” “because liberals won’t stop bashing” her and she is just going to “not let them have Sarah to kick around anymore.”
    That’ll serve them right by gummy also, ” I’ll just withhold my wisdom for my wealthy country club set at my paid-for-speeches and they’ll be sorry, na na.”
    All of Alaska should wear Maroon at the week end parties in recognition of “What a Maroon” . Break out the dyes.

  7. tm68 says:

    I didn’t follow the veteren comment at all. What is it she wants a vet to do for her exactly? File a complaint against the complainers? Why does it have to be a vet? I don’t get it. Someone explain this madness to me.

  8. Lilybart says:

    I just checked and my Gov, who is blind, has a twitter. But funny, there was nothing personal at all. No whining about the NYPost tearing him a new one every day, nothing about where his kids might be hiking, not famous quotes. Not fair to New Yorkers!!!

  10. Maria says:

    Disorganized on the job, disorganized at home. That’s Palin for ya. You’d think by now they’d have done something about all that clutter.
    If it weren’t for tweets coming out of Iran, I’d consider Twitter a complete waste of time. Who cares about anyone’s random thoughts unless they were Confucius, Socrates, Buddha, or the like?

  11. Candy Knight says:

    As the daughter, wife, and mother of veterans, it royally irks me the way $arah acts as if veterans and their families are all her personal, pocketed supporters. We’re not!

  12. mlaiuppa says:

    I’ve thought of another reason Sarah would never survive owning a blog.

    Can you imagine the time she’d spend going back and editing her past posts? Every time there is a criticism or exposure, she’d go back and “fix” her post so that whatever it was would “disappear” like it was never there.

    It would drive her nuts. Well, more so than she already is.

    No, twitter is her perfect medium. It’s for those that don’t have the original thoughts or attention span to support a blog.

  13. WalterNeff says:

    ds55: I looked into this a few weeks ago when I was compiling my Quitters Hall of Fame. Average Gov. tweet rate is about one per day and they are almost always links to policy papers or speeches. She’s nuts.

  14. Gardenslug says:

    Palin’s twitters are so pointless and confusing. They serve only to highlight her lack of depth and professionalism. So, please don’t let her start blogging because that would just lead to more of the same, in longer, more befuddling form.

    I do think Levi Johnston should consider twittering.
    Ashton Kutcher said, “It’s really about everyday people having a voice,” and Levi could be a voice for young fathers dealing with custody, paternity, child support, and other parenting issues.

  15. ds55 says:

  16. Pat in MA says:

    she could see a veteran filing suit to stop the complaints? reminds me of Biden’s quip about Rudy Guiliani – everything he says is always a noun, a verb and 911… Sarah doesn’t always have nouns and verbs (or periods for that matter) in her sentences, but she never fails to mention the troops no matter what the topic.

  17. debinOH says:

    The Vanity Fair Palin Speech Edit is a classic. I have always wanted to do this to one of her speeches but quite frankly after looking at them I decided it would take way too long:)

  18. WalterNeff says:

    Her tweet rate is so high it’s likely that by pure accident, like chimps with typewriters, she’ll hammer out the complete works of Shakespeare within the year.

  19. overthemoon says:

    incentivizing. I know others have mentioned this, but I think the downfalling of America will be due to the nonsensical verbilating of nouns.

  20. Lighthouse says:

    Am I correct that only gifts of a value of $150.00 or more must be reported.
    And is that just in Alaska would there be a different standard for the IRS?
    —————-

    Don’t know what the rules are for Alaska or for someone in the position of governor, but when I worked for NY State years ago we were required to report any gifts over $25. I’m sure the amount is higher now since that was a while ago and there are probably different standards for someone in that level of government (I was merely a peon!). It will be interesting to see how this plays out since the IRS isn’t nearly as willing to overlook things the way the Personnel Board is!

  23. Mudbug says:

    Perhaps she can send all the boxes and letters up to the remote villages she refuses to support? Then, they keep the cash and put on E-bay the rest so they can buy food and heat this winter?

