Thursdays in the Mud

Tune in today for the post-election “Thursdays in the Mud.”  I’ll be on with Shannyn Moore from 1pm-2pm Alaska time on KUDO 1080am.  You can stream it at kudo1080.com  Shannyn is on every weekday from 11am-2pm.

Also, if you’re looking for something to do tonight, come to the Taproot Cafe at 3300 Spenard Road in Anchorage at 5:30pm.  You can join the fun at the taping of Moore Up North. Guests tonight will be…. (drumroll) Michael Carey, Mr. Whitekeys and Sarah Palin’s former legislative liaison, and Lisa Murkowski’s former campaign manager John Bitney.

It’s sure to be a fascinating panel, as always!

And if you missed it, you can read my post-election wrap-up for The Huffington Post HERE. Feel free to comment here on Mudflats or HuffPo.

I watch Investigation Discovery on a daily basis and I have seen the show advertised to debut November 14, but at those times that horrible person’s show comes on, my television will be on another channel.

  2. Moose Pucky says:

“Her campaign had the effect not of splitting the Republican vote and ushering in a Democrat, but of splitting the “sanity vote” and potentially installing a candidate that the majority of Alaskans view as too extreme.”–AKM

That comment is way too kind. I’d say Joe and Lisa split the corporate vote, not the sanity vote.

The sanity vote was 100% on McAdams.

Palin recently favorited a Tweet from Ann Coulter that included a questionable picture.
@AnnCoulter: MY NEW CHURCH! RT@marclamonthill @AnnCoulter standing in front of pastor manning’s church. Look at this sign! http://yfrog.com/cah1qtj

The sign in the picture reads: “The blood of Jesus against Obama. History made Nov 4 2008. A Taliban Muslim illegally elected President USA: Hussein.”

Someone really needs to call her out on this crap. I’d like to see her try to walk through any number of “hoods” in this country. Those naughty monkeys better be able to make her fly.

The media in America are not doing their job. It is pitiful that they are still promoting this woman as a potential presidential candidate. The rest of the world is looking on aghast. I mean really…America was a country we all took a lead from. No more. It is rapidly becoming a laughing stock.

        • boodog says:

You’re right, the media is only doing part of the job. The actions of the extreme are reported on, but there is no investigation into the people or stories. We seem to hear only the crazy stuff, every day- every hour. Yet it is shown that these people represent only a small part of our population’s values and views. Journalism has succumbed to ratings, bigger headlines – and getting them out faster. They remind me more and more of the paparazzi.

That is true…wrote last night about a friend in Europe. She said she and friends think we are nuts over here….the way we disrespect our President and promoting Sarah Palin.

    • ks sunflower says:

Shame on both Ann and Sarah for spreading such cr*p. Miss Prissy would not stand for anyone denigrating her this way, why should she do it. No class at all. Not much of a Christian either.

    • Millie says:

How can you say ‘our’ – she’s not mine and I want nothing to do w/her!

    • $arah Palin is an unholy P. I. G. hog

Surprise: the first episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaskas which debuts on the 14th is already online. The link from an article about it on HuffPo was working for a while but now gives an error message.

However, here’s the synopsis of the first episode, Mama Grizzley: “Sarah escapes her busy schedule to spend quality time with her youngest daughter, Piper. Together with husband, Todd, they go salmon fishing in bear country. Later, Sarah and Todd climb one of Denali’s most challenging peaks. This is Sarah pushing her limits, exploring Alaska’s amazing adventures.”

That’s the TLC description, folks, not mine. Quality time with Piper? The little girl she drug around the nation as a prop/barrier? Yeah, right. Isn’t the “most challenging peak” referred to the one whose name she got incorrect in an earlier interview?

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/04/sarah-palin-complains_n_779146.html

When the link works, I think I will try and see how far I can bear (sorry) to watch it. The opening shot of mountains is breathtaking, but I will need all the breathe I can get to get through a program with her screech and whining.

BTW, the HuffPo article highlights her and Todd’s whining about McGinness on the first episode. I would say “enjoy,” but it’s not a word I can associate with Sarah until she disappears from the spotlight.

Update: went to the TLC site, the “page” from the article is no longer accessible. Wonder why? You can, however, see short clips from the show. Thanks, but no thanks, TLC.

I want TLC to know that I will not be tuning in to the cable show. Would not want to giver them any ad money credit for showcasing someone like Palin and her dysfunctional family.

    • Bev says:

Time with Piper….what about the other child that has not spent quality time with mom????

I have tried to listen, but since the new stream went up I can no longer access it at work. I have no problem at home listening, has something to do with a 64bit computer, which my computer at home has.

I tried downloading the info required on my work computer, and still I can not listen. So sad, my afternoons are so different not getting my Shannyn fix. =(

    • Renee99503 says:

I’m having the same problem. I really miss the old system. I’ve tried everything I can think of and can’t register, or log on or listen to Shannyn’s show anymore.

    • zyggy says:

I sent an email to Shannyn and let her know we can’t listen. She’s down to 9 listeners now. =)

  6. ks sunflower says:

It will be on podcast later, right?

  7. Writing from Alaska says:

Looks exciting, maybe I will have to have the phone guy come to the house another day!
