Palin’s Remarks After Iowa Premiere (Transcript of Word Salad)

Time to get the giant Caesar-sized bowl and the double Costco bag of Crazy Croutons. Sarah Palin delivered a monstrous serving of word salad after the Iowa premiere of “The Undefeated.”  It appears that the potential presidential candidate was unconcerned with having prepared remarks of any kind, and simply let all those buzz words out of her head, in no particular order. The full transcript of the video is below.

My favorite part is when she explains that we don’t need foreign countries because God gave us the oil and the gas and the coal and we can be totally self-sufficient and not need Saudi Arabia. So, who gave the oil to the Saudis? And didn’t God, by that argument, give us the sun and the wind? The mind reels. Except if you’re at the Pella Opera House watching this movie, and in that case the mind just sits there empty and occasionally makes the mouth go, “Woooooo!”

OK, I don’t want to ruin any more for you, so grab your salad fork (the one on the outside) and let’s dig in.It appears that whoever was taping the speech missed the first part and came in mid-sentence, which totally doesn’t matter.   My comments, as always, are in red.

…so our state could be a contributor to the rest of the U.S., instead of a taker from the U.S. because we have the energy up there that we can be producing, we can be supplying to allow all of us energy independence, energy security. We worked so hard on that. We worked so hard on ethics reform. We worked hard on cutting budgets and vetoing the largest amounts of money in our state’s history, and all those things that the lamestream media completely ignores and wants to dismiss, and yet that set a foundation for what our administration was going to be all about.(And that must be why more people in Alaska, which hasn’t voted for a Democratic President since Johnson, would rather vote for Barack Obama in 2012, than you. See poll HERE.)

So it’s it’s very humbling to know that someone has put such effort into documenting what our team was able to accomplish. And it was a pretty simple agenda. It was all about smaller smarter government, putting the faith and the power back into the people of our state and of course that needs to uh be transitioned into our nation where the people of this country are empowered again and individual rights and freedoms are once again embraced by Americans,  and that will bring us back to the exceptional place that America should be.

But humbling to know that someone has put such effort into documenting my team’s efforts, but even more than that, at the same time as acknowledging what this has documented for me personally. It’s just the the realization that that it’s not about me. (What it means to me personally is that it’s not about me?) The movie’s not about me – it’s about America’s values; it’s about the work ethic that you here in Iowa you all embrace. (Not like those lazy people that live near water that I’m not going to show my movie anywhere near) This film really illustrates a person, a people’s desire to be involved in the greatest government in our world’s history. Wanting to be involved for the right reasons here in America because we are exceptional. Our founding documents, our charters of liberty created a blueprint that would allow us towards more perfect of a union if we would just follow this blueprint so people wanting to be involved with the democratic process within a republic – all of you wanting to be involved for the right reasons. That’s what this film illustrates. (I don’t know what any of that means.)

Got into politics for the right reasons twenty years ago, stayed in politics, put up with what the media does to all of us for the right reasons, and it’s to protect our Constitution. (Make it stop!) It’s to protect the opportunities we all have here in America that has made us so exceptional and to continue to allow us to be an exceptional nation, and we don’t need to transform America into anything else. We need to restore all that is good and free about America.

So, what is so impressive to me about this film is how that is illustrated – not Sarah Palin, not even my record, but the values that are embraced, held by so many good patriotic hard-working Americans who understand freedom, who understand how important it is to fight for freedom – for the opportunities that God has given us here. We’re not going to squander it. We’re not gonna blow it. We’re gonna do… we’re gonna go down fightin’! (Does that mean you know you ARE “going down?”)

What this film shows is that in America, anyone can make a difference. You don’t need a title. You don’t need a political position. Anyone can make a difference being willing to be involved and to sacrifice much, to sacrifice reputation, to sacrifice time of leisure and and perhaps other things that you would love to be able to do but instead you’re going to put your efforts into doing what’s right for other people, providing great opportunities for other people, that provides hope for other people, and that’s what this country needs is not the “hopey changey” stuff that you heard about on the campaign trail, but real hope. And you know where real hope comes from? (I’m afraid to ask but I think you’re going to tell me anyway) Real hope comes from realizing what it is that God has blessed this country with. Realizing that he has shed his grace on thee, realizing what he has provided this country and then doing something about it. What he has provided America – we have the natural resources, we have the farmland, we have the oil and the natural gas and the coal. We have the resources to be self-sufficient. We don’t have to rely on Saudi Arabia, on Venezuela, (inaudible) <—– It doesn’t matter that there’s an inaudible part in something which in its entirety is unintelligible.

We don’t have to rely on foreign countries to produce for America. Yes, actually… we do at the moment. We don’t have to be subsidizing drilling in Brazil. We have to get… our government has to get out of the way and let our private sector do what it does best in responsibly developing our natural resources, and then creating  jobs. Yeah, think of all those oil spill clean up jobs from the responsible private sector exploration in the Gulf! Great for the economy! Our government needs to back off, let the private sector, our job creators grow more jobs by keeping more of what we earn so that we can prioritize and reinvest according to our own priorities.

What God has provided us with natural resources, with ingenuity, with land mass here in America, with our founding documents that are based on Judeo-Christian beliefs, based on time tested truth. (Oil, gas and the Constitution is the new Faith, Hope and Charity) It’s really quite a simple solution if you consider what the problems are facing America, if we could just get back to that responsible development of natural resources, of letting our job creators do what they do best, and of getting back to those Judeo-Christian principles that our founding documents were crafted upon.

Those three relatively simple things to do would get America back on the right course. *slams head in the door*

And it’s an honor to get to be with you all today – for Todd (isn’t he supposed to be fishing about now?) and for me and for my friends to get to be with you all today in a place that gets it. You guys understand that work ethic, that patriotism, those wonderful things about America that maybe some others in the land, certainly in our national government, our federal government need to understand a bit more of – you can help ’em share that message. Hopefully the film will help share that message, not about me but about the values of America that make us exceptional and that we continue to embrace those values and live ’em out, America forever being THE light, the beacon of hope for other countries looking to see what is that they should emulate to ultimately create a more prosperous, healthy and peaceful world. America can be that light again, an exceptional exceptional place, and it’s people like you who can do it.

So thank you so much for being here tonight. God bless you.

At this point I’m just hugging myself and rocking.  Sarah Palin has become her own sock puppet. Pass the croutons…

    Seriously,

Just trying to read it, it gave me an headache. I CAN’T DO IT.

  3. MelvisB says:

I finally have the explanation for her behavior and public speaking difficultities. Her actions are being directed by extra-terrestrials, who feed her what they want her to say through a syntax-challenged translation piped into her ear.

  4. Bearhug says:

Sounds to me like she was a couple of Red Bulls over capacity. Yammering like a Biker Meth Mama…

  5. AKjah says:

Yes AKM i did read the whole thing. I still heard screeching. You are a champ. Thank you. Bob.

For the record: I’m a conservative/libertarian… And I’m barfing right now!

    hahahahhaheeehawww

Already done gone down. Yes she has.

