Shoveling Through Kristan Cole’s Press Release…
Boots? Check.
Shovel? Check.
Aspirin? Check.
Flask? Check.
OK, looks like we’re ready to go on a field trip, and shovel our way through yesterday’s press release from Kristan Cole, trustee for The Alaska Fund Trust (aka Sarah Palin’s legal defense fund). Stick with me and don’t get separated, or we may never find you in there. It’s easy to get lost in the histrionics, the whining, and the unrelenting spin. Ready?
First off, we learn that the conclusions reached by Mr. Daniel are “unprecedented in the history of our country.” Yes, never in 223 years and two weeks has there been such an outrage!
On a side note, I envision the beleaguered Mr. Daniel at home with a nice big snifter of brandy, muttering and throwing those fancy expensive darts that come in a wooden box at a target featuring the official state portrait of the soon-to-be-ex-governor. We’ll call this the “Branchflower Syndrome.” This happens when a respected independent investigator gets thrown under the bus because he came up with a conclusion that Palin didn’t like.
Back to Cole’s press release, and a few discrepencies we find contained therein:
1. Final?
From Cole: Because [Daniel’s] initial review was unprecedented and contained factual errors it was my understanding that Governor Palin’s legal team, including Mr. Van Flein, were in ongoing discussions with Mr. Daniel. The matter was not final.
But Daniel said his report was final.
**************************
2. Who decided?
From Cole: This is particularly notable, and concerning, in light of the fact that the Trust, on my instructions, has not paid even one penny to Gov. Palin or her lawyers. I issued that instruction because I was aware the Board was reviewing this matter.
And this from Tom Daniel’s recommendation:
My recommendation is that the governor should refuse to accept payment of her legal fees and costs from The Alaska Fund Trust and withdraw her authorization for the trust to be recognized as her “official” legal defense fund.
**************************
3. Silliness
From Cole: So far Mr. Daniel is the only lawyer in the country who has questioned a legal defense fund. (!)
4. Involvement
From Cole: I want to be clear on a point that has been misrepresented: The Governor is not and was not involved with the Trust. The Governor has never worked on or with the Trust.
See my previous post HERE. And this one HERE.
5. Asking for help
From Cole: In their own humble way, the Palins never asked for help. The Governor never asked anyone to help with this legal expense fund.
From Sarah Palin:
“Obviously we cannot afford to personally pay these bills — and really no future governor should feel the sense of financial vulnerability at the hands of those with a political vendetta bent on personal destruction,” Palin wrote. “Some have suggested a legal fund to pay these bills. We’ll have to pursue that.”
“I must defend against these baseless ethics accusations out of my own pocket as the use of public monies to do so could itself violate state law,” Palin wrote.
“As governor of the state of Alaska I have accrued bills for legal representation concerning false, wasteful and frivilous (sic) allegations,” she wrote in her March statement. “To defend my actions as Governor my family has amassed hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees.”
She also mentioned it in her speech at the Anchroage Lincoln Day dinner.
If you say “I’m thirsty!” enough, someone will usually offer you a drink without you having to say “I’d like a drink.”
(I look over at you and notice that you’re leaning on your shovel handle, and looking a little pale and sweaty)
I think it’s time for a break. Everyone have a seat for a minute. Pull out your aspirin or flask, or some hydrading liquid and we’ll pick up again in a little while…
ez.pz #148 – I understand Martha’s messages loud and clear. They may be a little edited for many of us who have become all to familiar with the details.
The ease with which the Palin people lie about matters of clear public record is beyond pathological.
Perhaps on Sunday, at the time of the Queen’s abdication of the throne, mudpups across the USA and around the globe should symbolically join hands and sing an appropriate farewell- my personal favorite: “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead”.
RAM leaked alright. It was some nasty venom filled unverified libelous stuff, too.
the bottom line is the fake fund stipulates that if the current trustee ceases to be the trustee only SARAH PALIN can choose the next trustee. case closed. NEXT!
@martha
I am having trouble reading your posts. I can’t decide where the breaks between items are, nor which parts are reported speech or your own comments 🙁

Some of the pee’ers were hurt that they were lied to about $p not knowing about the fund yet they got thank you note. “why RAM, Why?” But she quickly slid it to offense- Chatman is to blame for leaking this to the press!
* ** * ** * ** * ** * **
RAM better get off the ‘Chatman did it’ bandwagon real fast. Ms. Chatman has made a public statement and said she did not do it.
If RAM keeps insisting she did, why, one might start to think that RAM leaked it herself …
From Cole: I want to be clear on a point that has been misrepresented: The Governor is not and was not involved with the Trust. The Governor has never worked on or with the Trust.

In light of THE EVIDENCE that the GOVERNOR EXPRESSLY AUTHORIZED THE CREATION OF THE TRUST and the FACT that THE WEBSITE QUITE OPENLY USES THE GOVERNORS POSITION TO SOLICIT DONATIONS, there is probable cause to believe that;
GOVERNOR PALIN USED, OR ATTEMPTED TO USE, HER OFFICIAL POSITION FOR PERSONAL GAIN ……..IN VIOLATION OF ALASKA STATUTE……39.52.120(a)
=================================================
Word play here……………Cole………..on or with the trust……….that is NOT what the report says at all.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch…..Palin certainly DID work on AND with the trust:
Go to link to see photo of thank you note from Palin (first discovered by eyeonyou ? I think)
=================================================
Kristan Cole:
“The first and only time I have spoken with the Governor about the Trust was yesterday to alert her that I was responding to this violation of the law and leak of preliminary and confidential materials from the complainant.”
If Kristan Cole never spoke to $arah Palin about the Trust until yesterday, how did the governor obtain the names and addresses of donors so she could send them handwritten thank you notes?
Did somebody leak this information to $arah behind Kristan’s back???
As there were no disbursements from the fund whatsoever, did the governor pay for the cards, envelopes and postage out of her own pocket? (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)

Alaska Fund Trust – Navy Vet Gets a Thank You
Navy veteran and Alaska citizen Mark Bowers (follow Mark on Twitter) received a pleasant surprise after he donated to the Alaska Fund Trust to preserve the integrity of the Governor’s Office of the State of Alaska. His donation helps to cover the legal expenses of defending against the frivolous complaints filed against Governor Sarah Palin. She surprised him with a personally written thank you note from the governor herself.

