“Reagan and Reality” documentary coming soon

  2. JUST A THOUGHT says:

While Reagan was Gov. of California, Nancy refused to move
into the old gov. mansion. So wealthy friends, businessmen,
etc. purchased a home for the Reagan family. Reagan as
an actor, Reagan as a governor, Reagan as the President
did not impress me. Excellent art work! Big Daddy Reagan
and his wittle scary $arah. Both daddy Regan and $arah
    are a JOKE!

  3. Moose Pucky says:

An impersonator of the little grifter showed up at the Conservative Political Action Conference today.

Why is it that some people are so arrogant and self-focused that they just won’t get the message that they’re doing a crappy job??? And no, I’m not talking about the Wasilla Wacko Who just Won’t go ‘Way.

All of you mudpups who work in education will appreciate the frustration of those who work in my city school district (I work for an agency that contracts with the district so I’m not an actual employee, but have worked IN the district for 13 years).

Our Sup’t. is convinced that he is ALWAYS right and anyone who dares disagree with him must be wrong, despite all evidence to the contrary (sound familiar?). Last week, a group of parents, local business leaders and community organizations got together to send him a letter of no confidence. He claimed that the group wasn’t really parents, but actually retired teachers who didn’t like him and were pretending to be parents.

Yesterday, the teachers union took a vote. Eighty two percent of the eligible teachers voted and 95 PERCENT (more than 2,700 of them) voted no confidence! The teachers have been working without a contract since July but the sup’t keeps saying that they are only concerned about themselves. He keeps instituting major changes without ever talking to the people who actually have to implement them. The school board and principals found out that he was planning to close two elementary schools from a news reporter! He has NO respect for the professionals who work for him and often publicly insults them. In the three years he’s been sup’t, the graduation rate has gone down from 52% to 46%. But, of course, according to him, the teachers are completely to blame, not him!

And the worst part? Five of the 8 members of the school board seem to be the only people in the city who like the sup’t, and they just renewed his contract for another three loooong years (with a nice raise every year, of course). And since I don’t live within city limits, I can’t even vote to get rid of the board!

  5. Okay,I did it and I’m enough of an Iowan to admit when I am wrong. I have apparently wronged Cheney’s former chief of staff,L “Scooter” Libby by inferring that I was mad as hell he didn’t get disbarred like Bill Clinton was. I did some in depth research yesterday and found out that Libby was permanently disbarred in DC and I believe Pennsylvania and the disbarment is permanent until at least next year-2012. So Mister Libby,I do hereby apologize to your self for not checking my facts completely before I went off on you. You will have to live with the shame and disgrace for your treacherous actions. Have a nice Quittypants birthday,JERK.

That is just too funny. Thanks for the laugh flyinureye.

Fox’s take on Americans supporting democracy in Egypt:

According to Fox News, the American people have now gone Marxist because they want the Egyptian people to be out from under the thumb of a dictator. Democratic freedom is now Marxism. It doesn’t matter to them that America only wants the Egyptian people to have the same freedoms that we enjoy here, and that democracy is the political system that best allows for individual and collective liberty and freedom.
    *************************************************************************************************************************
good old FOX. they never disappoint. they can always be counted on to be their idiotic selves.

    • Bretta says:

What does Fox have to say about the missing WGE and The Scandal Tripp?

I’m asking someone else to look because it gives me germs if I go there.

      Thanky.

    • Moose Pucky says:

So good to see change happen, instigated by young folks, and peacefully.

  8. bubbles says:

    to the people of Egypt,
congratulations. the world stands in awe of you. now comes the hard part. government is hard work. you must keep your eyes on the people you elect to run your government. looking at what you have accomplished in 18 days i know you can do it. now pretty up the place so when i come visiting all will be perfect. and i can pretend to be Queen Tiye as i sail down the Nile eating peeled grapes and ogling the handsome young men.

    • scout says:

Bubbs, I like sailing, and peeled grapes, also, too, ogling. Flotilla?

In my best Linda Richman, hand on chest, “I’m all verklempt.”
Let freedom ring – a peaceful transition of power – Egyptians!

      • bubbles says:

of course you will be welcomed aboard my ship of state. we shall eat the grapes and ogle together.

        • scout says:

Well then, to the Nile! And for you, Q Tiye, a Deep Thought from Jack Handy: “I think in one of my previous lives I was a mighty king (queen), because I like people to do what I say.”

      • Bretta says:

        Verklempt.

Second time in two days I’ve learned a new word. Thank you!
I just can’t remember what yesterday’s word was.
        Sigh. It’s only Partheimerz.

  9. John says:

Reagan raised taxes several times and negotiated with terrorists, also too. If he were president now, the tea party would be calling for his impeachment.

    • ibwilliamsi says:

Can you imagine what the baggers would think of Iran/Contra?

Oh, wait a minute. That was Reagan’s deal, so that makes it ok. Never mind.

But if President Obama had tried to pull that? fugettaboudit.

  10. Carol says:

You know, IF (which I am doubtful of) she does run, cries for her to release her college transcripts will be heard – maybe not by her, but there was such a fuss over both Obamas’ transcripts and senior papers, etc. Surely, the cry would be for her transcripts also. Not that she’d do that, look at how long she’s dragged her feet on releasing official governor’s business emails.

