Beluga Watch!
Interested in participating in a study of beluga whales in Cook Inlet? A group looking to study the absence and presence of beluga whales along the coast of Cook Inlet, and more fully understand the habitat needs of these amazing animals will be hosting a training session.
If you are interested in being a participant in the study, all you need to do is bring yourself and your enthusiasm tonight to the BP Energy Center from 6:30-8:45 to learn how to help in this effort.
The training session will feature speakers Barbara Mahoney of NOAA, and wildlife biologist Tamara McGuire who has been involved with individual cataloguing of the whales.
Where is the BP nrg ctr?
BTW, new thread…
Ah, that’s certainly a huge step up from some other people who have their own PACs! And would you be good at spotting belugas?
I like to listen!!
IrishGirl–yeah, and what exactly would you do for that money? Like, would the donors get any benefit??? 😉
Barb and Tamara are really smart ladies and lots of fun to talk to. It will be an evening well spent.
I thought the Pac was a great idea!!! I could just see me getting money for nothing!!!
Cholocates?? Send them care of AKM!
Hey, IrishGirl, don’t know about setting up a PAC for you, but I’m sure you could score some free housing with an Anch. mudpup if you could get there!
No takers….and i was getting all excited about my trip to Alaska…..I thought if Sarah can do it, why can’t I ???
Gee, wouldn’t that piss off Bad Sarah.

@the problem child IS MY NAME!—awwwww, he’s a cutie!
If someone sponsors me, I’ll gladly attend the session.
Could we set up an IrishgirlPac!! 🙂
Yeah, they don’t commute down here either, or I’d keep an eye out for them here. Maybe I’ll see if I have any Anch. friends who’d like to help.
There is this uncertain future…years ago, you could always emigrate…now everywhere is the same. People don’t have the same options.
I would LOVE to do something like that
Unfortunately — bosses won’t let me commute that far
🙁
I would love to see the Beluga Whales….I’m like Duckdriver as well. Six months ago I could have done it….now I’m afraid to spend.
I would love to take a break from the lower 48 and count whales.
But in this economy, it will be a while before I could afford to do it.
