Sarah Palin Will Not Seek the GOP Nomination in 2012 – Country Comes Third

Sarah Palin will not run for president. Here is her letter to supporters:

October 5, 2011 Wasilla, Alaska

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order. My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law. From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it. I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs. Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation. In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House. Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country! God bless America. – Sarah Palin

Now, of course, she says she won’t seek the GOP nomination, or a third party run… but those who hold out a shred of hope choose to believe a viable third party run is still possible.  We’d have to assume that somehow this would reorder her priorities, which she was very clear about.

Sarah Palin: Country Third.

Here is the breaking announcement from Mark Levin.

When the citizens of Alaska and USA tap her for monies she stole she will be lucky to work at Wendys

  2. AKLAWDOG says:

Well IF she is rumored to want an Energy position it is to help England keep the oil stocks in Alaska..
Problem with all that is the BIRTHRIGHT that Hollis French spoke of means the stock belongs to someone else…lets see it was worth 108.401,500 billion dollars in 1989….what it is worth now is about 4.9 trillion dollars now…that is why so many steps taken to kill the owner and/or name calling or agency harrassements or the State of Alaska not doing it’s job…well the federallies are in synch and on it like stink on shit and will expose the ‘ rebel rousers ‘ tax the shit out of the account and return it to it’s BIRTHRIGHT owner…hu Palin…hows that working out for ya baby…lol..lol..lol..lol….all the way to federal court baby girl…pass it on…

This animated cartoon says it all:

  4. MO Inkslinger says:

It is my understanding that AK has no state income tax. However, Sarah has been flying around the lower 48 for two years picking up $100,000 speaker’s fee. Those speaker’s fee are subject to state income tax in the states which have a state income tax. I was hoping she was running because she might have to release her tax returns. I bet, the quitter owes state income taxes all over the Lower 48. Maybe someone here works for a state income tax division and can give us some light on this subject.

  5. Man_from_Unk says:

I’m so relieved. Hopefully now no Presidential candidate will have her for a VP running mate.

  6. Gallagher says:

    Oh my gosh…

Who could have foreseen this? 🙂

  7. beth says:

Interestingly enough, the last Tweet the Twit made prior to Twitting a link to her No-Run announcement was:
    ““““
    SarahPalinUSA Sarah Palin
Here’s Todd’s interview with Steve Bannon. DVDs for Steve’s film “The Undefeated” go on sale tomorrow at Walmart. http://fb.me/X4dyYyTF
    3 Oct

[NOTE: Tawd’s interview link was Tweeted by her weeks ago…this is a re-Tweet by her]
    ““““
How strange is her mind — she is determined that she is *not* [nor has she ever been] defeated in anything! and she is convinced everyone is ‘out to get her’, making her a [perpetual] victim of hate aimed directly at her undefeated self.

What I find utterly fascinating is: Here is a woman who fought tooth and nail and ugly –not necessarily in that order– to become VP of the US {AKA a heartbeat away from the Presidency}, and yet she is so insecure, she can’t even defend herself from attacks…either perceived or real. She has Tawd speak for her. Somehow, in her mind, there was/is no conflict between what is required of a POTUS (mentally and emotionally: personal strength and decisiveness) and what she possesses (not that.) Psych professors should have field day with her for decades and decades to come — they couldn’t have asked for a better case study in multiple mental disorders.

I don’t think I’m going our on a limb, here, when I say: I do believe her world is painfully crumbling around her. beth.

  8. Zyxomma says:

This was in my inbox from God’s Own Party, following a copy of the announcement:

“We are seeing desperate plays unfolding as all of us sit back and watch how this GOP field is playing out. Yesterday it was Chris Christie, today it is Sarah Palin.

Don’t take your eye off what is really important now that some of the celebrity watch will be off the election – and that is political Christianity in conservative politics.

This is like watching a production with a surprise ending and we need to all stay tuned.”

  9. Fairbanks_Rick says:

Maybe she’ll move to Arizona and then we can again hold our heads high when we say we’re Alaskans. 🙂

    • Martha Unalaska Yard Sign says:

Don’t ever let that slimy Twit affect your love for your home or your self esteem. We had nothing to do with her little spree to take over the world. And SHE has nothing to do with Alaska or Alaskans except to have an address here – she represents us or our state in absolutely no way.