    • Bretta says:

The delay of email release will keep her from running. Even if there is nothing in there to hurt her – it will be used to show lack of transparency, etc.

I’m sure there is much damaging in there, probably to both $P1 and $P2.

  11. Zyxomma says:

I got this email from freepress.net today, and thought I’d share it with everyone here (I expect it might end up in moderation because of its length, but that’s okay). Here it is in full:

    “Dear (Zyxomma):

There’s been a major development in our efforts to fight online censorship. Last week we broke the news that Narus, an American company, sold spying technology to the Mubarak regime in Egypt. Since then, more than 20,000 people — including you — have urged their members of Congress to investigate.

Your action worked. Yesterday, during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing, Reps. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) and Bill Keating (D-Mass.) grilled Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg on Egypt’s use of Narus’ technology to target political dissidents, and they urged the State Department to investigate.

But that’s not all. After the hearing, Rep. Keating released a statement pledging to introduce legislation “that would provide a national strategy to prevent the use of American technology from being used by human rights abusers.” (Read my blog post to learn more.)

This is a huge step forward in our efforts to protect political speech online. Thank you — this wouldn’t have been possible without your action. We will continue to update you as the State Department investigates Narus and Rep. Keating prepares legislation. In the meantime, please urge your friends on Facebook and Twitter to keep the pressure on Congress.

    Tim”

    • bubbles says:

excellent! well done Zyxomma. our letters and emails do count. we will keep helping you in your quest to stop mountaintop removal and other good causes. thanks for sharing.

    Nancy pelosi missed the mark.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/10/nancy-pelosi-womens-rights-threatened_n_821536.html

She should have announced that “Congress is expanding the reach of Obamacare to allow the Government to decide what your mandated insurance will and will not cover”

Tea Party heads would start exploding.

  13. A fan from CA says:

Yep, Reagan was a grifter too. I worked in a Beverly Hills store back in the late 70’ies. They had private accounts for lots of famous people. The Reagans were unusual because their bills got sent to a lawyer, William French Smith. Most rich famous folks either had a business manager or just got bills at home. This was after he was Governor and wasn’t running for President.

Starting about 1964 after he gave the speech for Barry Goldwater he had a group of very rich businessmen who supported the family. Google “Reagan kitchen cabinet” and you’ll find lots of interesting stuff on this gang.

  14. Mo says:

    Brad DeLong today:

“From that moment on, my working hypothesis was that the conservative wing of the Republican Party is composed exclusively of people who have completely disabled their bullshit detectors. That working hypothesis has served me very well for seventeen years now.”

Hey there, Governor Crook and Senator Thrasher, we’re paying attention, standing up, and speaking out for all of Florida’s children!

    L’Shalom, dear pups.

    • jojobo1 says:

They are already starting on my state with cuts they want to make in education.I swear they want to dumb down the country.Wisconsin has many blue ribbon schools and we have kept up with the education of our children ,now we have a republican Governor who seems to think education is not all that important as does our new senator Johnson who wants to keep the war in Afghanistan going.or so he says. He is against the health care bill because he claims his company has a high deductible health savings plan and people will be more careful.Guess he doesn’t realise all that does is make them less able to go to the doctor before things get to bad to take care of easily.I sure would like someone from his company to come out, anonymously and tell everyone the cost they have to pay.IMO he is a fraud and should never have won.You can tell he is all about the bottom line in business. He already traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan and has only been in office a month???

  18. GoI3ig says:

I’m betting she didn’t even know who Reagan was in the 80’s. She wasn’t any brighter in high school and college than she is now.

    • Bretta says:

But she remembered Joe O’Biden, right? from the third grade?
Isn’t that what she told him during the VP debate?
      /s
I’m too lazy to look it up.

    • omg says:

I totally agree. She only uses his name and tries to claim his mantle to propel herself. Other than that she had absolutely no affection for him or his politics.

  19. fishingmamma says:

She rilly wishes she could hold “Big Daddy’s” hand!

    • Dagian says:

Eventually, she will. Death comes to us all.

Maybe then we can bring back the proper original name of our airport. Washington National Airport. You know, the FIRST President; you’d think those who feel that Reagan was the greatest thing since sliced bread would ALSO respect George Washington, Revolutionary War her, Father of the Country, first president… In addition, portions of the land were linked to George Washington’s extended family.

      • Pinwheel says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Ray-Guns fire all the air traffic controllers? So how does that rate him an Airport?

        • Dagian says:

Yes, yes he did. Evidently, that does rate him an airport if you’re in the habit of screwing as many people over as humanly possible. You would think that he worshipping fans would simply stick to renaming their OWN airports, buildings, state capitals, children, dogs, etc. But it was an extra-special stick in the eye to force Northern Virginia to foot the bill for renaming the airport.

So much for local/state control. Bwahahaha!

          • miss Demeanor says:

The ironic thing is Reagan supported the union in Poland while he screwed over American workers who united in solidarity.
Guess Reagan had to do something while ignoring all those who were dying of AIDS.