  8. ibwilliamsi says:

I work my tail off, and so does my husband. I resent that she and others like her want to say that only her fans have a work ethic.

    • yukonbushgrma says:

Oh YES. I think of my father, gone for a few years now. He worked 3 shifts, overtime, was a union steward and made it through a few strikes. I remember so much of that, and how we sometimes struggled. But what I do remember is his work ethic. He never lost it, not even the day he died.

Palin and ‘friends’ have no true understanding of what a work ethic is. You only understand that if you have lived it, or learned it as a wee one growing up.

      $P hasn’t lived that life.

    • I grew up in Kansas and there was always talk about a strong work ethic. But it wasn’t applied just to people in the central part of the country. It just meant that if you had a job to do you did it to the best of your ability and that was something others admired; as children we were taught that it was important to have that strong work ethic.

What I see with Palin is that she doesn’t have a clue what that phrase means. She has had jobs that got tough and what did she do? Did she show us a strong work ethic? No, she quit and then whined and blamed other people for her inability to stick it out and see the job through to the end.

      • yukonbushgrma says:

Yep, Pat. You do your job the best you can, and then you do it BETTER — because that was how you were brought up.

        She has no clue.

  9. marcuswelbymd says:

I suppose Mrs P can put her faith in mega Corporations much as she does with her spiritual leader but I, for many, am skeptical and prefer some good ol government helping the working class. by diz
    ____________________________________________________________

Diz, I agree with you about the govt. helping the working class. Mrs. P, however, is a total farce and flake. The word “faith” means nothing when associated with Sarah Palin. She’s a joke.

  10. rikkirom says:

I have always thought clowns were scary …but a family of talking clowns…the HORROR

  11. Ken says:

First, AKM bless your heart for sitting through this, I could never have done it. In fact, the 5-6 minutes it took to read this is time that I will never get back.

It’s a bit late on a weekenight in western NY to open a bottle of wine, but that may have helped. I now have to figure out how to clean my laptop screen of the marking pen that I instinctively used to make punctuation edits of the transcript. What a mess.

    • yukonbushgrma says:

Ohhhhh, poor Ken. Believe me, don’t even try to edit that *#^@. It will only drive you insane.

But, commisserating with you, I have to admit I do the same thing. I try to edit her, and then I get to a point where I just have to give up. She’s UN-EDITABLE.

I really do feel sorry for the people who worked for her. Can you imagine what they had to deal with? They had to try to make sense of this *#^@.

    • Judy5cents says:

America. We love America, founded on Judeo Christian ethics. And yet, America is great. And good And hard-working, And too, the job creation if we just let the Free market stay free and marketing for the good of all the hard working Americans. With Values, Hardworking people who value Sacrifice, and freedom. And the Constitution. founded on faith and freedom. We love our freedom and we’ll keep fighting for it. Freedom, freedom, freedom. America, America, America. Values, Faith, Constitution, Free Market, sacrifice, Freedom, freedom, freedom. Lamestream media.

Right about now, I think someone could slap me and I’d say “Thanks, I needed that.”

AKMuckraker, how do you do it? I know to be fair, I really should listen to what she has to say word for word and in full context, but I just can’t do it. Thanks for doing it for me.

As my mother always said, there will be a star in your crown in heaven for this.

  12. Laura says:

Diz, yes she definitely missed some key chapters in the US history book, and forgot to take that intro to environmental studies class in college. It’s like she is stuck in the Manifest Destiny ERA.

  13. Laura says:

This reminds me of those guys who stand on the street corner shouting a buck of incomprehensible stuff. There is no meat here. She is the true representation of the worst of politics. This could easily be a South Park episode. It’s like she hearse something about America being exceptional, from some preacher, and then it stuck in her mind with no real understanding. Honestly, this is ridiculous. Please make it stop!

    • yukonbushgrma says:

You’re right, Laura. It really could be a great South Park episode. (In fact, I can just imagine the animated characters now!)

Time for another cartoon, Flyinureye! (did i spell that right?)

  14. NotASheeple says:

There was two things in her word salad that struck me. The parts about NOT providing hope for other people and this little doozy……”let the private sector, our job creators grow more jobs by keeping more of what we earn”.

If only she would think before she opens her mouth…and if only the idiots who idolize her would stop and open their ears.

Is she advocating theft of our wages?

*NOTE – the NOT was actually an error in transcription. It was hard to hear, but mea culpa. No excuse for the rest of it, though! AKM

    • dahlia97 says:

“Is she advocating theft of our wages?:

Yes, but notice it’s to be stolen by PRIVATE enterprise and NOT the big bad government
      SO….it’s okay.

  15. Cammie says:

Sarah Palin: “You guys understand that work ethic, that patriotism, those wonderful things about America that maybe some others in the land, certainly in our national government, our federal government need to understand a bit more of –”

Is it ok to use the “C” word? Pretty please?? Just this once???

  16. diz says:

I guess with her focus on the founding fathers, all of ’em, she just hasn’t gotten to that chapter of history that shines a light on the extremely successful rise of private industry, particularly the natural resource industries, when they ‘discovered’ and subsequently laid claim to the bounty of our shared Nation. Those swell oil, coal and land barons who were so generous with the profits of their largesse, their concern for the environment, their compassionate treatment of their endless supply of worker bees (another natural resource Mrs P). Yes being a coal miner, or an oil rig worker or a hard scrabble farmer worked out so well for those engaged. Then, that nasty big time government stepped in. Yep $carah, that’s when we started down that slippery slope to the ruin you love to describe. When we dared look to the pockets of the robber barons and denied them even larger profits by insisting they follow rules and regulations. Pay taxes (that they then pass along to their consumers anyway), pay a living wage, provide a safe working environment, repair environmental damages caused while ‘harvesting’ said resources. I suppose Mrs P can put her faith in mega Corporations much as she does with her spiritual leader but I, for many, am skeptical and prefer some good ol’ government helping the working class.

  17. seattlefan says:

Oh my……once again you have subjected yourself to torture to transcribe that mess. I couldn’t even listen to her much less have to concentrate enough to actually write it down. When I read her speeches I get a visual of one of those cages at a Bingo Hall that goes round and round spinning the numbers. That cage is her brain and the numbered tiles are her words and thoughts. Her thoughts and words just spin and spill out in no logical order. I hope you had lots of cocktails after finishing that.

  18. Pat in MA says:

    O. M. G. if it weren’t for your comments AKM, I wouldn’t have made through one paragraph (and I use the term loosely) of that garbled mess. I haven’t read other comments yet because I have to vent before I read so apologies if I’m repeating…

Sentence structure is a concept completely unknown to this woman.

My brain really started to hurt at her rambling about “the blueprint” and I was about to give up at that point until your “I don’t know what any of that means” comment made me laugh.

Lots of talk about WHAT we need to do (most of which makes no sense), and never a peep about HOW to do anything.

Sarah says heck anyone can make a difference and be involved and sacrifice. Clearly, leading by example is not her strong suit.

One last thing – Sarah, where oh where are these job creators of whom you speak?

