The Palin Notification Act.

AKleftbehind

Please join Governor SARAH PALIN & nationally known conservative STAR PARKER Thursday, August 27th 7:30pm at Change Point Church Anchorage

The Alaskans for Parental Rights campaign was developed to return to parents the right to oversee abortion decisions their underage teenage daughters might be unfortunately considering.

********************************

So says the notice from Change Point Church, one of Anchorages 2 mega-churches that will be pushing hard for the Parental Notification act.  This announcement has appeared all over the internet, far and wide – state blogs, national blogs, Palin blogs, you name it.  I’ve known about this appearance for days now.  Apparently it’s been in the works for weeks and Jim Minnery, the president of the Alaska Family Council has been gleefully promoting the event.  There have even been robocalls by former Lt. Governor Loren Lehman jingling phones all over Anchorage saying, “I’m calling to ask you to meet with Gov. Sarah Palin and me this Thursday for an event to protect young girls facing abortion decisions.”

One teensy little problem, and I bet you can guess what it is.

She won’t be there.

That’s right, according to the ADN, spokeswoman Meg Stapleton says that neither she nor the ex-almost-one-term governor had ever heard anything about it. Imagine!

Here’s where we all take the heels of our hands and rub them in circles just over our brow ridge, then slowly do a “face palm” and draaaagggg our hands down until we’re pulling our lower eyelids and making “monster face.”  There’s really no other appropriate reaction at this point.  So, if you’ve been keeping a tally like I have, you can get out your little spiral pocket notebook and flip to the “Sarah Palin Flake Out” page.  That’s it…the one that says:

1.  GOP Winter Retreat in D.C. – said she couldn’t come because there was too much work to do back home, but was actually attending the swanky Alfalfa Club Dinner down the street.

2.  CPAC Conference- Smitten conservatives on Team Sarah had online groups saving pennies to go hear their idol speak at the convention.  Cancelled at the last minute stating she had never said she would be there despite claims by the organizer and heavy promotion on the website.

3.  Republican Senate and House Fundraiser – According to organizers, she said yes to delivering the keynote address.  Then she denied saying yes, and left the committee in the lurch forcing a last minute replacement by Newt Gingrich.

3A.  Republican Senate and House Fundraiser Take II – Invited a second time.  Said yes she would, then no she wouldn’t, then got disinvited and replaced by Newt Gingrich, then said yes she would, then they said forget it, but then she did….sort of.

4.  Fancy Republican Women’s fundraiser in Simi Valley at Reagan Library – High priced tickets promoted online and sold, then the claim she never said she’d be there and money had to be refunded.  Simultaneously thumbs nose at women, Republicans, rich people AND the ghost of Ronald Reagan.

and now our latest entry.

5….(licking tip of pencil)  Bagged out of speaking engagement at Change Point Church after her Alaskan right wing religious base and former Lt. Governor have been promoting her appearance for weeks.  Claims not to have known.  Also, simultaneously announces she won’t be coming to a $500 suggested donation private fundraiser that she admits being invited to because she’s out of town and won’t be back in time.

Where is she, and what is she doing?  Sorry everyone counting on her appearance, that information is classified according to Stapleton.  But feel free to write that $500 check anyway!

Why, it was just last month when I asked:

“I wonder how long it will be before nobody invites her to speak anywhere ever.  And what will Meg Stapletondo now that she can’t blame “miscommunication” with the governor’s staff?”

Apparently she just goes for the flat denial, and makes Jim Minnery of the Alaska Family Council sound like he’s listening to the voices in his head.  Again.

Maybe, instead of the Parental Notification Act, we need the Palin Notification Act.  I think that groups who are counting on her presence to make gobs of money, and create excitement, and boost attendance at their function should require at least two weeks notice that she plans to say she never knew anything about it.

You know…to avoid stuff like this appearing less than 24 hours before the event.

    Sarah Palin = epic fail

  4. LurkingSeamstressPDX says:

    So..did she show up like Jim M. claimed she would ??

  5. mommom says:

    Since Minnery has dissed Sarah in the past,it is possible that meangirl Palin took it upon herself to purposely mislead them.

    My money is still on her being closeted in the “C”Street house while she recuperates from plastic surgery.

    __________

    For sure.

    For all the loyalty her empty-headed fans show her, she sure doesn’t show much loyalty to them by leading them on with false advertising like that. Why, there ought to be a law. …

    Lori in California Loved you shes coming shes coming posit almost spit my Gatorade out I was laughing so loud my daughter stood and looked at me so I had to tell her about the post and she cracked up also. Have to also say coming from where or when. Don’t feel bad I have been banned or something twice from ADN and I am not one to say something vindictive about palin so don’t really know why I was banned from commenting.I usually just say I disagree with a comment and why nothing nasty or vulgar.

    It’s 5:38 in Anchorage as I write this.
    Sarah still has two hours to wrap her face up, stop doing shots of crazy
    with Glenn Beck, wink at Rupert and ask for the keys to the jet, scream at Todd that he’s draggin’ her down, try not to do a repeat of the flying while in labor thing–and she could be with The Council just as they try making more money to take the rights away of traumatized Alaskan teenaged girls.
    And did someone from the Palin camp claim the pastor has tried to hoodwink Palin before?! Too much fun. But I’m sure everyone will smile and act slightly disappointed but still genuflect to Fake Bible Spice.

    Some knucklehead was actually incensed that the Massachusetts legislature wasn’t going to change the law with regard to filling Senator Kennedy’s senate seat so that — omg! — Mitt Romney could appoint Sister Sarah!

    Seriously!

    These morons think Romney is still governor of Massachusetts AND that he could appoint an Alaska resident to the Massachusetts senate seat!
    ——–
    Hope these nuts haven’t procreated. And that they get raptured out of here and leave the rest of us alone.

    Health care? Who needs health care? I got Palin fans on Facebook curing me with laughter. They do say it is the best medicine, and I’m beginning to think they might be right about that!

    Barely a whisper over there, however, about her apparent inability to decipher the workings of calendars or employ anyone with that particular knowledge.

  15. InJuneau says:

    nswfm CA–oh yeah, and I love lynnrockets’s stuff!

  16. InJuneau says:

    tamara–no, no, certainly not getting on your case (mostly just wanting to let others know they could go back and read great descriptions of it!).

    not that sarah–I think the “nanny” finally left AIDEA and is working for Scarahpac. The chef hasn’t worked for the state for a couple of years now. She did other state work after leaving being the chef, but she’s in business for herself now.

    nswfm CA–well, wherever the word came from, it’s a great one!

  17. not that sarah says:

    Also, the church brought her to the political dance, so to speak. I can’t believe she’s foolish enough to throw them under the bus. They might have been scared of her before, and I realize she’s still pulling Parnell’s strings (as is the church), but hasn’t the power shifted a bit?

