McMentum Starting to Show in Polls
The Anchorage Daily News Politics Blog has a post up talking about the results of a new poll on the Alaska Senate race.
The Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of 500 likely voters in Alaska found Joe Miller with 35 percent support and Lisa Murkowski at 34 percent, with Scott McAdams coming in at 27 percent support.
Rasmussen noted the problems in polling Murkowski’s support accurately. “Polling for write-in campaigns is always challenging, so results should be interpreted with caution,” the pollster said.
The survey was Oct. 13 with margin of error of 4.5 percent.
The poll by the Club for Growth, a Washington D.C. anti-tax group that’s backing Miller, found it to be a three-way horserace, with Miller at 33 percent, Murkowski at 31 percent and McAdams at 27 percent.
I was on the Shannyn Moore Show today for my regular appearance on Thursdays in the Mud, and we talked to polling and numbers guru Tom Begich about the poll. He noted that this poll confirms the overall trend of polling in the last weeks which shows that Scott McAdams is picking up momentum, Lisa Murkowski votes are overrepresented (not accounting for voter error, change of heart, and legal challenges) and her trend is down, and Joe Miller has hit his ceiling with nowhere else to go.
Remember too that Rasmussen typically tilts to the right.
So, assuming those errors which are inevitable, things are looking pretty good for Scott McAdams. His incredible performance at the Chamber of Commerce candidate forum, and at two recent packed town hall meetings have helped.

I get political polls from some Polls I belong to that you can win prises from or cash when ya get points for answering questions.Some of them do get into the political but not as far as telephone polls go but they all do not let ya give a decent answer Like I am pro-life but also pro choice and no one can tell me i have to be one or the other.Someone on another blog tried to tell me I could not be both but the way I see it is the anti abortionist are not pro life because they kill for their cause and believe it is ok,also many believe in the death penalty.I do not believe in abortions as a form of birth control as it seemed to be when it first was being done but I also believe it is a woman’s body and-her decision if her life is in danger,or for rape or incest to have an abortion

Answered a new telephone poll last night, seemed to be where Murky would end up, top, bottom or middle. I put her square in the middle with Scott way on top and Miller in the basement. I think the question was about 1st 2nd and 3rd choices on the ballot. I didn’t want to give LESA any credit, BUT if it was only a choice between HER and Miller, I’d have to say her, barely. I’d hate it, but that’s what I’d have to answer. I’m hoping this poll might give Scott a little more edge!!! But don’t know who was taking it, for whom, or when results would be posted.
Just watched some of the Chamber debate on YouTube, and I have to say, McAdams looks like the real deal. He just might pull this off, after all.

Yeah…the whole “vote your values not your fear” is starting to wiggle it’s way back in my heart. 🙂 Where we progressives really have our work cut out for us in the years ahead is making a no holds barred case for our values…we’ve been on the ropes too long, letting the evil neocons pervert what our values really are. And I think out of that defensive crouch, we’ve allowed ourselves to vote for the “lesser of two evils” time and time again.

This lowish-income Californian sent $50 to Scott McAdams hoping to get better bang for my bucks. A single dollar contributed in the Alaska Senate race is something like 37 dollars in California’s. Come on, folks, we can boost Scott ahead of those troglodytes!
A retired government employee has a premium of around $1300 per month. The spouse gets zip as far as preventive goes. When the retiree hits 65 Medicare rules kick in as the primary rules. If the retiree or spouse is not employed and covered in a group plan the retiree insurance is secondary to MC insurance. If MC won’t pay, neither will the secondary pay. Most tier I retirees will not be pleased when they find this out. However, happily for the insurance company receiving the premiums the $1300 plus per month per retiree will continuously be paid; though the claims for the retiree will almost never be paid again. Good deal for them. No wonder the repubs don’t want health care to be enacted. Better to have the frivolous lawsuit instead of coverages. Look up vote for what’s her name’s boyfriend. Instead of your interests. Geesh.

