Post Election Grief from “That Guy”

We’ve seen all kinds of wailing, and sobbing, and rending of garments since Tuesday’s Presidential election. We witnessed Karl Rove’s own mental denial of service attack on Fox News, and we’ve seen whatever right wing Facebook friends we have left indulging in a variety of reactions from head shaking at the idiocy of their fellow Amurrikans, to downright racist screeds about the President.

But not until I read through my own emails, and saw this forward of a forward from a friend of a friend, had I seen such a comprehensive, and straightforward regurgitation of right wing gripes, talking points, bigotries, and political delusion.

It’s like the dog ate a sampling of every single thing in the giant garbage can of crazy, and then puked it all up in the middle of the living room carpet. At least they are the ones who will have to clean up their own mess.

I present to you, the blast email I received yesterday, entitled:

The American Dream ended last night in Ohio.

The second term of Barack Obama will be the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest Republic in the history of mankind.

A coalition of Blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the forever needy, the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens, and other fellow travelers has ended Norman Rockwell’s America.

The US Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Radicals’ and Chicago shyster David Axelrod, along with international socialist George Soros, will be pulling the strings on their black puppet to bring us into the New World Order.

The Republicans ran two candidates who couldn’t even win their own home states, while circus clown Chris Christie helped Obama over the top with a glowing ‘post – Sandy’ tribute that elevated the phony ‘Commander-in Chief’ to Mother Teresa status.

People like me are now completely politically irrelevant; I will never again comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned Republican coalition, which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.

You will never again outvote the people who gave Obama four more years. It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away. It will take zealots, not moderates; zealots who will never ‘reach across the aisle’ to RINOs, to right this ship and restore our beloved Country to it’s former status.

Those who come after us will have to risk ‘their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor’ to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to white guilt and political correctness.

My wife and I will now put our anti-ACLU Nativity Scene on display, and start wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas”. And enjoy the rest of our lives in our 50’s-throwback Village of (Redacted) Lakes, here in (Redacted) Harbor.

Atlas has Shrugged, and John Galt has left the building.

  5. benlomond2 says:

Wonder if the guy knows he just admitted to being a Socialist, with his Christian rant??

All good Christians are suppose to give up 1/10 of their income to the church- to support thr church and to do “good works” for those less fortunate…. sure sounds like wealth disribution to me…

    • mik from iowa says:

like Rumsfeld opined, there aere things they don’t know they don’t know. How’s my redwoods coming?

  6. aeroentropy says:

Does anyone else note that this letter could easily be read by Stephen Colbert, with a totally different interpretation? I wonder if these people have been punk’d!

    • J Medley says:

And yet, I have no doubt this is also an accurate reflection of how many feel. What puzzles me is that anyone would think Rockwell’s America, if it ever existed, died on election night. Where has he been for last half century?

This points to a weird kind of conservative myopia I’ve noticed in recent years. Things that have been around longer than any living memory are cast as current and insidious liberal plots: anit-trust law, the FDA, public education. They chip at the affectiveness of these things. Then efforts to restore them to their former strength are denounced as efforts to destroy America, even though the restorative goal was the status quote for decades.

Those who don’t follow these things closesly see Dems and Reps as two sides of the same coin. To be honest, I’m not exactly surprised. I don’t know how to work constructively with a viewpoint like that and preserve the things I support.

  7. mik from iowa says:

Kids got you down? Are you right wing and mad as hell that the Black guy won again? Get instant relief-the Charlie Fuqua(former Arkansas legislator and former lawyer for the Ark Dept. of Human Services) way. Seek the death penalty for rebellious chillen. And he quotes the bible Deut. 21:18-21:. According to this brilliant theorician you won’t have to kill many kids,it will serve as a deterrent. No wonder rethugs want to abolish abortion, Where would they satiate their blood lust if they can’t start illegal wars. btw he explains his views in his new book “Gods War”

  8. Krubozumo Nyankoye says:

Unfortunately 57 million voters are not irrelevant. We have to wonder, how could so many people be fooled into supporting such a transparently ridiculous candidate for the most difficult and dangerous job in the world?

There is a blog I am told that documents over 900 lies Romney told just since the beginninf of 2012. That is pushing four per day. And yet he came close to being elected.

He essentially said, my personal taxes are my business and you people have no right to know how I have played the system and cheated every way I can to keep my money. Only little people pay taxes. And still 57 million people gave him a pass, not a problem. He’s swimming in money so he must be righteous.

He had a vague tax reform proposal, didn’t really spell out exactly what it was, close some loop holes like toss out the mortgage interest tax deduction. Make the borrowers pay the tax for the lenders and let the lenders defer the taxes for 30 years and pay capital gains rates on them. Nice. Give himself a huge tax reduction at the same time, instead of paying 14% he pays 7%, maybe. That was fine with 57 million people. He’s rich so he must be smart!