1. Final?
From Cole: Because [Daniel’s] initial review was unprecedented and contained factual errors it was my understanding that Governor Palin’s legal team, including Mr. Van Flein, were in ongoing discussions with Mr. Daniel. The matter was not final.
And this, from NPR
But Daniel said his report was final.
=============================================
Poor little Cole and those pesky fact thingies. Wow, Palin has a “legal team” now, not just Van Fleabag! Better set up another fund quick!
Cole is saying that Daniel is lying, report not final. Boy that lying Daniel guy better smartin’ up. Geez.
=============================================
From Cole: I want to be clear on a point that has been misrepresented: The Governor is not and was not involved with the Trust. The Governor has never worked on or with the Trust.
============================================
The report says otherwise, states it as fact and the information came from…..Cole!……….and the website.
And Cole is accusing Daniel of lying AGAIN!
This part of the report gives Palin no wiggle room whatsoever, it is as clear as crystal AND final.
From the report:
http://media.adn.com/smedia/2009/07/21/14/Legal%20Defense.22542.source.prod_affiliate.7.pdf
=================================================
According to the funds website, it was created by Kristen Cole and other supporters of the governor who believe the governor should not have to personally pay for legal fees incurred in defending against a series of ethics complaints.
I interviewed Ms.Cole, who confirmed that she and other supporters of the governor came up with the idea of soliciting contributions to pay the governors legal fees.Ms.Cole also stated that she and other supporters set up the Alaska Fund Trust.
She also stated however, that THE GOVERNOR GAVE HER APPROVAL TO CREATE THE TRUST as the “OFFICIAL LEGAL DEFENSE FUND for the governor and AUTHORIZED THE USE OF HER PHOTOGRAPH ON THE TRUST’S WEBSITE.
In light of THE EVIDENCE that the GOVERNOR EXPRESSLY AUTHORIZED THE CREATION OF THE TRUST and the FACT that THE WEBSITE QUITE OPENLY USES THE GOVERNORS POSITION TO SOLICIT DONATIONS, there is probable cause to believe that;
GOVERNOR PALIN USED, OR ATTEMPTED TO USE, HER OFFICIAL POSITION FOR PERSONAL GAIN ……..IN VIOLATION OF ALASKA STATUTE……39.52.120(a)

Palin has shat in the nest…again. If the Personnel Board leaked the information, perhaps it is because they have grown weary of a governor who lies.

“It is not the crime, it is the cover-up. Where have we heard this before?”
YUP! You betcha! I was in journalism school during Watergate, and my News Editing prof, a former Wall Street Journal editor, kept telling us, “keep looking at WHY it’s happening, not just WHAT.” It was a real-time lesson in the quirks, strange turns and march of history. Looking back, quite a lesson.
————————-
OK ……. (taking a breath) ……
So the Personnel Board probably won’t do squat.
Can the Legislature step in and demand to straighten this out? Can they change things, NOW ?????
I realize that AK’s current ethics law is diddly-s**t, but can’t the Leg do something about it, perhaps in special session?
Is this an iceberg? — probably not, per se … BUT it could be the surge of water that propelled the nasty iceberg over the bank. (Personalizing the metaphor here, after our experience in Eagle … )
————————-
“So why is the site still up?”
— beats me! Apparently they’re just salivating at the opportunity for someone to challenge them – do you suppose?

@ 54 Lee:
I think Daniel did what he felt was right under the current constraints of Alaska law — which are crap. The guy seems to be an honest attorney, looking at the law (crap) and interpreting it as he sees it. He made recommendations based upon CURRENT law, and perhaps that is all he could possibly do. Sad, yes … but honest, I think.
“This whole debacle would have been swept under the rug if the report had not been leaked. I personally think it’s time for the courts….and putting these people under oath. I’m sick and tired of the lies and spins.”
It’s unfortunate that it takes a leak to get the truth out. But if that’s the only thing that will do it, more power to it! Yes, “under oath” would be the far most preferable way.

Along with the handwriting, there’s astrology —

I’d be really interested in seeing her chart, done by someone reputable. She sounds like she has some scary attributes of Scorpio and Libra, maybe Gemini too. (And I’m not being critical here, because I have those signs in my chart too.)
Would be interesting to read, if nothing else.
If Palin never worked on or for the Trust Fund….why are the thank you notes written and signed by Palin and not Kristan Cole? Inquiring minds want to know. Does the Palin Club think we are all that stupid?
Two and a half weeks ago, before I lost internet access, my last comment here was wow, just wow. It is amazing how much is happening now.
Again, thank you AKM , other AK bloggers, and all the wonderful ‘flatters everywhere.
Great read Mudflats..enjoy the posts..
Between you and Celtic Diva-and through comments–it appears that Palins’ case from Univ of Tenn case w her emails hacked are still in progress.
In fact another date I’d read is set for the 26th..
Is she trying to beocme private citizen to try to do an endaround the lawyers /Boards request for her not to touch that money while she is still Gov.
Private citizen–THAAAt’s another matter now huh…court dat re emails too coincidental.
The judge in case made sure the emails got preserved–but she very badly does NOT want those emails out…and they already show she was conducting state biz on her private acc…
stay tuned..my theory..

