New McAdams Ad! (VIDEO)

Another great ad for Scott McAdams. Pass it on!

And congratulations to Scott for raising over a million dollars in two months with the vast majority of those donations being under $200. Not corporate PACs, not the billionaire Koch Brothers’ Tea Party Express, but real people.

akbatwoman…same here with us…lost much of what we had saved…and we have NO pensions either of us…so it goes

Karen…that is fine and why we live in America, for each of us to be able to voice our opinions

Although I dont live in Alaska…who is elected to the senate WILL directly affect me and my grandchildren. This is an excellent ad….on someone who I truly think will help your state…and all of our country.

So I will make one more donation to his campaign

  2. GoI3ig says:

I hope Scott M runs a counter ad to that creep Bill Sheffield. Bill claims to be life long democrat voting for Lease-a. He realized he was really a republican during his impeachment hearings. He’s been a crook from day one.

Scott needs to remind the current crop of “Alaskans” of Bill’s impeachment hearings when he was governor. I think Billy Boy said I don’t remember about 100 times in a row. Tell the world what kind of guy backs Lease-a.

  3. dreamgirl says:

What a great ‘AD’. I approve this comment.

(and to everyone else who votes SCOTT McAdams).

  4. Naomi Schiff says:

Hey, did everybody enjoy the great subliminal message of the hair trim? I hope my tiny contribution helped fund a hilarious way to point up the contrast with the Silly Unshaven One. Keep sending in your pennies, folks!

  5. LoveMydogs says:

Do what you need to do Karen but please do not come here to denigrate Scott. You will not change the minds of the people commenting here. Some of us are looking for a breath of fresh air and, for my part, I will NOT vote for Leasa because she does not represent me well (or at all for that matter). My experience with her has been a whole lot of “No” on her her part and the last time I wrote her I promised her that she would never get my vote unless she stopped being an obstructionist. it never stopped. So…no vote from me. Her “experience” means nothing to me.

  6. Karen says:

Another meaningless ad from Scott McAdams. He has zero experience governing. Yes, all you non-Alaskans, the mayor position in Sitka is subordinate to the city administrator who does all the work. Scott’s only job is to tell people how great Sitka is. He said so himself during the Alaska Dispatch debate. He also has zero for a campaign platform. He’s big and fuzzy — big deal. I want a real Senator. I want Lisa Murkowski. And I’m Alaskan.

    • Blooper says:

Well, believe what you wish Karen. Personally I think Scott has more experience governing than most average people ever will gain in their lifetimes and yes, that is enough in my opinion to send him to Washington D.C.

    • Alaska Pi says:

      Karen-
Vote for whover you want but try to get the mayor thingie right, eh?

The mayor in Sitka and many other communities here in Alaska is NOT subordinate to the city administrator.

The admin is hired by and serves at the pleasure of the mayor and assembly. The admin provides top end oversight of all city depts and functions within the laws and decisions made by the mayor and assembly.

Budgets are deliberated and passed by the mayor and assembly, ordinances governing the city and borough ( if the charter is of the dual type like Sitka’s ) are deliberated and passed by the mayor and assembly- the legislative function is performed by the mayor and assembly not the administrator.

It is a form widely used all across America for local governments and not one to be sneered at at any level. It seperates administration and legislative function… sorta like Congress and the Pres, ya know,..though as we know the Pres is considerably more equal with Congress than the city models provide for admins…

Mr McAdams did a fine job for his city and borough and his other activities , outside muncipal duties, have provided a good and decent framework to base a step into a larger legislative type job.

      • Alaska Pi says:

        note to readers from Outside-
Sitka, Juneau , and others are organized as both city and borough( county) under home rule charters which make them more like counties as folks away from here know things…

    • Megaera says:

To paraphrase Mr. McAdams, it doesn’t matter how much experience you have if you are not working for the good of your state.

  7. KatefromAK says:

Wish I could vote for him, but I’m in the lower 48 now…but I sent him a donation. Sure hope he wins.

  8. dowl says:

    Wonderful ad. Go, Scott, go.

