Palin Gets the Aluminum! But Will She “Get Motivated?”

aluminum-can

Trying to get kids to use seat belts can be a daunting task.  Even when mine were small and told me they had seatbelts on, I always used the “trust but verify” rule.  When driving together as a family, we’d have a carload of four.  And one day wefigured out an ingenious solution.  Putting on seat belts became a contest.  When the key was turned, that was the starting gun.  Then whoever was first with the seat belt got the “gold medal.”  Second place was the silver and third was the bronze.  This system worked well, but it always left one person without a medal.  My oldest came up with an idea, when her younger sibling was looking a little pitiful after being number four for several trips.  “You got the aluminum!” she said to him.  Of course, he perked right up and the fourth place “Aluminum Medal” was born.

It’s a good thing for Governor Palin that the aluminum medal exists now, otherwise she’d have gotten squat.  According to the latest Fox News poll this is how the GOP frontrunners stack up among all Americans:

Giuliani 16%, Huckabee 15%, Romney 14%, Palin 9%

Getting the aluminum while Rudy Giuliani stands up on the middle podium?  Now that’s gotta hurt.  But let’s see what just Republicans think:

Huckabee 20%, Romney 18%, Newt Gingrich 14%, Sarah Palin 13%

OK….what about Independents?

Giuliani 19%, Huckabee 16%, Mitt Romney 12%, Sarah Palin 10%

A triple aluminum.

Of course as soon as that pesky “governor” gig is out of the way next November, she can shake off the dust of this town and hit the road on her book tour/presidential campaign.

She’d better watch it though, because the Gold Medal guy is coming to Alaska.  Yes, Rudy Giuliani will be live at the Sullivan Arena on June 9th,  as one of the speakers at the Get Motivated Business Seminar with the likes of Zig Zigler, Steve Forbes, and Robert Schuller.

The audio clip on their website says the seminar was designed

“to gather the world’s greatest leaders and achievers on one platform so that they could impart the inspiration, information, skills and motivation that would empower YOU to fulfill your extraordinary potential.  When the circumstances of life conspire to discourage you, when the challenges seem overwhelming and the obstacles insurmountable, …when your critics write you off as “finished,” your personal motivation is the burning fire that will transform your circumstances, and change your life.  You will be coached and inspired by the most successful people in the world.”  [snip]  “Today you have the power to discover a new future and the opportunity to determine your destiny! “

OK, so (wheels turning in brain) wait a minute now….maybe Sarah Palin will be attending this seminar and Rudy Giuliani can help her overcome the critics who write her off as ‘finished’.  Maybe her competitor will actually be the catalyst who allows her personal motivation to become the burning fire of her destiny!!!  It’s almost diabolical.  And think about it, Rudy Giuliani is a controversial former mayor and failed presidential hopeful.  So in a couple years, Sarah herself might be able to use her failed presidential aspirations as a stepping stone to score a gig with the Get Motivated tour!  Stay tuned.  As they say,

“Get ready!  Your life will never be the same.”

Palin and Prejean, the dream team for 2012. Campaign motto “2 Ps in a Pod”

re Polly @ #4 ‘s link to the Democracy for America – looks like there are three rounds of voting. Keep checking back.

also too, Giuliani and Sarah are so much alike: totally narcisisstic, willing to throw any friends and family under the bus, and altho SP is much younger, they could wear the same dresses. Giuliani was at the bottom of the heap on Sept. 10th – election for the new mayor was scheduled for Sept 11th and NYers couldn’t wait to be rid of him. The leadership vacuum from Gov. Pataki (R) and Pres.Bush (R) created an opening. On the day of the attacks he did present a calm, informed presence. But it was a one shot deal. Calm and informed are not his shtick, neither is it SPs. They’ll be like two screws rattling around a tin cup. As Biden said about Giuliani – a noun, a verb and 9/11. SP has you betcha.

  3. NY Dem says:

She is definitely NOT 7 months pregnant in that photo !

Look at Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano next to her – they are both holding their hands the exact same way, so, if Palin is 7 months pregnant, then so is Napolitano !

here’s the link for the photo. look at the group photo towards bottom of page, she’s in the front row on the left. NOT pregnant!

I’d join the list of voters, but appear to be palinesque stupid… cannot figure out how to cast my vote!

  6. sauerkraut says:

    Palin vs. Prejean, the Movie.

Who will play the respective parts…

Well, Tina Fey plays Sarah Palin.

How about Amy Poehler playing Prejean?

    The perfect SNL skit !!

And the theme song can be that Elton John diddie…

    She’s got plastic boobs, a wolfhair suit…

A winky wink and blinky blink…

    benny and the jets.

I would bet money that Palin’s predatory nature and her need for narcissistic supply will prompt her to invite Miss California to be her guest at the motivational seminar.

I du know. Palin is 45 and Prejeen is young and has plastic boobs and bleached hair, and whatever she had done to her teeth.