There is no possible way that $1.9 million
—
The ethics costs were $296,000, $187,000 of which was for Troopergate which is the complaint Palin filed against herself.
rebekkah,
RAM has been in AK (she lives in LA, CA) and has been on Burke’s Radio show a number of times. When she was up in AK, she was there with the person who runs the palin radio site.
There is no possible way that $1.9 million could have been spent by the State of Alaska with a $500,000.00 legal bill owed by Palin on top of that for “frivolous” ethics complaints. There is a whole lot that we don’t know yet, but with this incredible group of sleuths working on the investigation, I’ll bet we’ll get to the bottom of these secret evil dealings. The talent and brainpower of this online “think tank” is astounding!
Canadian Neighbor; Was I dreaming or did the CeePees get snubbed by a comment from Meg Stapleton, during the “begathon”. I seem to recall she stated at some time that she nor Palin had nothing to do with that group, and were not associated with them. I wish I could remember where, maybe the ADN.
So, if so, why would SP not want to be affiliated publicly with that group? There are so many holes in this scenario. And the RAM knowing John Ziegler. Hmmmm……is right!
Go you AKM I listened to the live stream was just in time and you did great
Good for you, Canadian neighbor #120, for bringing this interesting information to our attention.
The plot thickens and the lies weave bigger webs.
My curiosity is tweaked and my mind keeps coming back to Kristan Cole operating and controlling the Legal Fund Trust that she supposedly decides how, when, why, where and whom every cent is dispersed and her statement not a dime has been paid out. Would that be because of communication between Cole & Palin to wait until Palin quits? Palin mentioned it’s been in the works for a while. To disperse it after she is out of office believing it then to fly under the radar as no more State Ethics to follow???? Why Cole has always remained in my mind throughout this whole Legal Fund:
Kristan Cole is knowledgeable with trust accounts as they relate to real estate because of the real estate business she owns and therefore knows the rules, regulations, laws and operation of same. This agency if I recall correctly, was once her mother’s agency.
She is also knowledgeable that:
“Early in 2002, B.C. broker Cheryl King shocked the local real estate community and the 35 sales reps at her Re/Max Assist Realty office in Kamloops when she disappeared, along with trust fund money and real estate commissions.
She faced charges of fraud, breach of trust and forgery, but it took until last month before the issue was resolved. King, now known as Cheryl Moseley, pleaded guilty to one charge of illegally accessing trust funds on June 21, reports The Daily News in Kamloops.” (from blowpoppalin.blogspot.com/2009/06/kristan-cole.html)
Under the category of “you can’t make this stuff up”, Cole’s mother, Cheryl Moseley King has a colorful past involving…(wait for it)….trust fund money. We can only hope that Cole did not inherit her philosophy of money management. (themudflats.net/2009/04/24/alaska-fund-trust-its-the-new-sarahpac)
It raises questions in my mind as she has knowledge because of being a real estate agency owner whereby a trust account is standard in order to operate business. The Legal Fund Trust would have some similarities in operation and therefore ought to make it easier for her to understand the workings of it (but am I giving her too much credibility in understanding trusts– possibly). It also raises the questions in my mind as to what conversations were there between a Mother and Daughter, both of whom are/were real estate agents/owners as to the legal charges and what may have transpired to get to the point of charges — in those conversations answering the questions of said charges as the legal proceedings went on for a long time so I would think it hard to say they never discussed it. Questions that make you go hmmmmm.
Having worked with numerous trust accounts and the rules, laws and regulations to operate same, and having read the many articles and documentation regarding Kristan Cole with respect to the issues of the various positions she has held within the State with regard to the dairy and all the others set out for everyone to read and with regards to monetary issues and problems and then add in Palin with their longtime friendship, business dealings, appointments of Cole to state positions and just the way Palin has carried on in her positions of appointments and elected positions. You could add in the other surrounding players like Meg who has held numerous positions under Palin including on the National Campaign, SarahPac, family spokesperson (she responds as to Levi), media spokesperson, etc. The communication between CeePees and the Fund may have been with Cole and/or Stapleton for the beg-a-thon. The CeePees obtaining of info that has been on the site but didn’t seem to be available elsewhere would be possibly Stapleton on behalf of Palin. Any communication with Stapleton I would consider it as coming from Palin as that would be her spokesperson.
There are too many spiders working in the same web raising even more questions on the Hmmmm radar.
Keep up the good work, AKM. Scarah needs to be exposed.
You know, something is really off with this whole Daniel finds a problem this time and it’s in the open, supposedly because of a leak from the Board itself.
I have to wonder…how many other Daniel reports did find a probable cause, but the Board refused to proceed further by ‘dismissing’ the charges?
So, my questions to everyone are:
1. Have any of the other investigator’s reports been released?
2. Is there a mechanism in place for investigator’s reports to be requested by some type of citizen’s request?
I seem to remember that somewhere around here, if not other AK based blogs, that there have been discussions over whether the ‘public’ could request information on closed cases. So if the answer to #2 is a “yea”, I’m up for contributing towards the inevitable high cost of securing those reports. Just spread the word on where to send the $$.
am i off here? i recall reading that mrs. twitter thumb PALIN wrote the ethics bill…I now read that she only passed it…thats all… which is it darn it…HELP!
Oh, yeah, winkwink, I was going to remark on the other idea you had — throwing Monopoly money at Palin a la ARod — that made me laugh…I’m not as much a Mariner fan as I was years ago, and not as much as I should be, I suppose — but I followed the whole ARod saga from his last year in Seattle through his free agent campaign to collect as much money as he could — and I was watching the first game he played at Safeco after signing with Texas.
I got “into it” with a lot of Texas Rangers fans and later, a lot of NY Yankee fans about how I felt about ARod — my opinion hasn’t changed, either before or after his not-very-believable Sarah-Palin-like “confession” of steroid use for one year as a Texas Ranger after reports this last off-season showed he’d tested positive.
So I know exactly what you’re saying about the similarity in the situations.
AKM…you forgot the gas mask. It’s bound to be extra stinky around SP from now on…
winkwink Says: July 23rd, 2009 at 6:00 PM “i think the problem with Sarah letting the state pay for the frivolous ethics part of her bill, is that she can’t itemize that $500k as ethics complaint bills. The ethics complaints filed against her (not the one she filed against herself) are probably only a small portion of that $500k…
The people going to the picnic should throw (monopoly money, a la A Rod when he came back to play at Safco Field) at her when she has her little I’m leaving speech. LOVE TO SEE THAT!!!!all that fake money flying in the air around her…”
The $500K isn’t even remotely related to the ethics complaints costs. The 13 ethics complaints costs reported by Palin’s Personnel Board for the cases decided before June 30, 2009 — not counting the 3 complaints in the Troopergate case which include the self-filed Palin complaint — amount to $108,244.96.
The 3 in the Troopergate case amount to $187,797.62 (for a grand total of $296,042.58).
So, the $500K is obviously something else entirely. I believe one theory was that the $500K is what it cost to have the McCain campaign operatives (the ones Palin has been implying to the outside world were Democratic operatives) clean up her family’s Internet activities including too-revealing pictures of her and her family and information on Palin and Johnston computers, and hinting to people “in the know” not to talk… Evidently the RNC didn’t want to pay that bill, so it got sent to Palin. Oops.
Evans may be a good attorney for setting up trusts, but he obviously didn’t do his due diligence on AK law.
#109 Claw Washout Palin
And all the examples he gave were for federal employees – including Ted Stevens. So he’s from AK, he isn’t a State of AK employee, the AK ethics act didn’t apply. The distinction isn’t rocket science.
This is on par with the tax advice Sarah got. Per Diem not taxable in AK, so her tax person didn’t include as taxable income for federal. Wrong.
I went to the link in #109 and came across a statement along the lines of “S. Palin resigned on July 3rd; the report was not finished until July 14th.”
Right. In order to put together a report like that you start working on it on … July 13th… 12th… 11th?
My jaw drops when I read statements like that, given as irrevocable proof of the fact that Palin’s resignation had absolutely nothing to do with any pesky reports.
She wouldn’t need a legal defense fund to pay bills if A. she was ethical or B. she didn’t hire a personal attorney. Of course, if she used the state’s attorney then her records would be open and transparent.
Horrors.
One has to wonder what she is hiding. And I hope it’s worth it to her. (and you know we’ll find out anyway.)

