Beautiful cat! Many years ago, I was sitting, reading, on a large log which crossed the river where my ex & two sons were fishing. Several times, I had the feeling someone was watching me, but when I turned around, no one was there. Finally my rear end started to go numb & I stood up, stretched, & moved to a near-by rock. I had no sooner sat down on the rock when I caught a glimpse of a blur of golden brown fur pass by me on the log I had just vacated. Quickly looked around & saw a gorgeous Lynx crossing the river. It stopped mid-way, turned & looked back at me accusingly as if it were saying “It’s about time you moved.”
It was one of the best moments in my life. One can look at photos & ooooh & ahhhh & enjoy them, but there is nothing in the world like actually seeing beautiful animals in the wild.
Anyone happen to catch the Lt. Gubbernor of Florida defend herself from allegations of a Lesbian affair? It is on Huff Po and if necessary I kin post it later.
I saw a mother lynx and her two babies walking down a road out at Katmai National Park back in 1987, and the sight is forever fixed in my memory. They are simply gorgeous. They have very long legs, and walk with a wonderfully graceful and disdainful stride. The adults anyway. The kittens seem to be full time tumblers. I’ve seen jaguars and ocelots, bobcats and mountain lions all in the wild, but I think lynx are my favorites.
You jus’ described the married supermodel of my bestest dreams ever. I could never have said anything as beautiful as that-without having her slap me silly. Send rain, por favor. Gracias Ms Mag.
It is 102 degrees in Sioux City as I type this. Too hot to wear much of anything but a smile since I don’t have a/c. It did, however, rain enough this early morning to settle the dust for the most part. I will save whatever velvet I can find for cooler weather. Actually6 the weather channel said tonight it would be 74 with light freezing drizzle. Even the WC is heat crazy.

Mike, put on velvet clothes. Whenever I do that, it rains. I ended years of drought in Brazil with my arrival. I’ll do my best to send you some.
