KS, if the siren goes off, here’s a song for you to sing as you head to the basement:
Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Wish I could hear the tune. Thanks for the smile.
Darn – we’re under another tornado warning as two systems move our way – not as bad as the ones that moved through Oklahoma tonight, but the second one does have occasional pinky-purple spots amid the dangerous red on Doppler radar so I’d better read quickly because my copy of this book is on my Kindle for PC which is on my huge desktop. No way that’s going to be taken downstairs (it’s an all-in-one, no separate tower). So, hopefully either I can finish the book before the bad system gets near or the system will fizzle out. Wish us luck, please! (Yes, I downloaded photos an my novel-in-progress to a thumb drive, but this book is so absorbing, I’d hate to miss finishing it. I don’t think we’re allowed to transfer the kindle books, dang it.) Just one more point for hard copies of books! 🙂
ks – keep yourself safe.
ks….i think that you can register kindle books to more than one computer. check the amazon site.
also and too there, stay safe
you be careful ks
whatzername is not worth a rat’s patoot and certainly not worth taking chances on getting hurt over.
the good read will be there when all is safe again…
You guys are great. Thanks for the support. All turned out well as regards the weather – well, at least for our area. Sad when it comes down to that, isn’t it? Still, my neighbor and I emailed each other during the storm, keeping ourselves alert so we could warn others who might have slept. Doing little things like that feel good and sure take away any jangled nerves. Temps in the eighties next week – bye, bye Spring – we hardly knew you!
Thank you, everyone, for your comments…!
Frank did well on The Last Word segment on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show. Because of the extended coverage of the tornado outbreaks and Michael Moore extending his segment, I think Frank’s segment was cut a bit short, but still he established himself as a credible, honest person who got snookered into Palin’s camp through her initial charismatic draw, faux Christianity, and that special energy you get when you volunteer for an underdog and start seeing success. I do believe he feels chagrin, embarrassment and even deep regret for his past action during his tenure with Palin.
Of course, my opinion may be tinged by what I am reading in Blind Allegiance. I am just one-third through the book at this point in the evening, but am very impressed with the story, the writing and the revelations. Thanks to Frank, Ken, and of course, our very talented Jeanne. This is an important book.
Frank is coming across as a likeable, credible guy who has gone through the fire to learn his lessons the hard way and is ready to admit his mistakes and give us insight into the myth of Sarah Palin – dispelling the confusion, backing up his claims with evidence and doing so in a way that is not a hatchet job – but a clear-eyed testimony and recollection. Well done.
I am sure the other authors will do a fine job at telling this story and driving home why it is important to the country.
Just bought my copy at my favorite Barnes and Noble and started reading. I have to be some place else tonight, so I could sit and read as long as I wanted. But for starters, I think the forward is brilliant. And the start of the book, the same. Having the information come from someone who, at one time, liked her, the story is even more compelling.
He may be doing real well but those people at faux scream over people and don’t let them get a word in edgewise for the most part.
Are those time listings for Hannity and O’Donnel Alaska Standard Time? I don’t want to miss these interviews!
Bailey on LO tonight, MSNBC. 🙂
Re: Lawrence O’Donnell show, That’s Last Word, which is just starting now on the East Coast.
I hope it’s Last Call for Palin one day soon.
I watched two of the interviews so far, and Frank seems so very real, concerned, humble, and genuine. It will be very hard for anyone to try and bash him in an interview.
I went to Border’s Books today, and the book was already sold out. It was off to Costco where I snagged a copy for $15.
I’ve only read the first couple chapters and it feels vindicating to have someone from her camp admit the truth.
I’m not sure why Frank would submit himself to a piece of garbage like Sean Hannity. Hannity is so smitten with $arah, that he can barely maintain himself when she is on his show. I’m still waiting for the spineless wimp to take up Keith Oberman’s challenge to be water boarded.
Keith said he would pay the charity of Hannity’s choosing one thousand dollars a second that Sean could take it. He wouldn’t even man up for one second despite saying water boarding is not torture.
It’s actually “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.”
I caught him on Martin Bashir’s show and thought he did great! I don’t know if I can stand to watch with Hannity will do to him.
I should have said “try” to do to him. I think he comes across as very authentic but Hannity twists what people say.
Hannity is not credible…and besides, he’s a fool…!
I have only read through the primary victory. As someone who has followed the blogs for a while, I didn’t expect to feel very surprised or informed. Dunn’s book didn’t give me much new, after all.
Frank’s story, on the other hand, is very enlightening. It’s terribly poignant, even sad. There’s a real tragedy unfolding before our eyes. You feel the hope of “doing something great” through the hindsight of “doing nothing great.”
I was a bit disappointed in Dunn’s book too. Perhaps it was because I’ve read so much about Palin – but sometimes got frustrated because someone would get mentioned and we’d have a 3-5 page history on this person and how they got “into the mix”. There were some surprises for me – Sarah was baptized Catholic (OMG) – the relationship with Daddy-dearest (no excuse but makes a person wonder) – and it was a good overall refresher of Palin.
Am now waiting for “Blind Allegiance”…..
Co-authors are exempt from the media tour?
Basically….it’s his story … only that he’s just not very good at writing and stuff?
Mud..
I just read the ‘sample’ that you can down load from Amazon… I gotta ask.. Did you guys get physically ill almost everyday from laughing so hard at these clowns that your insides hurt??? I can barely stand up… This had to be one of highlights of.the last couple of years for you guys… This is great stff…
Wow! You mean political authors actually go on other networks besides FAUX?
I mean, in the old days, yes. Lately it seems that’s not true.
Good for Frank. Let ’em all hear! And good luck with FAUX, just stare them down.
Hannity will not be kind.
Nothing like a blitzkrieg to start the games! Good luck to you all, Frank, Jeanne, and Ken!