Thanks again AKM, hope you didn’t hurt yourself too badly slamming your head into the door 🙂

    Signed,
One of those lazy people that lives near the water

  19. karen marie says:

I guess nobody told Palin that “our founding documents” were cribbed together by Thomas Jefferson from European and ancient Greek and Roman ideas about government. I’d love to be there when someone tells her so I could watch her head explode.

Also, too, she’s full of shit.

If ingenuity is such a great attribute, why does she work so hard to prevent that ingenuity being used to gain independence from fossil fuel?

  20. Irishgirl says:

I can generally listen to any Palin word salad (it is not easy)….I couldn’t listen to this however. I did try twice! Thanks AKM for the transcription.

  21. LibertyLover says:

I see that Phoenix is on the list of preview cities. In fact, it’s playing at a theatre 2 miles away. But, I think I will be seeing Harry Potter on the 15th. Thanks but no thanks, Ms. Palin.

  22. Nebraska Native says:

OMG. I tried reading some of it aloud. I couldn’t. And who is dressing her? Wow. I am speechless. Here’s a virtual glass of wine to you AKM, you earned it for this!

  23. Mich says:

God, I hate this woman…whomever listened to this drivel enough to actually transcribe it deserves sainthood. I just can’t listen to her…

I was eating lunch listening to this and I almost stabbed a fork in my ear. Please make her go away.

  24. LibertyLover says:

Holy cow. My hat is off to you AKM!

    I. Just. Can’t. Finish. Watching.

Can’t imagine how you transcripted that swill.

  25. blue moose says:

This women is mentally ill.. and in that respect it is hard to stomach. Why doesn’t somebody get her some professional help? Oh well, that was just a repeat of absolute garble. nothing to see there.

  26. Baker's Dozen says:

News flash! Bristol Palin’s publisher of the “based on a semi-true story” docu-novel, concerned about lackadaisical sales, have pulled the book off the market and plan to re-release it with a new title under “fiction.”

“I Need to Get a Life,” A coming-of-age in Wassup, AK about a high school girl whose father is an accountant and whose mother is governor of Alaska by Bristolle Beigh Paylinne will be on the shelves in time for All Star Break, 2011.

  27. Ripley in CT says:

I swear, reading that mess gives me the urge to suck my thumb and rub the soft edge of my favorite blankie between my fingers in the corner of my room.

    Ouch.

  28. physicsmom says:

    When she said this:
“This film really illustrates a person, a people’s desire to be involved in the greatest government in our world’s history. ”
Did she mean to say that her reign in Alaska was the greatest in the history of the world? NPD, oh yeah.

    • MonaLisa (inCT) says:

I’ve been reading up on personality disorders lately (mainly borderline personality disorder, but NPD has many similarities, and quite often, NPD’s and BPD’s get together because their neediness’ complement and make them co-dependent on each other. Scary, scary combo for children of such a union.)

  29. I have pity on the teachers who had to read Palin’s school papers.

    • They should never have given her a passing grade, but my guess is that they wanted to get her out of their classes and passed her along. I think it’s rather telling that none of her former teachers have come forward claiming proudly that they remember her when she was a student.

I only taught second grade for six years a long time ago and there are still kids whose names and faces I remember vividly. If any of them ever run for public office, I’d be proud to claim that I knew them back in the day.

    • LibertyLover says:

Is it any wonder it took her so many colleges to graduate?

  30. Oh, I forgot to mention that I notice she is one of those who wants to return to isolationist days. That didn’t work out so well the first time round. In our current global world, it wouldn’t work at all. The days are gone when we can just close our doors to the rest of the world.

Does she know that if we rely only on the energy sources we have in our country that we will exhaust them even sooner? There was quite a bit of natural gas in southwest Kansas. But about twenty years ago they started realizing that tapping into that great resource was affecting the water tables in a part of the state that already has to irrigate to have viable crops. I don’t know what they did about it.

SP and the repubs constantly talk about government getting out of the way of the private sector. Well, since all those billionaires have even more money than they did ten or twenty years ago, why haven’t they created more jobs. They are getting more tax breaks than ever and it doesn’t seem to me that it has inspired them to do anything about jobs in our country. They just look for more ways to cheat on their taxes so they have more money to keep for themselves.

  31. Oh, my! I listened to 30 seconds and had to silence her. I don’t know how you stood it. Even just reading it, I had to fix a cup of peppermint tea to settle my stomach.

Ignoring all the incomprehensible run-on sentences, I did find myself putting on my would-be English teacher hat at certain points. I know that exceptional is the newest buzz word, but she really shouldn’t use the same word so many times in one sentence or what she tries to pass off as a sentence. And she should have learned that little tip in her journalism classes.

And if one is going to constantly quote the constitution and the founding fathers, one should really read said document and study our early American history with a bit more diligence.

She really does drive me crazy. I’m taking off my poor English teacher hat and trying to protect it from any further damage.

And now I need a strong cup of tea and some more chocolate.

  32. zyggy says:

Ok ok, this statement has me wanting to start drinking before noon,

“Anyone can make a difference being willing to be involved and to sacrifice much, to sacrifice reputation, to sacrifice time of leisure and and perhaps other things that you would love to be able to do but instead you’re going to put your efforts into doing what’s right for other people, providing great opportunities for other people, not provide hope for other people, and that’s what this country needs is not the “hopey changey” stuff that you heard about on the campaign trail, but real hope…”

    ????? Anyone, Bueller? Any ideas?

    • Blooper says:

Ummm… Provide real hope by not providing hope for other people? That’s all I got, and it ain’t much.
      😉

      • zyggy says:

hahahahahaha that’s far better than I could come up with. I only came up with, She’s hopeless. =)

    • bubbles says:

say what? Zyggy i got nuthin’.

  33. dahlia97 says:

Thanks AKM for typing this out so I don’t have to watch her…And I always enjoy (and get further insights) from your comments in red. This site is the BEST (not trying to be an elitist or anything).

  34. beth says:

Per Palin usual, nary a word of gratitude to anyone connected to the puffumentary…

Granted, the video starts mid-sentence, so we’ve no idea how long she’s already been salading, but in the 7:21 that is captured: nothing. She is “humbled” (twice) that “someone“(!)would ‘document her/her team’s efforts’, and she says “thank you” (once) to the folks who showed up to watch it with her. Beyond that: zip. Nada. Goose egg. Dead air.

Bannon is, noticeably, *not* mentioned. At all. It’s almost as if she views the movie as her due.

I do not know this Bannon fellow at all (other than what I’ve read about him), but I do know a smidge about human nature. All protestations and ‘previous agreements’ aside, when it comes right down to it, it has *got* to hurt a bit that the focus/star of a movie you’ve poured your considerable money, time, talent, and effort into, doesn’t even acknowledge you –even once!– at the premiere! Surely he is smarting a bit from that Palin-typical slap in the face. Who wouldn’t be?

I wonder if he’s beginning to, maybe, see her in a tad different light now… beth.

    • yukonbushgrma says:

Beth, the last guy who did a film for her — John Ziegler — has come out to say that she should not run for president. (Sorry, I lost the link for that, but … ) He says she had a poor organization and that contributed to the detriment of it all. Ziegler still wants a conservative to win the Presidency, but he hopes $P doesn’t run.