There is something about the combination of politics and truth that is like oil and water. They just don’t get along. I am reminded of how the Swift Boaters told lie after lie about Kerry, and developed quite a following. The current bunch of Birthers, denying the photocopied evidence of Obama’s birth certificate are the 2009 version. Don’t believe your eyes, believe what I’m telling you. If you tell the lie big enough, long enough and to enough people, maybe they will believe you.
So, despite evidence to the contrary, Cole is going to protect her friend. Since Sarah’s tweets have not included any quotes lately, I will have to provide one for her, attributed to Daniel Patrick Moynihan
“Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.”
oops, my rant was missing one thing regarding the “thinking bot”- most of the articles / links / commentaries I provided to him were from CONSERVATIVE leaning media; the Ketchikan & Fairbanks papers, The Alaska Standard, Andrew Halcro, Syrin from Wasilla, and the Alaska Dispatch which presents both sides of the coin. It still did not compute.

winkwink–
And don’t forget the high priced tax attorney that reviewed her tax returns for the McCain campaign so he could issue and opinion on per diems & kids travel.
This was required because her federal disclosure form included these amounts but her tax returns didn’t.
My reading indicates that the McCain campaign did not pay these legal expenses.
Meet on the Open Thread for live blogging AKM’s appearance.
Funny how outside Alaska people are starting to see palin as a drama queen/victim – they have NO idea! (for the most part) what a wild roller coaster ride the last few weeks have been. I am exhausted, and I’m just watching you all!
i think the problem with Sarah letting the state pay for the frivolous ethics part of her bill, is that she can’t itemize that $500k as ethics complaint bills. The ethics complaints filed against her (not the one she filed against herself) are probably only a small portion of that $500k, the rest of her legal bills are for her private attorney, which I don’t think the state will pay.
She can’t let her supporters know the amount for the complaints was not $500k, that’s the total she keep saying was bankrupting her and they were sending money, without questioning anything she said.
The people going to the picnic should throw (monopoly money, a la A Rod when he came back to play at Safco Field) at her when she has her little I’m leaving speech. LOVE TO SEE THAT!!!!all that fake money flying in the air around her…

“They seem to write things simply for PR and don’t think of the larger legal or strategic picture.”
This is EXACTLY what they all do – it’s part of their strategy. Picture the truth as sunshine, and the Palin Players as Vampires. Do they want the light? Of course not! They do not care about the truth – because they plan to bury it or confuse the issue so thoroughly that the only thing one of their dimwitted followers remembers is the rebuttal full of blame on someone else.
Think about her followers (I know it’s hard) – I recently ran into one that I spent over a week giving all ALASKAN points of view from blogs, commentary and reporting. This person is not the typical stupid bot, I’d say he was a thinking bot. He discussed many other political items and agenda with knowledge, research and a sort of open mind. But the Palin stuff? Even though I used NO MSM articles except maybe one to describe the poor performance of Meg Unstapled, this thinking bot did not change his mind. He still thinks she’s a victim of the liberal media and was given a bad rap. Not once did he acknowledge that awakened Alaskans, the ones who have put up with her crap and are now saying “hit her in the butt” to the door, were jaded and sick of her. Not once. I don’t think he could even think it in his brain. Did not compute!
So even in thinking conservatives (who can also spell – hallelujah!) , there is a brain fog because they are so desperate for a candidate who can bring them out of banishment. They are lost, they aren’t listened to, the way they get more followers is to breed rather than teach and convert. They do NOT look at the facts.
This bunch, the Palin Grifter Gang, counts on this. That’s why their spin stories give us a headache – you think “What? Why would they say that when they are on video saying the exact opposite (or whatever)?” They aren’t logical – they play on emotions – it’s their only power. They employ the emotion du jour as they see fit.
From my view, this is the Teflon we speak of so often. It doesn’t work with intelligent, curious people because once they question, dig a bit, or are presented with overwhelming information, they actually make a decision. But it works in two other ways – it works with the Palin brain-deads, and it works with the MSM media because they miss so much information because they go to the screaming one first, and forget the back up info. And so that’s what people read, and remember. It’s why so many of us mourn real investigative journalism, which follows a story in detail with as much relevant information as possible presented. This may take weeks, months, years! And so much of the country doesn’t have that type of attention span anymore.
If anyone has taken the 40 hour First Aid training, you should have been instructed to not “focus on the blood” as a first responder. Blood usually makes a wound look a lot worse than it is, and often their are other injuries that are “quiet” but much more serious. We are drawn to the sight of blood in an emergency, and unless trained otherwise, might make serious mistakes by not checking out the whole body and looking for internal damage as well.
This is the MSM. They didn’t take that course! Rant for the day!
Trial!
Austintx, that was a great analogy! Actually the stuff that comes out of the Horse’s rear end is less nauseating than the drama, obfuscation and lies that Cole spews out.

