It’s Alaska Day on the Nicole Sandler Show!
The inimitable Nicole Sandler (formerly with Air America) will be broadcasting live from Netroots Nation from 3-5pm local time. Senate candidate Scott McAdams will be in the house. He came to Las Vegas to network and soak in the great sessions, panels and candidate events. He’ll be on the broadcast, as will Shannyn Moore and/or me! It’s a little mini Alaska reunion.
You can live stream it HERE or listen to the podcast later if you miss it.
It’s been a great day, and Shannyn and I have enjoyed meeting our fellow scholarship winners. We just had a great talk with Jim Dean (brother of Howard Dean and Democracy for America head) about doing some candidate training in Alaska. He got an earful about the great and neverending drama that is Alaskan politics.
And the cookies were awesome.
That was pretty weird. I am remarking on the fact that by accident I found GCI Channel 1. For the 30+ minutes that I had this video on my television I was nearly mesmerized. I called my partner who traveled with me to Point McKenzie the other day, and wondered at the sheer audacity of the video. If I loose this now, I’ll join you all later. nem
This is not to take anything away from NETROOTSNATION. These dog days of summer are classically imbedded in journalism. Remember, nothing happens in late July-thru August.
Today a construction worker lost his life helping to develop Pt McKenzie. Because it is so difficult to get there (Port McKenzie) or should I say “Lu Young Road”, we will never know the actuarial cost of this man’s death. Residents of Anchorage may very well want to know what is going on over there. Perhaps you have summer homes there. Or winter homes?
Perhaps someone can connect me to the planning schedule for that development. I’m just guessing that something was set and protected many years ago and now its time for delivery. (Payback?) Now this is speculation, but I was driving around there the other day and found too many restrictions.
Then, since I have only been here for 20 years I thought it prudent to research. Stand by. nem

I was able to see Brad and Markos with Nicole and it was fascinating. They discussed the banning of folks at Daily Kos for discussion of election tampering. Quite animated and extremely interesting. They also talked about Markos being banned at MSNBC. Markos gave quite a candid summary and overview of that whole situation. They ended up talking about how Right Wing Radio dominates the “airwaves”. The internet and live-streaming seem to be the future for reaching audiences. The last point made by them was the importance of Net Neutrality. It was a very good conversation. I’m sorry the feed “died” and could not see more.
If there is a podcast from Nicole’s show today, I would recommend it based on the part I heard.
I had a loaner while my vehicle was being fixed and the person who had been driving it,a mechanic that went to an auction for vehicles, had the radio set on talk radio and it wasn’t quite as bad as Rush L but close enough.Did not think we had shock jocks around here in my area but I guess we do.Needless to say i turned FM on

Awesome cookies on top of Dr. Dean’s awesome brother, Jim! If I weren’t so busy, I might be jealous. Instead, I’m just proud of you, Shannyn, and all the Netroots Nation, especially you & your fellow scholarship winners.

Democracy Now is going to be broadcasting live from Netroots tonight and tomorrow too!
I really wish I knew how to connect with that. Perhaps I’m behind here, but I would really like to get that broadcast. Support please! Thanx
We just get it on our public radio station, but here’s their web address: http://www.democracynow.org/ It looks like they broadcast on the ‘net, maybe even live?

Nicole is great! She has no illusions about $P and recently interviewed Patrick of Palingates for the second time to get his take on the Bristol Bay Bard’s inventive language, amongst other things.

This is hysterical, Jimmy Kimmel really outdid himself! I liked the fact that she didn’t even know where Alaska was.
That made my day!

How ya liking the heat? Of course, you lucked out as last week was about ten degrees hotter and humid. If you have time, be sure to go to the MGM Grand and see the lions in their habitat. Soooo cool!!!