  10. Aphra Behn says:

The violence of the Arizona attack pierced the tissue-thin layer of the suitability of Sarah Palin for much of anything. At that moment, she began to deflate, to move into the margins, to shrink. Her voice became less important, and it became easier to ignore her.

  11. silverball says:

…her statement just proves she doen’t understand the constitution and the concept of separation of church and state…..i’m not sure if we should be thanking her…or having a HUGE sigh of relief…uh oh…the comedians are going to be pissed……

    • Martha Unalaska Yard Sign says:

Oh I doubt that! In her unshackled state, she’s goin’ Rogue again!

  12. Ndjinn says:

Steve did not die in vain; I didnt hear about $arah. (a little gallows humor), I own all Apple stuff for home and work.

  13. Ky says:

Could the timing of this announcement have anything to do with the book release next week? ya think? please don’t tell me she made to the Land of Oz and got in to see the Wizard to get a brain.

  14. JudyChicago says:

Sarah “Kardashian” (famous for doing nothing) Palin has given me years of laughter. So I’m going to send her a thank you. I’m assuming if I just address it to her, in Wasilla it’ll be delivered.

Actually she’s been the political joke of this nation yet she parades around in her tight sweaters and lipstick actin’ so important like she actually is somebuddy special. Doggone it, I’m gonna miss this hussy stealin’ all the headlines from actual news and blabbering her incoherent speeches of nonsense.

I have also enjoyed seeing the press running behind her like she were a dog in heat. Really classy.

  15. Really? says:

I’m glad she said she’s not running. She can be full of it at times, we’ll see.

  16. Dagian says:

She figured out that she would HAVE TO report her finances and that was the wooden stake through her heart.

Public disclosure? Bah. That’s for the ‘little people’, not $arah Palin!

Not to mention anybody who refers to the OFFICE of President as simply a ‘title’ is somebody who hasn’t stopped polishing her little beauty pageant crowns lately…

    It’s a job, sweetie; not a ‘title’.

  17. jimzmum says:

I went over to C4P and read some of that claptrap. I couldn’t read all of it this morning, because I must finish packing away Mother’s home. But, I was astounded that so many people there think this happened because Mayor Palin felt her family was threatened and/or Trig was ill. Since when has that horrid woman given a fig about her family?

    • Martha Unalaska Yard Sign says:

That’s what poor, deluded minds do who are snared by the cult, and its queen snake. Most of them will never recover.

    • Zyxomma says:

Since NEVER. Blessings on you as you pack away Miss Suzie’s home.

  18. Polarbear says:

Now, hopefully, come the lawsuits from burned donators claiming fraud.

    • AKLAWDOG says:

Class action lawsuit is being talked about…gathering of Alaskans who have been ” targeted ” by the Palin crew…and the police and Sean Parnell ignoring it…so heads up and down with the sickness..
Palins sickness that is…and some have spoke of mental health issues…ya think??lol..

  19. OMG says:

    Great comment:

David Biespiel American poet, director, Attic Institute :

“Got to giver her credit. She spent more time fueling speculation about running for president than she did actually serving as governor of Alaska.”

  20. Madeline says:

The C4Pers are all pissed off at Fox “news” as well, maybe she will take them down with her!

RIP Steve Jobs, the new Apple store in Anchorage is amazing, totally unlike any other store of it’s kind.

  21. Martha Unalaska Yard Sign says:

The next round of beverages of choice is on me! YAY! Now, good luck finding me to collect on that free drink offer – I have a life I kind of forgot about and it’s beckoning me…

Her monkeys are renewing by gasps their culty vows – I guess they like the long pull of the bandaid instead of the quick one – true to form, and their object of desire, they aren’t very smart.

Hurray to Jeanne, Linda, Shannyn and all the others who have contributed irretrievable hours from their lives to spread the seeds of light and doubt. I adore you all!

  22. Chaim says:

Thank you, AKM! Thank you, Alaska bloggers! Now, Texans, it’s your turn — please help save America from the biggest jackass from the second biggest state!

When Colbert signed off from his Wednesday night show, he wordlessly placed an iPhone on the desk in front of him; as it stood there, he cupped his hands on its either side. It took me a moment or two to comprehend what an eloquent and dignified tribute he was silently paying to Steve Jobs. Both men: Real class acts. beth.

