Re Sarah recent tweets: Sarah, please don’t “drunk tweet!” Remember, what you put out there, once you hit ‘send,’ is there FOREVER. I’m actually sending this on my way to Stratford-Upon-Avon (plane leaves in the early AM). You are a knotty-pated, pernicious, muddy-mettled, clay-brained, hellish, perfidious, foining STRUMPET – according to my Shakespeare insult generator!

I wonder how Palin will respond to this news and how (or if) she will distance herself from the TeaParty Express. Didn’t she appear at a few of their klan meetings?

If I’m not mistaken “wee wee’d up” was first popularized by Obama during the campaign. I remember the surprise of such an articulate man using such a silly phrase.

    • jimzmum says:

Ah, so she stole it. She’s the rill dill, eh?

    • dowl says:

You are correct. I was mildly surprised that he’d used ‘wee’d wee’d up when it seemed clear that he meant ‘pissed off’ which is totally inappropriate for our POTUS and other elected officials.

    • vyccan says:

A measure of Sarah’s cunning – to put herself on par with the president, the former president AND Shakespeare? Sadly, she is probably unaware that SHE flubs so consistently that one wonders if she’s trying to create a ‘new’ English.

I’m laughing so hard I’m choking. $P has grabbed the blackberry , broken from her handlers and has gone entirely rogue. Here’s her tweet of a few moments ago:

    **** SarahPalinUSA

“Refudiate,” “misunderestimate,” “wee-wee’d up.” English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it! *****

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Goodbye 2012!!

    • Seagull Junker Palin says:

A very very entertaining Sunday, ’tis.

    • Terpsichore says:

And with this tweet, she has just given every public speaker, every politician, a free pass, carte blanche, to mangle the English language any way they like. Surely neither she nor any of her followers can now criticize anyone for such wrong usages of the language. I expect in the future that I will hear no criticism from them about their use of language. She said it – English is a living language (I actually do believe that part).

Funny thing is – I’m having a hard time trying to remember a politician that has used the language so wrongly in the past or in the present. Seems her ‘free pass’ is being extended to benefit herself and that her tweet is a big excuse.

How many times do we have to explain it to ya, Sarah? Grown-ups (voters) want PROFESSIONAL, INTELLIGENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE people representing them. When you mangle the language, we say “unprofessional”. When you try to excuse yourself, we say “not adult”. Instead of making exscuses, why don’t you spend the time we know you have in trying to learn something, and use the correct, accepted language? Just an idea.

      • BuffaloGal says:

Terpsichore – She’s being fried over the coals for her repeated mangling of language. The roasting has just begun. I’m hopeful that the politicians and pundits with even half a brain will take note. For some reason $P gets the free pass ( but i think that’s coming to an end) but the other politicians will get called on it much sooner and more harshly. ( IMO)

        • honestyinGov says:

I sure hope Bill O’reilly asks her some questions about her tweets the next time he interviews her.
If her Cult thought her made her look stooopid before… just wait.

September 11 2001. i watched, with other Americans, the towers burn and fall down. unlike my fellow
Americans in the heartland i was right there within walking distance. i watched while people i had known and loved were burned to death or who, holding hands, jumped into the void. i stood there waiting with parents who would never see their children again. i saw those same parents two of whom were dear neighbors die within months of the event. i also saw Muslim men crying like lost children. young Sami whose mother is in far away Yemen held on the me saying “Habibi we must go away from here. you must come with us. you will be safe there” now i don’t know where Sarah Palin was but this i do know she is not from around here. she can keep her phony ‘heartland stabbed heart’ to herself and stay the feck out of New York and New York affairs. and if she ever brings her sorry self to lower Manhattan to protest against anybody or anything i will be there to meet her.

p.s. ..if that should happen please bail me out of jail. …..pupupleeze?
pps…i am claustrophobic and i get the hot flashes an’ all.

    • Seagull Junker Palin says:

Hell Bubbles, I will fly to NYC to protest WITH YOU. Just let me know. We’ll keep each other company.

      • A fan from CA says:

I’ll be there too. She will not get to show her sorry facelift in NYC.