  18. nswfm CA says:

    165 InJuneau, I can’t take credit for that; I read it somewhere.

    If you want to read some humorous writing related to Gov Iquitarod, see lynnrockets link under Fun Stuff.

  19. not that sarah says:

    “Gov’s staff” makes me wonder if her “staff” are still on state salary. Is the nanny/chef still working for her? Just what are Alaskans paying for right now? Does she still have state funded security, drivers, etc???

    Who are these staff people, if not her PAC people?

    KateinCanda: ROFL, great point! It appears that the folks at Changepoint have been living in a cave for the past 2 months and didn’t bother to notice that she’s only an EX Gov now. Either way it’s clear that the ball is now back in Sarah’s court with their rebuttal. Someone is going to come out of this looking
    foolish, and I’ll bet you anything Sarah is going to try her best not to be the fool.

    I guess things like ‘facts’ and ‘reality’ seem to elude conservards.

  25. UK Lady says:

    ROTFLOL

    Minnery has been thrown under the bus but he ain’t gonna lie down. How much do you bet that he will name names after this.

  26. tamara says:

    Just re-reading Minnery’s update, last § :

    “We look forward to Governor Palin honoring her commitment to attend, and ….”

    What is the guy thinking. Threatening the Wassila Queen. She’s going to send her National Guard to chew your ass up, Minnery, with the help of her Lt Gov General.

  27. Say NO to Palin in Politics says:

    what is this? lol, are they going to shame and embarrass her into coming? now what will Meg say? lol

    “Media reports in the last 24 hours have quoted the Governor’s spokeswoman as saying that Mrs. Palin never committed to attend the event, and that she will not be present this evening.

    We have been in regular communications with the Governor’s staff over the last several weeks. We were assured that Governor Palin was personally aware of this evening’s event, and that she twice confirmed her intent to participate.

    We look forward to Governor Palin honoring her commitment to attend, and we appreciate her public support of our effort to pass this important voter initiative to protect the rights of parents and the health of teenage girls.”

  28. GinaM says:

    Hmpft….Looks like see 4 pee’rs got there orders. The newest/latest is to throw Minnery under the bus. Wow…those folks don’t realize they are messing with the church! Good luck with that one.

  29. Bystander says:

    Palin’s theme song, (originally written by Willy Nelson, and perfomed by Patsy Cline): “Crazy, I’m crazy for being so lonely, Crazy, I’m crazy for being so blue… I’m crazy for lyin’, crazy for not tryin’ and crazy for foolin’ you….;”

  30. too much insanity says:

    Do they think SarahPac is a governor staff?
    Is SarahPac acting as a governor staff?
    It’s about time someone gets to the bottom of this.
    Too much insanity.

  31. pacos_gal says:

    Yep KateinCanada, that is the problem, they are in touch with a Governors staff, but since Palin isn’t a Governor, wonder whose Governor they were talking to. Betcha it wasn’t Alaska’s which would be Parnell. 🙂
    Now that just sent me into a laughing meltdown.

  32. KateinCanada says:

    Re #153
    “We have been in regular communications with the Governor’s staff over the last several weeks.”
    Ah- there’s the crunch- they haven’t figured out she’s no longer Governor. Maybe Parnell will show up as his staff have promised.

  33. doglover says:

    Oops, she did it again. You would think these groups would wise up and realize that they are being played. Since there is much speculation on where SP is hiding out, maybe she pulled a Britney & shaved her head ? or it may have been a serious “bump it” accident ????

  34. KateinCanada says:

    Sue #136-
    SP probably doesn’t need surgery because her balancing act is so good. What do you think- did 3 medium sized lies and a couple of whoppers grow her nose enough to need one cut-off-my-nose-to-spite-my-face no-show to return it to normal?

  35. tamara says:

    Sorry if this has already have been posted. This is the update from the alaska family council web page :

    “Media reports in the last 24 hours have quoted the Governor’s spokeswoman as saying that Mrs. Palin never committed to attend the event, and that she will not be present this evening.

    We have been in regular communications with the Governor’s staff over the last several weeks. We were assured that Governor Palin was personally aware of this evening’s event, and that she twice confirmed her intent to participate.

    I really think that the f%&/(k up is in the palin camp, once more.
    To add to AKM’s list of no shows, I remember that mess up at some vet. event in Alaska where she was supposed to speak, then not speak, then came late and wanted to be up on the stage with her very short skirt.

  36. Jodie Clarke says:

    Anchorage residents need to determine how we can move to have these large membership churches (Prevo’s and ChangePoint) taxed (real estate) like the rest of us. Our City is operating in a deficit this year and is projected to again in 2010. Don’t you agree that it would only be fair? The fact the religious are intermingling so avidly with our city government is an abhorrence and that also needs to be rectified.

    As to Palin, she is an embarrassment to Alaska! I fail to see how her ‘book’ is going to sell…unless Limbaugh and Beck purchase carloads of them and provide them to their followers.

  37. Say NO to Palin in Politics says:

    I’ve been thinking about Scarah not showing up tonight, like others have said this is very odd, this was ‘HER’ piece of legislation, why would she not be there to support it? It makes no sense.

    Has she just thrown this whole group under the bus? And all of Alaska? She’s just not that into you anymore?

    I guess at least it sealed her political fate, her goose is offically cooked. She’ll never live this down. Abortion is a big issue in the Republican Party.

    It makes me think she’s going national tv with Fake Noise, there she can have her crappy opinion and celebrity, she’ll also find out the tv scene is just as brutal as politics.

    But, also too, when in rehab or mental health recovery they most likely remove all media, limit phone calls and make one focus on personal health.

    Also too too, Meg, Kristen and who know else sure do have cush jobs doing nothing, eh? Also too too too, just cuz Meg says she’s out of AK doesn’t mean that is true. But she most likely is, otherwise someone would have seen her, but she can’t be getting very social in the lower 48 or word she was seen would get around. It’s weird.

    when was the last sighting anyway? the dinner with late night call to reporter in NY?

  38. nswfm CA says:

    The new HD TV will make anyone look horrible. I was invited to watch the Dem Convention and opening of the Olympics at a home (with an electronics-obsessed retired electrical engineer and others) on a 62″ screen. You could see every pore, bead of sweat, pimple, etc. as if you had a magnifying glass. I have good eyesight and it scarred me from ever wanting to see such a thing again.

    Her face didn’t move in one of the interviews on Fox in the early part of the year, maybe Beck or Hannity. It was the episode where her hair was down and disheveled looking. I think Palingates had a photo where her teeth were straight across on the front teeth, like they’d been worn down with age, but at the Quitnics, they weren’t and were rounded (Probably like the disgraced Carrie Prejean, former Miss CA).