AKM on Progressive Talk KTLK AM 1150 with Brad Friedman (sitting in for Mike Malloy)!!!!
Probably not for a while, as she’s listed last of 5 guests.

Yep, Siegelman is on next, so we’ll have to wait a little longer for AKM. (Not to put down Don Siegelman – he has a compelling story of injustice.)
Kajo,
Ms. RAM is a serial hypocrite! Rational conversation is impossible
http://twitter.com/kristancole
This Kristan’s twitter account.
@Seattlefan – The first hour is about health care reform. It wasn’t clearly stated stated, but it sounded like the Seligmann case would follow. I’m guessing AKM will be on during the final hour, but I’m not taking any chances – I have the show on now!
I was the one who posted the R.A. Mansour serial accusations of Kim Chatman over at Gryphen’s Immoral Minority, in the comment section of today’s current/top topic.
I also got full screen captures of the original blog entry R.A. Mansour put up on her blog regarding the “leak”, with no subsequent update or correction or — haha! — apology to Chatman.
The lack of thinking motivating the lack of questioning while promoting the multiplication of division disturbs me greatly.
My college chemistry professor asked us on our first day in class, “Can you think your way out of a paper bag?” If your answer is ‘no’, withdraw immediately from this class because you will fail.”
Wading thru Cole’s lame-ass lies reminds me of “mucking” a horse stall. You remove the horse , then take your big shovel and wheelbarrow in and start rooting around in the sawdust for the turds and clumps of piss. It’s hot , it stinks , you are sweating and the saw dust is sticking to your skin. You REALLY have to love your horse. But boy that long hot shower followed by a stiff , extra tart Margarita makes it worthwhile. And knowing you got rid of the s^*t.
There are to many links to sell Cole’s lies. They seem to write things simply for PR and don’t think of the larger legal or strategic picture. I think her political and $ value are diminishing by the day.
open thread ..thanks

This is more related to what the hackers lawyer is requesting from Palin’s adm. IThe article is about 2-3 pages long. May be able to use some of the info that this lawyer have obtained from his e-mails request since he will be issuing a subpoena for them.
I’m listening to Brad Friedman now, he’s got Dennis Kucinich on first, talking about the health care bill.
Should we move this conversation to the open thread?
PCBS in 2012!!!!!

Lani aka Bash Budweiser: Thanks for the heads up! Do you know what time she will be on?
My stomach’s still a bit queasy from yesterday’s time travel and now the field trip has left me with an exploding head (after the extra-strength Advil). I need to better pace myself.
I just don’t get Palin’s drama. There are remedies in the Report. Pick one and get it dismissed like the children’s travel issue. If the fund has only raised a few hundred thousand, why the need to hold on to it?
I say let the state pay. Palin turns over all the itemized bills showing $500,000 of legal fees for the trivial ethics complaints, she is free of her debt and we will all live happily ever after.
Far from Fenway #70, I understand that a straight jacket is a sure cure for twittering addicts- and Sarah needs one!
Palin/(Liz) Cheney/Bachmann/Sanford 2012…..Where can I send the check I got from Axelrod to make sure these 4 nuts run in 2012!!!!!

System Bucker… remind me to never send a handwritten note to you 🙂
Ms. Mansour is quite the hypocrite. She stated outright not to be disputed guilt on the part of Ms. Chatman in the SAME article that she slammed anyone who dared to even imply some sort of malfeasance on the part of whats her face soon to be ex gov of Ak. Very surreal….

I found this on line regarding the requested e-mails from Palin (Tn). They want every e-mail on her computer that constitutes voluntary disclosure.
RA Mansour=RAM
What is/who is…R.A.M.?
Thanks!
The twit has tweeted about Parnell’s press release regarding “leaks” – that makes 16 tweets in 24 hours. The woman is obsessed with her toy. Someone take it away from her and send her to timeout!
It is obvious that SP has, again, committed an unethical, if not illegal, act. The question is, will she EVER be held accountable; will she EVER have to pay for her actions?
#61 Problem Child the posts are in the comment section.
I just hope there is some way that KimC can find a way to take legal action against Cole,Palin,VanFlein, and RAM. I know that is a big step to take and can understand someone’s reluctance to do so, but the ones threatening and lying need to be held accountable for their words as well as their actions.
Can I say chin waders cause it is really deep!
the problem child: yes sorry, Gryphen’s blog. Go to “Sarah Tweets her Ignorance” and scroll down. The entire R.A.M. accusation is there.
We’re cross posting everywhere so it doesn’t disappear. Ms. GoatName deserves some jail time for libel/slander/and defamation.