    Hey, a graceful way out. It’s win win for everyone. Tweeterhead gets to claim she was ‘charitable’ and the villages get what she refused them.

    $arah – either you FILED THE REQUIRED REPORTS or you DIDN’T.

    Even your Attorney won’t address that fact. Instead you attack Andree. That may fly in a small town, but it’s not going to fly across the USA.

    Here is a link posted in the last thread. Thank you note received by someone from Staten Island. It was a package, and the note was written in May.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Speaking of embarrassments, Mr. DeVito is a member of the Sarah Palin Adoration Fan Club. On behalf of all Staten Islanders who do not share in his adulation, I apologize for his unbecoming gushing and fawning.
    And note to Ron DeVito: Other governors have, throughout US history, written thank-you notes. You can use Teh Google to find them. And, after viewing his MySpace page, he Really needs to stop drooling over Sarah like a teenage boy. It’s very unbecoming. She is so not interested in him.
    I need to take a shower now. These kinds of people make me feel soiled.
    ===================
    Reminds me of a guy driving by and yelling to the pedestrian: “Hey! get a job already!”
  29. Karen says:
    Why doesn’t Sarah try…..just being ethical?
    It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize that mountains of gifts being sent to your teenaged mother of a daughter are going to add up to a significant amount (especially since it was probably bristol’s second baby and the poor kid got rooked on the gifts the first time around!). So as you open them, you catalogue and value them. Willow could have done it. Even a borderline intelligent person could have put that 2 + 2 together, and understood that NOT declaring the mountain o’ loot would likely cause problems down the road.
    Just sayin’.
  30. mocha says:
    She has veterans on her mind because the crabby conservative veterans/white supremists at americangrandjury.org published an open letter to Palin about Obama birther conspiracy and now they’re all ‘yeah, let’s get Sarah to get on Obama about the birth certificate since she’s going to be politically incorrect anyway next week.’ God help us if she does.
  31. KayInMaine says:
    I bet Sarah has been dreaming of opening up those boxes for months now and this is another reason why she quit as Governor: SO SHE CAN OPEN THE BOXES! I hope she’s never able to. It will drive the woman mad…more so than last night. 😆
  32. KayInMaine says:
    I’ve said for months now that Sarah Palin is one of those white women who yells in a crowd of white men, “That black man raped me!”, just so she can watch the black man get the snot beat out of him. She was doing the same thing last night by mentioning our veterans. She truly wants our soldiers to come to her defense by beating up people for her!
    She’s insane, she’s dangerous, and if she thinks we are going to shut up about her, she’s got another thing coming.
  33. samper says:
    Any IRS investigation would include bank statements. If there is anything much more than her salary being deposited, it will be PAINFULLY obvious.
    That would include compensation from ARCTIC CAT, “gifts” from her adoring public, etc. Sure, she could pocket the cash (but who’s stupid enough to send cash through the mail?), but checks have to be run through SOME kind of account, unless she’s cashing them at the local liquor store or through Piper’s account.
    For all that, however, I’d bet that Piper’s account would be scrutinized as well. Just in case, mind you!
    No worries there!
    Numerous deposits that may or may not count in taxes will prove one thing: She DID open the gifts and DOES know what was received (but not reported).
    Oh, and receipt of something = taking possession of it. Whatever she does with it after that is moot. If she received it, but didn’t open it, it’s still received. I believe the federal custom is to observe the federal stamp via the USPS (a federal agency)… the POSTMARK.
    I can see her madly shredding even ENVELOPES now!
  34. pennygirl says:
    and as for tweeting on a roll about not complaining and then complaining..
    I listened to a well known radio guru’s show (health nut guy) once talking about mental health and people that just go on and on saying negative things on and on… Well, 1/2 hour into the hour show I had to turn it off.. HE was the one going on and on and on and on negatively about these negative people going on and on