  24. Martha says:

In as much as; “Wallace has dismissed Palin’s book, referring to it as “based on fabrication” and “a bizarre fixation on things that everyone else has moved on from.”…Wallace’s comment “There certainly were discussions — not for long because of the arc the campaign took — but certainly there were discussions about whether, ~~~if they were to win, it would be appropriate for her to be sworn in.~~~” sounds exactly like a cat in a litter box to me.

I think her book is a projection of just what would have happened if McCaIn/Palin HAD won.

A nightmare, no thanks to Nicole Wallace, or anyone else on McCains team, that fortunately did not come true.:

Nicole Wallace: Sarah Palin Inspired Mentally Ill VP Character In New Book

A former McCain campaign adviser has some choice words for Sarah Palin.

Nicolle Wallace, who was also an aide for George W. Bush, told Time that Palin inspired the mentally-ill vice-presidential character in her new novel, “It’s Classified”.

Palin vacillated between extraordinary highs on the campaign stage — she ignited more enthusiasm than our side had seen at any other point — to debilitating lows.

She was often withdrawn, uncommunicative and incapable of performing even the most basic tasks required of her job as McCain’s running mate.

The decision to relocate debate prep from the campaign trail, which is where McCain did his prep, to Sedona, was to isolate her and help her overcome the shock of becoming an overnight celebrity.

There certainly were discussions — not for long because of the arc the campaign took — but certainly there were discussions about whether, ~~~if they were to win, it would be appropriate for her to be sworn in.~~~

  25. Martha says:

Shirley Palin is not running for the nomination for POTUS, because Herbie (or Herb) Cain is just too tough a candidate to go up against.

Rumor has it that she is coming apart at the seams, foiled for a third time, by yet another African American.

They say Shirley has thrown away her flute and fancy pageant waling shoes , she has immediately enrolled in accordion lessons, yodelling classes and has joined in daughter Piper’s home schooling arrangement, to broaden her horizons.

  26. frsbdg says:

The mark of a true master con artist is that even when the con is revealed, the marks refuse to believe it. The diehard pee bots just refuse to believe the obvious – she’s laughing all the way to the bank with their money.

  27. Baker's Dozen says:

So Ailes admits that he hired her simply as a high-priced political poll dancer! 🙂

  28. AKPetMom says:

    RIP Steve Jobs.

In various employment environments I’ve sometimes been forced to use computers that were not Macs, but I could always come home to a virus-free world where everything was good. Now I’m lucky enough to work on Macs at my job and at home.

“An Apple a day keeps the McAfee away”.

He truly had a vision and I’m so happy that he showed us a better way.

I hope that his vision lives on in the Apple community long after he has left the helm.

good work everyone . hope I was a small part this day . keep your eyes open . the fat lady is not singing yet

  30. Moose Pucky says:

“…candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources…”

Suppose that will help with their industrial campaign contributions…

Do you think her definition of “free markets” includes no subsidies for oil and gas companies???

  31. StElias says:

Well, for the most part, the average reaction here in Central Alaska regarding the Palin no-run announcement is indignation and “Who Gives a S–t” responses. In addition, other comment is: “Why the Surprise?”, since we all knew/guessed that she was out as a real candidate months back.

But why indignation?: Answer: The real news here right now is the revelation that the (many) native corporations are even more corrupt than most of us thought, the news yesterday of the shackled arrest of four conspirators down in Virginia for allegedly stealing 20 million (greatest procurement bribery fraud ever, federal prosecutors say) and conspiring to steal a significant part of another 780,000,000. of taxpayer dough, using native privileges for no bid contracts, is real scary. Our local news media, print/electronic, didn’t really touch it last night and are not doing much better today, even though this news is being blasted over many major newspapers in the lower 49.

Also, the sad news over Steve Jobs passing deserves much more consideration.

    So, Sarah, Sarah, who??

  32. dowl says:

THANK YOU AKM for all the hard work that you (and other AK bloggers) have done re SWWNBN on behalf of America and beyond.

AKM, I personally appreciate your individual effort, heartache, and pain caused to you and your family while exposing to the public her unfitness for elected authority.

Stay strong ‘flatters, 2016 shenanigans for Mrs. Todd Palin will begin–ACK!

  35. Sourdough Mullet says:

From Huffington Post, June 28, 2011:

Bristol Palin said during an appearance on Tuesday’s edition of “Fox & Friends” that her mother “definitely knows” whether or not she will run for president of the United State in the next election cycle.

“We’ve talked about it before,” said the 20-year-old daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. “Some things just need to stay in the family.”

