It is actually kind of sad to visit the bots main place of residence today. There is so much angst and confusion after the GVS interview. Some are beginning to see the light and are getting quite angry…but not all.

  2. OMG says:

This is great…Nichole Wallace used Palin as the model for her new book’s ‘coo coo for cocoa puffs’ VP character (she actually admitted that on Rachel Maddow). Read an excerpt of the novel here:

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2011/09/28/nicole-wallace-s-new-novel-it-s-classified-excerpt.html

    Sound familiar?

You can catch the Maddow clip here:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/ (comments about Palin–referred to by Steve Schmidt as the VP candidate in 2008–begin during the last quarter of the clip).

    • Irishgirl says:

Oh, it is so about Palin. Thanks for the link. I think I will have to buy that book.

    • That was actually a fun interview to watch. Neither of them pulled any punches about how they feel about Sarah, except I’m sure Sarah will have something to say about them. I’m waiting – she really can’t walk away from a perceived or real insult.

  3. OMG says:

I’m not sure if Palin would find being called a ‘wild card’ a compliment or an insult. But I’m quite sure that most of the country looks at her as a predictable lunatic.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/make-no-mistake-sarah-palin-is-still-a-wild-card/2011/03/28/gIQAr4Kp4K_blog.html

    • aussiegal77 says:

Well she keeps making sure we all remember how much she does NOT play well with others! She’s a rogue, a maverick…..i.e. a wild card….a loose cannon…..unpredictable…..yeah, those are all qualities Presidential candidates look for in their VP picks.

      • leenie17 says:

Yup, that’s just the kind of person I want within ten miles of the infamous ‘football’!

  4. aussiegal77 says:

A great review by The NY Observer of Nick Broomfield’s film “Sarah Palin – You Betcha!”:

    http://www.observer.com/2011/09/northern-exposure-you-betcha/

    • OMG says:

I hope his film is a huge success!

    • LibertyLover says:

Saw him on The Last Word last night… good on him.

    • I saw him last night and really enjoyed hearing him tell how he filmed this movie. I just don’t know if I could sit through anything that actually shows Ms. Palin on the big screen. And think how loud and screechy she would sound in a theater where the volume sometimes hurts my ears.

  5. Bob Benner says:

Having a job is MORE than just a “new raise”… It’s actually just as good as a job created! At least that’s how Obama is counting them. Remember it’s not fair to throw outrageous unemployment numbers at Obama when he should be getting credit for jobs that otherwise would have been lost..

  6. LibertyLover says:

Huff post has a write-up about Sarah Palin and her appearance on Greta VS’s show last night…

According to the book: Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin, Frank Baily, former friend and aide to SP during the short time that she was Governor of Alaska, Sarah once read a book called: “You Don’t Need a Title to Be a Leader” that seems to be dictating her worldview right now.

Apparently Sarah thinks that she will still be relevant to the discussion or helping to establish the direction this country goes in even if she doesn’t enter the race.

From Sarah’s own words to Greta: “…Is a title worth it?” she said, “Does a title shackle a person? Are they — someone like me, maverick, you know, I do go rogue, and I call it like I see it, and I don’t mind stirring it up…. is a title and is a campaign too shackling?…”

Seems pretty transparent if you ask me. But if she doesn’t run, her 15 minutes of fame will be over for good. (Thank Goodness!)

AKM… since you know way more about this subject than I, do you think my hypothesis might be close to being right?

    • John says:

We all need to post on her facebook “heck no you don’t need a title.” “Way to shackling” “Be a maverick and do it your way.”

    • aussiegal77 says:

Palin is so irritating. It’s not a “title”!!! It’s the OFFICE i.e. JOB….of being the PRESIDENT of 300 million Americans! AND…leader of the free world. Is she CRAZY??! Don’t answer that.

OMG. I think she really thinks that being POTUS really is all just a bunch of fancy pageant walkin’.

Like Tina Fey said – running for President is Palin’s Olympics and she plans on getting a lot of silvers!!

      Heaven help us.

  7. mikefromiowa says:

Has anyone taken a look at Ashton Kutcher? I am homlier than nine miles of rough road and even I am prettier than Kutcher, and he is supposed to be a model. What gives. Sheesh.

I wish everyone at The Mudflats, and all the peoples and creatures of the earth, a happy, healthy, joyful, peaceful, prosperous, loving New Year.

