Keeping Up With the Johnstons

johnstoncourthouse

Sherry Johnston, according to her lawyer Rex Butler, has agreed to plead guilty to a felony drug charge of  “possession with intent to deliver.”  She will submit her guilty plea on July 31, and in exchange, the state has agreed to dismiss five other drug charges against her.

She arrived at the courthouse (above) with her daughter Mercede, Tank Jones, and the almost-son-in-law of the governor, Levi.   (whispering to Sherry and Levi) I think that Mercede and Tank need to be consulted on appropriate wardrobe choices from now on….just sayin’.

Johnston’s arrest involved the drug oxy-contin, a narcotic painkiller for which she had a prescription.

Levi has also been in the press quite a bit lately.  He’s even popped up in the New York Times.

Mr. Jones and Mr. Butler, who is also representing Mr. Johnston’s mother, Sherry, in her trial on narcotics charges, have doled out interviews with care, most recently to GQ magazine, which may be a logical choice given Mr. Johnston’s strong  jawline and rugged good looks (yes, the magazine did a photo shoot).

Because of Mr. Johnston’s interest in a book deal, he “doesn’t want to give it all away right now,” Mr. Butler said.

This month, Sarah Palin committed to write a memoir for HarperCollins, reaping what was said to be a large advance and reigniting speculation that she will run for president. Mr. Butler likes to suggest that Mr. Johnston’s story could have an impact on her potential candidacy.

“Quite frankly, I think it could affect 2012,” Mr. Butler said, declining to elaborate.

He also said that the information being held back by his client — who is, after all, a single father with neither a high school diploma nor a steady job — was worth “quite a bit” of money.

So now even the NY Times is talking about “the bombshell.”  And we still wait.  And we drum our fingers, and eat popcorn, and make wild hand gestures while pleading “Come ON!” to our computer screens.   It hasn’t been revealed how much Sarah Palin is making on her book deal, but something tells me her fluff piece called “I Am Alaska” or whatever it’s real name will be,  is not going to be nearly as interesting as Levi’s book.  What I’m wondering is why doesn’t Levi drop the bomb, and THEN get the book deal?

To clear a few things up:

It is correct that Britta Hanson is the girlfriend of Track Palin. They have been together since High School, while they were in the same class.

Britta Hanson is also employed as an executive secretary in Sarah Palin’s office. (…so she doesn’t have to worry about her economic security…how clever of Sarah!).

Here is the Windows Live Profile of Britta Hanson (mentioning Track…):

    http://cid-722981cd7e4b2a73.profile.live.com/

HOWEVER – there are some incorrect rumors floating around…

First of all: Britta Hanson is NOT the daughter of Brad Hanson.

Secondly: Britta Hanson is NOT the mother of Trig. She was on an extended European trip from January 2008 to May 2008 – she made a private blog for her friends and family about the trip, while she was in Europe. The blog can be read here:

    http://brittainspain2008.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2008-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-08%3A00&updated-max=2009-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-08%3A00&max-results=17

This link is pretty long, here is the tinyurl:

    http://tinyurl.com/d7ckjk

In this blog, you will find photos of Britta Hanson with her parents. You will note that her father does not look anything like Brad Hanson. A check on Intelius also reveals that her relatives are: Elizabeth I Hanson, Duane J Hanson, Jeffrey M Hanson, Matthew E Hanson and Heikki L Hanson.

So can we please stop with this Britta Hanson stuff. She might be a case for another ethics violation (employing your son’s girlfriend on the taxpayer’s expense?), but Britta Hanson is not relevant for babygate.

It is however very well possible that the first name of the real mother of Trig starts with a “B” indeed (surprise, surprise…).

Too funny !! Hey – Get the M.I.A. Dr. and all the paperwork all in one place and settle it up. The whole thing is squirrelly to say the least. If sarah even thinks she is running for a national office , she better come clean now. She won’t skate next time. There are too many -gates to even be taken seriously. Romney does not need RNC money and will take her out hard and fast.

Ripley in CT @104: “What if Trig is TRACK’s baby with some girl?”

