The Search for Spring – Day 2
Springquest. Day 2.
I don’t think I have the discipline to do one of those 365 day photo projects. So, this one will be only until I feel that I’ve brought you, gentle reader, and me, raving lunatic, successfully to springtime.
“But you do not sound like a raving lunatic,” you may be thinking.
The reason you think that is because you did not see me this morning, as I sat in my usual spot on the loveseat at Mudflats Central, with my usual cup of coffee, looking up from my laptop out the window to see this.
Uh-huh. Yeah.
May 2. Snow. Again.
I said a bad word. The dog looked at me like she knew what it meant.
And as the morning waned, things got worse.
I didn’t go on the walk I planned to take, because I found a trick. If I turned face down into a pillow, the snow went away!
Later when I had to drive down the hill, I was thrilled… THRILLED I say, to see this on my windshield.
Not the long horizontal crack – that’s just a sign I actually live in Alaska. I’m talking about the drops on the window that were the result of liquid water droplets falling from the sky. It was a beautiful sight.
Until tomorrow.
When I start to grumble about the 7″ of snow we had on May Day- which is almost gone now- I see video of the CA wildfires…. Yup, very happy with the snow.
Hoping all of the California mudpups are safe…
Me thinks this is what happens when you warm up the ocean.
More of the same today in Fairbanks. If anyone sees Spring lying on the ground somewhere, will you help the poor thing up on her feet, brush her off and send her to Fairbanks?

She’s in pretty frail shape here in SE. We’re hanging onto her for a couple more days to be sure she’s fit to travel and then will send her on. She’s hoping to stop by AKM’s place before coming on to yours.
Soon…she’ll be there soon.
And by “soon” we mean, oh, about . . . July 14.
Look at your forecast for this next Friday .
Relief may be on the way 🙂
Ignore today’s snain, rain, and snow if you can , neighbor.
Is how I got through last week’s repeated snows and freezing rain here so many miles south of you… sometimes denial helps. Sigh. I think.
Hang in there!
The stark reality is Alaska, with all its stark reality weather is a starkly rill beautiful place to look at. If you would rid the place of certain varmints, aka as grizzly bears and rethuglicans,it would be a starkly beautiful place to live. Do not despair, you could do worse. You could look like me.
It’s just a box of rain, I don’t know who put it there.
“A a box of rain will ease the pain
and love will see you through”
Poor AKM!! I will bottle up some of our 93F and send it your way. Will you please bottle up some of that rain and send it back to me? 😉
