Romney Wanted to “Take a Swing” at Obama
Not THAT Romney – one of his five sons. The one that’s named like a Palin.
In an interview with North Carolina radio host Bill Lumaye on Wednesday, Mitt Romney’s son Tagg said that he wanted to “rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at” President Barack Obama during last night’s presidential debate…
Interesting that the “family values” candidate’s son’s first response to hearing his dad get called on not telling the truth was rush the stage and deck the President of the United States. Quite the model citizen.
Luckily for him, the First Son wannabe thought better of assaulting the leader of the free world primarily, he said, because there were a lot of Secret Service guys between he and the Commander-in-Chief. Good thing they weren’t looking the other way.
Just out of curiosity, I wonder what would happen if Tagg had said that at a rope line, or in the crowd at some event, and was overheard by the aforementioned security force? I have a feeling the young lad might have been brought in for questioning.
Tagg had been questioned about what he thought when the President intimated on several occasions that his father had been factually incorrect. The interviewer did not ask the young Romney what he thought of his father basically saying the same thing about he and his brothers in the first debate. I believe the exact quote was:
“Look, I got five boys. I’m used to people saying something that’s not always true, but just keep on repeating it and ultimately hoping I’ll believe it.”
Go on Tagg… I bet you and your brothers could take the old man.
Check out Malia Litman’s blog…she is reporting that the Secret Service is investigating the Todd Palin pimping deal in Alaska and the lower 48…and on another front someone named “the kid” has a bombshell against the Palins and the State of Alaska…and they are trying to shut it down already…lol…kind of hard to keep DC quiet…
Satan has revealed itself, himself, herself as the rethuglican base and they own Willard-lock,stock and off shore bank accounts. Willard sold his soul to the religious wrong party and they agreed to allow Mitt to soften his positions so he could attract enough devilish voters to win in November. If he succeeds he has to automatically revert to his previous and personal rw idiotology that the devil prefers or they will crucify him and family. dubya played the religious wrong like a cheap violin and they have learned from dubya. Fool them once shame on you. Fool them twice…..uh….. they won’t get fooled again. Either way Romnesia is toast. But,be sure to vote for the good guys in November and every election afterward.
Last night I watched “Ethel” – the HBO documentary about Ethel Kennedy made by her daughter, Rory, named for the last of the Irish kings. It was a beautiful and uplifting tribute to a woman and to love. Robert Kennedy died at the age of 42. Remember all that he had accomplished and all that he had learned about the human condition by then. That’s the same age as Tagg Romney, who wanted to punch President Obama because he spoke some truths at the debate last week. The contrast between the two men is astounding.
I will never forget the night that Bobby was shot in California.
How interesting is the difference between the Kennedy family and Rommney family.
Both very rich, but how they felt about the poor.
I remember that night too. I was so excited that Bobby was going to be the Democratic candidate and planned to get invovled in some way. His death just kind of took the heart out of me for presidential elections until Obama.
The thought of Romney winning makes me ill. And I just had a more horrible thought – surely he won’t run again, but he has all those sons. Do any of them have political aspirations? Are we going to have to keep looking at that awful family for years to come? Nightmare, that thought is.
http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Meet+Romneys+With+Mitt+ascent+media+focuses+immediate+family/7417955/story.html Guess which Romney named Tagg has a company which invested heavily in electronic voting machines being used in Ohio next month? Guess which machines used to be DIEBOLD.
Sarah Jones also neatly sums it up from another angle:
“A campaign aide has explained it all away, saying Tagg was only joking. Really? Like his father was joking when held down the kid with the long hair so he could cut his hair? “Just joking” is the standard bully defense. You can’t take a joke because you’re too sensitive, not because the bully was completely out of line.”

Racist…bully…that’s two strikes. Waiting for the third pitch…
Could it be that was the reason the Rommney family left the hall so quickly after the debate? Maybe to get the kid simmered down.? He was hot and they knew it.