    She is used to doing what SHE wants and evryone else acting like SHE wants them to act.. no Biblical Golden Rule here.. and that’s a basic Christian foundation.. witchy poo church lady I say
  35. pennygirl says:
    I’m sure hearing her nonchalantly and with a “whatevah” that she hasn’t even opened hundreds of boxes… makes her little fans that sent her something feel swell
    I mean there has to be some hand knit something in there for the baby, some inspirational poem someone wrote her,.. stuff like that
    It’s like a slap in the face saying yeah well hello.. I haven’t even OPENED them! but I got plenty of time for photo ops and lemonade stands.. oh and when I am home for any given period of time and could be going in there to see what someone painstakingly sent me.. NOPE I’d prefer to sit here on this couch here and twitter
    People of the PalinBot world heed…. she is using you guys….
    Did she once stop and Tweet a thanks about the Trust Fund thingy you spent a week doing? But she has time to say who scored highest in a hockey game..
    hrmmm…. classy lady
  36. Lee323 says:
    AKM: “Hey, Lady! Get a Blog, Already.”
    ———————————————-
    This phrase is very reminiscent of the scenario of two people engaging in a public display of affection that borders on near completion of coitus….prompting embarrassed and annoyed onlookers to say “Hey, you two! Get a room, already.”
    It’s not far off actually: Palin’s tweets are embarrassing public displays of ignorance and weirdness which are challenged by the limits of 140 characters. A blog just might be the answer to give her enough room for completion of her…….thoughts.
    Okay…..Gag! A whole blog of ignorance and weirdness…….perish the thought. Sorry, pups. Forget the parallel about two people, PDA, onlookers etc…… Again I say, Gag! Very unfortunate visuals here. I take full responsibility.
  37. ds55 says:
    The ethics complaint mentions one specific gift. It only takes one to make a case stick.
    “Unclaimed gift: White hand-crafted beaded vest received in 2007
    In response to my January 22, 2009 public record request for a copy of a
    completed and signed gift disclosure form claiming receipt of a white
    hand-crafted beaded vest Sarah Palin received while attending the
    September 2007 Institute of the North Alaska Dialogue conference in
    Talkeetna, the office of the governor replied on February 20, 2009 that
    they were working on generating an estimate of its value. I have yet to
    receive a completed and signed disclosure form that claims Palin’s receipt
    of a white hand-crafted beaded vest.”
  38. The Rubber Room Hotel says:
    Evening mudpups!
    Wow! Took me 2 hours to catch up with the last 2 posts.
    OK here is my question maybe belongs on earlier post but.
    Am I correct that only gifts of a value of $150.00 or more must be reported.
    And is that just in Alaska would there be a different standard for the IRS?
    How many 20 or 15 dollar checks do you think she has received, man that stuff could really add up. Also little gifts she could in turn turn around and sell.
    Seems to me the little ones could really add up to some serious money.
  65. Kath the Scrappy from Seattle says:
    I think the reason that THIS Ethics challenge put a burr under $P’s saddle blanket and tripped her trigger was that most likely all the boxes/gifts have been opened. Who would let them keep piling up & maybe have to hire a Storage Shed (or 10?) to stash the loot – while she has bored little girls sitting around looking for activities.
    When this came out today, probably the first thing that crossed her mind was: “Gack, how could I even possibly remember all the loot that came in, much less account for it now for the State OR for IRS? Why won’t those mean people just forget about it since I will be resigning and doing the martyr thing on behalf of Alaska?”
    Also, if there were small checks coming in & signed off would the bank even track it? I know the bank does track it if in the $thousands?, but if it’s small checks & money orders how would anyone actually have any accounting? Although, I’m sure IRS would have the ability to see her personal checking acct statements if they were ballooning. Input anyone?
    Jhop was here earlier, she’s 3-4 hrs ahead of us here in WA & AK. I believe it was Pg4, perhaps Pg3 of “New Ethics Complaint Filed Against Sarah Palin” where Jhop was offering insight. Sounded rather positive IMO.
  68. bucfan says:
    I could do a doctorate thesis on her. But I don’t think they give one out for Crazyology
  69. AKraven says:
    She claims to have revamped the ethics rules, but they don’t apply to her. She is above them. If she were a responsible person who cared about her supporters, she would have had an assistant open all those boxes of mail in a timely manner. She would have claimed the gifts and answered the correspondences in a timely manner. Her ignorance of the basic rules of etiquette is appalling. She holds herself up as the elite of the elitists! She thinks she is superior to everyone else. None of the rules apply to $arah, not even the ones she made up.
  70. bucfan says:
    E in New England, first, where are you? I have a sister in law somewhere in New Hampshire. And as far as her popularity, yes, there still people who approve of her, but remember even Bush still had a thirty per cent approval rating. You would have to go back and see how she came to power mostly because we had the most unpopular sitting governor in history. And as far as using the troops, I hate to say it, but that is a typical Republican ploy. George Bush perfected the photo op using our troops. And Democrats are weak on national security, and on and on.
  71. hawk says:
    I remember a few months ago someone scanned and posted a thank you note on C4pee they had received from Bristol for some gifts they had sent to Trigg.. I first thought it was interesting that Bristol was sending thank you notes for Triggs presents but that’s a whole different topic.. What was very interesting in the note was Bristol saying they had received “thousands” of gifts so far and were busy sorting thru them.. So it sounds to ME like they went right ahead and opened everything that was sent and I’m sure NONE of it was ever reported
  72. mlaiuppa says:
    ocliberal said: “Wouldn’t the proper and intelligent response have been for Palin or her attorney to have issued a statement that simply said, “Governor Palin has reported and disclosed all gifts received by her by the proper deadline as required by the Ethics laws of the State of Alaska.””
    Yes, that would be the proper response. But they use the attack and name calling response because they cannot use the proper response. Because Palin hasn’t reported the disclosed all gifts. She hasn’t opened them. And according to her until she opens them, they’re not “received”. She’s admitted as much.
    You must remember Palin doesn’t have to follow the same rules as everyone else. She can do whatever she wants.
  73. mlaiuppa says:
    Well, you know she’s not going to declare *everything* she gets. Checks will be returned as they’re too old to cash anyway. Cash will be discretely pocketed and overlooked on the declaration. So will any really nice jewelry. Anything else she wants will be undervalued to the extreme. And she’ll overvalue the junk she’s going to donate to charity.
    If you’re sending pajamas, make sure you not only get a delivery confirmation but also keep the receipt to prove value of item. (It’s too bad we don’t have the means to waste income sending her dozens of sets of silk pajamas valued well over $100 a piece. I have two sets of Nordstrom that were expensive even on sale. And no, she’s not getting them.)
  74. hawk says:
    I think the “veteran” she is referring to is this clown..
    http://alaskadistrict31.blogspot.com/
    You’ll notice a ways down the page him bragging about (amongst other things) introducing legislation to keep ethics complaints private.. Rep. Lynn has had his head stuck so far up $arahs butt since day one he can’t even see his front porch, say much less Russia.. He’s one of the few legislators that has supported with her shenanigans all along and of course still thinks she’s the second coming
    —-
    Double Amen! Either you are ethical or you aren’t. If you are ethical and obey the laws of the state you swore to serve, you don’t worry about ‘frivolous’ ethics complaints or better yet, you don’t get 21 of them filed against you.
    Sarah Palin is the Queen of the Ad hominem attack. Do you notice how she never addresses the actual complaint, she only personally attacks the person who filed the complaint?
    Wouldn’t the proper and intelligent response have been for Palin or her attorney to have issued a statement that simply said, “Governor Palin has reported and disclosed all gifts received by her by the proper deadline as required by the Ethics laws of the State of Alaska.”
    —-
    Regarding Palin’s SoCal roots, I think I read once that the Todd’s parents (or maybe that was step-parents) have a vacation home in Palm Springs (or maybe that was Palm Desert). Sorry don’t care enough to look but if those are her SoCal roots that’s really stretching the connection.