  9. Saint Roscoe says:

What does “not much for carrying on” mean?

    • David Landry says:

Re: Saint Roscoe– I think it’s referring to the negative dynastic feud going on in the Republican camp. Lots of “carrying on” happening there.

    • MonaLisa (inCT) says:

“In Sitka, like much of Alaska, we’re not much for carrying-on, even when it rains.” is an exquisitely polite way of saying, “In Sitka, like much of Alaska, we don’t care to witness foolish, over-excited, and improper behavior, even when we’re living in unsettled times.”

  10. puffin shrapnel palin says:

LOVE this ad. Direct, accessible, scores key points without cluttering the message. GOTV!

  11. Moose Pucky says:

Two weeks. We can so do this. Go Scott!

  12. Zyxomma says:

Alaskans, I urge you to vote your values, not your fears! Scott McAdams for Senator!!

  13. Colorado and the rest of the 48 have come to know Scott and I’ll tell you we are sold on him. Have donated twice and got a postcard thanking me. Nice touch. He is a real person and to say that in this years elections is the highest compliment.

    • Zyxomma says:

I’m using my postcard thanking me as the bookmark in Going to Extremes. Thanks again, AKM, for recommending it; it’s a great read! And Scott McAdams will be a great Senator.

    • jojobo1 says:

Thats the only person that has done that so far all I usually get are generac thank you e-mails.What a nice man he is. He will make a real nice addition to our senate.

  14. zyggy says:

Great video, if I could vote for him I surely would.

  15. Kilia says:

I sure voted for him (absentee ballot)!!

  16. leenie17 says:

Yet another one hit out of the park!

The more I see Scott McAdams, the more I wish I could vote for him. Of course, that would also mean that I was living in Alaska which would make me smile ๐Ÿ™‚ <—see?

The fact that most of the donations to his campaign have come in small amounts from 'regular folks' instead of PACs or billionaires gives me even more hope that there will be a happy surprise for all progressives and forward-thinking Alaskans on Election night. Most of the money for the other two candidates came from people who can't actually vote for them, but Scott's campaign chest comes from people who will be at the polls, casting their vote for McAdams.

Every ad, every speech and every public meeting that Scott attends seems to be increasing the enthusiasm and the respect for him. Even for those of us on the other side of the country, he's run an exciting and inspiring campaign, and not one that makes you want to take a shower afterwards!

  17. mag the mick says:

What a strong, positive message. Alaskans – please elect this man!

  18. laingirl says:

He has such a nice voice! He reminds me of a couple of good, big men I’ve known in my life. You know the type: when they hug you, you stay hugged for a long time. Good luck, Scott, and Alaska.

    • leenie17 says:

You just can’t help smiling when you see his ads…they give you all sorts of warm fuzzies!

It’s such a nice change from the slime and filth of most of the other campaigns out there this election season.

      • Blooper says:

Yeah, the ads Joe runs are snarky and generally mean spirited attack ads. He learned from his master $P well. Lisa’s ads aren’t much better. Scott definitely takes the high road here.

      • dreamgirl says:

I was just thinking that. His picture just made me smile, warm fuzzies and smiles. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Firecracker says:

LOVE IT!!!! Yes, I am yelling and jumping for joy because soon Alaska will have another great senator in Scott McAdams.

  20. Blooper says:

That is perhaps the best McAdams ad I’ve seen thus far. Beautiful footage of Sitka with a great take home message from Scott. And on a side note, I am envious of those who get to experience Sitka on a daily basis. Such a strikingly beautiful place.

    • LoveMydogs says:

Don’t be too envious. I moved there from new Mexico and thought I was going to drown from all of the rain. we probably had 3 days of glorious sunshine for the entire year that I was there. Yes, it was beautiful but I couldn’t take the rain. Met some mighty nice people there though.

      • Blooper says:

Yeah, that does temper my enthusiasm somewhat! I guess we don’t have it so bad here in Anchorage where we get a decent mix of sun & rain with neither dominating too much (although we had a dreary, dreary summer with almost a month of rain in July).
