Open Thread – GOPumpkins from AAAA! to ZZzzzz….
Well, I had good intentions. I was going to put up pictures of Jack O’Lanterns with the faces of each of the Republican candidates for President and make you pick which one was the scariest. But my little plan, as compelling as it was, fell short. Why? Because apparently, people who will carve pumpkins to look like anything and everything – with stencils and special tools, and instruction booklets – do not find all of the GOP primary candidates interesting enough to waste a perfectly good pumpkin.
But, rather than abandon my mission entirely, I decided to post the only three who do have the honor of being Jacked.
First, (and this one definitely would have won the scariest category, even if there had been more to choose from) the Michele Bachmann:

Thanks so much for posting this. According to reliable sources, which must remain unnamed because thus far it’s an unsubstantiated rumor, Elliot Spitzer’s trip to DC (the one where the FBI showed up at his hotel room to bust him with an overpriced hooker) was made because he was going to spill the beans on the financial crisis, particularly the mortgage meltdown that precipitated it. I don’t know to whom he was going to spill said beans — legislators or the press — but they never were spilled.
Fortunately, Eric Schneiderman, NY’s current Attorney General, and Beau Biden of Delaware (along with a handful of AGs from other states) intend to prosecute when their investigations are finished. There may yet be some justice. Btw, NY and Delaware (Biden’s turf) are important because that’s where the financial firms that crashed the world are incorporated.

The land contains 120 acres and sold near Sioux Center, Iowa-about 40 miles West of Mikey for $16,750 per acre or about enopugh to pay off all the debt in the world(on a really small scale). For the squeamish that equals two million,ten thousand bucks and the successful buyer usually has to pay 50% down.Someone had better hope congress doesn’t cut farm subsidies to millionaires just yet.

Great idea, AKM, and the last photo was perfect. However, the GOP candidate roster seems more appropriate to the holiday that follows Halloween. No, not All Souls Day. The Mexican holiday — Day of the Dead (El Dia de los Muertos).

any good buys for Mikey. I waited for the last day to see if there were any real bargains to be had. I need(in no particular order) a new right hip(for total replacement) a new spine-at least the bottom third,and possibly a new right knee and left shoulder. Apparently Mikey has some hitherto unknown problems with osteo-arthritis. No offense-but I would check in the hardware department for my shopping list. Good luck on your next endeavor to persevere. I think they were using all of those as Halloween decorations in a restaurant I went to yesterday. You should be able to pick them up pretty cheaply after the holiday.
Merry, things are looking up. Times like this force us to be creative and more open to alternate solutions. I’m excited to see what you’ll come up with.
I’m afraid we never did sell those. I might need some replacement parts myself someday. I plan on holding out for the do it yourself kit. 🙂
I want to thank everyone for all your kind words. I actually have several opportunities for employment. All of them pay more with a better schedule. I am getting my life back! Today went well. One of the owners for another hardware store came in and bought everything! All we had to do was get it to the register, ring it up and pack it in their crates. I scored the microwave, toaster and plants along with some paint and tools for free. So I got my bonus after all. On top of that, the guy from the other store wants to talk to me about working for him. Not a bad day.