Palin heard a lot about how beautiful she is this last year, and she a winker.
But put her next to a young busty blond, and it will be Sarah who? – Oh. Yeah. The middle aged woman in glasses over there. The one in the mini skirt and hooker boots.

  8. Krubozumo Nyankoye says:

Slightly OT perhaps but Geoffry Dunn on Huffpo has a typical article up about Moosilini:

It also has a nice shoutout to Mudflats.

Which kinda makes me think they’ll nominate Palin anyway.

The Repubs just had a big dose of what a mavrick POTUS candidate is like.
Surely they have enough sense to not go there again.

Can you imagine having to listen to her for a whole year or more?
The whole country would need prozac.
I don’t think even Rush could stomach that much of her.

  10. Priceless says:

With Huntman grinding his teeth and cooling his jets in China, I’ll bet our widdle Sarugh runs to the middle, and trys to take out Huntsman. Obama plucked up one of the best and brightest. And instead of playing politics and turning Obama down. He said yes. To phraphrase Huntman, “when the President of the United States calls and askes you to do something, the conversation ends and the obligation begins.” Why can’t more in my GOP be like my now former gov?

I say Sarah gets the alu- ‘minimum’ medal for doing just the bare minimum to get by.

And everybody knows that aluminum should always get ‘recycled’ as well.
    Recycle Palin -2010
    ( Let her melt down)

She’s already in melt down. But Please Please do not recucle Sarah.
Lordy one of her is enough.
And if she hits the lower 48 next year, you know Alaska does not want her comming around again.

  12. GA Peach a/k/a Lance the Boil aka Crust Scramble says:

Congratulations, sarah. Aluminum suits you, it has low density, too.

Looking at these polls, it’s seems obvious that the gop is totally without a national standard bearer. It looks like they are going to continue to tear themselves apart because of their narrow foci. I can’t think of one of them that has the ability to shepherd the party towards a cohesive message. JMO.

  13. curiouser says:

Robert Schuller! Yikes! I bet SP’s church doesn’t even think he’s a christian. I’ll be surprised if she gets anywhere close to that seminar. At least, I’m hoping she’ll stay away. Motivation is the last thing SP needs…she oozes unnatural certainty and misdirected motivation.

She could, however, greatly benefit from a course in self-reflection. If only she would/could take an honest look at her lies and manipulation and then question why God would raise up a liar, in his name, to save the U.S.A. Given the unlikely occurrence of this scenario, how about an intervention? Friends, family, church leaders, GOP leaders? Someone? Anyone?

  14. NY Dem says:

Check out her picture at the National Gov Assoc meeting in DC Feb 23-25 ‘08. She is not pregnant and this was taken 2 months before Trig was born. Liar liar, pants on fire.

Couldn’t find this picture – would love to check it out – is there a link ?

    Thanks !

  15. NY Dem says:

    AKMuckraker now leads 362 – 343 !

Great, but Mudflats must have a LOT more than 362 members – get the vote out the rest of you !

  16. UK Lady says:

If GINO gets the aluminium, will that mean she gets canned? :wicked:

  17. BigPete says:

    You first.

The ‘012 presidential elections are not going to be very auspicious for any Republican candidate, so the younger hopefuls-Pawlenty, Crist, Jindal-are going to be looking for ways to remain visible without running.

The current motley crew of previous losers are rapidly approaching their ‘expiration dates’, and have no choice but to be candidates for the next elections.

Huckabee showed that the enhanced visibility afforded by a failed primary campaign can be financially rewarding, so the aim should be to go through the primaries without actually winning the nomination.

Ironically, the likely loser of this scheme-the Republican presidential candidate-will be the one who has the least financial worries. Mitt Romney.

  18. anon blogger says:

A triple aluminum. LOL Thanks, AKM!

  19. sauerkraut says:

What’s that old saying… oh, right.

    When all else fails, repeat.

Are those names the only people Republicans are willing to consider for high office? I mean, seriously. There’s probably 25,000 people in my town who are better GOP candidates. Except that there’s less than half that many people in my town.

Why is the GOP so eager to trot out the unvictorious? Get some new people up front. Tell those old dogs to sit down already.

  20. ericmiami says:

Palin’s true standing will eventually earn her the “Slag” or “Dross” medal…..
Lee323 said that and it bears repeating. Sad but true. “Sarah Slag” or “Sarah Dross.”

  21. Lainey says:

me vs palin…my day is getting brighter! 🙂 If the Repuke’s can come up with more candidates, then palin moves farther down the list. And since the Repuke’s re-named the Democratic party to the Democrat Socialist party, why can’t their name be different also too?
I never get polled…you probably have to have a big RC (righteous conservative) next to your name!!!

  26. Lee323 says:

Palin’s true standing will eventually earn her the “Slag” or “Dross” medal…..

There is still plenty of work to be done to expose the lie that is Palin, Mudpups.