    Tin Foil Hat On/

What if Trig is Track’s baby from Sherry Johnston? The family were all friends. It certainly would explain alot of the strange anomolies, such as why Mercede called “TriggyBear” he “little brother”. Trig being a DS baby would be more likely from an older woman (SP and SJ are about the same age), It would explain why SP had to “make up” a story to get back to AK – SJ might have gone into labor prematurely. It would explain why SP had to bypass perfectly good hospitals in TX and Anchorage before “giving birth”. It would explain why she put off telling people about her pregnancy and why people couldn’t even tell she was pregnent. It even explains SJ keeping quiet on the subject. The only way I could hide a truth like that is if I honestly believed my child would be better off for it. Y’know, kinda like Moses’ mother puttin’ him in the basket to be found by Pharaoh’s daughter and then he gets raised in a well-to-do home, while Moses’ mom then becomes Pharaoh’s daughter’s handmaiden and so gets to be around to watch him grow up. And even then I still don’t know if I could keep it a secret, but maybe some can.

    Tin Foil Hat Off/

But what it doesn’t explain, convincingly enough for me, is how Mercede, Bristol and Levi could be kept hush-hush about it, and, presumably, Todd. Track could easily stay silent as he had himself removed from it all, quite smartly, I think. That’s mostly why I am not fully in on this otherwise tantilizing conspiracy theory.

And of course, all that’s needed to squelch this one is some independent source saying s/he saw SJ anytime from let’s say Feb.-April 2008 and she was definetly not pregnant.

Once again, even if I’m completely wrong and both babies were delivered exactly as SP has said they were, what’s troubling is all the strange circumstances surrounding the births – Sarah’s tale traveling from TX to AK knowing she could have gone into full labor at any moment is just bizaare. And the way Tripp’s arrival was ‘leaked’ by a Seattle relative (I think it was), then no pictures of the baby for about a month? Just odd.

But then, everything about SP is odd. Her latest trick about implying she is going to be attending something, or not, and then appearing to change her mind at the last moment is really starting to bug me. Does she not see how that makes her unreliable in people’s eyes? Her cancelling the gigs in NY/DC to stay in AK to deal with flooding issues is fine – it’s everything else. Heck, she even tweeted she wasn’t going to the hockey game, and then she tweeted that she WAS going to the hockey game. People cannot even trust her own tweets about where she is going to be.

And if they can’t trust her to tell the truth on that, why should she expect people to believe the tales she tells us about her family? Or about what energy policy makes best sense for Alaskans? Or anything else, for that matter?

I wouldn’t trust her to give me a working cookie recipe.

    ————–

Dang. I thought Gryphen pretty much said it was babygate. But I can’t remember what I think he said and surely wouldn’t swear to it. Interesting that you have the opposite impression.

Is it possible the iceberg and Levi’s ‘bombshell’ are two different things?

  6. Ripley in CT says:

I think it was probably a pop-up associated with it when I tried to open it. It was ok the second time.

  7. zyggy says:

I think Trig is Palin’s, and the reason she hid the pregnancy was because of the down syndrome, plus they tend to be smaller and she wouldn’t have shown as much.

As far as what Levi will offer up, I’m thinking it will be lots of word salad out of Palin’s mouth, and although it will have to be translated into English, it will be juicy. Probably racial slurs, and a few choice bits about Palin’s views on how to deal with Alaskan natives.

  8. Kali says:

What has Levi lied about ?? He was fed a script to follow , but I’d believe him before any Palin.

  17. I admit to following this story on PD since the fall. I now tend to head for Immoral Minority, here, or Palingates to stay up to date on “babygate.” This story could turn out to involve an adult-teen pregnancy, which would validate Mercedes’ myspace comments. To what extremes have people gone to to protect the true story? It is possible that unthinkable things have occurred, although I truly hope that does not turn out to be the case.
The last eight years gave everyone a reason to doubt and mistrust all elected officials, their staffers, friends and family. Palinpalooza is just an extension of that, unfortunately for them, they have had the bad luck to run up against the blogging explosion. I’m glad it happened to Palin, because she exemplifies the hubris, lack of education and gall of so many politicians today. While we may drop our collective heads to the desk over what she has gotten away with, I am sure her day of reckoning is near, and it could rival the major falls from grace we have seen over the last 50 years.