GOV. DON SIEGELMAN, former AL governor, free on appeal, and fighting outrageous political prosecution by Karl Rove and gang, as covered recently here…
REP. DENNIS KUCINICH (D-OH), on the fate of progressive healthcare initiatives in Congress at this point.
JOHN BONIFAZ, Legal Director of Voter Action on new initiative pushing for electoral reform in Congress.
IGOR VOLSKY of Center for American Progress, contributor to the book Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform: How We Can Achieve Affordable Medical Care for Every American and Make Our Jobs Safer, on the latest in healthcare politics and fear.
AKMUCKRAKER, master Alaskan blogger from The Mudflats and Huffington Post, on the ethics, or lack thereof, of Sarah Palin, Alaska’s soon-to-be-former Governor. “
Ginger; so true, I thought about that. Don’t think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing. The staff in this Administration must all be suffering from major negative energy, from all these different stories. One small lie can spin into thousands of lies, and ruin so many people’s lives, just because of one selfish fish. AFter Sunday, hopefully the morale of the State will change dramatically.
Tut, tut, the Palin Administration’s “Culture of Impunity” is falling down like a house of cards. All I can say is, it’s about time! I personally can’t wait to see some light shone on TrustFundgate, Dairygate, Housegate, etc. in a real court of law. Think Sarah, Kristan, & Meg can find some kicky orange cork-sole sandals to match those jumpsuits?

Immoral majority has posted all of R.A.M.’s comments accusing Kim Chatman of leaking the report.
==========
Do you mean Grypen’s blog, immoral minority? I didn’t see any post like that(?)
Why does every statement that comes out of Palin’s many spokes persons, including herself of course, sound like the cries of a small animal with its tail shut in the door? Even her lawyer comes off whiney.
Darn there’s that door motif, conundrum. Thing.
Sorry if this may appear OT but I think it kinda applies…it’s in regard to Sarah not being involved with the AFT — HA! What a joke!!!
Anyway, I posted this on the forum but I thought others may find this amusing. EyeOnYou has pics of thank-yous Sarah sent to AFT donors. There’s one to Veteran Mark and the handwriting jumped out at me. http://img398.imageshack.us/i/handwrittenthankyounote.jpg/
I know a wee bit ( a very wee bit!) about handwriting analysis so I used some online help and got the following.
Have fun reading the results!
This personality profile is based on the writing of Sarah Palin (note: I just used her name to get the results) created at the website: Handwriting Wizard.com – Handwriting University’s Official automated personality report creator based on standardized basic personality traits as taught through Handwriting University’s Certification Level Program.
(Note is written with a leftward slant)
Most people with a severe leftward slant have some type of childhood trauma they have yet to work through. Since we didn’t actually “see the writing”, we can’t tell if she actually has a hard left emotional slant, but if so… she has issues with trust and it is likely rooted in childhood.
Sarah has withdrawn into herself. She is reserved and shows her feelings only at times of great anger, extreme passion, or tremendous stress. Sarah is an introvert. She makes decisions based on logic, therefore she is rarely impulsive. She doesn’t find any need for expressing her emotions. In fact, she probably sees this emotional expression as an unnecessary waste of time. She has a hard time relating to an extreme extrovert, although it is common for her to be attracted to one. Many people do not understand Sarah; it is difficult for them to really know how Sarah feels. Sarah enjoys being alone, and probably prefers working alone. Working with her hands is a pleasure.
Sarah’s basic nature is to look out for herself first. Although she can and does feel emotions, perhaps as deeply as anyone, she just almost always harbors them inside.
The first time someone angers Sarah, she probably will not say anything to that person at that time. However, she will mentally keep track of everything this person does wrong to her until she cannot hold her emotions inside any longer. Then; Boom! Sarah will cloud up and rain all over them. And she will never regret telling someone off, because she knew what she was saying the entire time. She won’t impulsively tell someone off.
Emotional stories will not sway Sarah. She thinks totally with judgment, first considering every situation by the effect it will have on her.
Sarah needs space and time alone. She will be much more efficient if given a job alone, rather than being surrounded by people.
(Letters are written in an average size…not too large, not too small)
People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Sarah doesn’t write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.
(The stick portions of lower case d’s & t’s are not loopy but more like a line)
Sarah will demand respect and will expect others to treat her with honor and dignity. Sarah believes in her ideas and will expect other people to also respect them. She has a lot of pride.
(Lower case o’s don’t have a loop, they are basically circles/ovals)
Sarah will be candid and direct when expressing her opinion. She will tell them what she thinks if they ask for it, whether they like it or not. So, if they don’t really want her opinion, don’t ask for it!
(Lower case m’s & n’s have humps that enlarge from left to right)
Sarah has an over-awareness of self. She often feels self-conscious. She fears ridicule, therefore she is careful not to place herself in a position to receive any ridicule. She wonders what people will think if she acts in a certain manner. When encountering a new group of people, Sarah may stay on the sidelines until she has the people categorized, or she may behave in a “positive attention getting” manner to assure people think good thoughts about her from the start.
In the sales profession, this self-consciousness is called “call reluctance”. They take the word “no” as a personal criticism. Therefore, there is an internal struggle when performing this type of work. Although this person may be a great salesperson, she still feels insecurity. She will perform better if someone else is with her because the fear of ridicule from her peers is far greater than the fear of ridicule from her clients. Many times this type of person becomes a sales trainer, because when she is training, she doesn’t have to put herself in a position of being told “no” as often as the salesmen do.
(Lower case m’s have a second hump that is slightly more pointed than the first hump that is rounded)
In reference to Sarah’s mental abilities, she has a very investigating and creating mind. She investigates projects rapidly because she is curious about many things. She gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but she soon must slow down and look at all the angles. She probably gets too many things going at once. When Sarah slows down, then she becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, she must slow down to do it. She then decides what projects she has time to finish. Thus she finishes at a slower pace than when she started the project.
She has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. Her mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. She can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Sarah can then switch into her low gear. When she is in the slower mode, she can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. She is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.
(Lower case t’s cross at apoint that is slightly higher than the tops of the other lower case letters)
Sarah is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth. This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. She needs to visualize the end of a project before she starts. she finds joy in anticipation and planning. Notice that I said she plans everything she is going to do, that doesn’t necessarily mean things go as planned. Sarah basically feels good about herself. She has a positive self-esteem which contributes to her success. She feels she has the ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to. However, she sets her goals using practicality– not too “out of reach”. She has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, she will not take great risks, as they relate to her goals. A good esteem is one key to a happy life. Although there is room for improvement in the confidence catagery, her self-perception is better than average.
(Lower case t’s are crossed with a stoke that is thicker on the left and tapers to a point on the right)
Sarah is sarcastic. This is a defense mechanism designed to protect her ego when she feels hurt. She pokes people harder than she gets poked. These sarcastic remarks can be very funny. They can also be harsh, bitter, and caustic at the same time.
(Some lower case y’s have a narrow tail loop)
Sarah is selective when picking friends. She does not trust everyone. She has a select group of people that are truly close to her, usually two or three. She is careful when choosing her inner circle of friends.
(The last word in the note ends with a lower case y that has a very large tail loop)
Sarah exaggerates about everything that has a physical nature. Although she may not intend to deceive or mislead, she blows things way out of proportion because that is the way she views them. She will be a good story teller. This exaggeration relates to all areas of her material world. Sarah allows many people into her life because she is accepting and trusting. She is sometimes called gullible by her friends. That only really means that she trusts too many people. Sarah has a vivid imagination.
(The left margain has a severe slant that moves to the left)
For a graphologist, the spacing on the page reflects the writer’s attitude toward their own world and relationship to things in his or her own space. If the inputted data was correct Sarah has left some white space on the left side of the paper. Sarah fills up the rest of the page in a normal fashion moving the entire writing rightward as she moves down the page. If this is true, then Sarah has a healthy relationship to the past and is ready to move on. The right side of the page represents the future and Sarah is ready and willing to get started living now and planning for the future. Sarah is leaving the past behind and moving on to what she perceives as an exciting and enticing future.
…So there’s a very basic analysis of the person who wrote the thank you letter. This of coarse may very well be somebody else’s handwriting…it actually might be Bristol’s as far as we know. Either way, I just thought it would be a fun break to take a look at this.
And hey! EyeOnYou! Thanks for collecting all the thank you note images!!!
Good catch InJuneau… just saw that…
addendum….to #54
5) Palin’s handwritten thank-you notes to donors. (left that off the list by mistake)
@ 53 InJuneau:
Thank you for the link.
Kristan Saap, Miss AK, 1982.
http://www.missalaskapageant.com/pastmissalaskas.html
Cole’s claims that she hadn’t talked to Palin about the Trust until “yesterday” or that Palin had no input into the Trust process is absurd.
1) Palin authorized the fund as her “official fund” and allowed her photo and name used.
2) Palin required that the fund be totally “Alaskan” in its genesis and operations.
3) Palin has a link on her own “SarahPac” to the Fund Trust.
4) I found several sources which state that the governor had certain parameters imposed on the Trust’s structure. One source is the WSJ link below. Note the sentence in bold.
“Palin backers also said all names of donors, dates and contribution amounts will be made public. Supporters say the governor wanted the fund to be more restrictive and transparent than other legal-defense funds.”
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124052923534150395.html
Does any reasonable person, whether Palin fan or not, actually believe Kristan Cole’s statements now?
Mr. Daniel’s interpretation of Alaskan law was accurate….although he did show quite an unprofessional bias of verbalized sympathy in his role as an independent investigator in a legal report.
This whole debacle would have been swept under the rug if the report had not been leaked. I personally think it’s time for the courts….and putting these people under oath. I’m sick and tired of the lies and spins.
NYHawk–I suspect this is the one EatWildFish was reading: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brad-friedman/irony-palin-used-official_b_243161.html
Some of the pee’ers were hurt that they were lied to about $p not knowing about the fund yet they got thank you note. “why RAM, Why?” But she quickly slid it to offense- Chatman is to blame for leaking this to the press!
I think my ears are starting to vomit…
really? seriously? unfrickenbelievable.
Thanks UK Lady and InJuneau, I had another site which has some names different.