  39. North_of_the_Range says:

    What’s going on with ChangeFront, errr, ChangePoint church, Alaska Family Council, political influence, tax-exempt status, etc etc etc? At least by bailing on their event, SP is focusing attention on these folks. That’s one useful thing to come out of it.

  40. lexky says:

    i have a vision of her sitting at a desk, someone trying to teach her where africa is and smacking her hand with a ruler each time she gets it wrong

  41. jc in co says:

    I bet she doesn’t write thank you notes either. Talk about lack of manners.

  42. skip from Asheville, NC says:

    Palin, unemployed, with a paid handler, Meg, sure have problems keeping a schedule straight! What would she be doing with a real job as far as a schedule?

  43. not that sarah says:

    Redone teeth are veneers. Most celebrities and many of the Fox anchors (females) have them. It’s pretty common place. Paula Deen’s new teeth, Norm Colemans, Hillary Duff, etc. It’s a fad of some sort.

    While I’m betting on the surgery, I’d buy a mental breakdown of sorts as well.

  44. let it run says:

    @137 I agree and (also) how can you have your teeth “re-done” ? Retainer? braces? Not a big deal if she had them whitened or straightened. I even get the “facial work” not that she needs/needed any (as some here may think) . You have to admit, when she is photographed it is at a nano -seconds at a time and even a mid-blink or mid speech it can be disorting. My hunch is that it is a mental health issue – probably exhaustion, which I can also understand. ( I guess I am being too dang understanding right now…gotta go!)

    AKM: How about taking blog-wide wagers on reason behind the “Where’s Sarah: August 2009?” LET’S SEE WHO THE WINNER IS!

  45. Curtis E. Mayle says:

    Gassman, I’ve found that people who “shoot from the hip”, do so because they are unable or unwilling to exercise discipline. Period.

    Their, or their supporters’, attempts to paint this behavior as honorable or colorful, i.e., maverick, are either ignorant, disingenuous, or mendacious.

  46. mommom says:

    Samper-

    I think she has had work done already.At the very least Botox and/or Restylane.She would get kind of tired and older looking,then suddenly look fresh and line free. Those furrows next to her mouth would appear,then a week or two later,voila!! They were gone.

    May very well be some of the reason why she would not release her medical records,you know.

  47. trisha says:

    Does Palin know that Beck is a Mormon? I wonder how the Evangelical community feels about Palin promoting Beck. The Evangelicals believe that the Mormon’s are of the devil and are going straight to Hell.

    Maybe Beck gets a pass because he is dissing President Obama.

    But, then again, the Mormon’s believe that the Evangelicals are damned. So Beck believes that Palin is going straight to Hell.

    What odd bedfellows.

  48. trisha says:

    fawnskin, look at some recent photos of Palin. Her teeth are a different shape.
    Either she had them reshaped or got veneers. They are whiter too.

    What’s for dinner Blanche Sarah? Rabbit?

  55. Lori in Los Angeles says:

    SouthPaw – I live near enough to Simi to know some of those Republican women. Last I heard, Scarah was replaced with John Ziegler – dunno if he showed up. Those women (one who is actually a friend of mine) are too classy to say anything against fellow Republican Palin – but their silence and pursed lips on that subject is very telling.

  56. not that sarah says:

    Palin is pretty. But what we think of as pretty isn’t the same as what works for a narcissist who wants to be seen as a beauty, always. And then (also, too) there’s her version of herself, which is as a celebrity, not as a politician.

    She already got herself new teeth, which is all the rage right now (from Paula Deen to Norm Coleman, etc). And you know how narcissists want what everyone else has? She’s obsessed with doing what Hollywood celebrities and Fox News anchors do (Palin’s original teeth were pretty!). She strikes me as incredibly insecure, in the way that only a narcissist can be. Remember the Wasilla Hillbilly looting Neiman’s episode? Palin wants to be one of the elite so badly she can taste it.

    I’m betting on a mid-face lift for Palin, plus a neck lift to tighten the area under her chin. She’s been out a few weeks now, for the swelling. When she comes back, if it was done well, we won’t see a different Palin. Just a Palin who’s profile pics don’t need to be photoshopped and who can turn her face out of the lights without shadows making her look “old” due to shadows and sagging (see Turkey video for examples of this- look at the shadows on the sides of her mouth and chin, and her chin line).

    I, for one, think a beautiful woman who ages naturally is sexy — but, I understand and even have empathy for any woman who is in the public eye a lot and decides to have surgery to refresh herself. It must be devastating to hear people comment on the aging of your face when you were second runner up in Miss AK and you’re a narcissist. Seriously.

    And the media people she wants to run with probably suggested to her, oh so gently, that a certain dr in NY was the guy to go to to fix all of her woes. I don’t begrudge her this at all, in fact, some small part of me feels sorry for her. I’m sure she thought she was all that and a bag of chips — and then she went to play with the big boys and found out that she’s lacking in every area. What can she fix? Her outside.

    I don’t have words to express how cruel the entertainment business can be on women when it comes to their looks; I once heard a 26 year old A list actress’s facial shadows being debated as a real problem.

    So, while I’m betting this is where she is, I don’t hold it against her. There are plenty of other things to hold against her that have nothing to do with her exterior, and they’re far more important in the big scheme of things.

    I do begrudge her failure to distinguish the difference between wanting to be Paris Hilton and wanting to be Barack Obama. Now, that, mudflatters, is a real problem!

  57. trisha says:

    Her loyal….cult members….errrrr….I mean fans, are taking it as a “sign” that Palin said to “watch Beck” from her facebook page. They are dizzy with excitment over the secret meaning of this, and one even posted….”she’s coming…..she’s coming”.

    Wow….she’s coming?…….as if she were the second coming of Christ. These people have really gone over the edge. What’s that passage about NOT worshiping false idols?

    Maybe Palin will rise up out of the mist and walk across Bristol Bay for her second coming.

  58. SouthPaw says:

    The OC Repug Register, glossed over this one…

    I just imagined all those Nancy Reagan wannabe ladies in their St. John’s knit suits and well coifed hair dolling out beau coup bucks just to see Snow Flake and then she’s a NO SHOW. Would have loved to been a fly on the wall for that one. Never did hear who they replaced her with.

    What a Dip Schtick!

  59. honestyinGov says:

    Oh…. and I forgot to mention.

    If you go to that ADN article there were about 6 pages of comments last night.
    If sure there are many more now. They were all negative and brutal.
    Her Fans from ‘ that site ‘ and others are no longer commenting there, at least not on this story. Can’t defend these sort of actions or craziness.

    And ADN needs to remove the Palin Profile Page that they are still promoting there. ADN… get over her. Stop pining for her.