  27. Lisabeth says:

I am relieved to see Palin doing poorly. I don’t see how her supporters could blame it on that gosh darn liberal media because it’s a Fox poll!
And no offense to any Republicans who read here but what a selection of candidates! yuck!! Huckabee is a nice person but he is way to religious to the right for most Americans. If you do some serious resaech on Guliani, he has an unethical past and he’s not conservative enough for the evangelicals. And Newt? Ugh. He is the past! They really need some bright people with fresh ideas! And they are so divided. Well I am glad Sarah is aluminum but I bet she doesn’t believe it! She thinks she can change her image but so far she makes one bad move after another.

  28. Cathy in Texas says:

I would bet money that Palin’s predatory nature and her need for narcissistic supply will prompt her to invite Miss California to be her guest at the motivational seminar. What better way to get Carrie and “perhaps too” the Donald’s media attention focused on her. Palin is so predictable when it involves drawing attention to herself in the most insignificant of ways.
OK…..enough said……it must be the dreary, rainy weather here that is bringing out the tacky beast in me.

  29. Andree McLeod (R) says:

Lori in Los Angeles Says: Do you think that, despite merit, ethics complaints will forever and always be “frivolous” in the eyes of your State government?
    _____________________________________________________________
No. Although the mouths within my state government trumpet about them being frivolous, the eyes and mind know they are not…
except for the one that Palin filed against herself…
which is the best example of a frivolous complaint anyone has ever seen or heard of…to file one against oneself.

  30. Tom the Bunny says:

I think it’s interesting that this “future of the GOP” is running fourth to this collection of losers, retreads, and empty suits.

I agree Betsy! I checked it out in high resolution.

Unless she is carrying Trig “sideways”, which would be an anatomical first!

A cross eyed “hottie” carrying a sideways baby…. cracks me up………

    She is not prego.

  33. hwmnbn says:

I think Sarah Vain and Simple could use that seminar to think outside the box with her career options. Maybe consider a series of lectures with Miss “look at my boobies” Prejean would be all she’d need to stimulate the wingnut base into a frenzy.

    Palin/Prejean – 2012

  34. Cathy in Texas says:

I wonder if Rudy will be bringing Miss California with him?
” When circumstances conspire to disourage you, when obstacles seem insurmountable, when critics write you off as finished”…….who you gonna call?
How about the expertise and inspiration of Prejean, if not Palin?
Don’t you think they need some “pretty faces” on the stage with them? And…..I doubt that either one of these ladies would have a problem violtating any contracts related to income from other sources such as this seminar. Perhaps too…..the Governor might attend and take notes for her second career.
    Just a thought.

  35. Betsy Drake says:

I think it is a yoke of a joke that SP is writing memoirs. To write memoirs, you need a lifetime of public service. This Twitter wants to cash in while she is still in there by 2010. She will have the moolah and can launch her candidacy for the President of the US. She will have the $$$$ to campaign for 2 years after having stuffed her coffers and support her family. Poor ol Todd doesn’t have to work to support the family. He is hanging out in the gov’s office doing her dirty work. Private citizen not privileged to govt info. SP sent him to DC and the Seafood Deal. The Lt Gov Parnell should have been appointed to attend in her absence. Oh well, lets keep the Palin name out there and still pimp the kids. Let her imploding begin. Can’t wait! I watched excerpts f rom her interviews last year and they were unbelievable. A mental lightweight and scary. Check out her picture at the National Gov Assoc meeting in DC Feb 23-25 ’08. She is not pregnant and this was taken 2 months before Trig was born. Liar liar, pants on fire.

Andree great job keep it up.Makes one wonder if Palin reads here.I am sure either her or someone from her family does. I know Alaska is a red state but there has to better people than Palin that can run the state and the Lt Gov seems like he just follows orders instead of sharing things

  43. Doggonit says:

Funny how “Faux” hasn’t figured out how to use graphs yet.

  44. mlaiuppa says:

Giuliani is the best they can do? Even after he was trounced so soundly by John McCain. Huckleberry, Romney, Gingrich and Palin are also really poor wannabees.

What are they going to do?

    Jindal?

2012 is going to be very entertaining. I pity the poor puppet that will be offered as a token. A sacrificial lamb, sure to lose. But they need a body. Which kinda makes me think they’ll nominate Palin anyway. They know she’ll lose. But they don’t want to damage any viable future candidates. She’s a throwaway.

*getting a bushel basket of popcorn*

  50. Lori in Los Angeles says:

Of course you can Andree! And, while you are here: Do you think that, despite merit, ethics complaints will forever and always be “frivolous” in the eyes of your State government? Do you think that that the Feds, and only the Feds, can clean up the corruption? Because that is what I think. Off topic? Yes and no – if GINO is stopped, she will not even garner that 5% of support – I prefer the day when she is not on ANY list of potential candidates.

  51. Snoskred says:

    I don’t see why not, Andree. 😉

  52. Andree McLeod (R) says:

Maybe she said she’d be in Juneau. snicker… snicker. Just sayin’.