Sorry, I looked but could not find it. Please provide the link. Thanks.
Seems all the players in AFT are so busy trying to cover their tracks, they arent even paying attention to what is being revealed in news reports to contradict their lies. One of them needs to stop and thinkor they are all going to run right into each other head first.
Have you got a link for your info mxm. Wiki says Kristan won in 1982.

The pee people must be so pee brained they either don’t know or don’t care that they are being flat out lied to.
What’s that old saying about fools and their money?
Curious to learn more about Kristan Cole or Kristan Tanner – I searched for any info on her claimed Miss Alaska and Mrs Alaska experiences. According to her own real estate site, she was Miss Alaska in 1982.
Sarah Palin attempted the pagent in 1984.
The only listing I have been able to find identifies another person as the winner in 1982. Hmmm….just curious. The identity of the ’82 winner was Toni McFadden. There has never been a Miss Alaska with a first name of Kristen or Krissy or any other permutation. I have not been able to find any listing for Mrs Alaska historical winners.
Just another amusing discrepancy, perhaps there is a reasonable explanation or others can be more effective sleuths on this entertaining matter. I have strong feelings on the value of beauty pagents, and it surprises me not in the least that these two gals were on that circuit as young women.

Good question – since it has no oversight, could be anyone couldn’t it?
I hope the IRS will review this trust to determine the gift implications of that money going to pay Gov. Grifter’s legal bills.
No disbursements for Palin and her atty. But what other disbursements might have been made.
Someone posted in another thread that K Cole was highly respected in the Christian community in Wasilla area. Something that is fast becoming an oxymoron. I really don’t think she is lying. I they actually believe what they are saying when it spews out of their mouths. The truth is whatever they want it to be, so this has all become true to them.
Someone needs to get this little drama posted on Huffpo.
The SS Palin has struck the iceberg, and about 300 rivets have popped. The band is assembling on the upper deck….
Anybody see this??