For all the Palin supporters who were somehow still taking the bait, or worse – who responded to her recent “Plea for donations to help Sarah decide whether she will run or not”, here’s your sign.

As someone at IM so eloquently put it:

She was never REALLY going to take you upstairs. She just wanted you to pay for dinner.

  36. OMG says:

Frum has one of the best take-downs I’ve read:

“In the end, she exploited, abused, or embarrassed almost everyone who had believed in her. Most embarrassing of all: she was never even a very good con artist. Everything that was false and petty and unqualified in her was visible within minutes of hearing her speak. The people she fooled were people who passionately wished to be fooled. To that extent, what was important in her story was not the faults and failings of Sarah Palin. There have always been grifters in politics. What was important in her story was the revelation of conservatism’s lack of antibodies against somebody with the faults and failings of Sarah Palin. That’s the story that should trouble us still.”

Great comment! Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

    • AKMuckraker says:

And that was the point and moral of Blind Allegiance, and the relevance of Frank Bailey’s story. Great comment from Frum.

      • Lee323 says:

The only book about Palin that I ever bought was “Blind Allegiance,” primarily because I wanted to give support to the incredible work you have done over these last several years on Mudflats. I must admit, however, that I could only read about half the book–not because it wasn’t well written, but because reading about Palin’s machinations disgusted me.

Keep up the good work with your stellar intellect and passion for truth, AKM. I have no doubt that Palin’s political demise was in good measure brought about by your and other writers’ persistence in exposing this shallow fraud of a politician. It’s abundantly clear that the mainstream media never had the essential integrity to do it…

    • Frum is really good, isn’t he. I just wonder if there are still any conservatives reading what he has to say or if they have written him off. I hope not.

    • Blooper says:

Yup. We may be (mostly) rid of $P but the system the Republicans have set up almost makes another $P (or GWB) a certainty. That’s why we can’t let up our guard too much and sites like this will continue to be extremely important in informing us of potential new dangers.

  37. LibertyLover says:

She wants the attention w/o the work. She wants to be a star w/o having to work too hard to get it. I’m sure that she will get her $100 K speaking fee for awhile. And she still has her Fox contract for awhile. Ailes said he hired her for her looks. But who knows how long it will last now that she’s not running?

  38. LibertyLover says:

I will third that. Mudflats was the first place I found in all this craziness. Thanks Jeanne Devon (AKM) for your wonderful writing and your part in pulling back the curtain on Ms. Palin for the rest of the world to see. You were one of the first and I thank you for all you have done. I hope you have a book of your own coming out in the near future that will be YOUR story and I would look forward to reading it. Cheers to you (clink!). 🙂

P.S. I love your writing and you really should write something from your own perspective. I know it would be great.

I spend a goodly amount of time on Yahoo News and yesterday the joint was crawling with gripes of how Onie hung out with Rev.Wright and Bill Ayers and the lamestream media didn’t cover those stories at all. 43. pacos_gal says:

She quit on the baggers and c4pee. Poetic justice. And Roger Ailes said he only hired her because she was good for ratings. ROFLMAO!

  44. ks sunflower says:

Rachel Maddow did bring up the possibility that Sarah might try for a third party run. Apparently, some bots at C4P are thinking the same because a hall has been hired for her this Friday. Who knows?

Also – I am concerned, watching the Ed Shultz coverage of the Wall St. protests that many of those gathered in the crowd behind him are very anti-Obama. Hopefully, these folks will not vote. If they think the GOP will save them from Wall St., boy, are they ever wrong-headed. I hope none of these young folks will go over to the Tea Party – because it was underwritten by corporations, mostly Koch Bros. Maybe by watching the coverage of their event, they will learn something.

Gosh, cannot relax yet. We must keep our energy up for November 2012. I hope President Obama can capture this movement and fight for what the changes being sought.

    • Simple Mind says:

Palin was asked specifically about a third party try, and she said, “So the consideration for a third party is not there, no.” The meaning of that is …… well, your guess is as good as mine. Actually, a third party bid would just bleed votes from the Republicans and greatly enhance the Democrats’ chances, so let’s hope that she does it.

