What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow?

  2. jimzmum says:

Yargle! I do hope not to see that here, although the horrible, nasty heat has killed a beautiful Weeping Japanese Pine that we have babied for the last five years. All that is left is the copper support. *sigh*

Now, we are Novembering. 20* one day, 83* the next. I walk out to the defunct’s surviving whatever – thriving 12 feet away, and check for signs of anything that will mean curtains.

  3. leenie17 says:

Did you hear what that waste of oxygen, Rush Limbaugh, said about the crowd booing?

“They understand it’s a little bit of uppity-ism.”

Not too racist, is he??? Don’t remember him ever saying that about Laura Bush or even Hilary Clinton.

  4. Lacy Lady says:

I see there is a form to send to CNN and sumit questions for the Rep. debate tomorrow night/ with Wolf Blitzer. It can be found on the CNN website/ politics. I just sent my question—as to whether it will be asked?? Guess I will have to wait and see.

In the 50s, frost this morning- but no pictures as cool as that. Thanks, AKM…

  6. thatcrowwoman says:

It’s too darn hot here in the forest, but it IS Florida.
Temps and humidity both near 80. Meh.

    Around the world in 90…
    minutes?!
Check out this time lapse video (it’s 5 minutes long) from the International Space Station:

    Stay warm; be cool. 🙂

In case my post above bummed you out, cheer up with this visit to a penguin chick “spa,” courtesy of the coming documentary, Frozen Planet:

    They’re adorable.

As David Bowie wrote so many years ago, “We’ve got five years.”

We hav now joined your freeze-a-thon there in Central Alaska! A whole 3 degrees above and current windchill of -10. It has ‘warmed’ up, it was -11 :-))

Baker’s D- enough that warmth and Irish…..I totally understand on the need for warmth. Am watching the European money issues with much interest!

    • Baker's Dozen says:

Thanks, Ben, but I’ll be in your neck of the woods on Friday. Can you sprinkle the soap flakes on Summit Road instead? I’m bringing my skis.

    • Baker's Dozen says:

I had to wear a sweater today. Well, at least after 4:00.

    • Baker's Dozen says:

Picked some oranges. Our Faux Palms (natives of Madison, WI) look great.

I posted the Frum article Sullivan references in his post on the last open threat. If you haven’t had a chance to read this take at look at Sullivan’s:

  11. Baker's Dozen says:

    I miss the snow.

    It’s 65 here today. I was expecting 70

    • benlomond2 says:

Don’t fret, BD…. I’ll roll over on my way to play golf friday am with a BIG box of Ivory Soap flakes, and sprinkle your yard with them…. Snow without the cold ~~!!

  12. Irishgirl says:

We actually have unseasonably, unreasonably high temperatures…12 and 13 degrees celcius. This is very good as the gas companies have upped their rates by 33%. Ireland is broke and broken. So we need all the mild weather we can get.

🙂 If you can’t laugh, you will go into a deep depression.