      And he’s a former supporter!

  35. maelewis says:

I think that the title of the movie says it all, “undefeated.” In Sarah’s mind, she never lost in 2008. They just haven’t let her move into the White House yet. How in the world can she call herself “undefeated” when she lost the Lt.Governor race, and she helped John McCain lose in 2008? Or, as Tina Fey says, in the persona of Palin, she didn’t lose in 2008; she came in second, winning the silver medal.

  36. Lee323 says:

Sarah Palin: “It’s really quite a simple solution if you consider what the problems are facing America…”

Greek poet and playwright, Aristophanes, had her pegged back in 424 B.C.:

“Demosthenes [to the Sausage-Seller]: Mix and knead together all the state business as you do for your sausages. To win the people, always cook them some savoury that pleases them. Besides, you possess all the attributes of a demagogue; a screeching, horrible voice, a perverse, crossgrained nature and the language of the market-place. In you all is united which is needful for governing.”
    (tr. O’Neill 1938, Perseus)
    Knights line 214-219

“Sausage-Seller: You [demagogues] are like the fishers for eels; in still waters they catch nothing, but if they thoroughly stir up the slime, their fishing is good; in the same way it’s only in troublous times that you line your pockets.”
    (tr. O’Neill 1938, Perseus)
    Knights, line 864-867
    ———————————————————————————

Yep. Simple Sarah. Classic demagogue. Kneader of sausages and fisher of eels. Nothing new under the sun….

  37. MelvisB says:

Why waste valuable time with preparation?

  38. Mo says:

Anybody else wonderin’ ’bout the “Ah’m From Texas” outfit?

  39. Nebraska Mudpuppy says:

OMG, i couldn’t read it all let alone watch the video. I don’t know you do it Jeanne, you must some kind of elaborate, Roman-style vomatorium in your house.

But after all that praise for Alaska, why doesn’t anyone ask her why she is moving to Arizona. It’s not like it would make her look like a hypocrite or anything.

    • Millie says:

It’s because she knows she’s not respected or acknowledged in Alaska by the majority of the residents! And, remember, she is going in Alaska’s history records as Alaska’s Worst Governor!!!

  40. Blooper says:

First off, thank you Jeannie for making this ‘speech’ at least somewhat palatable. I think you’re the best Palinese -> English translator in existence.

And did I just count the word ‘exceptional’ being used no less than 7 times in this speech? Why, I do believe that may be a new record. What other words deserve top honors in the all-you-can-eat Paylin salad buffet?

    Me – 6
    Values – 4
    America – 19
    Judeo-Christian – 2
And special guest of honor phrase: ‘Not about me’ – 3

Oh, there’s a Palin in my head and I can’t make it stop.

    • Blooper says:

Jeanne, I just caught that I spelled your name wrong (does face palm). My apologies! 🙂

  41. beaglemom says:

Thank you, AKM, for the transcription. Whenever I see a video of Mrs. Palin, I turn off the sound and just watch. I cannot stand her voice or the nonsense that comes out of her mouth.

I was wondering. What kind of salad dressing would one use for Palin word salad?

  42. carol says:

I didn’t watch/listen to the video – can’t stand the sight or sound of her. Didn’t even read the transcript – except the red patches. Enough for me. I don’t have the cast iron gut I used to. Have read all the comments because they make so much more sense than the Quitter does. When she opens her mouth, STUPID falls out, sounds like Bristol is learning the same speach pattern.

  43. CoyoteMarti says:

AKM, I ‘specially loved your comment: Oil, gas and the Constitution is the new Faith, Hope and Charity. Heck, I think it’s her very own Noun,Verb,911! Thanks again for donating more brain cells to the greater good.

  44. zyggy says:

AKM, are you ears still bleeding from listening to her screeching? OMG I tried 10 seconds of it and had to stop. You deserve a huge reward.

  45. Ratfish says:

Yeah- but she had a huge cross on her belt buckle so we know she is a real good Christian. And if you are Jewish, don’t despair- she has the most humungous Star of David that she likes to wear when she thinks some people of the Jewish persuasion may see the picture and know that she supports ’em all.

She just didn’t think there’d be too many in Pella, and she doesn’t like to mix’n’match.

    You betcha.

    • Cortez says:

She is so patronizing! Can you imagine the POTUS wearing a Star of David everytime he meets with the leaders of Isreal? Or any other blatent sign of sucking up to whoever he is around?

  46. tallimat says:

    Morning ya’ll…
When the Worst Govenor Ever campaigned for Gov, she really didn’t debate. Sure we saw campaign ads and the ever present open-n-transparent meme, but thats about it. The campaign back then operated as the same head of lettuce, so to speak and I’m rather thankful.

  47. Molly says:

It’s not about “Sarah Palin”, it’s all about how Sarah Palin stands as an exemplar for the root ideas that the guys who thought about forming this nation did, oh, and it’s gotta be about oil, of which, God shed his grace on thee, plus, perhaps, not about hope, but about real hope, like Bristol shows when she shows what a righteous teenage mom to three, I mean two, oh, I mean one baby so far–how she can also stand as an exemplar to fellow Americans, and all about making a difference in the little people’s lives which they so strive for and happy to see so many who “get it” and love me and my family and are so happy to open their wallets and hearts to us so often through all these years, and hoping against hope that they will continue to do so as long as Todd and I continue to put ourselves out there and disavow ourselves of such leisure activites as traveling the country, having others raise our children and grandchildren, and grifting, I mean gifting the patriots of this great nation of abundant non-renewable resources and……….

    God Bless (Sarah Palin)!

Understanding word salad is easy, just let your mind go completely blank and stuff falls into place. god sheds his Grace on thee( WR Grace Co. completely EXXONerated of blame for causing deaths and illness in Libby,Montana(Libby as in Scooter Libby-ex-aid to former veep Cheney),who was instrumental in outing covert CIA agent and writing a pornographic NOVEL*as in Paylin’s perception of her OWN views(own as in trademark) your name so you can sue for ROYALTIES(as in Paylin’s image of her self) and her families place in AMERICAN history(as in the world according to Paylinbots who rewrite history to conform to Sarah’s word salad and so we’ve come full circle and like a Sarah Paylin Special Speech we’ve gotten absolutely nowhere.

  48. bubbles says:

well AKM i don’t know. Buttercup does have a point about the lamestream media.
the media is lame. it refuses to do its job of informing the public without respect of partisan politics.
it is lazy. the media prefers to show us pretty women and pretty men to make up for its lack of informative and well read journalists.
the media has been co-opted by its corporate owners.
the media no longer fears penalties by the FCC because the FCC has has been stripped of its power to take away its license to broadcast either by radio or television.
if it were not so America would not be under threat by deranged psychopaths like Palin, Bachmann, McConnell, Cantor and many, many others.
thank you AKM for this great post. i truly don’t know how you do it but i am glad you do.

    • yukonbushgrma says:

Bubs, my major in college was journalism. My favorite (and scariest) prof was a former chief copy editor for the Wall Street Journal (back when the Journal was a truly respected rag). That prof scared us all to death about finding THE TRUTH — and he kept hammering it into us that WE were the ones who had to get to the bottom of the story. He never, ever, gave us a break.

