Alaskans Would Vote Obama Over Palin in 2012
On the longest day of the year, in the Land of the Midnight Sun, Hays Research Group in Alaska came up with some interesting numbers. Seems that average Alaskans, if faced with the choice of voting for Barack Obama, or Sarah Palin in 2012, would come down decidedly NOT on the side of our ex-half-governor.
That’s right. If “The Undefeated” ran, she wouldn’t be. Again.
Obama Strong 34%
Obama Not so strong 6%
Undecided – Lean Obama 2%
Palin Strong 25%
Palin Not so strong 6%
Undecided – Lean Palin 5%
Other Candidate 7%
Undecided / Don’t Know 16%
What I’m finding particularily funny tonight, is: Missy Quitty has up on her twitter page/tweeted:

Does she not *read* what she links to? Yes, the article does quote her (in what I’m assuming is her interpretation of the Queen Esther, ‘xian’, gentility, all-love and forgiveness mode), but it *also* specifically points out some of her more ugly aspects, links to other articles scathing her and her kin, and is chock full of reader’s comments that are none too flattering –At All!– of her as a leader, mother, person, etc..
And Alaskans still: “Palin Strong 25%; Palin Not so strong 6%; Undecided – Lean Palin 5%”?
Oy! beth.
Lisab – Ha! You should say that over at the Pharyngula blog, it will double AKMs traffic.
Not a surprise. I imagine most alaskans would vote for Cthulu over Palin.
This poll confirms what I have been observing since at least early to mid 2009 here in Alaska. While there are certainly still fans of hers here, the prevailing attitude among a majority of Alaskans is one of disgust when Paylin is brought up during conversation. It’s interesting to note that Mike Porcaro, who commissioned this poll was actually surprised at the results. For someone who works in the public communications field (he’s a conservative radio host), he certainly does not have a very good grasp of the ‘political temperature’ here.
I’m surprised that 25% think Palin is strong…well, strong smelling perhaps.
I don’t think she could win if she was running for dog catcher. And if she decides to run for Pres., I think she and Bachmann will lock horns. Two different personalities, but both think they know it all.
wow! amazing. yay for the Alaskans.
Ha, I did it before, I’ll do it again. : )
I honestly think her 15 minutes of fame are slowly burning out…when she finally tells her fans she is not running, many will turn against her…at least that is what I predict.
I predict that she will run as an independent under the guise of a new party called the Tea party;
but only if a moderate like Romney gets the republican nomination. That is why she is going to Iowa
but not as candidate.
At this point, I think Palin would lose in a race against Frank Murkowski. I don’t think she could win a local race in any election in Alaska. On the other hand, I don’t think she even lives in this state any longer. The question is, can she win a race in her home state of Arizona?
“Home state” of Arizona? “HOME STATE?” You notice she’s not living here now… It’s 107 in beautiful Scottsdale today, just right for hosting a barbecue. It will probably still be at least 100 at nine PM, so maybe a fire for some Smores would work right about then.
I somehow think that if she ever does live here, it will be in the winter time only. The weather can be a bit much for northern folks.
Full disclosure here: I live even further south, just 7 miles north of the border. It’s currently 100 and toasty. I do know the travails of living in cold climates too: I’m originally from Washington state, but I’m used to it here. She’ll never be.
Sorry to sully your state. I just don’t want her to be an Alaskan either. Maybe she can be the woman without a state. Even better, without a country.
Our own home-grown politicians manage to sully the state very all on their own, thank you very much! 🙂
I’m all for exile of the Palins, somewhere far from any media or internet. It will take me a while to find a suitable island though, I’ve got to get an atlas out. Thumb, thumb, thumb: oooh, how about Bouvetoya? It’s Norwegian, near the Antarctic, and no one lives there. One of the most isolated places on the planet. Perfect, in other words.
Hey, I suggested last week that we find a nice isolated island somewhere near Antarctica with no transportation or communication, and put the delightful Koch brothers there. Maybe they could share with the Palins!
I’m all for having her go to a country where there IS no goverment, where person makes it on his/her own, no rules to be hampered by, no one to tell you what to do, or how to do it, and no gun restrictions………. Somalia….
Benlomond2 – yep I got the picture from your first phrase.
Good choice too. But there are better ones, she’d fit right in in North Korea.
Not if THIS Arizonan has anything to do with it! I know I could count on all my fellow Mudpuppies as well, to confront every prevarication she ever thought of letting out of her lying mouth.
Yoicks, I’m sure that won’t go over well with the bots. I’m quite amazed at the poll results, I would expect it to be just about even, but happy it isn’t.
I was reading some comments at a right-leaning website today (Politico, I think) and the bots were all hysterically claiming that it was obviously a ‘liberal’ poll and the results were completely skewed, probably taken from interviews of a group of Democrats. When a few reasonable people pointed out that it was paid for by a conservative radio host, the bots just ignored them and continued to rant against those dirty librul pollsters who dared to sully their queen’s name!
I rarely visit places like that but I found it interesting that you could almost smell the sweat from the panic they’re feeling, waiting for their Adored One to make a campaign announcement!
She is so unpopular in her home state. The “lower ’48 ers” are learning about her too, thanks to the many bloggers, and the Alaskan bloggers who have been relentless in getting the truth out!!
You had the makings of a pretty fair Paper Lace song about Rethuglicans until reality set in and you got to the point of your article. I really don’t like to complain,I would rather my day was filled with happy thoughts and visions of Shania Twain dancing in my head. However,at some point the world needs to stand up and call a liar a liar. Palin is far from being undefeated and she should be horse-whipped for saying or even thinking evil thoughts. It is way past time for her to have a reality check. Does any one know off hand if a loose cannon can be forcibly incarcerated and forced to undergo electric shock therapy? This nutter is surely a danger to herself and others. Make this the second or third post. I don’t want to be numero uno.ever