Worth noting that starting yesterday any money spent in Federal campaigns will not have to be reported until after the election; Oct 13 was the last day that will be included on Federal election reports filed before voting day. Just say’n.
I don’t understand how any democrat could vote for either Miller or Murkowski after comparing the two of them to McAdams. I have been impressed each time I have heard him, but I haven’t heard him nearly enough. I wish he were on TV as often as the other two, but they sure stole the show in this election. If he doesn’t win, and I really hope he does, I hope he will consider running for some other office inside the State as soon as he can. God help us if Miller wins – what a colossal embarrassment.
I’m not a Democrat anymore. I was before Bill Clinton and his conservative crew took over the party. Funny the same folks are now handling Obama; same game different day. I’m not thrilled by any of the candidates for the US Senate – none of the M&Ms impress me much. They all, Democrats included want to rip up Alaska, my state, so that we can be “developed” like the all the lower 48 States (paraphrasing McAdams at the Chamber debates). I don’t think on the scale that ruined the state I grew up in, Wisconsin, is the best way to go for Alaska. Wilderness, what little remains here is worth big $$$ – don’t kid yourselves – and don’t believe the dribble from the naysayers, paid off for the most part, that claim “wilderness” won’t provide a viable income stream.
Alaska can be developed, as long as we protect the environment, animals, and follow all the safety rules set forth by experts. I came to Alaska in 1965. We can’t go back to those days no matter how much we would like it. Development is coming and you are being unrealistic.
CityKid I have to disagree with you about Wisconsin being ruined.,The south east is cities and subdivisions but west and north are still a place where you can go and enjoy the great outdoors.Turkeys are coming back and wolves are coming back..No way is Wisconsin ruined .The one thing I will say is the deer overpopulation is out of control in some areas JMO
Wisconsin is in “pretty good” shape compared to some other states, but it is not what it once was. Wisconsin is now on its “third” or perhaps “fourth” timber cut (trees are now used for paper making mostly). I am only aware of one small remaining stand of virgin forest in the state (on Trout Lake) – a very special place – but once you’ve been there you will realize what a spectacular place it must have been 100 years ago. I’m in my fifth decade now and fish from the Wisconsin River have not been edible in my lifetime (mercury mostly); “prize” fish sizes are 40% of what they were 40 years ago. All of Wisconsin’s major, once wild rivers, have been damned. Gloomy perhaps, but it’s why I’m so critical of resource “development” in Alaska – don’t think we humans are not capable of ruining this place.
If you saw this from my elderly Aleut aunt’s eyes, who was in the Matanuska Valley before the Colonists arrived, it’s even much more changed and different. They grew up as hunter / gatherer / live from what they could produce here.
She doesn’t complain about it all the time. She accepts the change and does what she can in her part of the world to instill the love of the land and respect for the bounty and space of Alaska, to neighbors, friends and young ones. If you are gloomy about Alaska’s fate all the time, then you miss the time you have to enjoy it, which is why you are here.
I think I understand what you are saying Martha. Most Alaskans could learn much from the indigenous people who are in many ways, culturally, are far wiser than more recent waves of immigrants, European or other. The last native group to give up a nomadic life style did so in the 1950s when they realized that without education they and their children would be doomed. But I would ask you to explain the suicide rate among natives here, and for that matter in the suicide rate for indigenous Americans in the rest of the United States. For more than half a century the suicide rate for Native Americans has been the highest of any identifiable demographic group – same in Canada; why is that? I don’t think all have coped with the issues they now face as well as your Aunt has.
Odd question and odd framing of it…
Why do Native peoples always have to explain the despair and hopelessness which have far too often overtaken them in this country?
As humans, the reasons are obvious, for human reasons.
Years and years of marginalization, patriarchial governmental policies which sought/seek to patronize and assimilate in the same breath, backroom stealing like the Cobell suit brought to light.
The list is endless and it breaks spirits- period.
This country well recognized the problems with defeated peoples after WWII and worked hard to push Germany and Japan toward economic prosperity.. but sort of skipped right on by seeing a similar necessity in dealing with indigenous peoples here…
Alaska’s peculiar, in the sense of singular, solution to land issues in ANSCA was presumed to settle much much more… and pave the way for assimilation… which has been resisted from day one.
At the core are human attitudes and responses to identity, community, culture which are accessible to all who cast a human eye on the issues.
And the settling down / ceasing nomadic existence thingy was rather more complicated than a mere vision of necessity of education…
Our Auntie is extraordinary for an ordinary person, for sure.
So many events in her story would have knocked most people completely off their foundations, never to recover.
She laughs a lot so most people miss the deep , quiet, almost still center of her strength .
We have lost some in the family to alcohol and despair but we all look to Auntie in hope we can find and nurture similar strength in ourselves.