That was right in the midst of the Pentagon Papers and Watergate, so we really got some good lessons. Believe me, I’ve never forgotten him. There ain’t too many like him anymore. I wish he were still there at the Journal — or any other MSM.

  49. Simple MInd says:

This is fascinating stuff. Palin supporters/Tea Baggers operate on images, not logic. To them, it makes perfect sense to take away their wages and give it all to investment bankers so they can shift jobs to developing nations. If you just believe and stop trying, the clock will run backwards to an imaginary time when everyone was white, healthy, employed, married to one person of the other gender and never had to go to the bathroom. A plate of cookies really will solve a disastrous economy. The words Palin babbles just have to evoke images. She doesn’t have to make sense or even complete sentences. In fact, its better if she makes no sense. Critical thinking means dealing with real conflict. Better not to think. Logic doesn’t matter. Just believe and keep sending in those checks.

  50. merrycricket says:

Quote: Our founding documents, our charters of liberty created a blueprint that would allow us towards more perfect of a union if we would just follow this blueprint so people wanting to be involved with the democratic process within a republic – all of you wanting to be involved for the right reasons. That’s what this film illustrates.

So, if I want to be involved, it has to be with her blessing? Otherwise, I shouldn’t be allowed to because it’s all the wrong reasons? Is that right? She needs to go suck on a cactus!

  51. Baker's Dozen says:

I have to read the comments later, but oh my golly, I needed a laugh today and Sarah has come through! Providing in constitution at freedom between feeling crappy workizing to better oil fields of grain bein happy also you betcha too.

Does her mother let her leave the house looking like that?!

Did any school graduate her sounding like that?!

    • Dagian says:

None of them are rushing to embrace her. Nor do they use her as a marketing tool.

      Imagine…

“Yes, we gave Sarah Palin her degree! Every time she opens her mouth, well, you can just tell that she spent time in OUR college!”

      *mwaha-mwahaha!*

      • Cortez says:

My son goes to the University of Idaho. Sarah’s name is never mentioned as an alumni. Other than he grew up with her daughters here in Wasilla, he would have never known that Sarah went there.

        • Dagian says:

I’m not surprised they don’t speak about her. After all, they do have a fine university despite some slip-ups. All universities have them…

I hope your son is doing well there. What’s his major?

          • Cortez says:

Business – Marketing. But he just finished his freshman year, so who knows what he will end up with.

  52. mike from iowa says:

Palin was offered as a replacement for the MGM Lion at a very lucrative salary. Since Sarah is so past-tense she will be on display as the MGM Lior and she can snarl about the lamestream media all she wants.

Sarah’s frenetic rat-brain is thrumming with the words, “But I was the VP running mate!?”

  57. weaver57 says:

Dear AKM: I do not even begin to comprehend how you are able to type this salad. I could not even finish reading it. Certainly could not listen to her screech it out. Ugh! Many thanks.

  58. leenie17 says:

Wow! Either she’s on a new kind of stimulant or she tripled the dosage of whatever she was on before. Most of that makes no sense whatsoever and I thank you, AKM, for transcribing it because I just cannot listen to that voice any more.

This speech reminds me of those magnetic words you buy to make poetry on the refrigerator. I swear she just throws a box of them up in the air, tells Piper to collect them and repeats them in whatever order they landed in.

Do people really applaud for this kind of verbal manure???

Can someone help me? I know the Creator is mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, but I can’t find (other than a mere mention of God) how the founding documents are based on Christian values. Where in the Bible is the discussion of a bicameral legislature? Or the right to bear arms? Does God prefer term limits? If so, why weren’t they put in the constitution?

Thank you, AKM. You have come through once again to save us from the agony of having to listen to Sarah (our health insurance companies should lower our premiums every time you do because you shield us from harm).

In addition, your comments are truly priceless and make having to read Sarah’s words tolerable because we know we will be rewarded by your wit. In my opinion, you are one of the key bloggers in bringing down Sarah Palin. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  63. I See Villages From My House says:

The only time I was really worried (other than her roll-out at the RNC convention as McCain’s running mate) about Sarah upping her game was at the first Tea Party convention.

She was quiet long enough to be mistaken for preparing – I thought maybe she’d done some homework and serious assessment on the State of the Country and was going to make a speech for the ages, clearly defining and capitalizing on this in-articulated and amorphous anger from the 2010 POTUS loss.

She put as much work into that speech as she did at the Not About Me movie premier.

Sarah winning the Alaska Gubernatorial race was a fluke and as the realization of incompetence was being revealed to voters, McCain swooped in and saved her another 8 weeks of governing and helped give her an excuse to quit months later.

Sarah is something else, who else here would have the nerve and the gall to tout their supposed strengths when it is all dispelled in her everyday actions?

This all has made you rich, we can’t take that away from you Sarah, but we all know that you are lazy, thin skinned, you don’t put family first (unless that makes them a shield) and you desire a title more than anything in the world.

    • johnny says:

That’s the one where she debuted the “hopey changey” snarl? I noticed she recycled again on Tuesday.

      • I See Villages From My House says:

Yes, I’m surprised she didn’t deride feminists and Kumbaya this time either, also too.

    • Krubozumo Nyankoye says:

It’s the money. Palin does not have the chops it would take to rise to her present level except for the fact that Rupert Murdoch handed her a $7 million prize for being the most obnoxious spewer of toxic rhetoric since Joe MaCarthy. She has suffered greatly, despite being insulated well beyond anything provided to astronauts to shield them from the harsh environment of space. But at $100 grand a pop it is worth it to take a first class plane ride and and read a lightly modified screen over and over while being rigidly protected from even the slightest scrutiny or reporting.

The thing is, there is no substance to any of it at all, hence the current collapse of faith on the part of the supposedly faithful. My take on Palin is that the word that characterizes her best is *mercurial* but not with its usual connotations. Rather it should connote the features of the actual purified element and not at all the mythical character. McCain spilled the mercury on the floor, and it dispersed throughout the land like the myriad droplets formed by the real thing, some microscopic and therefore insidious beyond imagination. Incredibly difficult to clean up, nothing short of a powerful highly filtered custom designed vacuum machine can tackle it. In other words the well has been poisoned and it will be a long time before it recovers, if it ever does.

I cannot entirely blame John McCain for this pollution. He bears a heavy responsibility no doubt because he caved in to the threats and inducements of the radical right wing nut jobs who saw this incredibly ill equiped and irrational woman as a sure winner. Almost no one, except for a tiny minority of similarly compromised intellects was fooled. But the right wing nut jobs have not gone quietly into that good night either. They have redoubled their efforts.

She is a crude puppet, unworthy of scorn.

      • yukonbushgrma says:

  66. I See Villages From My House says:

“What this film shows is that in America, anyone can make a difference. You don’t need a title. You don’t need a political position. Anyone can make a difference being willing to be involved and to sacrifice much,”

    Yeah… well… pffft!