    She’s now playing the part of Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction… in the role of the ‘ angry bitter Girfriend’. ADN… be verrrrrrry careful. Close and lock that door behind You. It’s getting very scary now . Watch your ‘ back ‘.

  60. Kat says:

    Since no one can predict Crazy Woman’s next move, let me throw out a couple speculations.

    Since she who-must-be-worshipped sent out invitations to watch Glenn Beck, maybe she got a better offer to be on his show.

    She might have deliberately dissed the Alaska Family council event because Minnery publicly criticized her for the Supreme Court judge appointment. He later apologized, but knowing how vindictive she-who-must-be-obeyed is, she wouldn’t hesitate to try to humiliate him at the expense of the bill she supports and her base. Once again cutting off her nose to spite her face.

  61. Sarah Palin has a track record of being unreliable and in my opinion totally irrelevant.

  62. SMR says:

    My aunt has turned into a total nutter since attending Change Point church. Absolutely insane. Then there is the boy who committed suicide a few years back — his family was a big Change Point fanbase group. Seems to me that I recall Change Point being a huge issue in that. Perhaps he was gay and tormented by the church’s teachings? Perhaps things just got too odd in his house? I can’t recall the particulars, but do recall that when I heard it and added it to the insanity of my aunt since attending there that it all seemed reasonable to me. My aunt’s husband won’t go to that church w/her — he says they’re all nuts and making her nuts.

  64. Lori in Los Angeles says:

    This “event” at the church in Anchorage worries me – with or without Miss Scarah.
    The church boasts 4500 members. Add Prevo’s Baptist mega-church and viola!
    THEY are in control of the government up there. Just look at what they did to the anti-discrimination bill re Gay/transgenders. Sullivan bowed to their pressure, so now it is a-ok to discriminate against fellow citizens. Next up-teen girls, even rape victims, forced to have babies. This is very dangerous stuff. They will get away with this, and who is next? Who will they “come for” next time around? Natives? People of color? All women? It is like the xtain Taliban up there! And to top it off, this obvious lobby is getting tax-exempt status! It is horrifying to witnesss this stuff happening in the U.S.

  65. honestyinGov says:

    I’m still thinking that a Group could organize with a protest outside this location tonight. Anybody linked to Scarah at the moment comes off badly.
    Mayor Sullivan in Anchorage for vetoing the 64 legislation. They ( GLBT group ) protested outside His bar last week.

    I would think that THIS church also holds Jerry Prevo’s views.
    Use the opportunity to raise a voice. Maybe the ” Where’s Sarah ” signs and the 64 message of protest against Sullivan. Send a mesage to this Church and Sullivan.
    They have all day to organize and put something together. Get the message back in the News as well…. IF the ADN was a REAL newspaper.

  67. karen marie says:

    Some people that I went to high school with are on Facebook so I joined to catch up with them. Unfortunately, this put me within commenting distance of La Palin’s Facebook page.

    It’s like shooting fish in a barrel.

  68. samper says:

    I don’t buy into the plastic surgery thing.

    As much as I loathe her, her mindset, her minions, and her moronity (just made that word up… check Webster’s for its inclusion in the next edition), she is a very pretty woman.

    What on earth could she need to “fix” physically?

    That said, even at 46, my own mother would have a strongly worded lecture for me if I developed a “pattern” of being a no-show.

    You RSVP immediately (“don’t wait for better offers, don’t insult the host”), and you do it with your honest intention. If circumstances change, you let the host know immediately.

    As Mom would say… “THAT is how you were raised!” Mom feels like my social faux pas would reflect on her success as a parent. To a degree, I agree. However, I’m still an adult now. It’s not like I’m 5 and forced to send Xmas Thank You notes.

    But my ethic comes from Mom and her outstanding etiquette lessons. You don’t screw over someone who was generous enough to invite you in the first place.

  69. Wurzelhexli says:

    Of course she can’t attend!
    Three reasons for her non-appearance:

    1) She is still recovering from her plastic surgery. (Remember, they are preparing us for it by having scrapped all her FaceBook pictures…)

    2)After the plastic surgery, she went totally over-the-top when she looked into the mirror and saw a misshapen face (could not be made to understand that a swollen face is normal after plastic surgery) and had to be committed to Bellevue.

    3) She had not been told that Star P. is a black woman. She lost to a black beauty contestant and still cannot forget that traumatic experience.
    During the last couple of days, she also realized that Star P. supposedly had FOUR abortions, and she cannot be onstage with a woman like THAT!

  71. mlaiuppa says:

    She is beyond a joke now. How many times has she bailed? How many times has she used that tired excuse? No one is going to invite her to speak. Even if they get a confirmation, they don’t have one. And no one knows what kind of hoops they have to go through to make sure she will actually show up. And she still might not.

    If her resignation didn’t solidify her reputation as a quitter, these constant cancelations using whatever excuse du jour have. Not even sure this is big enough to register on David Letterman’s radar. Stewart and Colbert are on hiatus for 3 weeks.

    If her political career wasn’t over before, it certainly is now. Even her own party can’t depend on her. And face it. She can’t start her own party. She has less supporters than Ron Paul. Her base will NOT desert the Republican Party to join Sarah’s Party to Nowhere.

  73. InJuneau says:

    sue–actually, she called the morning of the event and demanded to be allowed to sit on stage and talk (they made her talk before the ceremony started so she wouldn’t mess up what was on the program!).

  74. BahstinBoyo aka Wrangler Tractor Palin says:

    In this day and age, I, for one, cannot understand why she can’t be found! She’s no Jason Bourne! She has family, she has children, she has a husband, she has a slew of staff members… NONE of which can be found? We need a ‘Where’s Waldo’ or a ‘Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego’ kind of nationwide hunt for her ness. SOMEONE has seen or knows SOMETHING! I’m still holding out for the 30-60-90 day psych rehab in the desert somewhere. Just review her actions in the last weeks or so before and after her decision to flee. I think she DID toss that ring in the lake! I think she DID come apart after that lakeside diatribe. I think she just barely made it into the rehab facility before she went postal. (No offense to the fine folks at the USPS!) There haven’t been any tweets not because she didn’t have the means… she didn’t have the faculty to do so. She hasn’t written ANY of the FB posts… not one word on tape or an image on video. Offer up some kind of reward and have Keith post it on Countdown. Something. ANYTHING!

    Where’s Sarah ?????????????????????

    I’d thought at first there might be some kind of R & R, but this really does seem to fit under the “Too Weird” label.

  79. sue says:

    I remember the past Memorial Day event in Anchorage where Bimbo Barbie wouldn’t response to several requests for her attendance and words.

    Finally, after not getting a response, they went to press with their programs and left out Bimbo’s name.

