Open Thread – Behind Curtain #1

It’s a gorgeous day here in the valley. The sun is sunning, and the clouds are clouding, and the sky is blue. And imagine my surprise when I parted the curtains and … Brian! He’s looking drop dead gorgeous – shiny and brown with a 50″ rack. He’s going to be a popular fellow this fall, that’s for sure. After he’d finished munching on the alders outside the window he headed down the driveway. It was so good to see him, I’ll even forgive him for peeing on my boat as he left. Seriously… it’s like he was raised in a barn.

Ok, I am WAY behind on post but am laughing like heck on this one!! I think we have it bad when the occassional dog pees on things…now a moose:-)))
    Thanks for the chuckle!

Have you heard of unPAC? Here’s their introductory video:

What a treat! Brian sensed you were struggling with server issues so he just wanted to stop by with a show of support.

He’s looking mighty fine & handsome!

  4. Sister A says:

Beautiful Brian pics – laughing to think what my cats would do if THAT was what they saw when I open our curtains in the a.m

Like zyxomma and I’m sure so many others, missing the forum terribly and can’t wait for things to get back to normalish times. Wish I could help, somehow, remotely, but in the meantime, wish the mUdministrators the best of luck. I’m sure all of YOU would rather be focusing on something else as well.

“and as he walked away in silence, its strange how you never know. That he had gotten what he asked for, such a long, long time ago. You see he was gonna be a bully and he was gonna be the king.” With apologies all around to the late, great Harry Chapin. Mag girl if you are out there. I saw a distinctly familiar yellow bi-plane fly over today, bucking a head wind and the chap with the flowing scarf had a peculiar,Cockney accent to his cussing. Does Reggie spit tobacco or just epithets?

  6. Brian is definitely looking stupendous. But, honestly, I think it would scare me to death to open the curtains and find a moose that close. I guess you get used to it, eh?

  7. leenie17 says:

That is one dashing hunk of moose-ness! Watch out ladies, here comes Brian to woo your hearts!

  8. mike from iowa says:

From the “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” department. In the Sioux City Journal there is this listing for help wanted-Sarah Lee/Bimbo Bakery-maintenance supervisor. For once I;m speechless.

    • mike from iowa says:

Poor Brian. Knowing what he knows of the quitter,ex-half guv,is it any wonder He has such a long sad face?

    • LA Brian says:

I see Bimbo Bakery products out here all the time, which makes more sense given that they are a Mexican company. I checked their wiki entry and was surprised to find out some of the other brands they own.

    What a hunk!
I had a second job interview yesterday. Hoping to hear something soon. Cross your fingers, light a candle, say a prayer, click your heels together and hope like hell I get this job.

  10. beth. says:

Wonderful pics, AKM. [confession time] For some reason, it never occured to me that moose did not have tails. I just always assumed… [red-faced] beth.

    • Carol says:

Moose do have tails, just not big ones. One book describes it as “thin and relatively inconspicuous”. Guess they spend all their growing energy on antlers or pregnancies.

  11. Zyxomma says:

Beautiful! Note to the mods: I clicked on this story on the homepage and got nowhere. I had to search Open Thread July 2012 to get the list of open threads, then click on this story. I’m obviously not the only one who had this problem.

    Brian is one hunky moose!

    • COalmostNative says:

Today I’m not having issues- but this past week I could only access The Flats by doing Internet gyrations, or I got the dreaded 404 Not Found.

      What gives?

      *waving* at Brian 🙂

Moving to a new server has had its challenges. In order for the blog not to be down, we used an interim url… and then, of course, as the internet gremlins made sure, we went down anyway. *sigh* As happened last time we did the server hop, it took some time to work out all the glitches. Thanks so much to all of you for your patience while we try to get the blog and forum back to running smoothly.

        • Zyxomma says:

I came back for a second look at the dashing Brian, and all went smoothly. I’m dealing with my Forum withdrawal (lots of great rMoney stuff recently, and I won’t remember where it all was by the time I can get there again); hoping that we (you) can get there sometime soon.

I just love that he knows where “home” is.