    Dear whatzername-
Have been ignoring you and going back to it in a moment but, really, do you really believe the hogwash which comes out of your mouth? Really?

How’s about you ask the ghosts of the 29 dead miners in West Virginia about what great jobs they had with all that deregulation and lack of funded oversight of one of the most dangerous industries did for them?
    Point3-
Those J-C principles? The ones like loving your neighbor?
    http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/2011/06/natives-targeted-most-for-hate-crimes/

    • ks sunflower says:

Well done, Alaska Pi, well done.

    • dahlia97 says:

Yes! And I’m sick and tired of the words ‘elitist’ and ‘exceptional ism’ that she and others use over and over.
Anyone who disagrees with her is condemned as an elitist…..
and our country is exceptional? What does that mean?…
I think citizens of any country who love their country think theirs is the greatest..maybe they looked to America as a ‘land of opportunity’ at one time, but they loved their own country and culture and thought it was the best…. ‘exceptional ism? The way that word is used today, to me, connotes excessive patriotism (the kind that doesn’t allow anyone to criticize to try to improve America).

      • Alaska Pi says:

        http://onfaith.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/panelists/Robert_P_Jones/2010/12/american_exceptionalism_divine_hall_pass.html
Here’s a short but decent run at comparing what has traditionally been called American exceptionalism and the current religious right’s hoo-bobby notion of what it might be.

The ‘hall pass’ current notion has many failings .
For me it most clearly fails because it relies on a closed system of valuation and morality.

“Any principle of ethics that enjoins the perpetual seclusion of our free will within a closed system of valuation is ipso facto perverse. As in political constitutions of the ‘open’ type, there must be in ethics a principle which encourages the enlargement and enrichment of moral experience. The good is, like nature, an immense landscape in which man advances through centuries of exploration. With acute conciousness of this, Flaubert once wrote:’The ideal is fertile-that is, morally fertile-only when it is all-embracing. It is the work of love and not of exclusion ”

        Jose Ortega y Gasset
        Meditations on Quixote

The ‘elitist’ dealie is just a lazy way of ignoring complex questions which has morphed into a catch-all for writing off any group the far right disagrees with, which is lazier yet.

      • yukonbushgrma says:

Uh-oh, NOW I really do think she’s planning to run on a 3rd party ticket. That’s why she hasn’t felt any urgency to jump in with the GOP.

The inflection in her voice, the wailing of her hands, words being tossed out, sentences not connecting – I thought she was going to jump out of her skin there a few times. I guess not many of the Sea’o’peers drove hundreds of miles, as instructed to do so, to fill up the room – didn’t sound like hundreds of people there to me. I thought she was on jury duty.

    • johnny says:

Tacky, that cross on the belt buckle. Like the idea of honoring Jesus is to have his image on your crotch.

      • ks sunflower says:

I think it was crucifix, which according to some Catholics, should be worn near your heart.

No comment about where Sarah chose to wear it. Self-explanatory about what’s nearest and dearest to her — or the GOP/TP donors. My, my, my.

He choice of using a crucifix belt buckle – so tacky and low-class aside from being disrespectful. Makes one wonder if she wears flag thongs.

      • mike from iowa says:

Some of us need mucho helpo in that region, trying to determine if that would be a prefix or a suffix-crucifix.

        • LA Brian says:

The difference between a cross and a crucifix is that the latter has the image of Jesus upon it. Although I was raised Catholic I wasn’t aware of anyy rules regarding where one should be worn — only that rosaries were NEVER to be worn as necklaces!

          • leenie17 says:

I must confess that I did wear rosaries as a necklace ONE time.

I was about 8 years old and playing with the ouija board that my older sister had just gotten. My best friend and I got so spooked by it, we decided to put on rosary beads for protection (eight-year-old’s logic at work!). For some strange reason, I had several pairs of plastic rosary beads that glowed in the dark so those were the ones we used.

The funniest thing was that my best friend was Jewish so we weren’t quite sure if the beads would really protect her after all but we figured we’d give it a shot, just in case!

          • leenie, my best friend was Catholic and had one rosary that was a glow-in-the-dark one. We used to take it in her closet to see it glow. Never thought about wearing it though. However, that’s not a bad idea when the Ouija board starts acting weirder than normal.

  74. overthemoon says:

Hahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!! Sarah continues her bus tour to important historic locations…like the Mall of America? Nobody came…or only a handful. Get a load of the ‘rules’ for getting a Palin signature (trademarked, don’t ya know?)

snip…Here is the list of rules a fan had to go through in order to get their book signed:

No overnight waiting. Line up starting at 5 a.m.
Wristbands will be distributed starting at 6 a.m. to those who buy Bristol’s book
You must have a copy of Bristol’s book to purchase either of Sarah’s books.
Each person must be present to get a wristband. They’re not transferable.
No belongings or bags allowed on stage for the signing.
No memorabilia will be signed; no personalization allowed.
No photos on stage; “cameras and cell phones are to be put away once you reach the stage stairs”
Stay in line. If you leave to use the bathroom or get food for a short period, someone in your party must stay in line at all times.
If you leave for an extended period, you must go to the end of the line.

Doesn’t seem as if they needed all of those rules, since there was hardly a rush. Overall, an estimated 300 people showed up according to the local TV station. This is the free market in its full beauty, for without demand there is no need to produce the product. While the media expresses shock over the low numbers, those who have been paying attention realized that Palin has been failing to draw big crowds for a while now. Her speech in Wisconsin was populated mostly by protesters, for example, and last night at her premiere, we could see the pavement in “crowd” shots just feet away from her. …”

    • Dagian says:

“You must have a copy of Bristol’s book to purchase either of Sarah’s books.”

That’s why they stayed away in droves. The very notion of buying two pop-up books made them all light-headed and they had to lie down with their feet elevated.

      • Baker's Dozen says:

        Hey!
My then 10-year-old used to make pop up books for her little sister! Show some respect for artistic, literary, and factual integrity!

        • Dagian says:

          Sorry!

I like pop-up books and respect the art form, but I can’t see either Palin putting a lot of thought, artistry, literacy or factual integrity into one.

I mean, did Bristol really insinuate that she was raped, or not? I can’t believe that her editorial board and their team of lawyers let that one get published. Unless it was a marketing ploy to drum up buyers, if not readers.

Okay, not a pop-up book. Well, I doubt she can draw well enough to put together a GOOD graphic novel.

She lacks the spare wit necessary for “Harold and the Crayon”.

          *Help!*

          • physicsmom says:

I agree about “Harold and the Purple Crayon,” she is no way smart enough to understand that book. (it’s a favorite I often buy for new babies).

      • You know, the other problem is that people who would actually want to buy a Palin book probably don’t have that much extra money because they are either in a low-paying job or out of a job. Hopefully, the retired folks will realize they need to keep their money for more important things like food and rent.

        • yukonbushgrma says:

I’m afraid many won’t realize anything until they hear their Medicare and Social Security have been cut.

          IT HAD BETTER NOT HAPPEN.

It’s getting that bad. They really don’t think the GOP needs to negotiate on anything, and they still think the GOP is their savior.

          Sad.

