I don’t know about you, but I think I need this one….. A peaceful fish tank from the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C.
I’m on vacation in DC and was there today! Great museums in DC. Also sat in on the small business vote. Passed!

I think the Repubs are making a huge mistake. They are going to embrace the tea party. But what are they going to do when they (go rogue?) I don’t believe this is a shoe in for the Dems. We are going to have to work for it. If this does not get you going, I don’t know what will.
What is the thinking here for the Repubs? We have a government that doesn’t want to work together will moderates in the mass. Can you imagine what it is going to be like if the far rights of the queen of the Tundra get in? Massive mistake. They may be happy about the prospects of Republicans in “the house.” However, they will be crying when the Queen comes to sit at her throne. They should take this as, “holy cow” you betcha she is getting ready to run. And then, how are they going to feel when the tea party rolls her on in????
Dems need to get the vote out now. I am getting involved. The choice is clear… Palin and her reckless lack of research may back fire. However, it may work to her advantage. Time to remember what mom use to say about the annoying kid in school. Ignore them…

While I really didn’t like this Newsweek article, Fineman does make some good points. The WH needs to continue to blast with both barrels against the party of fear and no, and dems and independents need to get out and vote and not take anything for granted. We must not be confident in the poll numbers (like in Delaware) or we will be looking at a Senator O’Donnell and eventually a President Palin.

wow after reading a little about this Carl Paladino guy…..another real prince.
I used to live in Washington state many years ago and there was a candidate that won the Republican party nomination who was very, very conservative… much like the tea partiers of today. But she was trounced in the general election by her Democratic counterpart. I mean it was a rout. People made it a point to vote against such a inflexible candidate.
Delaware is pretty liberal leaning. I see the same scenario happening in Delaware as WA state many years ago. If this doesn’t motivate people to get to the polls, then nothing will.
I remember her name now: Ellen Craswell. She ran against Gary Locke for for Governor. She was a religious right winger.
The O’Donnell win is frightening for many reasons. Sure, the pundits are now saying that the dem is a shoe in–just like they said that Murkowski would win the primary by a wide margin. But, as this column points out, the danger is in the strength of the tea party and what it has done to intimidate moderates:

I like to think the worm has turned. The GOP unleashed the hounds of hell thinking they could control them, only to find out too late that they can’t.
I was pondering this issue this morning — wondering if sane Republicans (honestly, there are a few of them out there) would band together to do something to fight this. I heard that FreedomWorks (the horror) will not endorse O’Donnell. So, what’s the party to do now? They know that their cushy back-door deals won’t happen with tea-partiers in seats. Will they start turning their backs on fox until the network walks back a lot of its talk? Will fox start reining in the rhetoric from rush & glenn? Are they counting on the tea-party to implode the party so that it can be re-built?
We can all do all that we can to encourage people to vote. Door to door is where it’s at. Sending money is good, volunteering is as good or better — votes, everyone, we need more voters at the polls!

Mike Castle, who she defeated, did not go the negative route until the very last. Chris Coons, her Democratic opponant already has a heap of negative information about the anti masturbation candidate and will not hesitate to use it…I hope! Christine has more skeletons than Sarah has bent canned goods.
…The negatives won’t change any minds….the Faithful will vote for her ANYWAY- because SHE’S JUST LIKE THEM !!! I hope that voters see the danger in having this loon represent them and get out to vote in the general. My fear is that so much is being made of the dem being a shoe-in that people may get complacent. Never has it been so important to vote against the crazies.

The only problem here is the REAL TeaParty is the money behind it, they are just using the wingnuts as a shield for a power grab. The Koch brothers and Rupert Murdoch set this up for their own purposes.

Yes, they have the Koch Brothers’ backing, but they need to be dealt with and not just ridiculed at this late stage. I’m really trying to stay positive about this election, but don’t see enough counter organizing and GOTV work on the Dem side and am worried. They got out the vote and voted in Scott Brown in MA, and that gave them their foothold earlier in this year. They don’t always win, but are doing their best to screw things up.