He pushed another big lie, entitlements, social security is a ponzi scheme! Social security is the cause of our defecit! Awful awful! Put on your Mitt Romney headphones so they translate this into his droning preacher’s voice and imagine him addressing his constituents, the 0.01% who between them, all 20,000 or so, are sitting on about $3 trillion in cash. — My friends, we are all filthy rich, but some of us are richer than others, you are billionaires, I just have a few hundred million stashed away, well and some stock worth a few hundred million, and some blind trusts worth a few hundred million, and an IRA worth a few hundred million, but you know, we all frequent the same golf courses. But what I am here to tell you is that we are missing out on an opportunity. For the past 30 years I have enriched myself by taking over profitable and meaningful companies, gutting them by selling off their assets after drowning them in debt, and pillaged their pension funds, leaving their unemployees with exactly nothing and pocketing a big chunk of what they paid into for myself , the rest going to my vulture partners. Well I am here to tell you that the biggest pension fund in the world is our next target. The social security trust fund is worth about $7 trillon. That’s trillion with a Tee! Do you get what I am saying? More than double our collective net worth is out there waiting to be harvested! Do you think it makes sense for all that money to be frittered away to pay for all those old folks who are too lazy to run their own vulture capital scams? We need to turn social security into a REAL insurance program where the profit margins are at least 20%.

And you know what, I like ships, so lets spend another two or three trillion dollars to build some more ships we don’t need. We could build cruise carriers where the crews paid $5,000 each for a two week term of duty, launching aircraft, arming bombs, fueling all that stuff can be done by people who will pay their way to have the thrill instead of us recruiting greedy teenagers and twenty somethings who want to chip off bits of our enormous wealth. We will need a fleet of 100 aircraft carriers to keep all those fat and lazy folks involved paying their way to act like real navy type sailors. We’ll set it all up as a pass through, so that the government pays us as a contractor and we bill them 5 times what we pay our employees. It’s sweet and easy.

I, Mitt, have to admit, I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to this mathematics thing. I do know how to run an adding machine though and so I know based upon my faith in the lord that there is a huge fortune to be made in playing commodities futures. We are working on cornering the markets for air and water but it is tough sledding so far. Still, we have everything else sewn up tight. In the last decade we have quadrupled the cost of gasoline and tripled our profits. The fools still don’t get the fact we are exploiting them.BTW that quarter of profits we miss out on, well it goes to the speculators, so we have to tolerate it, after all, without them we’d have to live off 5% profit instead of 50%.

Just keep all these details in mind you loyal republicans who vote in lockstep against your own interests.
    There is much more….

  9. Susan Carlsen says:

I’m glad he’s decided to pack it in. It’s appalling though the degree to which so many others believe in this — it can only be from being taught not to think.

  10. Moles says:

“People like me are now completely politically irrelevant; I will never again comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned Republican coalition”

    Promise?

  11. I’m so glad this wasn’t in my email. I’ve managed to alienate most of the people I know who would understand and agree with this drivel. The ones who were still talking to me on facebook (and annoying me) have been uncermoniously unfriended. I wonder if they have noticed it yet? Honestly, I think we are all better off not talking to each other. They are mostly the same people I knew in high school and I didn’t much like them then.

    • merrycricket says:

Interesting that I have a group from high school as well that are like yours. Most of the foolishness I read from them involves forgetting 7th grade American history. I have been absolutely shocked at the level of willful ignorance. Thanks to the magic of Facebook, I have learned how to exclude them from my feed.

      • I tried excluding them, but they could still comment on all the political things I posted and I got tired of having to talk to them. So they are gone. Like I said, I didn’t like them in high school either. They were just added to my “friends” list when it was time for our 40th reunion. (I’ve never gone to one of those either – it should have been a clue that I really didn’t want to talk to them.)

  12. Tele says:

“It’s like the dog ate a sampling of every single thing in the giant garbage can of crazy, and then puked it all up in the middle of the living room carpet.”

I don’t have the stomach to read the email, but that line is brilliant. Thanks, AKM.

  13. Wugmump says:

. . . and don’t let the door hit you in the . . . head. I assume that’s your head, because that’s where your Ted Nugent camo ballcap is.

No, this has to end. I’d love see Fox News lose their broadcast license and maybe after a generation, the vitriol and misinformation (okay, lies) will begin to lose their effect. I’d love to see Rush and Glenn retire quietly to the mansions they’ve traded for polarizing the populace. Divide and conquer? Seems legit.

“A coalition of Blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the forever needy, the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens, and other fellow travelers has ended Norman Rockwell’s America.”