    • Zyxomma says:

I was at the protest yesterday. Many, many of the signs deployed by the attendees were anti-Koch, including Koch (in the script used for the Coke logo) The Cause of a Doomed Generation. No, the protestors are not stupid enough to vote R or TP. I just hope they don’t sit out the election.

someone will be paying me back with interests. how much was it…like Levi said ” its huge ” and when Sarah’s sister can have a gas station on property owned by ” birthright ” as Hollis French coined…
too many officials are aware of Taliban Todds attempt to take me out of the picture…I just want my money back…sell all the stuff you bought with it now…and I will just file paperwork to take your royalty checks from now on Sarah Palin..get ready to rumble…and the State of Alaska is tired of you too…
Captian Zero cannot protect you anymore…and paperwork sitting in DC is being reviewed by the Office of the President now…they got real interested in why no one paid taxes on a HUGE trust fund…
Yes Sarah lets attempt to explain that and all that money for being a ” poor school teacher” lol..

    • AKLAWDOG says:

yeah I am aware of the PETICULAR situation you speak of…I represent a group of folks who has money, power and political clout globally…so it is in the works kiddos…hang in there…be patient..

finally home from work…what joyous news !! chortle… who’s gonna pay her lawyer fees now ??? State of Alaska ? She’d have to turn in receipts.. and we’ve already seen how she handles a paper trail! Methinks there will be some property for sale in Wasilla soon…. any idea how many ethics complaints are still in process ???

Ahhhhhh!! but I’m gonna miss the talent section of the debates, I really wanted to see if she could still play the flute, after tooting her own horn for so long ! ( it’s a g-rated blog…….. 🙂 )

  48. bob says:

And Fox News Hired Sarah Palin For Her Tits LOL

  49. DonnaInMichigan says:

Don’t count her out yet. She may not be wanting the job of POTUS, but make no mistake about it, she will run again for office. Probably either for a US senate or congress seat.

She knows she would never win a national election. But there is a chance she can still win locally….either in Alaska, or become a carpetbagger in Arizona.

    • LibertyLover says:

As a resident of Arizona, although we are a very conservative State, she MIGHT could win a Congress seat, but even that is doubtful.

No way would she win a Senate Seat.

Please don’t wish that on us. She isn’t interested in Governing. She wants to be a TV star.

    • slipstream says:

Think she will run against Murkowski? Her boy Joe didn’t do so well . . . .

      • Kate says:

Many of the ‘bots think that is what she is going to do because Alaska has allegedly “fallen apart without Sarah-corruption is rampant again” and because that is “where her heart is, she’ll clean up Alaska-AGAIN, then take care of the country”. Despite repeated polls indicating she’s not wanted in Alaska, or anywhere else for that matter, they believe that “good Alaskans” want her back at the helm, leading the state!

Just typing the above is nauseating, realizing that some of them believe this to be absolute truth along with the notion that “Obama is threatening her” and that “Sarah knows about all those mysterious deaths surrounding him before and after his Senate and Presidential campaigns”!! Where do they get this freakin’ crap from??

    • CO almost native says:

Or Ambassador to Russia… after all, she can see them from her house.

    • Thisby says:

Umm.. I don’t think she has a prayer in Arizona, to be honest. Not because we don’t have our share of nuts here, but because the AZ Republican machine is so intrenched, and so inbred, that they won’t welcome any carpetbagger from Alaska, not even dear Sarah. Those good old boys will kick her seven ways from Sunday. If nothing else, we buy our politicians locally!

    • Alaska Pi says:

      Donna-
She can’t win anything of importance in Alaska . The ( now multiple ) quitter routine thingy has soured too many folks who might otherwise ignore much of her BS in favor of her exceptionalism patter.
      Arizona is forewarned.
It’s wise to keep half an eye on her but there is so much else that is more important going on which needs attention locally, regionally, and nationally.
Maybe we could all divvy up whatzername watching times and leave most of us free to work on solutions to the messes we’re in.
She’s a distraction at this point.

  50. Lee323 says:

Andrew Sullivan on Palin’s decision today:

“I was at the gym when the news (Palin’s decision) broke, hence the late post. And, of course, the news was juxtaposed by the untimely death of Steve Jobs. Leonard Cohen once said of America that it was “the cradle of the best and the worst”. Today, we lost one of the very best in American history, a reticent genius and entrepreneur, an inspiration for countless of us who has changed the very fabric of our lives. And we also saw the end of the road for one of the very worst: a nasty, callow, delusional, vicious know-nothing, brewed in resentment, and whose accomplishments could fit on a postage stamp.