    Tikkun olam.
    Shalom.

And it’s a great reason to eat apples and honey. Yum.

  10. mikefromiowa says:

Right Wing dingbat and fauxknee patriot-Senate-whore Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is calling for war with Pakistan. I guess three wars aren’t enough to satisfy rwnj bloodlust, especially when their families are not at risk in these conflicts.

  11. bubbles says:

alrighty now! things may be looking up. NYPD used pepper spray on some young women and knocked others down and cuffed them. wonder what they gonna do with these folks.

go ahead NYPD and Bloomberg i dares youse.

  12. Mo says:

OK, who else has put this on their must-read list? Found via Rortybomb:

    http://rortybomb.wordpress.com/2011/09/27/guest-post-the-deep-roots-of-conservative-radicalism/#more-10131

“I’m still absorbing Robin’s provocative thesis — that conservatism is, and always has been, “a meditation on — and theoretical rendition of — the felt experience of having power, seeing it threatened, and trying to win it back.”

Doesn’t that say a lot about all the middle- and upper middle-class Republicans who thought they were in the catbird seat during the Reagan and Bush regimes, just because they voted for those in power? Even as those administrations ground them into the dirt? Hence the insane hysteria now – feeling threatened because they feel they’ve lost power. With added racism sauce.

  13. Ndjinn says:

Malcom X (paraphrase) the news papers will have you hating the poor and admiring the rich corporations that feed on them.

  14. OMG says:

All I can say is ARGH! It’s been a long time since I subjected myself to listening to Sarah Palin and it may take some time to recover from watching this clip. So many words…so many tired rehashed talking points fall out of her mouth but she doesn’t say anything. Greta seems a little disgusted as well.

    http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/2011/09/q-2.html

    • Mo says:

Tnx for the pointer, OMG – sometime I forget to go read Andrew Sullivan, and today he’s nailed it, twice:

      1) “Mrs. Palin” – not Gov, ex-Gov, VP candidate.

      2) The distinction between a title and an office – she really does think they’re the same, and can’t deal with the fact the the latter involves actual work, not just being pretty.

    • aussiegal77 says:

I refuse to listen to her ever again. Sullivan has her number, always have.

  15. OMG says:

The Republican party proves its racism…again:

    http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2011/09/26/125344/muslim-denied-spot-with-florida.html#ixzz1ZGHKgGB6

Add these outbursts to those heard at republican debates and you get a true picture of the current GOP.

    • OMG says:

A party Palin is proud of….

    • Ugh, the article and the comments make me ill. The thing I don’t understand is why this man continues to be a republican. If I were treated the way he was by any organization, I would run as far as I could to get away from them. And I would have nothing nice to say about them or any of their group.

      • John says:

Wow. Those so called republicans are the true terrorists. Lynch mob mentality and no respect for the values of the USA. I bet some of them even claim to be Christians.

      • leenie17 says:

I wonder that about any Republicans who are not rich, white men.

How could you belong to and support a party which finds you worth less than the rich white man sitting next to you?

  16. John says:

Unfortunately, I have heard that sentiment expressed when listening to Assembly Members complain about union contracts.

  17. merrycricket says:

Good morning all. I have two days off in a row! I hope the sun comes out for a bit of it, so I can sit in my garden/outdoor living room.

TCW I am wishing you a peaceful new year.

“see what your greed for money has done ?”

    • I thought I’d heard nearly every folk song out there, but I’ve never heard that one. The only problem I have is that I hate listening to Dylan. He wrote great songs, as did Woody Guthrie, but I’ve always found their voices and style grating. I like it best when other people sing their songs – much better.

  19. Man_from_Unk says:

So much money is wasted on incompetent people working in important jobs these days. The University of Alaska needs to look into their ‘Masters in Rural Development program’. Quite a few people with that degree and no ‘rural development’ going on. Dead wood all over the place.

    • hockeynana says:

Sadly, I think this is the case in every state, Man from Unk.

    • UgaVic says:

Oh so agree. We seem LOTS of it out in our part of AK too. Too many have too high opinion of what they are worth versus what they contribute!!

    Sad, but true.

  22. CityKid says:

Worth noting that that at least for tonight the Anchorage Daily News has dropped its long standing news about Sarah Palin (featuring her mug too) from its websites main page. Geez, I wonder why?