I will be all night trying to figure out which category I fit into. MMMMMMM!

  15. Mo says:

Goonemeritus at Wonkette posted what, to me, is the most poignant take on Election 2012:

“In 2004 when Bush won my response was well I guess our Republic is strong enough to survive 4 more years of this clown. I guess I just didn’t love my country enough to take my ball and go home or plot to kill everyone that disagreed with me.”

Yes. This. What distinguishes a true patriot from butthurt conservatards.

  16. Mo says:

We’ve all been taking large doses of Wonkette daily, amirite?

    Heh. Hehheh. Hehhehhehhehheh. HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A. HOO-HOO-HOO-HOO-HOO-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    Cough. Harumph. As you were.

Alien West behind by 2442 votes and still won’t concede. Someone needs to tell him it is so over.

    • Wugmump says:

I agree. It’s hard to keep from losing my temper when I talk to those people, but you’re right; we need a conversation, not a wall. We have a lot of work to do, and a fight is not the answer. Good for you, and thanks for reminding me.

  18. crowepps says:

“the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest Republic”

(Sarcasm) Just *imagine* what could have been accomplished if they had allowed some women to participate!

    • Mo says:

With the unwilling assistance of some black slaves, of course, and the wholesale assassination of native peoples.

I’m guessing the dopes swallowing this swill are fat, cowardly losers who couldn’t survive a bar fight.

      • jsrbailey says:

Yeah I don’t think those white males were really alone. There were plenty of blacks, Native Americans and women involved in the history also. It’s sad that the understanding of history is so narrow.

        • Jeanne Devon says:

And don’t forget the Chinese! This whole thing is the larger version of “I built that all by myself!”

  19. OtterQueen says:

    Wow. This is amazing.

A – How do you “discover” a place that is already inhabited? B – There’s another word for this “coalition” he writes of: American voters. And Norman Rockwell’s America existed only in paintings. He does know they’re paintings, right? C – I’m not sure who he’s blaming for the Republican ticket. Seems to me registered Republicans nominated Romney and Ryan to represent them in the election. D – Oh, noes! Political irrelevance! Here’s a big sloppy welcome from women, minorities, the unemployed, and LGBTQ people everywhere. E – Yes, the large majority of minorities who voted for Obama did so out of “white guilt.”

I could go on, but I’ll just end with: F – What the hell does an anti-ACLU nativity scene look like?

    • Forty Watt says:

“What the hell does an anti-ACLU nativity scene look like? ”

All the participants are male Caucasian Christian Americans with the exception of Mary, a certified Virgin who nonetheless chose to carry her baby to term, and the three Kings who have traveled all the way from England carrying greetings from Maggie Thatcher. The sheep, need I say, are white.

      • slipstream says:

And the baby in the manger looks just like Ronald Reagan.

      • Maeve says:

And they all speak American English!
        Its a Miracle!

        • AKMagpie says:

Nah, I think they had an early generation Dragon speech to text software… Plus an Aramaic/Greek translation software package with that handy time-warp feature so that it could be delivered both to the King James Bible authors and to the Amurikins after the invention of that instrument of the devil, the printing press. ‘Course somewhere along the way the memory modules got a bit scrambled and corrupted.

      • aeroentropy says:

And the baby Jesus, in the parphrased words of Gary Trudeau, was played by a 40-Watt lightbulb.

      • mik from iowa says:

actually some U of Texas students made an anti-ACLU nativity scene in 2006. It featured Gary and Joeseph,no baby jesus,an angel with Nancy Pelosi’s face(picture) and the three wise men were represented as Stalin,Lenin and Marx. I looked it up by googling anti-ACLU nativity scene.

  20. Ripley In CT says:

Gee, I sure wish he had explained what this means: “to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away”…. could you be more specific? Link? *snicker*

  21. mesham says:

I can’t get my head around what they are talking about, what did they lose? I mean, what do THEY honestly think they lost? Is it really just as shallow and stupid as “We white christian men can’t always have our way anymore?” Can they articulate anything valid?

What do these people truly think is going to happen over the next 4 years? How is the country going to be destroyed?

(do I have to watch 2016 to find out what they are talking about?

    • It’s hard to articulate something valid when they don’t have any valid points, isn’t it. My hope is that they are so discouraged that they will stop voting – clearly they aren’t in their right minds anymore and didn’t understand those history lessons they were supposed to learn.

  22. bonefish says:

Isn’t that just something…. glad it isn’t on my rug.

  23. Alaska Pi says:

    Oh poor guy.
Did anyone ever tell him Galt is imaginary, you know, like the Easter Bunny only slimy?
Sure hope he’s right about one thing though, the part about becoming politically irrelevant.