One of the most refreshing things about Mr McAdams is he says things right out loud… like tribal sovereignty, problems with stand alone utilities in villages which rely on diesel power… etc, etc… doesn’t play footsie with issues urban Alaska loves to ignore and that the state has largely ignored or fought behind closed doors…

So now my choices are:
1) Joe Miller, who just wants to sell everything we own to anybody no matter where it is
2) Lisa Murkowski, who just wants to sell everything we own to the folks, outsiders mostly, that have been giving here money for the past 8 years.
3) Scott McAdams, who just wants to sell everything we own so that he can get elected (pro resource development Dems can get the job done), though he claims the profits will stay here because we exploitation will be carried out by “our own.”
How depressing.
Wish we could have a “none of the above” bubble on our ballots. That way maybe a party that really holds Alaska’s best interests at heart could get on the ballot in the next go around.
You have one. Write in “None of the Above” it in and fill in the oval. They will be reading all write ins for obvious reasons.
Why don’t you run for elected office next time on your own platform, CityKid? Seriously.
Of course, you’d have to stop your eternal grousing while you’re running the campaign, but that would be a “win” for everyone (including you)….even if you ultimately lost the election.
Thanks for the suggested Lee323, but I think my gloomy attitude is justified. In an interview on WNYC some years back James Carville replied to the same suggestion by noting that he had “inhaled.” I no longer have any desire to hold public office (I did once upon a time). While I’ve been the chair of several statewide campaigns, the treasurer for a couple of others (Wisconsin) and paid staff for 2 presidential candidates I stopped paying dues to the Democratic Party when Clinton and the BlueDogs took over the party. Since then I’ve watched the party shift further and further to the right while all the while “we” rationalized that “no matter what” we’d be better off with a Democrat than with a Republican. That approach has not served us well. When Howard Dean got behind the “Fifty State Strategy” I actually thought about rejoining the party. Alas, Dr. Dean found out the hard way that the BlueDogs were more interested in control and power, via party purse strings, than in having an energized and active base for the party (it’s easier to deliver “the goods” that way). Just like Clinton did many of the Dems in power now are just setting things up for the next shift to the right.

Quick question: Any of you get one of these poll calls on your cell phone? I never do…on my house phone, yes!, all the time; on my cell phone, never.
Another quick question: How many people do you know who don’t have landlines any more – who only have cell phones? My brother only has a cell, my Almost Daughter only has a cell, my older son only has a cell, my younger son only has a cell, — I’ve got many more in my immediate family who don’t have landlines, but for right now, those 4 will do.
The thing of it is: None of the 4 are *ever* phone polled; none of the 4 are *ever* asked *their* opinion(s) on candidates and/or political issues. None of the 4 are *ever* given the opportunity to have *their* voice tallied in any poll’s results. So, in essence, if all 4 are ‘progressives’ [which they are] and they *only* have cell phones, their leanings are never accounted for. And if I’m *not* a ‘progressive’ [which is about as absurd as an absurdity can get] but I *do* have a landline, my opinion is the only one counted. In this scenario, even though 4 out of 5 would *not* vote for Miller [or whoever] my anti-progressive opinion is the only one captured. Similarily, if the poll captures my [real] progressive leanings towards a candidate and/or political issue, that’s only one vote…if they captured those of my 4 family members, too, that’d be 5 total votes *for* the ‘progressive’ candidate/political issue. Big difference between that single ‘pro’ and 5 ‘pros’.
If one quarter -plus/minus- of homes in the US no longer have landlines (see link below), and if landliners tend to lean republican, then the numbers McAdams is polling seem pretty good to me. Damned good, in fact.
A third quick question: Of those folks you know who *only* have cell phones, how many of them are ‘more likely’ to watch FOX [and its talking (nonsense)heads] and/or ‘more likely’ to vote for Miller/Mercow…Mirkowch…Murcowkios… than, say, McAdams? Just sayin’… beth.