    Then the night before the event she demanded to be placed front-and-center stage and give a speech. So… they made room for her.

    We all remember that pic in the ADN showing her sitting on stage with a mini skirt up the wazoo and high-heeled sandals at this solemn ceremony honoring our “dedicated vets and troops”.

    What a sl*t!

  80. zyggy says:

    Palin isn’t worth our time, she is lousy at everything, she doesn’t deserve anything newsworthy because she isn’t. She needs to go back to Wasilla and work as a gas station attendant because that’s about all she is capable of.

  81. callersdaughter says:

    This no-show act isn’t new for Palin. If you look back to her run for Gov, you’ll find other engagements and events that she didn’t show for, due to “scheduling conflicts” or “miscommunication.” But it has never been her fault.

    She doesn’t seem to mind that this was a big swipe at her base here in AK–another casualty under the bus. It’s pretty obvious she doesn’t care what we think anymore. I think she’s in a Karl Rovian camp, where they are trying to program her with a few more talking points. That would boost her total talking points from 5 (1. God Bless America! 2. Support our troops! 3. Hockey mom, regular gal! 4. Clean, green, natural gas to Hungry markets! 5. Mainstream media bad!) to 6 or 7. Good luck with that.

    $10 bucks “Mug” is not even in Alaksa. Speaking of “sightings” has anyone seen Mug ? in Alaska?

    Not that SP is there either but it explains this nonsense of we “never received an invitation.” That’s getting very old. Clearly Mug has also lost her lifeline to Sarah. A lifeline is harder to maintain from New York or DC than it is in Alaska, Mug.

    SP is recovering from “something” that is for sure….not like her to stay out of the limelight. I can “get” laying low for a week…needing some rest etc but for her to go this long without twitter, FB ( I also believe there is a ghost writer there), phones etc…something’s fishy. Even Todd and Bristol are laying low….

    hmmmm..anyone out there with “real scoop” on this?

    { and if you do… we need some pictures }

    Anchorage folks… organize!

  84. Gasman says:

    Yesterday on Gryphen’s site, I mused that she is simply trying to extort money from these groups. I think that she gives a verbal commitment to attend, maybe even agrees on a price. She stalls and delays on signing a contract until the event has already been hyped and publicized. She believes that the event could not possibly go on without her, since she is the only reason people would come to the event. Then, when a contract can wait no longer, she springs a ridiculously inflated price upon the organizers. They balk at the extortion and she makes a very public display about not attending the event.

    I think that she has a vastly inflated sense of her potential earning power at these events. She knows that she is a star and expects to be paid like one. She thinks that the sky is the limit on what price she can demand. I’m guessing that she is asking 10 times – or more – what anyone is willing to pay. It has to be a ridiculously outrageous fee, since no group has had her speak in months, even after the events have been widely publicized. She notices what individual local bloggers write, it is not credible to believe that she would be unaware of her being used to hype any or all of the above events. Hell, I heard about most of those on CNN or MSNBC down here in NM.

    Sarah – and her idiot posse – seems to navigate through life on the assumption that shootin’ from the hip is always the best strategy. No matter what the reasons for dropping out of these events, she is alienating the upper echelon of the people she most needs if she has designs on staying in the limelight. The ultra conservative movers and shakers that organize these events are the same people she will need to call on to help mobilize their groups and donate big bucks if Palin does try to run for president. Pissing off these people is NOT what she needs to be doing right now. She was dumb enough to pull this stunt for an event at the Reagan Library – the conservative Vatican. She might as well have pissed on St. Ronnie’s grave.

    It certainly seems reckless for her to upset the only people of substance and power who are in a position to help her in any future political bid she might make. But hey, isn’t “Reckless” her middle name? It certainly isn’t “Wreckless.”

    Moveon.org is holding candlelight vigils across the country for health care, entitled “We can’t afford to wait” vigils. There are at least four in Metro Detroit alone.

    They are starting next week, but on the day I leave for Greece, so I can’t attend.

    Please log on and see if you can participate in your area! We must make our voices heard, even if we speak quietly or silently in numbers that can’t be ignored.

    And now, we resume regularly scheduled programming. 🙂

    (Sorry AKM and Snoskred! I just want as many as possible to see this message!)

    OH, I know! I’ll make it ON Topic by saying SP would probably RSVP (which they asked me to do) and then not show up!!!! 🙂

    Good save, Samper!

    PLEASE post o/t comments on the open thread. That way they won’t “sometimes lose popularity!” 😉 Thanks for future cooperation. AKM

  86. It’s not that I really care whether she shows up for anything or not, but I am glad to see that AKM is keeping track. We may need that list at some time in the future.

    My first thought about her being out of town again was the same as some of the rest of you. Who’s taking care of her kids? I’d assume that she has Trig with her, but the other kids should be home getting ready for school.

  87. 1smartcanerican says:

    Love the license plate – LOL!

    Not surprised that SWWNBN failed to show up to a well publicized event, but am concerned about her children. Where are they? Who is watching them? Some need to start school soon and one needs to have intensive therapy to lead to a useful life. Does anyone know if the kids are with her in nirvana or if they are in Alaska, maybe with grandparents?

  88. not that sarah says:

    @same old, I would’ve assumed the same thing, but you won’t believe this: actually, C-Street is ran by the same folks who are behind Palin’s church. A large Dominionist group whose sole mission is to overtake the government and turn the US into a theocracy. yes…it’s pretty gross.

    They’ve been grooming Palin for a long time.

    The C-Street boys may not like having a woman around unless she’s um..well, you know….but apparently they share the same agenda as Palin, and they know the game. Any puppet will do– so long as the public doesn’t get wind of the real trick.

    If you read up on these people, your skin will crawl. It’s pretty bad news. Turns out, the Republicans aren’t running dumb, hypocritical puppets by mistake. Yikes!

  90. Molly says:

    In the event my other post doesn’t make it through moderation–

    I am voting for “extreme makeover” recovery for the REAL reason for the no-show. Oh, and the makeover could be either physical or mental. Or both.

  91. Molly says:

    I agree with the poster who said this event/this speech is right up SP’s alley, in that she was very vocal about getting the parental notification thing made into law, even if she had to do it as a private citizen (which she IS, now…not GOV).

    So, yes, it seems like the perfect event for Ms. Palin to attend. Besides the other reasons others have speculated on for the non-appearance, let’s think of another one: having to appear onstage with an African American woman who has admitted to having four abortions? Because, from my viewpoint, SP is not one of those Christians who actually follows Jesus by being compassionate, but rather, is one of those “Christians” who like to judge and condemn others while they sit upon their hypocritical a**es and preach such things as personal responsibility and abstinence while taking no personal responsibility for anything and making exceptions for their own behavior and that of their children, and going so far as to cover up her oldest daughters pregnancy by pretending that Trig is her own. Her type of “Christian” believes that as long as you believe the “right” things, it doesn’t matter what you did–an nobody in the “outside world” needs to find out about it. This is apparently the essence of the “C” Street Gang, too…….so it doesn’t suprise me that others have mentioned her in connection with them!

