Open Thread – Brian and the Beast

It seems that Zach Roberts (Mudflats NY Bureau Chief and honorary adopted Alaskan) has been going through his old pictures, and came across this gem I’d forgotten about. He titled it “Brian and the Beast.” It’s Brian the Moose at the 9/11 rally in Wasilla last year. He couldn’t resist punking the ex-half-gov. And I have no idea who is holding Brian and assisting him in his naughty little caper… so don’t even bother asking. Who would do such a thing?

I’ll never tell! I did shake the Beasts hand (cold, clammy and bony)… not an experience that I would ever like to repeat. But now when people say nice things about her I can say “Have you met her?” “I have, I shook her hand.”

I’ve been around Bill Clinton – there’s a mystique, a palpable feeling that someone significant is there. Palin doesn’t have it. It’s actually more like an opposite suction – she needs the attention – with Bill – it’s you who needs his.

(Brian immediately gave me some anti-bacterial hand gel though, which he promptly doused himself in)

Go, Brian! Here’s a great article (although you may have steam coming out of your ears when you’re done reading it):

  3. I love seeing Brian in the morning, wherever he is. I won’t spoil it by checking on the book that tries to make SP seem bright and – are you serious- quotable!

Speaking of critters at events, this courtesy of PoliticusUSA.com:

    And ya gotta love this:

    “They chanted:

They got bailed out, we got sold out!

    Scott Walker’s not welcome here!

    What’s disgusting? Union busting!

When I say Recall, you say Walker!

Everywhere we go, people want to know who we are, so we tell them, we are the middle class, the mighty mighty middle class!

    Whose House? Our House!

    Whose Streets? Our Streets!

Who’s got the power? We got the power!”

“Start spreadin’ the news……….” Thanks, NY, from a WI-born one.

New Yorkers seem to have grabbed the fervor of Wisconsinites! Whoa, how’d that happen? YEE-HAW! Keep it comin’.

Has anyone besides me noticed that there’s a striking resemblance, in both physical appearance and arrogance, between Rick Perry and Rod Blagojevich? They both spend far too much time on their coifs and have equally reprehensible attitudes. They also both seem to believe that rules and laws don’t apply to them.

    Yuck, ick, ptooie!!!

Good morning. So nice to be greeted by Brian. He sure does get around! I had a wonderful day off work yesterday. Beautiful blue skies, mowed the lawn then sat in my chair and enjoyed the afternoon quiet. I “blessed” my neighbor with some impatiens yesterday. That should keep her busy for a few.

Good for you! Keep spreading those good flower vibes around and the whole neighborhood will be putty in your hands!

I pruned, weeded, and weed-whacked all day yesterday so now I’m off to the nursery to pick up a few filler plants for the spots that are now empty. I lost a lot of my perennials and six weigela shrubs 🙁 this year because the continuous rain in early spring made my backyard a swamp and drowned a lot of my greenery. Because I was so busy with the end of the school year, I missed out on a lot of the spring perennial sales and can’t afford the expensive gallon size that are being sold now. I guess I’ll just have to fill in with annuals until I can find some cheap perennials in the fall or next spring!

      Enjoy your day!

Over at IM, a couple of people brought up a book written by Matt Lewis. Lewis was on Morning Joe. His appearance had my husband laughing out loud.

Why? Because his book is entitled The Quotable Rogue: The Ideals of Sarah Palin. It was apparently released on June 28th. Isn’t that cute – almost a companion book to The Undefeated.

Well, you know I had to go to amazon to see what was to be seen about it. You simply have to read the Endorsements (not reviews per se – just endorsements) by people such as Tucker Carlson, Andrew Breitbart, Rick Perry and a miscellany of other “wits” representing the GOP/TP. So funny – except I had to think how sad it was for Tucker that he said he learned most of what he knows about American politics from Matt Lewis.

Just to whet your appetite: Matt Lewis said that he regarded Sarah Palin as the most influential woman in the 21st century (let’s see, we’re only 11 years into it yet he can foretell the entire century??).

Here’s where you need to go to get your morning jollies (or head of steam):

oops – should have added that Mr. Lewis’ intent is to set the record straight about what Sarah Palin has actually said – the implication being that the media has made her sound like a nitwit because once you really see or hear what she said, you will agree with him and the endorsers that she is a stellar light full of wisdom for America. Gak! Eeewwww.

Yes, it’s the red hair that’s significant. I wonder who that could be… 😉 Brian invented real teleportation, didn’t you know? It allows him to be anywhere, almost instantly. Bad news for us is that it works only with ungulates, and nothing else.

  9. A fan in CA says:

I see a wisp of red hair. That Brian sure gets around.

Does she ever put the “prop” away? I mean her daughter. My guess is the kid is the brains of the operation.