It’s a fitting comparison: achievement versus resentment, creativity versus narcissism, hope versus fear. I know which one will get the bigger headlines tomorrow. And there is some comfort in knowing it will pain her.”

    http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/2011/10/rejoice-.html

    A fitting comparison, indeed.

I missed much of this until I got home a few minutes ago. I agree with Andrew that the news media has much more to cover with the loss of Steve Jobs today than with the quitter’s announcement. It reminds me of all the times that she’s tried to rain on someone else’s parade just to grab some unwarranted attention herself. She picked a RILLY bad day to grab a few headlines.

This is some big-time Karma coming down on her tonight.

      And, I’m loving it.

    • CO almost native says:

I agree. Thanks, Andrew, for your accurate and eloquent words.

Steve Jobs passed away and that is indeed a tragic loss, but one totally unexpected impact was the almost complete and utter silencing of Sarah’s Big News.

We have a lot to be grateful to Steve Jobs for – his genius transformed our world in so many ways from ease of communicating, learning, and entertaining ourselves to transforming how citizens revolt against tyrants and tyrannical policies.

Now, we have him to thank for taking away Sarah’s one last moment of celebrity news. I was watching to see how Lawrence O’Donnell handled her announcement but the entire program has been transformed, justifiably, into a tribute to Steve Jobs.

Poor Sarah – a whimper as she leaves the national stage. She might try to fester up now and again, but she’s burned so many bridges, thrown so many people under her traveling snake oil bus, and done so little to positively affect anyone’s life, that I doubt anyone will be eager to hear from her any more. Here’s hoping Faux News lets her go now.

Thank you Steve Jobs for so many things. I never would have expected to thank you for this, but your passing has taken the national focus from she-who-may-never-be-important-again. Blessings be with you on your new adventure and blessings be with those you leave behind.

I’ve never been a big fan of Apple products, but I will be the first to admit that Steve Jobs helped transform the world with his innovation and his imagination. The success of his company helped propel many companies into the race to develop new and better technology.

The world will be a poorer place without his amazing vision. RIP.

I just wish he had kept jobs in the US. My husband is an Apple fan so I’m typing this on our Apple computer and we took our I-Pad with us on our recent vacation in France. I loved being able to read Alaskan blogs while looking out over the Mediterranean with palm trees in between.

I’m word processing on a Mac. I watch movies on my Mac. I was at the Apple store this morning for a 2 hour lesson with an amazingly helpful and knowledgeable specialist. The most important thing he gave the world was a new vision of what a company should be like and who the competition is.

Here’s a great article about him. I suggested at work that we look at adopting the company’s view of success and innovation. All I got were crickets. And my notice.

Ah, well, that frees me for bigger and better things.

Job’s innovation was to be admired – the guy pushed the envelope. I thank Apple for my ipods, classic and touch every day.

    • ks sunflower, you always manage to say what I am thinking. Thanks. Maybe it’s the Kansas connection.

KS,I’m glad someone brought up the Passing of Steve Jobs because it opens a new window that nutters can exploit for political gain. They can heap more lavish tax cuts on the wealthy, even deceased ones, and call it their “Jobs” bill that they can’t seem to write to help the unemployed, you remember, the ones twnj exploited in the last election and have fought against since they won that election. I see it as a win/win for them. I do not mean to imply that Steve Jobs passing is trivial, only that if their are political points to be made because of it,we know who will use it.

I usually try not to repost from other sites (especially sea o’ pee) but this comment is pretty representative of the bots’ general mood & sentiments:

“Well, that was fun while it lasted. I guess God does not think that America deserves to be saved. Sarah is such a disappointment. All these people who gave money, (one guy here bought 100 DVD – I feel so sorry for him) – who put their jobs and life on hold to go fight for her on the ground – get ridiculed but did not care because that was the right fight to promote Sarah to save America.

The main stream media won – the gop won. And Sarah is not the iron lady I thought she was so she gave up and lost her guts. Well, can we say she quits?

Have a good life you all. I will NOT vote in 2012. Obama or Romney or even Cain who knows nothing about policies and…affirmative action that he was for – no more – I don’t see much difference anyway so I am done with politics. Good thing though..that was taking so much of my time, lost so many clients and friends by fighting for her. OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Or, a little last hope – does she means she will run as independant or TP? I keep that last hope until we are sure.

Stunning that C4P has not announced yet… “

    • Wow, that’s just . . . pathetic.