The best way to enjoy the show is with a big bowl of popcorn in your lap, and may I recommend my favorite prepartion…cook your popcorn in extra virgin olive oil, add a bit of salt when poped, and dig in!

  19. trisha says:

I just read an interview of Adrienna Huffington (of Huffington Post) in a past issue of MORE magazine. She made a really insightful statement. She wasn’t speaking of Palin, but read this and think of Palin’s reaction to those who dare criticize her during and after the campaign. Uhhhhhh….Palin…..guilty much?

In a nutshell: She was asked “what has the power to sting (hurt you). She answered, if its personal and TRUE (it hurts), if you are accused of something that isn’t true….why would it hurt your feelings….unless you are psychotic. She goes on to talk about President Obama and how well he handles criticism and name calling—she said he smiles and moves on because he know it isn’t true.

Contrast that with Palin’s actions. When I read this, all I could think about her constant attacks on the media, bloggers…Levi, anyone who dare question her. Gosh Palin….if it’s not true….why would it hurt? The lady doth protest too much.

  26. MO Inkslinger says:

If Sarah had practiced abstinence after marriage, she would have eliminated her problems down to only one child. Palin’s book will be a bore as she isn’t about to bear all in light of her aspirations. The media overexposure of Palin has turned her in to the Britney Spears of politics. If Levi writes a book, it was probably be a far clearer picture of the lives of the Palin. People complain about Levi making a few $$ off the Palin name, but aren’t the Palins making a few $$$$$ off the name, too?

  27. samper says:

Levi needs to get DNA tests on BOTH kids, if he knows Trigg is not Sarah’s.

THEN, he needs to fight for 50/50 custody instead of allowing Bristol to call all the shots. Who the heck is SHE to say he can’t see his own son(s)?

It’s not like Bristol’s family is oh so much more upstanding than his. It’s not like his family would hurt the baby(ies).

He should take Tripp (and Trigg, if Trigg is a Johnston) on an outing, and keep him/them overnight at his house WITHOUT her permission. Give her a taste of what she’s putting him through.

Let her TRY to enter the house and take the baby(ies), just like he’s forced to do. He says he’s fully equipped to care for him/them. Why not let them have a few overnights?

Because Bristol, like Sarah, is a complete CONTROL FREAK. NOT because she has “more standing” than Levi.

I can see it now… Bristol calls the cops to collect the baby(ies) and they comply because they don’t want to go through what Wooten did, not because they agree with Palin.

What would Levi’s argument be? He/They is/are MY OWN SON(S)! I have every right to house them, as a father should… UNTIL THE COURTS TELL ME OTHERWISE!

COPS: Too bad, Palin will get us fired if we don’t show up with with the baby(ies).

LEVI to CUSTODY JUDGE: Bristol sent the COPS to take my child(ren) away from me!

CUSTODY JUDGE: You get him/them EXACTLY one half of the time. No child support flows in either direction, all expenses for medical, etc. will be 50/50.

    End of story.

  28. samper says:

I live in Michigan and attended college near where Track was playing hockey. It’s on the other side of the state (I’m in the Detroit area), but poster was right… Portage is a tiny town of really no importance. Truth be told, Track’s attendance here was a big surprise to me. I found out while listening to Palin address an audience here before McCain pulled out. It wasn’t all that widely publicized here in Detroit, or if it was, it didn’t throw up any red flags because it was before the convention.

It begs the question… if Track was going to come to MI because he’s such a “star” in hockey, why wouldn’t he have attended a “real” hockey camp, sponsored by some bigger name? Seems this whole Portage thing was just an unknown school in the Midwest that would keep him under wraps for a while.

That said, many Michiganders are VERY angry that McCain pulled out of Michigan. In our worst economic climate EVER, the abandonment issues still ring.

You guys have no idea what it’s like here. I live within 5 miles of 4 major plants and to see the parking lots empty is heartbreaking. Everyone suffers here, right down to my boyfriend of 12 years, who just lost his pub and home (collateral, tied to the pub) due to the economy. If the auto workers aren’t out spending cash, and they are a HUGE segment of our population, then everyone suffers. Even pub owners. It’s terrible (and that’s putting it mildly!).