    But personally? I’m voting for “recovering from extreme makeover” which could be either physical or mental, for the REAL reason for the no-show.

  92. karen marie says:

    OMG! I need a laugh today.

    I should know that I can always count on Bible Spice to be there with the hilarity when it’s needed most.

    I had a tough time going to sleep last night. It was like Christmas eve. Was I going to be surprised or disappointed when I awoke.

    Thank you, Sarah Palin, although you do surprise me at times that anyone who has achieved the kind of public responsibility and recognition that you have could be so uncompromisingly stupid, you never disappoint by actually doing whatever it is that you have been engaged to do.

    Hahahahahaha.

    [wiping tears of laughter from my eyes]

  93. Candy Knight says:

    What’s so bizarre is that she leaves these “I’m not coming” announcements to the last minute. We’ll be talking about some event she’s supposedly attending for weeks before Stapletongue will come out and say, “She never confirmed.”

    Note to Meg: if you want to be believed, the time to come out with that information is the instant news of Sarah’s anticipated attendance at an event hits the media. You don’t wait for weeks, let everyone talk about it and sell tickets, and then go, “What? Sarah’s not attending that function.”

    And as someone who is regularly invited to speak at luncheons and conferences, I can say that unless she’s negotiating a huge speaker’s fee there wouldn’t be a contract; it’s all done verbally or by email. While Sarah could no doubt command a hefty speaker’s fee from someplace like Regents University, the events she’s been bowing out of are not the kind that usually pay (the Reagan dinner gig being perhaps the exception).

    FYI for those of you Anchorage folks out there:

    Jim Minnery regularly hangs out at the McDonald’s on the corner of Lake Otis & Abbott, often wearing his “NOBAMA” hat. He’s buddies with the management and franchise owners (all religious wingnuts, btw). The same owners also run the Jewel Lake/Dimond McD’s. I only mention this so you can CHOOSE which McD’s to go to. I rarely go there now, only in “emergencies.”

    This initiative is affectionately known as the “Papa Pilgrim Bill”. It does nothing to help good families like ours and only hurts girls who come from troubled families where communication is a real issue.

    The wingnuts are using this as their first step towards making abortion illegal in Alaska. Interesting how wingnuts want to make abortion illegal but rarely are interested in adopting one of the 125,000 kids awaiting adoption in the US.

  98. Susie Snowflake says:

    How can this “church” be doing these political events and still get their tax exemptions? They sound as bad as Jerry Prevo’s palace at the Anchorage Baptist Temple, and we all know how politically active he and that church are. Are there any actions or efforts going on to do something about their tax-exempt status? It’s more important now that out municipality is facing such budget shortfalls, and we’re all having to pick up the slack for places such as these who don’t pay their fair share or any share for that matter of local taxes. This stinks and needs to get cleaned up. Any ideas out there?

    I am NOT inclined to believe that SEVERAL well organized and respected groups are just name dropping for cash when there is no agreement from SP to appear.

    I do find them to be a little thoughtless, however, in not getting a signed contract prior to printing the invitations and name cards.

    She now has a track record. Anyone not demanding written acceptance to the event and what her attendance will include is just stupid at this point.