    • yukonbushgrma says:

      Here’s another good account:

      from http://minnesotaindependent.com

“Rules for the event were strict, presumably to ensure both the safety of the family and sales of the books. The line started at 5 a.m., and according to rules set up in advance, wristbands — blue, not the typical red associated with the GOP — were distributed, but only to ‘those who buy Bristol’s book.’

[THEN THEY LISTED ALL THE RULES]

“Media access was strict too: Photographers were confined to a small space and given only five minutes to shoot.

“Mall officials say that around 1,500 people showed up over the course of the day, and the Palins signed some 700 books.”

I LOVED ONE OF THE COMMENTS:
“A not-to-miss video of the event from the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. Especially the ending where Palins and security all get in the elevator and then comes running the nanny with Tripp in the stroller trying to squeeze in. They almost left him behind!”
      STAR TRIBUNE LINK – http://www.startribune.com/video/124773708.html
(The reporter commented that not even the president would be covered by so much security.)

      • Gah, they are disgusting. I had to chuckle when some guy said to Todd – we love you too, man. Wouldn’t it be great if it turned out the guy that said it turns out to be gay? Sorry, I just love anything that points out their hipocracy.

  75. benlomond2 says:

“So, what is so impressive to me about this film is how that is illustrated – not Sarah Palin, not even my record, but the values that are embraced,”….
    Vaules embraced…
    1) Don’t get married before getting pregnant
    2) Don’t pay your fair share of taxes unless caught
    3) Be sure to spread rumors and lies about people
    4) Put your kids in limelight, then complain about
    5) Be a victim to get your way
    6) Threaten lawsuits to silence your detractors ( “Bring it on, Buttercup!” H/T to SM)
    7) Accuse people you don’t like of being child molesters

oh, there are too many examples of her values, and I have to go to work….

  76. rebekkah says:

She’s pushing her image down people’s throats now. She just won’t give up, even with all the proof her political career is over and she won’t take no. She must try one last time to fool a crowd, any crowd, but, everyone knows, except her, that she’s like the wicked witch…..Oh, I’m melting, what a world, what a world, the LSM has destroyed my semblance of wonderfulness…..ohh”

    • leenie17 says:

It’s kind of like an old time faded movie actress, in moth-eaten fur stole, red lipstick running down her chin, wig askew, running after an innocent passerby crying, “But I’m a STAR!!!”

If she weren’t still so dangerous with the hate she spreads, it would almost be pathetic and sad.

      • lftismygame says:

I still say it reminds me of the end of This is Spinal Tap, where the prop Stonehenge arrives only 12″ high.

      • Baker's Dozen says:

        “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?”

        • Moles says:

          Norma Desmond?

          • Judy5cents says:

I’m ready for my close up now Mr. DeMille…

In “Sunset Boulevard,” Norma Desmond’s fans were long gone, they only existed in the fake fan letters her ex-husband director/butler wrote to her every week. Sarah Palin’s fans are still out there (a couple of them popped up as trolls on my amazon review of “Bind Allegiance”)

Maybe in thirty years, Sarah Palin will be secluded in her luxurious mansion in Arizona, surrounded by memorabilia from the 2008 campaign. And of course, Todd will be in charge of sending her hundreds of fake tweets (or whatever form of communication we’ll be using in 2041) telling her how much she did for Freedom, America and Jesus.

  77. OMG says:

I’ve notice a definite lack of media coverage about the Pathetic Palin Princess as of late–isn’t it glorious!

  78. Elsie says:

I tried not to listen too carefully to the video, because I worried about frying what few brain cells I actually have left, BUT….

It seems to me that whenever she heard some enthusiastic feedback from her minions for certain phrases/words, she returned to those same phrases/talking points and ran them back through the crowd for another round of supportive claps and whoops.

That leads me to believe the woman has a few brain cells herself dedicated to the Pavlovian response of feeding the crowds more of what it will respond to, so as to draw more responses that indicate support for her blathering nonsense.

However, I might just be confused, since my brain hurts, and I’m trying to locate the mental version of bleach in order to clean up the residue of her crazy talking points…

    • Cortez says:

I think you have hit the nail on the head. This is the basis for all of her public comments. She goes back to the same talking points that she has had positive reinforcement on. Never offering anything new or possible solutions, just keep the frenzy going.

  79. Diane says:

11 million dollars and she couldn’t hire a speech writer?

    • mike from iowa says:

Her worst enemy couldn’t write a speech as obtuse as Sarah spews. Just saying. She needs a handler who will put a muzzle on her and forget where she put it.

  80. Nan (aka roswellborn) says:

“We have the resources to be self-sufficient. We don’t have to rely on Saudi Arabia, on Venezuela, (inaudible)”

Wasn’t it Venezuela that supplied so much oil to the villages in rural Alaska? Maybe that was the inaudible bit… yeah, right.

    • leu2500 says:

And a Venezuelan company was one of Todd’s Iron dog sponsors, IIRC.

  81. sharon says:

OMG…everytime she wants to draw the applause from the crowd, she raises her voice and spews out one of her lame talking points. And right on cue, they clap. It’s really unbelieveable this dumbass woman still draws even one person out to hear her. But, if the book signing is any indication, her 15 minutes are finally coming to an end. The crowd at the “movie” premier didn’t seem very large either. I also LOVE the comments in red. Brilliant! haha

    • Lilybart says:

If you see video of the crowd at the mall, one might be uncharitable and say it looks like all the Loons on the lakes in the Twin Cities were there.

one sad sad doughy-faced girl crying over meeting Bristol who means so much to her……she needs an intervention..

    • johnny says:

She and her husband must really snicker at the rubes after each show. He, never having to work another day in his life; she only having to rearrange the furniture, er phrases in each speech. Yuk Yuk, look at all the suckers. (Like me, even paying attention, lol).

      • Linda says:

Elmer Gantry anyone? There’s a lot of truth in that book. As PT Barnum said, “there’s a sucker born every minute.”

        • mike from iowa says:

I would love to set up exit polls after these events and ask the faithful if they even know why they are forking over hard-earned money to these cretins(for lack of a more colorful word). Maybe, like in the movie Field of Dreams, they just hand over money without even thinking, for its money they have and brains they lack. Pretend there is an attribution in there somewhere.

      • Amyloo says:

Johnny, a commenter at C4P was yucking it up over Iowa farmers. I put this up on my blog but the comment since has been removed. “Poor muckety mucks. You work so hard to get to be even just a muck. Forget muckety muck. Just a muck. And you think, “Well now all these politicians have to lick the butter off my corn cob because I am an Iowa muck. And who does this woman think she is? Sarah freakin’ Palin?!” [Pause]… ‘Really?…THE Sarah Palin? Really? in Pella? you’re shitting me! That’s awesome!1!1! Get my clean overalls!””

    • Kat says:

And the “crowd” didn’t even have to buy tickets. They were given out to the “select.” I’d have loved to see what the empty theater would have looked like if they did actually sell tickets. I know – empty. hee hee.

Magnificent job AKM! You really do take one for us on a regular basis. Thanks!