The real reason they left in a hurry was their ciach and four was set to turn back into a pumpkin with rats and us peasants would realize that the Romneys put their pants on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
We already have the third – liar. Usually when people lie they at least look uncomfortable or a little guilty. I think Mitt has been lying so long that he doesn’t know the difference between the lies and the truth.
Ta-Nehisi Coates nails it:
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/10/its-funny-because-were-white/263792/
“It’s worth trying to imagine any black man associated with a credible black candidate for the presidency, joking about beating down the incumbent president of the United States. Racism isn’t just in what you do and don’t say, but in the terrain you walk. It is baked in the cake — a fact which is hard to understand when you are the party of white people.”
Yet another reason why it’s immoral to be a Republican.
I’m white and I don’t see anything funny in Tagg’s remarks. Nor should anyone else, but I get the point he is making. The problem with the repubs is that they seem to be going back to a time when that sort of thing was OK.
Really, these people slay me. His dad called Obama a liar before the first debate. He’s called into question Obama’s patriotism. He’s called into question Obama’s competence. He’s treated the President of the United States with disrespect for the office. Yet during a debate where each candidate called the other’s statements into question, he wants to “take a swing” at the President?
These people are entitled bullies.
He’s going rogue! Call Homeland Security.
Funny (funny-peculiar , not funny-haha ) thing about the Romney the Younger’s remarks when asked how he felt about the Pres calling his Pop out on lies is the “YOU want…”, ” But YOU know…” form of his response.
What’s up with that?
Can / will a grammar maven here hop on that?
It FEELS like he is using YOU as an indefinite pronoun:
One wants… but one knows…
???
Is this really a personal response or is it some kind of everyman routine?
Dear Mr Romney the Younger-
This is at least the second campaign you have worked for your Pop on.
Shut up and be professional.
You have an MBA. You should know better.
You blew a chance to tell the interviewer it didn’t matter how it felt personally and seize the moment to yap on about something you think your Pop did/does right.
That is Business 101, you dip.
It is also Political Science 101, you doof.
sincerely, Pi
and the leetle brat has twins by surrogate, while the impostor Potus from Kenya had to get kids the old fashioned way-by voodoo.
And this guy is past 40! My son, who is not yet 40 and does not have the benefits that have flowed so smoothly for Tagg all his life, would never have acted like that. It’s a question of maturity and Tagg simply is not mature. And worst of all, for the rest of us, is that he has political aspirations! God help us all.
Josh said, after being asked about Tagg’s…..uh joke, that being someone who has been tagged by Tagg, the Potus had nothing to worry about. I guess he was saying brother Tagg is a little girlie-man.news out today from somewhere that Tagg took ten million from a blind trust to start an investment company of some type. Blind trusts are not supposed to be raided. Mitt’s personal attorney is in charge of said trusts so I doubt if they are what they are supposed to be. Hopefully find more info. Word on the street is that Tagg’s venture paid iff handsomely for some, but he claimed they didn’t make any money. Actual figures say Tagg is full of it.Runs in the family,I guess.

Oy, vey,
If any of us had dared to make such a threat against Shrub II, we’d have been disappeared.
I didn’t want to take a swing at Tagg’s daddy, but I did holler on more than one occasion, “Sit down and Shut Up, Willard. It’s not your turn!” Entitled, elitist feckers.
How’s about some Dixie Chicks for today?

I also recall having read some time ago that Tagg Romney complained to the local authorities (zoning board I think) about the proposed construction of a hospice facility in the vicinity of his new multi-million dollar home. At the time I wondered why would anyone object to having a hospice nearby. it would be quiet; the grounds would be well maintained and probably quite serene. Now I know. It’s just being a mini-Mitt.
I visited a hospice facility when my brother-in-law was there. It was beautiful and the most peaceful place I’ve been. There wasn’t any high traffic like a hospital gets. I didn’t hear the sirens of amulances. Why, indeed, would he complain about that? The little petty twit.
