Lynnrockets, Blast Off and Vote!
(Oops! Double posted this thread… I’ve turned off comments here, but please read and leave comments on the other one.)
Long time Mudflatters will remember the humble beginning of the celestial blogging career of Lynnrockets whose incredible gift for “re-lyricing” songs earned him a special place in the blogosphere. His amazing talents were too big to be confined to the Mudflats comment section, so he blasted off with the love and support of many of you to… HERE.
Nothing makes this blogger happier than when others decide to dip their toes in the pool and try their hand at being the master of their own blogging domain. It’s been a joy to watch Lynnrockets find his voice, and create a space on the web.
Loyal fans will want to go vote for Lynnrockets in an exciting contest! It’s so exciting, he’s actually… outed himself! Here are the details:
Lynnrockets needs your help. Boston’s largest talk radio station (WRKO AM) has chosen Lynnrockets as a finalist in its “Next Great Political Blogger Contest”! Yours truly has been selected by the station’s staff (from over 200 entries) to be one of 10 finalists for a position with the station as a “liberal” blogger. There will be two winners (a “liberal” and a “conservative”) chosen by means of internet votes received. This is our chance to get even with the Palinbots for what they did for Bristol Palin on “Dancing With The Stars”. Like Bristol, I lack talent but with all of you voting for me, I may be able to pull-off an upset win. I offer my eternal gratitude if you loyal Rocketeers will visit the WRKO website (Here) and vote for wait…wait…here comes the spoiler…”Kevin McCarthy”. Looks like I’ve now been officially outed. Please vote early and often as the contest ends on Saturday, December 11th at 11:59pm EST. I would truly appreciate your help and if you really want to be of assistance, please encourage your family and friends to vote also, too!
Please remember to click on the song link below to familiarize yourselves with the tune and to have more fun singing along with today’s topical song parody.
Strangers In The Night song link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDA33hGFNgQ&feature=related
STRANGE ONES ON THE RIGHT
(sung to the Frank Sinatra song “Strangers In The Night”)
Strange ones on the right,
Fox News romancers
Not so very bright,
With our finances
This Tea Party love
Should be viewed as taboo
Palin shouting lies
And fear inciting
Rand Paul is hostile
And so damn frightening
Boehner has no heart
McConnell has no clue
Strange ones on the right,
Abnormal people
They are strange ones on the right
Not one sane moment
They should be in a freak-show
Little do they know
It would just enhance our day
If like Bristol they’d dance away and –
On Fox every night,
They’re all together
Lovers on the right
In love forever
It’s an ugly sight
Those strange ones on the right
(witchcraft break)
Don’t look now just glance away
Here comes their jailbird Tom DeLay
You can join their fight
And hang together
Only if you’re white
Birds of a feather
Taking their last flight
Those strange ones on the right
I see that Lynnrockets has moved up to the second position, yeah, I hope they don’t check ip adresses mine is going to come up like a stalker.
Help, help,Oh please help. I read Mr. Macs blog entries and then voted for him. However, there is no place to confirm my vote. I didn.t see a help button. Any help you can give would sure be appreciated. This guy is funny, Sarah Q, not so much.
ps-a lot of people make fun of SP even though she does a lot of the work herself. Is it possible to collect royalties for every time someone lets the Queen have it broadside, like a patent or trademark? Someone could make a bunch of money in a hurry.
after you check outside his picture there is a button on the bottom of the page it then takes you to another page to confirm, if you have a pop up blocker it might stop the second page from coming up hope this helps
Okay I just voted again on the first page with the pictures go below the last picture there is a button that says confirm vote. When you confirm the vote it takes you to another page that has the button that says vote, after you push that it takes you to a third page.
I love it! Here’s the thing. I can see Frank, Dean, and Sammy lounging against a bar, holding an adult libation, cigarettes at the ready. They are singing this song. Sammy and Dean have those great facial expressions going on that I remember so well, and Frank is right in there with them.
Thank you for a wonderful start to my day. Dum de dum de duuuum, de de de de de, back at you!
Oh, I have asked friends to vote, I have voted, and will continue to try to help.
You have my vote, Kevin, and a big thank you for all the fun you have injected into our politics! Ted Kennedy would be proud!