She needs a serious knee in the guts. I hope all sorts of New Yorkers and others from the actual heartland (does she not know her geography as well as grammar? wth is the deal with the continued use of refute incorrectly?) give her a serious slapdown.

    • BuffaloGal says:

If it comes to that, I will fly to NYC to be by your side. Then we can fan each other in the jail together. I would willingly have my head bashed in to protest such outrageous, bigotted BS! She is beyond idiot and moron and moving through the realm of pure psycho now. That high altitude livin’ that she claims to have been doin’ was not good for her non-existant soul. In fact, I think it killed her one and only neuron for good.

I was not in NYC that day. Nor was I in “the heartland”. I still felt the impact, but I am sure at nowhere near the intensity of those who were there. I have friends from NYC (lived there in the early 80s) who I was calling that day to check on them and their families. I have met people since then, in different parts of the country and the world, who lost precious family members that day. SP has no freakin idea of what she speaks. She has not one speck of Jesus in her heart when she lashes out like this.

Ugh! This kind of thing makes me so angry…I just read her tweets to my husband and his response is….what is she thinking? does she just want to invite radicals to come and do it again???

Why oh why can’t we get to the true sense of what “peace” is supposed to be? Where is John Lennon when we need him?

She’s trying to convince the sheeple she wants a New Job in ‘ 2012 ‘.
She never did figure out what that LAST Job she applied for did though…. Did she?
Keith O. points this out very clearly. I think he was enjoying this wayyyyy too much.

The billions of peace loving Muslims are not our enemy and it is time we stand up for them and their right to religious freedom.

Informative article on DU. I’ve noticed the more the GOP (& Palin) invoke the Presidential Awesomeness of Ronald Reagan – others are reviewing his record to remind the rest of us
his destructive record of deregulation, tax cuts for the wealthy, Iran-Contra, slashing safely-net programs, and deficiet spending.

“Excessive Corp Power & Class Warfare”

snip] Reagan stood against everything that had been achieved in this remarkable age of reform. His constant attacks on the inefficiency of government, a rallying cry taken up by legions of conservative politicians across the country, became a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more money that was taken away from government programs, the more ineffective they became, and the more ineffective they became, the more ridiculous government bureaucrats came to be seen in the public eye. Gradually government, and the broader realm of public service, has come to seem disreputable… Politicians, imbued with the same exaltation of self-interest that is the essence of Reaganism, increasingly treat public office as a vehicle for their own enrichment. Yea, Reagan closed down mental hospitals, and then there was nowhere to go for treatment. Now the government has to pay jails which cost more than hospitals where people could actually get better. It also has created more social security disability pay-outs.

    • Simple Mind says:

Let’s not forget Reagan’s lifting of the arms embargo on the dictatorial regimes in Guatemala, originally instituted under Carter due to Guatemala’s abysmal human rights abuse record. While Reagan was announcing that the dictator General Montt was “totally dedicated to democracy” and was “getting a bum rap”, US supplied helicopters were hunting down and strafing Mayan villagers in a genocidal campaign in which over 200,000 Guatemalans were killed on the grounds that if you dried up the ocean (the villages) where the fish (the guerrillas) swim ……. well, I’ll spare you the rest of this criminally insane lack of perspective. Montt, who is still in the Guatemalan congress, was an evangelical minister in the California-based Church of the Word and is a personal friend of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. Reagan got Washington’s airport named after him. Recent McClatchy and NYTimes articles report that Guatemala’s government is still barely functioning, and the CIA says that almost 60% of the population lives in poverty. We can talk about Reagan in Nicaragua and El Salvador some other time.

Arizona just keeps attracting Teh Crazy. I extend my deepest sympathies to anyone of sound mind who lives in that state these days.

There was an AP story in my newspaper this morning about one particularly frightening militia group that’s patroling the border. The leader is a neo-Nazi named JT Ready.

“But local law enforcement are nervous given that Ready’s group is heavily armed and identifies with the National Socialist Movement, an organization that believes only non-Jewish, white heterosexuals should be American citizens and that everyone who isn’t white should leave the country “peacefully or by force.” ”

Not sure how the Native Americans fit into his plan and I don’t know exactly where all those unacceptable un-citizens are supposed to go, but I guess it’s absurd to try and think logically about what this guy is spewing.