If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen…… imagine these people if they were subjected to all the insults the Obama’s have had heaped upon them these last four years……..
So Mitt and Ann raised a bunch of baby bullies rather than children. Being a stay-at-home mom did not make for better family dynamics. Mitt criticizes other families with great ease as in his claim that single mothers are responsible for drug abuse and for violent crime. It looks like the whole Romney family has anger issues. Maybe they believe that the family that “hates” together stays together.
Above all, I think it’s a class thing with them. The Romneys, because they are so rich, think that they are “superior” folk and to have anyone, but especially someone as lowly as Barack Obama, challenge anything anyone of them says . . . . Imagine if Tagg had taken a swing at President Obama. It would have been interesting to see the aftermath. Personally Tagg showed his cowardice by going on a radio show the day after and brag about what he might have done. There is something simply not right about any of them. Is it the Mormon church or is it that the sons have simply inherited the nastiness of the parents?
I don’t want to offend anyone here who is Mormon, but I am sure that I will. So I will apologize before I start. I’ve had Mormon neighbors and friends all my life. Mostly, they are great – especially the families who used to volunteer at day camp. But the thing that I have noticed that is different in the actions of many Mormon families is that they are so willing to reach out and help others in their own church, but not very willing to do the same for those who aren’t or those who have no faith unless they think they can convert them. I know, that seems harsh, but it is what I have seen. There are stories of Mitt doing the same. It’s commendable, but where are the times he helped or sat with sick children who weren’t part of their church? Isn’t that just as important?
Our neighbors who had two daughters the same ages as our two daughters (so we interacted with them a lot) were sometimes very faithful about attending services and keeping the family night. But then sometimes they slipped and didn’t attend, on which occasions we would see three or four elders (we could tell – they were dressed in formidable dark suits, and always men) would show up at their door. After that, the family would take up their faithful attendance again. Mostly I noticed that they didn’t seem like a happy family. The dad was overbearing, the mom struggled to be submissive. The kids had their own issues, especially their son who was a first class bully. I finally told my youngest that the next time Stuart picked on her and his youngest sister on the school bus or the way home to turn around and face him, tell him to stop, and if necessary, she had my permission to hit him. He was a coward and it never came to that.
In another case, which became even more personal, my daughter’s high school friend (age 17) was kicked out of her house because she argued with her dad. Because her 14 year old sister cried, he threw her out too. The girls ended up at our house late one Saturday night. The younger one went home after a couple of days, the older one stayed for a week. She went back home when she got a call from one of the elders who basically blackmailed her saying that she couldn’t be a counselor at Girl’s Camp unless she went back home, and in the end, that was something that she very much wanted to do. When she came to our house, she had bruises where he had grabbed her arm and had hit her with a hairbrush – we took photos, because the bruises still showed after a couple of days. I called CPS and reported it. They said to call police which we did and a nice female officer came to talk to the girls and advise them of what they could do as far as filing charges. They didn’t, in the end.
The police later showed up at our house looking for her when the dad found out he couldn’t leagally kick out his 17 year old. The girls had gone for ice cream and the officer was very nice about talking with us and hearing what we knew. He said as long as he didn’t see Tina, they wouldn’t search for her since she clearly was not a lawbreaker or runaway and was in a safe house.
Oh, and a police officer went with us when we went to Tina’s house to get some of her clothers so she could go to work. I don’t think they were very impressed with the dad’s point of view either.
So much for all those family values they always tout. I was not impressed. Not only were the parents abusive physically and verbally, they were extremely controlling with food – the kids couldn’t fix any kind of snack when they got home from school.
And education? Dad wouldn’t pay for her to go to college. She eventually had to drop out because he wouldn’t even sign the papers for her to get a student loan or apply for financial aid.
I think in the case of the Romneys there is something else going on. They are rich and really seem to feel they are better than any of the rest of us. How much of that is tied to their faith, I don’t know. Maybe it’s a mixture of both. Whatever it is, I don’t trust them and don’t want any of them near the White House. Ever.