On the other hand, wouldn’t it be great if all Sarah’s followers decided to swear off politics, not support anyone and not vote? Maybe we could get back to some sort of sane discourse in this country.

Well, maybe not. We still have all those nutty repubs who are running.

      • Blooper says:

Yep, it would be fine by me of the bots sat out 2012. While I usually shake my head when I see someone willingly forfeit their vote (for whatever reason) in this case I really won’t miss their presence at the polls.

My thanks to each and every Alaskan blogger who stayed on her case for these last three years and to everyone who has researched and written articles and books and done documentaries on the sleaze that Sarah Palin exudes, the lives she has ruined, and the lies she has told.

Thank you each and everyone – and thanks to all us who have supported the bloggers, the authors, the filmmakers and each other. One of the greatest threats to our nation is now diminished. Let us hope this is the beginning of the end of her influence, though we should always stay vigilant.

Anybody remember “You won’t have Richard Nixon to kick around anymore” ??

I still worry about her very nasty mind and voice and I think that she still dreams that the RNC will knock on her door, God will open it, and she will storm right through it to run for president in 2012. Now, whenever Sarah Palin has talked about God opening doors for her and how she storms right through, I’ve always had an image of her falling flat on her face just past the threshold. Hopefully that’s where she is now and she won’t be able to get up.

But don’t forget that for the msm she has always been a good smirk (remember that no one in the msm challenged her on such gems as “death panels” during the health care debate), so it’s quite possible that her announcement will not mean that she’ll shut up or that the msm won’t still trip all over themselves covering her lies and insinuations (remember the bus trip). That’s why the good bloggers everywhere, who have contributed so much to her announcement (thank you, one and all) must not (please, please, please) stop until all of the Palin truths, no matter how ugly, are exposed. I want her back in Wasilla for good with a possible job ultimately as receptionist for her hairdresser’s shop.

Borowitz already has his post up about Missy Quittypants.

Palin Decides Not to Run: ‘I Want to Go Straight to the Quitting Part’
Decision Leaves Moron Vote Up for Grabs

ANCHORAGE (The Borowitz Report) – Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told reporters today that she would not run for President because “I want to go straight to the quitting part.”

“If I launched a campaign, let’s face it, a couple of months from now I’d up and quit,” she said. “This is a real step-saver for all concerned.”

She said that prior to her decision she had seriously considered running, “but only for the free clothes.”

When asked about her future plans, she said, “Although I’m not running for President, I have no intention of spending more time with my family.”

The former Alaska Governor, who had originally scheduled a thirty-minute press conference to announce her decision, abruptly cut it short after fifteen minutes with no explanation.

The Tea Party favorite’s announcement leaves the remaining Republican candidates scrambling for the moron vote, a key constituency in the 2012 GOP race.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney was said to be considering new strategies to dispel the nagging impression that he is mentally competent, an attribute that has alienated millions of Tea Party voters.

Mr. Romney was rumored to be weighing a number of options, such as barking like a dog or wearing a bunch of bananas on his head at the next televised debate.

Meanwhile, still reeling from charges of racism, Texas Governor Rick Perry was reportedly huddling with advisors at his country home, Jewtrap.

    Sarah has only her base.
She has no staff, or not the size, skills, and experienced kind of staff that she would need for a campaign.
She tends to alienate her employees, and thanks to Alaska progressive bloggers, everybody has known that for a couple of years.

She doesn’t have nearly enough money, and unless the Koch’s agree to bank roll her, she can’t get the kind of money needed for a campaign becasue she has waited too long and the big rollers have already made their choices.

Also too, her national across the board polling wouldn’t get her elected to anything, and by now maybe she has figured that out.

    What will Sarah do next?

  75. LibertyLover says:

I really thought that she would run. But I suppose with all of the dirt coming out on her, she would just have to answer WAY too many questions. Once she entered the race, everything would be fair game.

I wonder If I’ll run into her in a store in Scottsdale someday? 🙂

Well, the Quitter quit, but not before milking it to the last moment and contribution. I, for one, am alittle sad. The prospect of Mrs. Palin scaring off independent and moderate Republicans and drawing away funds and effort from real candidates is now gone. However, what’s a Quitter to do when her approval ratings and the approval ratings for the Tea Party are likewise dropping like stones and after her boss publicly announces he only hired her because “she was hot.”? I do hear that NSNBC is unhappy with Pat Buchanan so maybe there will be an opening over there pretty soon for a conservative wingnut talking head. There’s always Hollywood Squares.