    Dr Chill, where are you?
    This is a picture that just begs to be done. SP over a big bowl of salad. Each leaf of lettuce has a word on it (i.e. “also”, “too”, “progressing”, “incentivizing”, “therefore”, evil media”, “liberal bloggers”, lots of “me”, “me”, “me” etc-you get the picture) and she is madly, madly tossing the salad causing “a blizzard of words” around her head. That is how I picture a blog being done by her.
  80. E in New England says:
    I know I’m a newbie in terms of posting around here (though I’ve been reading since before the election), but I can I just say: THANK GOODNESS for AKM and the rest of you guys!
    My friends think I’m nuts when I try to explain why SP is such a disgrace (to her state, to her political party, and to her gender). Maybe it’s because we don’t live in Alaska, I don’t know. But if it weren’t for the rest of you, I might think I was losing my mind. How is ANYONE still snowed by this woman? It’s beyond my comprehension.
    I also have to ask: Why does EVERYTHING seem to come back to soldiers/veterans with her? I mean no disrespect to those who have served and are currently serving our country, but it’s like she throws them in wherever possible, even when totally irrelevant. Why would it make any difference as to who would file a suit against “constantly false accusations” (which they are not, but that’s not the point)?? She’s basically saying she wants someone who has fought to protect our right to free speech to file a lawsuit to… quash someone’s right to free speech?
    There’s not enough time in the world for me to type out the number of questions that come up every time she opens her mouth. My forehead has become permanently flat from the Palin-related number of times I’ve smacked it against my desk. She’s not even MY governor (or soon-to-be-ex, as it were), and she’s practically driving ME to drink!
  83. mlaiuppa says:
    A link to a story on a right-wing website
    http://rightwingnews.com/mt331/2009/07/is_palin_uniting_or_dividing_r.php
    An excerpt–
    In the same column Mr. Frank writes, “Indeed, if political figures stand for ideas, victimization is what Ms. Palin is all about. It is her brand, her myth. Ronald Reagan stood tall. John McCain was about service. Barack Obama has hope. Sarah Palin is a collector of grievances. She runs for high office by griping…She is known not for her ideas but as a martyr, a symbol of the culture-war crimes of the left.” Disappointingly, Mrs. Palin focuses on the criticism and insults directed at her instead of concentrating on articulating solutions for our country.
    Is perhaps the real devotion and connection the Palinette’s feel for Governor Palin due to their feeling a kinship with a fellow conservative being persecuted? Many Christians and conservatives rightly believe themselves to be the target of the media, popular culture, and even some Republicans. Is Mrs. Palin just a symbol of the real victimhood that is occurring, or is she an agent for change to promote the values which have become so forsaken?
  92. I’m still thinking about the nightmare that would be Sarah Palin blogging. I love blogs. But nothing she says or writes makes any sense. I can’t imagine how she got that journalism degree, unless they were sick of her and gave it to her so she’d go away.
    When I was in high school, I took every English class offered, because I enjoyed it. So, I had one year of journalism that included working on the school newspaper. It was fun and great training. To be a journalist, one must organize information and write about it without a lot of editing. Not that I’d have made a good journalist, but the training has been useful. I just don’t see any of that coming through in Sarah’s speeches and can’t imagine her writing coherent blogs.
    That Vanity Fair editing job was great. It shows just how awful and inept her use of the English language is. I especially liked the part where whole paragraphs were crossed out – not reworded, just deleted. Message to Sarah? If what you want to say doesn’t fit with the theme, then leave it out. You can’t cram every talking point in every speech you make.
    Really, as goofy as her tweets are, she’s better off sticking to that instead of trying her hand at a blog. Will she still have her blackberry, or does that belong to the state?
  93. samper says:
    Her tweets do seem to be getting more and more frantic. The press releases coming from her office are usually inaccurate and unprofessional enough, and those are presumably written by someone with some small amount of PR training and edited before release. Her tweets, however, are released immediately in her typical incomprehensible style with no way to edit or pull them back.