This just posted on the state website:
“Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell today asked Attorney General Dan Sullivan to provide recommendations on how to prevent leaks of confidential information in ethics probes.”
This reminds me of Watergate – worried about the leaks when the whole damn house is being flooded.
Pants on fire.
Trusted friend Kristan Cole seems to be a bit of a liar. She wouldn’t be a (right wing) bible-thumper….. would she?
Great job again, AKM.
sarah obviously lives in a parallel universe. It blows my mind that there’s a single soul left who listens to her sh!t and calls it gospel.

Found this link that should put to bed Cole’s assertion that Palin had nothing to do with the Fund:
http://texas4palin.blogspot.com/2009/05/donation-prompts-hand-written-palin.html
Immoral majority has posted all of R.A.M.’s comments accusing Kim Chatman of leaking the report. It is done as a comment stating that Kim Chatman has committed a crime and no proof/evidence is offered.
Defamation of character?
Libel?
Slander?
The pit gets deeper – and R.A.M. is now up to her neck in her own filth – and I’ll betcha there’s a lawyer that will take that mouth up on her accusations.
Yeah, I need to go find the chest waders too… I know they’re in that garage somewhere (along with the shovels…).
I’m sorry to see that Parnell has jumped forward on Palin’s behalf. Apparently he doesn’t intend to just be quiet and govern; he has demonstrated the intent to echo Palin’s rants regarding ethics complaints thereby casting his lot with hers — terrible mistake.
Great write up in HuffPo today about this whole spectacle by an investigative legal journalist. It’s fantastic !
One word: Nailed.
One word……”gotcha!”
This just keeps getting better.
So, why is the site still up? Shouldn’t it be frozen until this is settled?
Just curious
I give both Palin and Cole golden shovel awards for piling it high and deep on this one.
@ Bones, I went to the garage for the chest waders on this one, too. The boots just weren’t enough.
Thank you, Mr. Daniel for your report based on legal correctness rather than political correctness. This Alaska citizen thanks you for earning your public dollars.
Kristen Cole was really stupid to release the statement that she did. I would have a hard time believing that an attorney would have written it for her. Van Fleas must be having fit knowing she has released this statement which just opens more holes into their argument.
Hey Krissy, I smell rotting cheese whenever you are near….
It’s his fault. It’s her fault. It’s their fault. I am perfect. Bwwwaaaaaaaaaa!
Everybody is so mean! Bwwwaaaaaaaaaa!
The story of the girl who cried victim is growing so very old.
I have a winch on the front of my truck if any of ya’s get stuck.
You can only dig so deep before it caves in on you. I think this has already happened to these three. Lies will alway come back to haunt you as is happening to these three. They keep forgetting that their words in the past have been recorded, or are they that stupid not to know?
And the fact that Cole’s manifesto was posted on the Sarah’s facebook page.
Yeah, they are not hooked up in this together at all!
Oh the tubes! The tubes!
So Parnell has now asked D. Sullivan to look into how the ethics law can be changed to ensure leaks don’t happen in the future, because this report wasn’t final? What BS.
According to Celtic Diva, this is as final as it is probably going to get. Unless the board Does decide to meet and issue a verdict, however, he was trying to prevent it from going that far with his recommendation that she not take the money.
According to Diva, she isn’t suppose to touch the money for 2 years, but that is when she was Governor, I don’t know how that holds now she has quit. I think Palin is under the impression that if she is no longer Governor she can take the money and fully intends to do so.
I think JHop has some issue with that, but will the law stop Palin, it never has, and probably not now either.
Palin claims to not have recieved any money? So what is the fund doing with the money? What does it plan on doing with it. If it is not going to turn it over to Palin for legal bills, isn’t the fund then a fraud? Is Palin suggesting this fund is phony and needs to be investigated? As usual, Palin’s defense sounds worse than what she is being accussed of doing.
It is not the crime, it is the cover-up. Where have we heard this before?
If you keep digging a hole as Cole is doing, eventually, it will collapse. Look out for falling feces, pups!
More nincompoopery. When will it end? I have such a headache from thinking of how STUPID the Princess makes Alaskans look. Sarah…stop with the drama already! Your credibility is long gone. Just go away. Far away. Like to downtown Manhattan. Just don’t stay here. There aren’t enough open spaces left in Alaska for your terribly large ego anymore.
I keep saying this whole thing can not get any more bizarre and it does!
Those are only knee boots that you show, you need, at least hip waders or maybe even chest waders.
Note to Scarah, RAM, VanFlein and Kristen: Keep digging yourselves into that hole. It is getting so deep, I see no way you will be able to climb out.
Maybe Murdoch will send a helicopter to rescue you – or maybe NOT.
Mudpups will throw cookies down for ya, you betcha!
Lol…I’d like to be a fly on the wall in Daniel’s office, these past few days.
AKM – I’m very disappointed in your supply checklist for wading through the muck. You forgot what is perhaps THE most important item for these sorts of missions: vast quantities of chocolate!!!
Well, you’re a brave soul AKM to wade in that far. *shudder* I’ll get out the water hose to spray all the muck off ya.
Yuk, it just seems to get everywhere once the spray hits it.
Clear outta the way everyone, there’s s*^& everywhere!
…and it’s already seeping into my rubber boots–ugh….okay..I think I’m okay.
will we get this diagramed like we did for her basketball forward analogy? We need one. =0
Dang, I just broke the shovel handle. Hang on while I go find another one… (and refill the flask while I’m at it).
FLASK? no, no take the St. Benard with the little barrel. Buf will do in a pinch.
If I send a $25 donation to the AFT now, do you think I will get a signed letter of “Thanks but no thanks!” from XGINO?
Didn’t think so. The “no thanks” part just ain’t gonna happen.
But a “thank you” letter would still be good for gits and shizzles.
You need a bulldozer to get Thur all that crap .
And let’s not forget that Sarah is the one who appoints a new trustee if the current one gets tired of shoveling her manure at the trust. If Sarah is the one to designate the trustee, doesn’t that infer that she is involved in the trust up to her neck?
needing the snow shovel so soon.