    She lies incessantly. Why would we believe her and not the groups doing the events?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I concur. These groups (see below) are part of the well organized GOP machine. They have been fundraising for decades and do NOT make mistakes like that.
    Embarrassing themselves with the likes of Palin is simply not in their best interest, nor is it in their history of operation. Please!
    How do you think they could survive returning money, like Republican Women’s fundraiser was obliged to do?
    Palin is in over her head, Stapletounge is a hack and they are both a couple of small town hicks.
    The organizations that they screwed over were in Palin’s best interest to attend to…………..they were doing HER a favor, NOT the other way around.
    2. CPAC Conference- Smitten conservatives on Team Sarah had online groups saving pennies to go hear their idol speak at the convention. Cancelled at the last minute stating she had never said she would be there despite claims by the organizer and heavy promotion on the website.
    3. Republican Senate and House Fundraiser – According to organizers, she said yes to delivering the keynote address. Then she denied saying yes, and left the committee in the lurch forcing a last minute replacement by Newt Gingrich.
    3A. Republican Senate and House Fundraiser Take II – Invited a second time. Said yes she would, then no she wouldn’t, then got disinvited and replaced by Newt Gingrich, then said yes she would, then they said forget it, but then she did….sort of.
    4. Fancy Republican Women’s fundraiser in Simi Valley at Reagan Library – High priced tickets promoted online and sold, then the claim she never said she’d be there and money had to be refunded. Simultaneously thumbs nose at women, Republicans, rich people AND the ghost of Ronald Reagan.
    OR this could be a real positive sign that sarah is just leaving everything to her staff and they’ll be gone short term when uncle sean calls them back to cluster-fox for re-integration.
    It wasn’t a full post so it wasn’t in her notes section. I wish there was a “Sarah’s Crazy Talk” help line that we could just dial up when we needed to find something from her crazy files. “Hello – Scarah’s Archive of Insanity – Can I help you find an incomprehensible speech, blatant lie or snarky quote, today? “
    The invitation to watch Glen Beck on Facebook was obviously written by the ghostwriter hired by and paid for by guess who. It must be someone that represents the boss of Fox News that writes all of her posts.
  122. phoebe says:
    This is so cathartic. We haven’t had a good $arah bashing in a couple of weeks. It kind of purges the system. I guess Star Parker was not inclined to use birth control pills or to “just say no” .
  123. Leota2 says:
    Sarah Palin and Star Parker.
    Palin is the poster girl for “Nothing I’ve messed up is my fault.”
    Parker is the poster girl for ” I’ve messed up big time–repeatedly– and got breaks–now I don’t want ANYBODY else to get ANY breaks.”
    Lovely couple . . . .
  124. BuffaloGal says:
    Sorry! OT but I need some assistance. This is posted on today’s Open Thread, too.
    Am I entirely losing my mind? Didn’t Palin do a FB post in the past week re: the “death book” for the vets ? “Your Life, Your Choice”. Was that FB or did she state her case about it elsewhere? I thought for sure it was FB ( i think i even posted it at one point). I can’t find it and I have AmVets willing to make a statement about it if I’ll fwd it to them. Thank You !
  125. not that sarah says:
    What is it with these C Street Christian extremists not showing up for work, family, or events? Geeze. She and Gov (soon to be impeached) Sanford are shining a bright light on the poor work ethics of a certain segment of Republican candidates.
    I am not surprised at all. And I’m sure these groups had confirmation; after all, this has happened way too many times for the problem to be The Other Person’s Fault each time. Clearly, someone misleads these groups into thinking she will attend. Then, for whatever reason, Bitter Quitter gets upset about how they aren’t showing her deference, and she pulls the rug out from underneath them– always waiting until the last moment.
    Somewhere I read that she had been promised to be the “first signature” on this parental notification-bypass-the-legislature “bill”. She heard that they had other signatures, and she was miffed. They assured her that they had reserved a special first page just for her, but it was not enough to appease her. Punishment followed.
    Typical games of a NPD; played out nationally, it doesn’t fly as easily.
  126. JS in Chicago says:
    Note to all Christian conservative and right-wing organizations who claim that Sarah Palin will be attending and/or speaking at their event: Quit makin’ things up!! (and in the name of our brave warriors who fight so hard for your freedoms too, and support the military there also.)
  127. michigander says:
    ENOUGH @28 – I’m with you in regards to this group – I think they are disgusting (and misleading to say the least).
    I’m not surprised that the Palin camp has lied again but in this case it seems odd. Palin has pushed this parental consent/anti abortion bill for so long, an obsession with her IMO so I am starting to think something seriously weird/bad is keeping her in hiding.
  128. daisydem says:
    She’s out of town … again? still? Who gets that little child Piper ready for school? Does she ever go to school? I know we have all asked this before, just wish we knew.
  129. phoebe says:
    I was just going to ask who in the heck is Star Parker. That’s a rather impressive biography. Four abortions….woo hoo.
    I had been noticing towards the end of the quitter’s governership that she was developing a rather unsightly double chin. Maybe she’s off getting it fixed.
    Star Parker is one of my favorite hypocrites, who writes columns for the conservative magazine, Townhall. A quickie from Wiki:
    “Star Parker (born 1956) is an American author. Parker is also an advocate and spokesperson for mainstream American conservative causes. She holds an undergraduate degree in marketing.
    Parker is an African American woman who spent her teen and early adult years as an unemployed mother on welfare. She was arrested in her teens for shoplifting and has disclosed the fact that she has had four abortions.”
  134. pacos_gal says:
    If she wasn’t a speaker and just an invitee, then no need for a contract. If she is just an invitee, then a group should not be using her likeness/name for publicity for their event. If she was invited to speak, there should be a contract and if that contract isn’t honored then that should be publicized so that other groups don’t fall down the same hole. Very simple.
    I also would find it hard to believe that these well known groups aren’t under the impression that Palin will be attending when they publicize that she will be. Someone is giving them the impression at least that she will attend. However, if they used her likeness and said she would be there, without getting any kind of written contractual confirmation, then they shouldn’t be surprised when she doesn’t show and they have to start making refunds.
    How long before people who have paid money to just see SP, will start getting more irritated with SP than with the groups who said she would be there. Not long if things continue.
  135. Polly says:
    Minnery is kinda stupid too. Most event organizers get signed contracts from their main speakers.
  136. rebekkah says:
    Another thought, If SP had the presence of mind to invite her facebook friends to watch Glen Beck, why couldn’t she have taken a moment to reply to the Alaska Family Council about her absence.
    She is worked up about who runs things at the White House, but her promises to her constituents at the quitting speech are empty promises. Yeah, right……she can do a better job serving Alaskans without a title. Her supporters were depending on her to sign this petition – an aim that was supposedly close to SP’s heart?
    Folks, her entourage and followers are probably starting to feel that funny feeling that says, “this ain’t right”. They try to shake it off, but it’s there taunting them. Her star is fading. And, they are slowly realizing that.
  137. kareninTexas says:
    Star, I agree. You can fix stupid no matter how many cosmetic surgeries and embellishments you have. It’s plain and simple, yet her followers just don’t get it. Guess that means they are of the same mentality as she is….hopeless!
  138. jc in co says:
    she “had” posted, sorry…
  139. jc in co says:
    My first thought also, too was that the swelling and bruising from her Dr. 90210 surgery hadn’t healed yet. I also agree that she seriously might be bipolar. When I heard yesterday that she was posted crap about becky on her facebook I thought that movie has already been done; dumb & dumber, today I realize it’s the sequel: crazy & crazier…
  140. tigerwine says:
    Freakout #37 – I think this might be Bristol’s graduation. She got there, and they wouldn’t let her take “center stage” and made her sit in the audience.
  141. rebekkah says:
    This is not the actions of a rational person. I don’t care how many advisors/or no advisors are out there helping her, this behavior is going to be politically destructive for SP’s chances to be taken seriously as any contender for politics.
    Maybe the answer is here, that she is finished with politics.
    It’s just mind-baffling that SP would treat her hosts like this, leaving them in the lurch at the last moment. Who could anyone trust that in leadership? It’s really sad……sounds like some personal mental health issues at play.
  142. Star says:
    Can’t fix stupid…When will her groupies wake up and see her for what she really is..