    She responds to everything with such a knee-jerk reaction that one of these days her tweets will get her in some serious trouble. That’s the danger of having no ‘filter’ on your thoughts or words and having a method of immediately sharing those thoughts with everyone!
    _***************************************
    Thanks for posting this. I would not have the stamina to read her written words. Funny how when her spoken words (painful enough to hear) are transcribed, the result is 10 X worse than having to listen to them. I loved the “green” comments, but also savored the “red” ones. Her thought processes (or lack thereof) reflect in her diction and her logistics of delivery.
    If she is truly writing a book, I pity the editor and ghost writer who has to clean it up like the VF guys did her speech. Lol!
    I trust the Repub elders are watching SP and shaking their heads.
  112. She’s just not happy because there are still ethics rules that she has to follow. Does she think that once she quits no one can file something against her? Does the chance to do so end when she isn’t governor if the complaint is about the time she was in office? I would think people could still go after her. I hope they do, if there’s something that she hasn’t had to account for. And once she’s out of office she probably won’t have access to those millions of state dollars or thousands of hours from the state lawyers. Ooops, Sarah – you should have played by the rules and then none of this would be a problem.
    And why, oh why, does she always have to drag the military into whatever she is talking about? Good grief. SHE wasn’t in the military. I wonder if it’s too late – maybe they could knock some sense into her about what it means to follow the rules and not try to write your own.
    She’s a lunatic, first class. The more she tweets the more evident it is. And with every tweet she is giving all of us more ammunition in case she ever rears her ugly head again on the political stage. Watch out, Sarah, honey – we’re all watching and we’ll be ready for you.
    And thanks AKM, for following the biggest tweeting twit for all of us. I can’t make myself read it more than a couple of times a week.
He did survive, came back and suffered greatly with depression, alcoholism until he died. Am proud of our Canadians who fought alongside Americans for freedoms.
    And, it stands to reason that we get frustrated – with an individual who practices insentivity (SP) with every word that comes out of her mouth. So, did your father survive too?
    So, if the Gov keeps twittering, or does write a blog, won’t be long before she has possibly insulted every facet of society. The pen is mightier than the sword; in her instance, her pen may be her political end.
It is interesting that nobody has mentioned how DISRESPECTFUL it is to the people who sent her gifts. What a sleeze she is! Gimmee, gimmee, gimmee!!!
  129. samper says:
    PRESS RELEASE WITH MY COMMENTS IN PARENTHESIS:
    Another Ethics Complaint Filed Against the Governor
    July 20, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska – Once again, an ethics complaint has been filed and publicly released in violation of state law (WHAT LAW? IT ONLY APPLIES TO THE COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE LEG, NOT EXECUTIVE BRANCH!). This is the sixth complaint filed by Ms. McLeod. (SO WHAT? SHE HAS LEGAL AND VALID POINTS!) In addition, she has filed a lawsuit against the Governor’s office and multiple public records act requests. (AS WELL SHE SHOULD, IF THEY ARE NOT COMPLYING WITH REASONABLE REQUESTS!) All of her prior complaints that have been ruled on have been dismissed. (BECAUSE PERSONNEL BOARD WANTS TO KEEP THEIR CUSHY JOBS!) The Ethics Act serves important state interests in ensuring ethical state government and was intended to prevent the various forms of corrupt misconduct (LIKE SP’S) that had plagued the Legislature in prior years and which resulted in the prosecution of legislators and others. It is unfortunate that the law has been abused and trivialized in the current manner. (TRIVIALIZED? HOW SO, MR. BIG SHOT?)