I have a land line, and get “polled” all the time. It is too difficult to call cells, as it has to be a live person, not an auto-poll. I agree, polls are biased. Of course, I’m not the stereotypical land liner whose a Republican (heh heh)… I love to answer out-of-the box, creating my own responses instead of picking one of the choices. 😉
[[Remembering also, too, that a “margin of error” of, say, plus *or* minus 4.5% –as in the Rasmussen Poll, above– means a ‘leader’ who has 35% to the ‘also-running’s’ 27%, might *really* only have 30.5% [35 minus 4.5] while the ‘also-running’ *really* has 31.5% [27 plus 4.5].
And, if the ‘leader’ has 33% and the ‘also-running’ has 27% (as reported by the Hair Gro…err, Club for Growth poll) when their 4.9% margin of error is looked at, what their poll findings might *really* mean, is: Miller has 28.1% [33 minus 4.9] to McAdams’ 31.9% [27 plus 4.9].
All in all, I’m liking Scott’s numbers…he needs *all* the sane folks in AK to help get them higher, but, considering where he was just a super short while ago, not too shabby. Not too shabby at all. beth.]]
We still have a land line and it’s the phone that gets the political calls. But your point is well taken. Our daughters and their husbands have cell phones and use those exclusively. Well, I take that back, one son-in-law has a land line for business use. I don’t know if he gets political calls on that or not.
But more and more young people use their cell phones only, with no land line in the house or apartment. And I know some who are older are doing the same thing. I wonder if the people touting the poll numbers are even taking that into consideration. Because, you are right, there are a lot of people out there who aren’t being given a chance to give their opinion (not to mention all of us who just choose not to answer when the call is “out of area”, “toll free”, or “private caller”).
Beth, you are absolutely right. I dropped my land line and use only cell. Thus, I get no pollsters. I don’t know whether more repugs have land lines than dems, but my guess is that they do. The 2008 election seems to support that theory. The dem voting outstripped the predictions made by the polls. Thus, the polls cannot be an accurate sampling of potential voters when an entire block of voters (those with only cells) aren’t included. I predict that the dems will quietly flock to the voting booths and stun the country and silence the ill-equiped candidates that have been fomenting hate and fear. I eagerly await November 3rd to be free from their noise.
Every time I read “Club for Growth,” I think of bad hair transplants.

Went to see McAdams in Fairbanks last night with a friend. Wow! He is articulate, demonstrates a depth of knowledge in many key areas, is honest and straight forward, can think on his feet, uses no notes and can deliver specifics/data/historical context/FACTS to support his views, connects with voters, and has an enjoyable sense of humor as well. I’d be proud to have him as an Alaskan senator. Mingled with several people who had been fence sitters before this town hall meeting. They came away very favorably impressed. There was definitely a feeling of momentum and “yes we can” to the gathering. Yes! So nice to sense a positive upswing in support for an intelligent and competent candidate.
That’s tremendous news! I wondered how that town hall was going to go!
And one other thing, Jaegermeister, Rasmussen’s polls are known for leaning Republican. And Club for Growth? Obvious.
Jaegermeister, we appreciate your concern, but Lisa has tremendous hurdles to overcome. Not everyone in this state is as plugged in to politics as we are. Most people when they walk into the voting booth look at the names on the ballot and mark the ones they want. Even one of our most popular and iconic politicians, Wally Hickel, was unable to win a write-in campaign when he mailed stickers to every single registered voter in Alaska (which is not allowed now). Lisa may be able to pull out a second-place finish since Joe is imploding, but I just don’t see her coming in first. She’s not that popular.

Um… anybody else just see Loren Leman interviewed on the Ch 2 news story about the Miller campaign? The reporter clearly said “Lt. Governor Loren Leman is a Joe Miller supporter”. Then they had a clip of Leman saying favorable things about Miller’s campaign.
It perked up my ears because State of Alaska employees are clearly and soundly reminded each election season that they may not endorse any party or candidate on state time or in a state bldg. They can’t even wear a candidate’s button at work. How can Leman wear his Lt. Gov’s hat as he endorses Miller on the statewide news? And although I would never put this type of thing past Leman (he’s a religious right, ultra-conservative wingnut) I couldn’t believe KTUU wouldn’t know better.
You probably know Leman was Frank Murkowski’s Lieutenant Governor; he’s not in office anymore, and I don’t believe he’s any longer a state employee. I think he can say whatever he wants, no matter how stupid.
Yeah, Leman’s been out since what 2006? And there’s definitely no surprise that he’s a Miller supporter.
Oops – Brain fart on my part. I dislike him so much I think I get shell-shock whenever I see him. They Did introduce him using a “Gov-something” title, so probably “former Lt. Gov”. He’s never “former” enough for me, though…
He’s not our Lt Gov anymore! They must have said “former Lt Gov”?
Lemon is in private business now – the reporter was either honoring him with his former title (a la the Quitter Half-Gov) or intentionally trying to slant the news.
Don’t get me wrong, I would like to the guy to succeed but I don’t see how these latest polls show any kind of momentum for McAdams. Since it became a three-way race (and prior to these two polls) McAdams polled between 19 and 28 percent. So now we have two polls both of which are showing him at 27 percent. That’s not momentum. More significantly Rasmussen is the first polling organization that has done two polls.