Yes, on the Greta Van Susteren segment, she said that “good ol’ Todd” had been answering a lot of phone calls – and when GVS asked if any of them were from Presidential candidates, Mrs Palin said yes.

Obviously, she thinks they are all going to be coming around for balcony scenes, begging for her endorsement.

    *in Nelson’s voice* Ha-ha.

Like those of us with a brain didn’t know she wouldn’t run. But I love how she’s managed to talk herself (and her supporters, I’m sure) into the idea the Presidency of the United States is somehow beneath her, that somehow she’s gonna be even more powerful and effective without that shackl-y title!

I may actually venture into the cesspool to see the drama. *screws courage to the sticking post*

    • Kate says:

She was actually trying to belittle the whole idea of any one person being important in this country, especially the President. It’s the person behind the scenes that is important because they “rally the troops to get things done”. OMG, she’s gone off the deep end for good now. The leader of the free world is far less important than Sarah Palin according to her delusional statements.

  81. hedgewytch says:

Too funny! It’s essentially the same quitting speech she gave when she dropped the Gov. job.

But we all knew this was coming. There was NO WAY that Palin could declare a run for the Presidency. She has totally cornered herself – not that she wanted the job anyway – but she was eying the “presidential candidate” label as a way to continue her $100k “speaking” engagements and continue being in the spotlight of national attention.

No, her problem has always been the PAC – (and all those other “secrets”). You see, she’s dipped so much into it that there is nothing left with which to mount any kind of serious campaign, as a 3rd party or not. And she doesn’t have any wealthy donors supporting her anymore. If she declares her candidacy then the PAC is subject to a whole bunch more rules and regulations, reporting requirements, expenditures and accounting’s.

And that is what has stopped her cold. As stupid, vain, self-righteous, narcissist and delusional Palin is, she still has just enough sense (or Todd does) to want to stay out of jail. But you know, I’m starting to think its too little too late for her. She’s just has too many skeletons in her closet and they are all rattling way quite loudly.

    • paulabflat says:

      thank you.

that makes sense. someone’s told her about the repercussions, in no uncertain terms.

todd? i can see him threatening her with exposure. i’ve always thought that mrs. palin isn’t the only one with skeletons or a bad reputation. there were TWO bad parents in that house.

today, she’s defending hank williams, jr. says we treated mike tyson better. uh…just uh….on soooooo many levels.

      • diz says:

meanwhile jr varsity headcheerleader candidate Eric Cantor is quickly describing the grass-roots Occupyiers as ‘mobs’, and ferverishly trying to find a cogent response to the inevitable question, ‘how is this different than the actions of the TeaP who you treat as real ‘patriots’ ‘rill Americans’? He is sworn to never utter the words ‘Koch Bros’ in public so I won’t hold my breath for an honest answer. I also would appreciate an answer from the majority leader about his personal interpretation of the 1st Amendment guarantee of lawful and purposeful assembly and just how those rights are distributed on his tally sheet. He has clearly drawn his line deeply in the sand again. I hope that there are a number of frustrated moderate, hard-working registered Republicans who are as offended as most on the left.

I’d also like them to explain how a woman who claims to be an expert on energy independence needed her staff to find out why gas prices were so high in April 2008. I found that little tidbit in an email she sent out. Sarah was pissed off that it cost her so much money to fill her car and she wanted to know exactly what was going on, who raised the price of gas on her and why was it raised!

Isn’t this the same crazy lady who is blaming our President for high gas prices, proving she still doesn’t have a clue as to how anything in this country works?? We’ve dodged a bullet AGAIN! Now if only she would STFU and leave us alone.

I just watched Sarah Palin on a Barbara Walters interview last year where she said she would never put her family through something like that (Babs just asked her about doing a reality show.) Enter Sarah Palin’s Alaska, where Track was the only one to show the world so very visibly how he really felt about Mama Grizzly’s designs on being a household celebrity.

Sarah never even consulted her husband or kids about her “pregnancy” with Trig, informed them that he was special needs, asked them if it was okay that mommy run alongside a man for President and resign her day-job.

So, if Sarah keeps shoving that Family First fantasy down our throats, we are bound to believe the woman has an mililiter of compassion and concern for her own brood.