    Today’s complaint, filed just six days before the Governor leaves office (SO WHAT? SHE IS STILL GINO. WHAT DOES TENURE HAVE TO DO WITH IT?), alleges (PROVES) that Governor Palin violated the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act by failing to submit complete gift disclosure forms in a timely manner, and obtained “free” services. The apparent primary goal (SAYS WHO? YOU? YOU’RE AN IDIOT! WHAT DOES YOUR OPINION HAVE TO DO WITH ANDREE’S ACTUAL GOAL?) of this complaint has been achieved, namely, an effort to keep the complainant’s name in the paper. (YEAH, RIGHT! ANDREE LOVES THREAT TO HER WELL BEING!) We anticipate another dismissal of this complaint as with the complainant’s other complaints. (WHY? BECAUSE GINO MIGHT FIRE THEM OTHERWISE? SORRY! THIS MIGHT NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME FOR HER TO THREATEN DISMISSAL!) This is the fourth ethics complaint filed against the Governor since the announcement of her resignation on July 3. (BECAUSE SHE IS UNETHICAL!) In every case, the complainers (COMPLAINANTS, YOU DOLT!) violated the confidentiality provision of the Ethics Act in making their complaints public knowledge. (THERE IS NO SUCH PROVISION FOR THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH COMPLAINTS!)
    THOMAS VAN FLEIN—Personal Attorney for Governor Palin (AKA: A-HOLE!)
    My blood is BOILING!
  130. I feel more uncomfortable with the term “ethics complaint” every day.
    What we call that is merely citizens using the only avenue open to the to clarify our poorly thought out and poorly written executive ethics code. It is one of the least restrictive in the USA. If one approaches the state ombudsman to answer questions like Andree is once again raising, you are referred to the process she is engaged in. If one goes to the Department of Law, one is told to do what Andree did.
    The same held true for Ray Metcalfe, when he complained about stuff Veco cronies were doing. The FBI took a deeper interest in Ray’s concerns.
    Palin should have been indicted for stealing almost $10,000.00 from Alaska to fly her kids to events they weren’t wanted at, staying in pricey hotels, one of them overlooking Park Avenue and Central Park – for a friggin’ week!
    July 19, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin offered her support and encouragement to the family of a Ft. Richardson soldier captured in Afghanistan. Details >
    She tweeted more than this. Maybe tweeting will be her own Sarah way of doing things. Real mavericky. Rules, schmules.
    And Canadian John- loved your comments. (My grandfather fought in WWII as part of the Regina Rifles.) You spoke from your heart, and I thank you for that.
News folks will then print out the twitters, cut them out, and assemble their very own, do-it-yourself press release. Gives a whole new look to the editing process. I wonder if she’ll put her most important info in the Lede twitter–the first one?     I probably shouldn’t post this as it makes me look like a smug elitist, but I went to a rather exclusive and pricey New England college with a darned good hockey program. When playing on the road against a team from a school with less prestigious academic credentials our fans had a show-stopping taunt. When the other team scored against us (which I’m proud to say wasn’t often), our fans would wait for the home fans’ cheering to die down and then they would counter with this: “That’s alright, that’s OK, You’re all gonna work for us someday!”
    Cruel, but effective.
She got her way in quitting — that got most folks thinking she’s half nuts, and gave the GOP establishment a way to acceptably criticize and marginalize her. What happens if she gets her way and has some crony/dupe that’s served file suit? Welp, (wealthy and politically connected) Sarah Palin will be going after a (middle class, non-connected) private citizen who was just exercising her legal rights to speak truth to power and participate in her own government.
    I will bet you that a) pro bono lawyers will come out of the woodwork, and b) she will publicly paint herself as petty and vengeful, which will cover up her patina of victimhood toot sweet.
    A blog? On the one hand, she’d still be utterly incomprehensible. On the other, I guess it’s not strictly because of Twitter that I’ve started thinking of her as the Twit Who Quit.
    I think a blog IS in her future. She needs a format where she can “speak” and spew without having to answer questions from commenters.
    I remember the days of waiting forever for the text pages to load, shoo-ing the teenagers off the internet at 2:00 a.m., and waiting for 7 hours to get the results from a soccer game daughter #2 played 500 miles away. You’d think $P would have some respect for what the internet has become.
    …and some fear for what it keeps FOREVER!
I picture it looking like RedState or FreeRepublic, but with no back and forth discourse except when posts appear from mansour or ziegler.