  143. trisha says:
    My guess….Palin thought she would be “better” by now and agreed to speak, but she isn’t able to (for whatever reason) so she takes the low-road and blames it on the organization who asked her to speak.
    Based on all the rumors around Palin, “better” could mean a lot of different things.
    …stitches would be removed and swelling subsided
    …off the meds
    ….out of rehab
    ….not showing—bambino #5
    ….not crying over Todd
  144. LibertyLover says:
    Heh. Imagine if Palin does decide to run for President… Can you imagine all of the possible campaign stops “that she would not have agreed to attend” or “knew nothing about” possibilities? Hundreds of opportunities.
  145. trisha says:
    @31 Samper: I do find them to be a little thoughtless, however, in not getting a signed contract prior to printing the invitations and name cards.
    ________________________________________
    I was thinking that maybe they have a contract, but they are just not willing to throw “the chosen one” under the bus—publicly. “Outing” her only makes these groups look bad because they don’t want the “libs” to be right about P. It also shows that they have put their faith in a nut job like P. So, I think they cover for her or at least don’t publicly trash her.
  146. samper says:
    Yes, Freakout, there was. I THINK it might have been the gig where Gingrich had to replace her at the last minute.
    Sauerkraut: I’m a little confused. Are you calling Van Flea slime, SP slime or the organizations slime?
  147. samper says:
    Sauerkraut: There was a statement put out by Palin’s camp that Van Flea has to approve all invitations. If that is the case, you would think he would have the finger on the pulse of the Anchorage Social Scene to make sure that SP was not being defamed or used in any way inconsistent with his approval.
    If he bothered enough to send a 4 page letter to Gryphen for blogging about their pending divorce, he can bother to keep the invitation statement valid.
  148. Freakout in Kansas says:
    Wasn’t there also too some Alaska event where she actually said she would NOT attend and then showed up at the last minute and demanded to be seated up on the stage? I’m pretty sure AKM reported it here on the ‘flats.
    Yes, that was a memorial for Alaska servicemen and women. She refused to commit, and wasn’t even in the program, then showed up at the last minute and demanded to speak and to be seated on the stage. That was the infamous “micro mini” leg shot event. Oy. AKM
    ____________
    Nope. Slime is as slime does.
    Plus, who would pay his bill if he constantly sent out letters on her behalf? Does he have anything in writing from her for such work?
  151. samper says:
    Didn’t stapleton say in a twitter or facebook thing that ALL invitations have to run through Fleabag?
    Oh, wait… normal people don’t check SP’s twitter or FB page for rules on extending invitations.
  152. samper says:
    Mudbug: You are correct on etiquette, but she CAN’T use “Gov” anymore. She quit without fulfilling her commitment. She doesn’t GET the title anymore.
    There ARE the rumors of the marital problems… maybe she is trying on the etiquette for a “single woman with children”????
  153. reepicheep says:
    Sauerkraut. Don’tcha think that if someone was using Palins name for weeks and weeks and weeks, promoting their gig, Van flea would have put a stop to it?
  155. samper says:
    I am NOT inclined to believe that SEVERAL well organized and respected groups are just name dropping for cash when there is no agreement from SP to appear.
    I do find them to be a little thoughtless, however, in not getting a signed contract prior to printing the invitations and name cards.
    She now has a track record. Anyone not demanding written acceptance to the event and what her attendance will include is just stupid at this point.
    She lies incessantly. Why would we believe her and not the groups doing the events?
  156. Mudbug says:
    If she’s ‘out of state’ as meggie the mouth claims, where is she, and who’s careing for her special needs child that needs early intervention? She sent out a statement on Kennedy’s death and signed it “Sarah Palin and Family.” This is proper ettiquete for a widow or single woman with children. But a married woman would have wrote “Todd and Sarah Palin and Family” or even “Todd and Gov. Sarah Palin and Family” or Mr. and Mrs. Todd Palin and Family. Not the ego ‘Sarah Palin and Family”.
    Who’s watching the kiddies? They deserve so much better.
  157. debinOH says:
    Wow, on one hand I am shocked that she is not showing but at the same time I am not surprised at all. I don’t know how she expects to get any speaking engaments in the future with her track record. She could make a fortune doing that (unfortunately for all the normal people here).
    I think her and Glenn Beck need to take some serious time off.
  158. ENOUGHwiththetrainwreck says:
    girl just can’t get her act together eh? that detox is harder than it sounds apparently…….or she didn’t show up for that either.
    now about that graphic — seems like they should have photos of the convicted rapist photoshopped in with the “happy family” photos…….or at least label the people in the photo to show which one was involved in the incestuous pregnancy. THAT would be honest. not the pictures of happy families when you are promoting the removal of a victim’s right to choose what to do with her body after being abused, raped, or whathaveyou.
    the concept of the meeting made me ill from the beginning. still does. with or without queen quitterpants.
  159. sauerkraut says:
    These groups that highlight her as a featured speaker are either clueless or using her name without permission.
    Or, she’s a liar when it comes to her continual denials and no-shows.
    Either way, groups ought to consider themselves on notice as to her real intentions. The real question is whether the groups are falsely billing her appearance(s) in an effort to raise money, knowing all the while that she will not attend. False advertising, if that’s the case. People should not be mislead in this fashion regardless of political affiliation or preference.
  160. nswfm CA says:
    Forgot to say that graphic is GREAT!
    (#8 about the NYS blog, my suggestions include the Gov race, the Gov’s interaction with the Legislature and the CRAZY that went on with the coup in Albany. (Not throwing stones, because we have nuts in Sacramento, too.))
  161. samper says:
    I’m SHOCKED, I tell you! SHOCKED! not.
    So she receives an invitation that HAS HER OWN NAME ON IT AS THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER and she doesn’t appropriately respond?
    I can see perhaps ONE invitation being a matter of “bad communication”, but she’s running a rap sheet on this stuff as long as my arm.
    Are we to believe that all of these respectable groups are just using her name to draw crowds when she knows nothing of the events?
    PUHLEEEEZE!
  162. lilybart says:
    But, but….that is why she quit! She said that as
    a private citizen she would personally take up the cause of parental interference, I mean , notification. She was personally going to lead this charge since she failed to get a law passed.
    I was sure that, like the Right to Life gig, she would not pass up an event on the one issue she understands.
    Seriously though, this is very odd.
    And why I should be surprised that she behaves oddly, is also odd!
  163. nswfm CA says:
    If she is bipolar, someone in that family needs to get her medical care, but if it is NPD, evidently those with NPD are untreatable because of their lying ways. After seeing pics of her teeth before and after on Palingates, I’m leaning towards NPD and plastic surgery that’s taking a longer time for the bruises and swelling to go away. I think subsequent photos should be analyzed for her nose. They might be trying to get rid of that Pinnocchio thing.
    Back from a quick trip over to the sea of peez and it seems the fault for this fiasco lies with : 1) Minnery because he doesn’t have a brain 2) the bloggers for repeating news about events scarah’s only been “invited” to but has not accepted and 3) there’s someone in her camp that is out to get her and is accepting invites in her name and not passing along the info or 4) a variation on #3 – there is someone NOT in her camp but that is pretending to be in her camp that somehow has set up a contact # that LOOKS like a palin contact # and they’re accepting invites to make her look bad and 5) the organizations themselves who are trying to make $$ by saying that palin will be there even tho they know she won’t be.
This is the kind of event though that she would support because, you know, the gov’t shouldn’t get into the family/doctor/councelor’s decision, you know, unless the family/doctor/councelor decides that getting the abortion is the best thing to do – THEN, no wait, wait, it isn’t the family’s choice anymore because I (Palin) don’t agree with you, so we need the gov’t to tell the family/doctor/councelor what to do. The hypocrisy never ends.
    But now that he is being treated for bipolar disorder he is much better.
    Tick tock Sarah . . . . . it wil only get worse. Hysterical death panel rantings,
    facts about banks so wrong it’s sad, and now trying to whip up an even bigger audiance for a man (Beck) who is not being treated for his own paranoid illness. I’d laugh but you have kids.
    Imagine shamelessly using Sarah’s name and image to raise money without ever even contacting her or her Meg.
    Maybe if they don’t sue it will establish the precedent that it is OK now to claiM Palin will be at your event, use her image and name to sucker some Palinbots to send you money, and then claim she never was even invited.