I think McAdams has a chance but he really needs to kick it into high gear.
McAdams is in such high gear that the polls can’t catch up with him fast enough.

Feeling SO good tonight!!
I stopped at the McAdams Campaign Headquarters at lunchtime and signed up to volunteer. Also picked up a couple of yard signs and intersection-waving signs, a few campaign signs for my car windows, and a couple of campaign buttons. Planning to share them w/ friends and coworkers.
Then I attended the Town Hall Meeting at Turkey Red in Palmer this afternoon and listened to Scott in person. He is excellent in front of crowds, personable and so obviously a straight-shooter. Just a likable guy all-around. There were about 50 people in attendance, and lots of good questions/discussion. I felt so warm and, fuzzy I made yet another donation. I think Scott said they were up to $680,000 as of today; they are kicking butt and picking up steam!
For anyone who’s interested, the Mat-Su Democrats have begun sign-waving at 4-Corners on Tuesdays and Fridays after work. Of course, you’re welcome to do that anywhere, anytime. I think since the creepy crazy dude w/ the “Obama in a Hitler mustache” sign has vacated “his” corner by the Palmer Chevron, I’ll set up shop there in his honor. Maybe we can reclaim it in the name of sanity…

I happened to be in Palmer this evening and went to dinner at Turkey Red. Things in the back were breaking up when we got there but there were a whole lot of McAdams buttons and yard signs coming through the restaurant. Hoping that some of them were recent converts. Wish I’d known about the event, I’d have gone up early to attend.
My son went to hear Scott McAdams in Fairbanks. He was very impressed and now plans to vote for Scott.

I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had much time to comment like I usually do – but I’ve kept up with my reading and Mudflats has been invaluable in providing detailed looks at Miller & McAdams.
The mid terms will be a nail biter for me. I’ve donated to Democratic candidates and will donate again. The more I see of the Tea Party candidates, they more repulsed I am. I wish it were all over soon and I really really hope the Dem base turns out and supports our party and our President!

three questions and my answers:
– Are you planing on voting in the Senate race on Nov. 2? – Absolutely.
– Will you be voting for Joe Miller or write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski? Neither (VERY frosty)

-Which issue is most important to you: immigration and border control (do they even know they are calling Alaska?); Health care; jobs and economy and I forget. I would have said education if it was a choice, so answered health care.
He then signed off with: this poll paid for by the Republican Party, and I was able to add; ‘obviously’ before I hung up.
What kind of accuracy do they expect…… oh right – Republican Party.
Yep, those polls are really complex aren’t they? It takes about 2 seconds to “get it”. Anyone who has answered as many of those stupid things as a N and D house knows how twisted they are. I love the ones that sort of drizzle off (like yours) when you don’t answer the questions they want you to answer.
I had one awhile ago before the primary election, where the recording yelled (yes, yelled) into the phone when I blanked on the question “Are you Pro Life?” for the first go ’round. They don’t respond to anything but YES or NO. Nothing. So I yelled YES! the 2nd time, because I am pro life (and also pro choice) and the poll went on in its full drama mode til I answered something else accidentally in a progressive way.
OK, I thought – they are going to call back I bet because there are TWO independents in this house. Sure ’nuff – I got the call again. This time I answered completely differently just to see what would happen, and as long as I answered as a fake Republican, the poll went on and on and on and on and on and on…until the second you answered the way an open minded person would. Then it’s “Thanks, bye, see ya later, you’re not our kinda voter!” and they are GONE. You just know that they dumped any info out of that poll they didn’t want.
Hence, this voter knows these things are crap. It all depends on how you trick them, or they trick you.
Yeah, that ‘Are you Pro-life?’ one really bugs me. Although I know full-well what it implies, I can’t help but say ‘yes’, because I sure am not anti-life!
But…that is the perfect moment to start rattling on about the glories of ethylene oxide for use around the home. It’s FUN to yank their chains.
It’s not, of course. It’s terribly dangerous stuff and kills everything. You use it for destroying Ebola virus, sterilizing surgical equipment, etc.

I like that one! A lot. But those damn recorded poll calls only take yes or no. I’ve heard my husband screaming into the phone more than once – like he’s going to get them to take “you are a bunch @%%^&@!!!” as a recorded answer.

OK, I get it. The DCCC helps US Representatives, and the DSCC is for US Senators. I just told the DCCC to send money to a senatorial candidate. I’m sure they will listen right up because I do have my magical yard sign and all. It makes me powerful.