  82. Tawny Jones says:

Sensational Sarah Palin’s Big News appearance at the premiere of “The Undefeated” in Pella, Iowa totally overshadowed Obama’s photo-op at the aluminum plant and Bachmann’s candidacy announcement. As always, all eyes were on Sarah. Anyone who didn’t understand perfectly her message in her after-show impromptu speech really needs a remedial course in American English.

  83. Buffalogal says:

Ok – Confession time ( but it doesn’t leave this room , right ?? )

*** gulp **** I’m afraid I’m beginning to be able to understand what she’s blathering about . (There. I said it ! )

For the past 2 years I’ve been putting in waaay too many hours watching the Jesus TV channels, hoping to come to figure out what this extreme fringe of Christianity is all about. At first it was like going to a foreign country with very little knowledge of the language and culture. But after awhile, I began to pick up bits and pieces of the jargon. After that, context. And now, I totally get what they’re saying. It’s absolutely completely ignorant crap, but I get what they’re going on about and why it makes sense to them.

So now, after years of absorbing their Jesus=America=Jesus=Money zealotry , along with years of listening and reading Palin spew, I can now understand her language of crazy. I cannot yet speak it fluently but once I can I’m applying for a job as a special agent for George Soros. Code name : LibertyTreePatriotGal4God

    • Leota2 says:

Do you think Rosetta Stone will put out a language program
and will there be a Lonely Planet guide book into their curiously
      disturbing world? I won’t buy them . . . I’m just sayin’.

      • Buffalogal says:

Years ago I saw a very funny play about a scam artist who had set up a class to teach an Esperanto type language that he had made up.

Perhaps there’s money to be made here …..

    • tigerwine says:

“Ok – Confession time ( but it doesn’t leave this room , right ?? )”

Or, as Sarah would say: “What’s said on the fishin’ boat, stays on the fishin’ boat”.

      Our lips are sealed!

      • johnny says:

What an insult to Alaskans who really HAVE spent time on fishing boats. At least she didn’t say (but maybe next time) “What’s said while skinnin’ the moose stays with the moose”

        • Marilyn U says:

Sarah and daddy excel in skinning donkeys (democrats) at least that was his claim (and admoniton to the graduates for the future) in his graduation address to the 2010 graduates of Colony High.

    • Lilybart says:

All great except I might improve the code name: ChartersofLibertyTreePatriotGal4God.

    • daisydem says:

Please tell us it isn’t so. Or will you be a double agent? I am afraid for you.

    • mike from iowa says:

That extreme fringe of christianity is all about poor folks being chided into handing over their hard earned money to a bunch of hucksters who could not care less if they took someone’s last two pennies.

      • Gimme-a-break, Sarah says:

That’s pretty much it in a nutshell

      • yukonbushgrma says:

Speaking of which — did you watch Colbert tonight? His SuperPAC was approved! I’m thinkin’ I should contribute a *very* small amount, with the stipulation that it will NOT be used to further Palin in any way, and it WILL be used to shed the light on any political grifters.

I know he created the SuperPAC to make a statement, but what’s funny is that he was allowed to do it! That was his whole point — the whole system is messed up! (And that’s NOT so funny.)

      • paulabflat says:

i tried several times to go undercover at a couple of those fringe sites. i was always found out, though, and kicked off because i can’t keep it up and started arguments. i admire anyone who makes the attempt and who can hang in there for any length of time.

    • merrycricket says:

Will you wear purple suede boots?

      • Buffalogal says:

        that’s how you’ll know it’s me.

oh, and the red carnation in my lapel. and the Jesus hologram sunglasses.

    • Gimme-a-break, Sarah says:

Buffalogal, you are braver than me! I’ve been reading the websites, but no way can I make myself watch the TV shows… Did that several years ago (just to pick up info) and got so ill I’m still recovering.

But yes, they do have their own lingo, code words, and such. And it’s important for us to know enough to be able to translate. Otherwise, the actual meaning of what people like Batshit Barbie (Michelle) and Trailer Trash Barbie (Scarah) and Mike Huckster-a-bee, et al are saying goes right over our heads.

    • Elizabeth says:

That sacrifice of yours is something more of us should be doing. Somebody needs to be able to translate so we know what these crazies are up to. Seriously, I’m glad you can understand their seeming nonsense.

    • Laura says:

      So what is she saying?

  84. Buffalogal says:

Oh Sarah – You had me at ” our charters of liberty created a blueprint that would allow us towards more perfect of a union if we would just follow this blueprint so people wanting to be involved with the democratic process within a republic – all of you wanting to be involved for the right reasons. ”

She makes me swoon, she does.

    • daisydem says:

Love this comment Buffalogal. Love this post. AKM, if you read this comment, this is a great post …. been a long time since I was served salad at your house and this one was one of the best … though my head hurts a little. Thank you for taking the tossed salad and trying to put it in a bowl. No one can do it better than you. Have to get ready and go to the office so will check in later. Any thoughts, comments, boots on the ground in MN for the book signing?

    • Yeah, someone try to diagram that sentence. I dare you.

  85. Jaybee48 says:

Oh the glamor of a movie première! The red carpet!
The fabulous clothes worn by the stars?
The clothes match the movie – casual, not thought out, cheap . . .

    • overthemoon says:

But Bristol says Bachmann is copying her mom’s style…because she wore a red jacket or something.

(prediction…Bristol is going to provide the final destruction of her mom as she spouts off stuff even stupider than mommy dearest)

      • silverball says:

….that’s what i’m thinking too…as she gains confidence as a “grifter” and realizes how easy it is to fleece and con the sheeple, she’ll cut loose with something very telling or truthful that she shouldn’t have exposed…it’s only a matter of time with these hillbillies….

        • Ndjinn says:

I am thinking she roll over on mom for the Benjamin’s when she sees how much money there is in it.

  86. Leota2 says:

There are no words left to say about Sarah’s mind belch . . . . because she used them ALL and managed to say absolutely nothing.

  87. Amyloo says:

Interesting how she realizes she must spin against the pervasive “all about Sarah” narrative. But do you think repeating “It’s not about me” is going to suddenly change many minds, transform the public perception all the way to Sarah the Selfless?

Jeanne, you saw most of the movie. Was it about “Our founding documents, our charters of liberty created a blueprint that would allow us towards more perfect of a union if we would just follow this blueprint so people wanting to be involved with the democratic process within a republic – all of you wanting to be involved for the right reasons. That’s what this film illustrates.”

  88. OzMud says:

Did someone sell Sarah into slavery when I wasn’t looking? Because honestly I thought we were already free.

  89. Uh, wow. Weird to read but thanks for saving me from watching.

  90. LaniN says:

She is so pathetic. Isn’t there someone to trim her bangs and comb her hair, let alone dress her appropriately? It’s becoming sad to watch her decompensate publicly. She should go home and have a quiet retreat to a happy place where she can receive help.

    • Lilybart says:

But Bristol says everyone copies her mother’s style!

I retired my purple suede boots decades ago.

    • OtterQueen says:

She no longer has the well-compensated stylists she had on the campaign trail, and she’s too cheap and greedy to pay someone of that caliber herself.
