    Saw mudpups today, check!

Received a roll of Sarah Palin toilet paper, check!

Install toilet paper in a Capitol Building bathroom, check! Not really, but come to think of it I’m sure it’s been done. Probably more than once. This is the town of dirty politician poo flags.

was just on you-tube listening to some old Evis tunes and the thought crossed my mid what would Ms palin think of this Icon of rock and roll. After all he served his country. The moral majority tried to ban him and his songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3_Q96eJr1k&feature=related. Ricky nelson was my favorite with connie Francis but Elvis had some very good tunes

Since when can someones belief unless it’s devil worship be used to stop 50/50 custody?

PPs Hope this gentleman has support and takes this all the way as far as he can.

I’m on my tiny but mighty island off the other edge of the continent, so I won’t be joining you at the Ball tonight. To all who will be attending, have a fun time, and stay safe (designated driver if you’re drinking!) and warm.

For all of you who don’t get AlterNet in your inbox, please read how a dad has lost joint custody of his children because he’s agnostic (I know, I was shocked, too):

This might have found more readers under the latest piece of AKM’s blog on $owah’s screed, but I respect the spirit of open threads, and posted it here. When I read the latest installment, I’ll direct readers here, if necessary.

    • Martha Unalaska Yard Sign says:

I always read the open thread – it’s where all the good and weird stuff is! And while AKM is plodding through the Twit’s mishmash of wasted ink on previously perfectly good paper, the open thread is the reprieve. It’s the oasis. The sanctuary. The safe house. The tree fort. The bomb shelter.

      • Martha Unalaska Yard Sign says:

Meaning it’s where we come if we can’t read the mishmash (however the red ink is well worth getting Sarah’s poo on your boots), or if we need a break to wash off Sarah’s poo before it sets up.

    • Thank you for that…..that is absolutely disgusting..evil…evil…! God is no part of that madness of Xtian-mania——no part at all.

Thanks for the joke, Aurora, 😉

Spent an hour in Costco yesterday and didn’t see a single copy of SP’s rambles in a cart despite a huge end display. A couple local authors had signing tables set up right there in the book section. Imagine that–no security, no restrictions. I wished them better sales than what’s-her-face.

Here’s my fav Palin joke of the week:

A teacher asked her 4th grade class how many of them were Palin fans. Not really knowing what a Palin fan was, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Johnny . The teacher asked Johnny why he decided to be different…again.

Johnny replied, “Because I’m not a Palin fan.” The teacher asked, “Why aren’t you a fan of Palin?” Johnny said, “Because I’m a Democrat.”

When the teacher asked him why he was a Democrat, Johnny responded, “Well, my Mom’s a Democrat and my Dad ‘s a Democrat, so I’m a Democrat.”

Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, “If your mom were a moron and your dad were an idiot, what would that make you?” Grinning from ear to ear, Johnny replied, “That would make me a Palin fan!”

      Good one!

Today is the day I absolutely have to sew, quilt, and attach the liners to six honking huge baskets. This should be interesting, because I haven’t sewn since I was sick – too many steroids rampaging around in my body made me just not care about seam width, fabric grain, etc. – and they need to be finished and packed up by Monday morning. Should be a fun day to say the least.

I hope those of you who went to the Ball last night had a wonderful time! Congratulations and thank you (again) to Rick Steiner. May people in all states learn from him.

      • jimzmum says:

Argh. The Ball is tonight. I am off a whole day. That explains why yesterday was quite odd.

    • Loved the joke. Thanks I really needed the laughs.

    Ladies and Gentlemen:

Whew, I missed alot not acessing our “Mudflats”. I spent some time this morning and afternoon watching the Mudflats in winter. Slack water, all the sludge. That new bar off Point Waranzoff is catching big boulders of ice. Wednesday I was thru the harbor, thinking that the filming was done and we could drive to the end of the road (wrong). +/- 2pm. Huge high water thru out Ship Creek drainage. I’ve been making that run for years and never seen the ‘Creek’ that high. Someone should relay a photo to the tourist fishermen so they can each understand how incredibly presient salmon are.

I rolled my loose change this afternoon to find out if I had enough to come to the Ball. $25 is pretty steep for me. Last year seems to me the cost was $10. I know this is an important celebration for the “loyal opposition”. I lived in Cordova for some years and I champion Rick Steiner still. He’s right up there with Ricki and Jeannie. How elite should this celebration be? Is this just for those 1% who really need those tax advantages? There are many working people and even unemployed people and seniors on fixed incomes who might want to recognize Rick’s work and the work of the Cook Innlet Keeper, but find the price tag prohibitive.

And then there is the concept of hosting this at the Snow Goose, a site in downtown Anchorage worthy of celebration, but for me has now become tainted with the great unwashed of Joe Miller et.al. Perhaps that’s why I don’t want to join this gathering.

I agree with you AKM, and others, that Miller may be finally opening the window onto the underbelly of why we live with the corrupt bastards club. By now, a month since our election, the significant players know that there is a real threat here. Whether Joe Miller has the wherewithall to really tackle the overall situation or is this really some more flash in the pan, ‘inquiring minds want to know.”

Also, I need to vent that the Municipality of Anchorage needs lots of our attention. Don’t you think that the “Municipality” is a pretentious way to describe a small town in America? Thanx to all who are helping to save the Dimond Library. I don’t know if all of you know that communities are judged by their access to knowledge, i.e. libraries. And before I rest tonite I need to understand why homeless in Anchorage are in such precarious circumstances and the folks who own small aircraft on Lake Hood/Spenard will not have to pay an increased fee for the privelege. Dan Sullivan must go before his idea of being the next governor gets embedded in his or any others mind.