YAY! One of mine almost got blown away in that terrible storm, but hubby saved it and it will be resurrected tonight. The big one of course is safe and sound, visible from all over downtown. I love seeing his signs sprout up like mushrooms after the fall storm.
Talked to the yard sign guy… that storm redistrubuted some of Scott’s signs… +65mph winds are good at that.
So… there are folks here with now who are supporting McAdams even though they don’t know it 🙂

… really, I am from the diagonal…Florida that is! Our situation here is similar in that we have
1. The extremely ambitious, self-serving Teapublican Rubio, who has had major ethics violations.
2. Outgoing governor Crist, who conveniently became an Independent after Rubio skinned him.
3. The Democrat Meek, who is unabashedly progressive and probably the best candidate for the Senate,
who cannot win, mostly because of the color of his skin
There are those in the democratic party who are trying to force Meek to give up his campaign so that the perceived “moderate” Charlie Crist can win . ARRRGH!
I shall vote Meek to maintain my own principles… MeekMentum notwithstanding! So Be It!
That always happens, doesn’t it? When Joe counted all those votes cast by progressives to pit him against the Democrat, he actually thought he was liked by Republicans. Ha! And then, the fear strikes! Put up Tony Knowles, Fran Ulmer, someone who can WIN against Joe the Milker!
Nah, I’m voting my values, principles and choices. No more fodder for conservatives. You have to draw your line, and I don’t have sand in my yard and chalk gets melted in the rain. So my line is… my yard sign! No more voting for evil / idiot rated #2 to keep evil / idiot rated #1 from getting traction.

Meek should think about doing just that. Crist may caucus with Democrats and Rubio is like Miller, odious.
I saw Meek on someone’s show last week and I really lliked what he had to say. Too bad Crist inserted himself back in as an independent. Whether or not he is, there are a lot of people these days who like the sound of that word. If Meek doesn’t win I hope he at least gives it another try.
Funny – the DCCC just called after I posted about how cool MY yard sign is. As soon as the gal said DCCC, I said “Hey – gonna throw some money Alaska’s way?” That got a chuckle out of her. I told her about the brand new poll (no matter that I don’t believe them, the DCCC apparently does) showed our Democrat neck and neck in the Senatorial race. I provided some more juicy details, and she said she would make a note in the record so that the powers that be will be on notice. She cheered us on – nice gal.
She said when the races are close and down to the wire, their money (our money, excuse me ma’am) goes to helping those candidates win. Yay! Might be time to call them in a few days and do the phone bomb to get them to send money.
I know there is a DCCC and a DSCC and it’s way too confusing to remember who is who. So let’s bug both of ’em!

Looking at the picture above, here are my beverage comments (ice water is not enough, and I’m on break from school, so the mind is wandering):
Scott is the kind of guy you’d buy a beer for, a nice Alaskan Ale. Filling, substantial and with plenty of true character in its flavors. You can sit with him for hours and solve all the world’s problems, no question.
Lisa, well, you’d at least want to know what kind of Chardonnay she would like, but statistically speaking, you probably don’t have it, and certainly can’t afford it. She’s not gonna like you no matter what you try to serve her, and you will be soon dismissed as the peon you truly are.
Joe? Iced tea comes to mind and not much else. You can’t add enough sugar and lemon to it to get it to taste good, so you’re better off to offer him tap water instead. He will still complain, since it was from a municipal government water system…and not some worthy private entrepreneur like Perrier or Poland Spring Water…
Me? I’m a beer man. 🙂 Too bad I can’t vote in Alaska, Scott McAdams is my kind of guy, tastes in beer aside.

Since the vast majority of money raised by McAdams seems to have come from real Alaskan people (as opposed to the out-of-state, fake grass roots TP organizations that are supporting Mill and Murk), I wonder if that’s any indication that his support among people who can actually vote in this election is much greater than the polls would indicate.
Keepin’ my finger crossed (and toes, and feet, and legs, and arms and eyes…ouch!) that he surprises us all on Election Day and wins BIGGG!
And it looks like the California Teabaggers may not come to Joe Miller’s rescue this time. With more dirt uncovered every day, he’s only going to continue to leak support. So to any Dem/Independent out there who was thinking about writing in for Murkowski: come home and vote for McAdams. We understand – you went a little cuckoo there for a minute. It happens. But all is forgiven.
Statistical tie or not, I hope Alaskans vote for McAdams. He’s the best candidate in this race!
