Parnell’s new appointments on the Board of Game:

On the Board of Game, Teresa Sager Albaugh of Tok was reappointed and Robert Mumford of Anchorage is the newest member. Mumford retired after 20 years with the Alaska State Troopers as a Fish and Wildlife Protection Officer. He’s a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, Alaska Professional Hunters Association and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He’s a former member of the Big Game Commercial Services Board who’s also worked as a commercial pilot. Sager Albaugh, who runs a rural construction management firm, is a former president of the Alaska Outdoor Council .

Hopefully some election good news for Wisconsin. The state had more problems getting results from Waukesha County clerk in a timely fashion, Maybe they will have a more fair election with this twit out of the way.

She,who shall remain nameless and clueless, and her minions would find a life sustaining underworld beneath mikey’s house. Must be an attractive location due to the shear volume of pelted, smelly critters trying to establish residences there. Allow me to be upfront and admit I don’t especially want the creepies crawling around under my porch. Let me also be frank and admit that while I prefer to live alone,I do not despise four legged skunks. On the other hand,I do despise two legged skunks and assorted nasties that pretend to be human and christian. Which brings us to today’s terrible joke. Why were the vulture husband and wife not allowed three roadkills apiece on the airplane? Frequent fliers should know this.

    • Mag the Mick says:

Because you’re only allowed two pieces of carrion?

      • mike from iowa says:

        Yup-two carrions per passenger. I knew this and I don’t fly.Good job,Mag. You win………something.

Everyone who hangs out here knows how opposed I am (totally!) to mountaintop removal for access to coal. Many of you know exactly what I’m opposing (and I often post links to petitions here), but for those of you unfamiliar with this despicable practice (which should be entirely illegal because of violating both the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts), here’s a primer:

Happy birthday Romneycare! When conservatives loved the idea of Obama-styled healthcare:

  8. OMG says:

Could it be that Mrs. Palin believes that she can upstage the Republican convention? It worked during her magical bus tour when she rained on Romney’s parade, showing up (or high-tailing it) to the state where he announced his candidacy on the very same day and close to the same hour. And it worked during the Iowa Straw Poll when she just happened to arrive at the fair on the exact same day (who would’a thunk it…they very same day!…what a coinkidink!) since her minions were organizing a (failed) write-in campaign for her to win the poll. And we all know that the cameras and crowds couldn’t get enough of her at CPAC. So now she’s renting space close to, but apart from, the convention. Could it be a calculated move to draw the cameras to her and not the nominee?

    Chocolate Toffee Matzah
adapted from Lisa, of blessed memory

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line 9″ x 13″ baking pans with foil.
Top with single layer of matzah.

In small saucepan, melt 2 sticks butter with I cup brown sugar.
Boil 3 minutes over medium heat; resist urge to stir.
Pour toffee over matzah and spread it.
Put pan(s) into oven and reduce heat to 350 degrees.
Bake 10 – 15 minutes until brown and bubbly.

Remove from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Let sit 3-5 minutes, and then spread chocolate.
(Sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts. Optional)

Cool in fridge or freezer for 15 minutes.
    (or your backyard snow garden)
    Break into serving size pieces.

Store in cookie tin lined with wax paper.
    (Good luck with that!)

    What? No matzah?
    Substitute saltine, graham, or whatever crackers you have;
even if they’re stale, especially if they’re stale.
Chocolate toffee makes it all better
    whatever the season.

    • bubbles says:

oh yum! sounds delish! thanks Crow Woman.

    • mike from iowa says:

What? No matzah? Don’t substitute, sacrifice rwnj crackers because they are stale and replace them with pragmatic statesmen and women . Rill ‘merica will thank you.

  11. OMG says:

Wow…Palin’s supporters are getting their money’s worth, right? According to Politico:

“Sarah Palin’s political action committee raised $388,000 in the first three months of the year, but it spent $418,000 and didn’t give a dime to any candidates — which is the purported purpose of the PAC.”

In addition to spending almost $20,000 making a two minute video to combat “Game Change” and more than $150,000 in salaries for the first three months of the year (which leads the reader to conclude that her PAC pays annual salaries of about $600,000), her PAC spent about $6,000 on hotels “including $1,000 at Disneyland Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.”

    Good morning, mudflats,

So last weekend I stepped in a hole (thank you dust-bathing chickens for making that bowl between the back porch and the clothesline…that I didn’t see since I was carrying the laundry basket). I didn’t fall, but if you’ve ever stepped off the curb or missed that last step, you know the jolt you can get.
    Oh, my aching sacroiliac!
    Talk about Twist and Shout!

So while I’m already aggravated about the pain and the limited mobility and my own clumsiness in stumbling through life, let me take it out on liars and cheaters and greedy grifters and fear-mongers and …oh, you get the idea. While I have a pain in the @ss, I will be a pain in the @ss, a thorn in the side, a splinter under the fingernail of those who would restrict our freedoms. Freedom is a powerful Passover message, eh? Time to claim ours.

Time to “shake it up, baby…”