Ready is a former Marine who was court martialed twice and discharged within a year after joining. He and his band of merry little men are “outfitted with military fatigues, body armor and gas masks, and carry assault rifles”.

You can find photos of JT Ready wearing a swastika armband, and in the company of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

This is a very dangerous time in my eyes. To have people joining together with American nazi’s because they all want the same thing – removal of a minority group.

      VERY DANGEROUS TIME

Yeah, THAT’S someone I want to hang around with! I caught the end of an interview on Face the Nation this morning. J.D. Hayworth was bragging that he had Arpaio’s endorsement. Even if I knew nothing about Hayworth, that would be enought to make me run screaming in the opposite direction!

Ready, Arpaio and Hayworth…taking America back to its darkest days.

And the president of the Arizona Senate, Russell Pearce, used to be close buddies w. Ready, until Pearce realized that this friendship might be a political liability. Pearce is the man who introduced SB 1070 and now wants to bar children born in the USA of “illegal” parents from getting American citizenship.

Amy Godman had a god piece today about the situation here, and how the rest of the country could revert to the “political desert” of Arizona if the Teabaggers win.

…one nice thing about Sow-ah being back in AK, “climbing ” Mt McKinley,,, she’s outta cell phone, WiFi range, and we’re getting a break from her inane tweets, postings and Faux commetns…. AAAHHHHHHHhhhhh!!!!! Now if the filming would just take a few days longer….. hhm so, how well DOES all that pancake makeup go when the weather is cold ????

Do you actually believe she’s near a mountain, hiking? She lies so much, I don’t believe anything she says unless it’s been independently verified by a reliable source.

My guess is she’s medicated somewhere and having more work done on her face or body. Like that freaky lion-face lady who lived about 5 blocks from me in NYC. Bad plastic surgery doesn’t even begin to describe it.

    • Simple Mind says:

We should get this straight. Palin’s trip to Talkeetna and Denali has nothing to do with hiking, climbing, or any pursuit that is “good for the soul”. She is being paid by the Discovery Channel to get dressed up in climbing gear and pretend to be a climber for an episode of her reality show.

      • boodog says:

Dressed to the nines in climbing gear and lookin’ hawt, I’m sure.. “does Naughty Monkey make climbing shoes too?”
I love the ‘smart women’ series too, AKM. For every step she takes us backa$$wards, it’s nice to know there are those who see through her and fight to take us forward.

Will wonders ever cease? Alaska Airlines is coming to St. Louis! I will no longer have to fly to Seattle on American or anybody else, and I am hoping there will even be, wonder of wonders, a way to get to Anchorage in less than 23 stinking hours on a weekend!

Glad Alaska Airlines works well for you. Without competition (which they drive out with price wars) they’re been ripping off Juneauites and other Alaskans for decades. That’s why they can brag about their bottom line to the rest of the world.

I have been hounding our Representative, Jerry Costello. He is a good listener, and will read emails from outside his district.

        • A fan from CA says:

And here is the money quote: “Costello observed that by charging untaxable fees that traditionally were part of ticket costs, airlines are diverting revenue that would otherwise support the Federal Aviation Administration and airline safety improvements.”

Just another way for the uber rich and corporation to not pay their fair share of taxes.

Do we really want a less safe airline system?

St. Louis used to be the hub for TWA. AA bought them out. All the promised hoo-dah about keeping our excellent service to everywhere went right out the window. You can’t get anywhere these days from St. Louis. Huge airport is being downsized to half.

    Morning, All !

For all of you that enjoy looking at old photos and for my fellow WNYers, here’s a fabulous photo of downtown Buffalo circa 1908. The resolution is amazing. It shows the Erie County Savings building which was demolished in 1968 to make room for the Main Place Mall, one of the most plain, boring bldgs ever built.

    http://www.shorpy.com/node/8536?size=_original

It’s really fun to look at the many details in this photo. You can see the window washers, the horse and buggies sharing the streets with the newfangled horseless carriages, the names of the different businesses in the windows, and folks strolling around downtown Buffalo in the early years of its heyday. The comments section offers some interesting historical notes, as well. I just love it !

    Happy Sunday !