Boo freakin hoo, poppy was called out for his chronic lying.
You know that if you or I made that statement we would be in cuffs right now waiting to see daylight.
And of course his son acts that way…after all his dad told out President to wait his turn he would get a chance to speak and that was after Willard had interrupted Obama.
Tagg wanted to “take a swing” but Josh was staring at goats. 🙂
http://weknowmemes.com/2012/10/josh-romney-soon/
WOW, that is one scary look…was he trying to cast a spell?
Would that be Taggart as in Dagney Taggart – a character in one of Ayn Rand’s novels? I think Atlas Shrugged though it might be Fountainhead.
Come on, ‘flatters. We’ve put up with Track, Trigg, Trippe, join the club Tag. n
Jeepers, we have to give the kid a break. Just trying to defend his father, so thusly disengages his brain from his mouth. Obviously that trait runs in the lineage.
In addition, born with the silver spoon characteristic of most of his family he has a difficult time in using restraint and self discipline when it comes to such circumstances, as seldom does the great Romneys receive or condone backtalk from peasantry. Sounds like Willard’s off spring here may likely have pulled the same type stunt as he did in his teens by torturing a poor gay student in the dorm by cutting his hair off; and while doing so, being the gutless wonder Willard has always shown himself to be, he had the muscled captain of the wrestling team hold the crying kid down.
Doubt if young Taggart even has the mental capacity to realize that during the previous debate, when his old man was lying through his teeth in front of 60 million people, there were thousands of us who would have loved to rush the stage and smash his ass into a bloody pulp.
Tagg is FORTY-TWO! When does he stop being a kid?
According to dubya and the late-not so great-Henry Hyde, youthful indigestions have no statute of limitations.
Good looking truck. What year? Where was this photo taken?
Back to original topic. It’s sad that the initial reaction was violence. Sorta like the Quitter’s reaction when on the Today Show and her reaction to criticism of some star was to “punch them in the throat.”
And Romney senior says that single parent families contribute to crime/violence.
Tagg, you’re mitt.
Secret Service doesn’t fire warning shots. In some places members of the opposition just disappear, never to be seen or heard from again……….sigh. However, this is America where anyone can be Potus of one party if you are rich enough and white enough.
Don’t parents think about how a name is going to sound when the cute little baby is an adult? Tagg, really? It sounds like a nickname, and if it were, that would be OK.
Now, Willard, that’s a grown up sounding name. 😉 But Mitt? Whatever were his parents thinking when they gave him that as a middle name and then decided to call him Mitt. Couldn’t they have gone with Will? At least it sounds normal.
Too bad Tagg wasn’t overheard by the secret service. That would be interesting for Mitt to have to explain. What kind of sons did he raise anyway?
Think the mom has a temper too. Think she didn’t like the debate either. What I heard was the Rommneys all left in a hurry after the debate.
Probably didn’t like when the Pres told Candy—get out the transcript! Loved it!
Tagg (egad, what a stupid name! are they preparing him for his trip to outer space?), your father is a smirking, blinking, compulsive liar. Just like all vulture capitalists. Want to hit a girl for telling the truth?
http://truth-out.org/news/item/12158-at-last-nights-debate-romney-told-31-myths-in-41-minutes
Bet it’s short for Taggert! Heck, his dads’ name is WILLARD…….That there is enough to give one pause.
According to Wiki,Tagg is short for Taggart. According to mike from iowa,Tag is short for tag axle-a dead axle found directly behind the drive axle on trucks or buses. Could be pretty convenient use for a dead weight campaign advisor,as a tag axle on the campaign bus. I mean,at least he would serve some purpose as an adviser to his padre. Bodyguard doesn’t seem to be his strong suit. On the other hand,he could be a pusher axle-a dead axle found in front of the drive axle on trucks and busses,if only he sold drugs while campaigning. And this concludes our little mechanical history lesson for the day. Don’t forget to vote.
Aw Zyx, I have no doubt you could could take him down. ;D