I’m laid off since September from an auto supplier. At least I’m making ends meet with unemployment benefits (Thank GOD, they were extended – more so in MI than elsewhere!). But dear BF doesn’t even get benefits. I have a feeling McCain wouldn’t have been quite so helpful to the folks here in Michigan if he were elected (God Forbid!).

All that said, McCain’s pulling out has several layers to it. First, he ABANDONED AMERICAN MANUFACTURING by leaving Michigan. We build the tanks and Jeeps they like to run around in in Iraq, btw. His precious war would be NOTHING without Detroit. You’d think a “shout out” would be in order, or maybe a “thanks”. Track is probably sitting in a good ol’ Detroit Made vehicle as I write this.

Second, we also heard alot of “Defeatist Attitude” from the McCain camp. In other words, they KNEW they couldn’t win here, so they didn’t bother. I don’t want a president who won’t even TRY to sway a few votes with a GOOD plan of recovery (which, btw, I heard nothing about… McCain/Palin were all about the same tired and failed R policies of “tax cuts for the rich” instead of really getting their hands dirty with a solid and actionable plan).

Wasn’t it McCain who wanted to steer away from discussions on the economy? Well, here in MI, the economy is the ONLY thing that matters. Not their stupid, ill-conceived war, not their hostile comments towards Obama, nothing. We are SUFFERING and we look to a leader for hope, rescue and recovery, not some old guy saying he would give tax cuts to the rich when the middle class is largely unemployed here. It’s PROVEN… those tax cuts DON’T create or save JOBS!

Third, Palin probably thought she could rally the R’s here. While the state is largely D, we do have pockets of conservative majority. Grand Rapids, a large city in W. Michigan, is one of them. Portage is very nearby. While I despise her and can’t stand a single thing about her, at least she wanted to VISIT us! But in the end, SHE didn’t count. It was McCain – the PRESIDENTIAL candidate that mattered.

The Track connection to MI is pretty much benign to those of us here. Big deal. He came, played hockey, and left. I don’t see a huge connection of Michigan to scandal.

That is, unless anyone agrees that the way Palin kids seem to “disappear” on a regular basis is abnormal and indicative of a bigger back story. Bristol was missing in action for MONTHS when sent away to live with her aunt in … Juneau? Anchorage? Track comes to MICHIGAN to play hockey? Huh?

Why would Bristol and Track BOTH be sent away to live with others when they have such an extraordinary, loving, stable, supportive family in Wasilla?

And all before graduating High School? I can’t imagine NOT being under my parent’s roof in HS, unless it was a “Semester Abroad” type of program, sponsored by the school. These absences were odd in and of themselves.

How does a kid keep up/graduate when they are uprooted and shuttled between several schools for short periods of time?

  41. Gemini says:

    I’m with samper (#42) …

My first reaction when the news broke was that Bristol was pregnant, her mother was running for President (really!), and Sarah either grabbed the first guy she could find to stand in as the father, or forced Levi (as the actual father) to enter the marriage route scene (nice to have money and power when trying to coerce someone into something they may not want to agree with). Never did I believe that those two youngsters were seriously considering marrying.

Could be wrong, but have to disagree, though, with that ‘Trig is Bristol’s baby’ thing. The pregnancy was strange in many ways … especially keeping it secret for so long, but somehow I doubt that Bristol would have had a baby and within a few months decided to expose herself to possibly a second pregnancy.

So … either Levi is not the father, or he is but had no intentions of being married to Bristol.

Although I dislike and disrespect Palin, I’m a little surprised that so many people seem to perceive Levi Johnston and/or his family in a better light. To me, both families are disfunctional and … well … a step above trashy maybe, although not necessarily ‘poor.’ Of course, some of my opinions about Levi are derived from his facebook (or was it myspace) notations before they were taken off the web, as well as most of his really rather dumb comments in his interviews.

I am glad he is going for a book deal we will see what is said.He has to watch what he says because of his son and if he will ever get to see him again if he tells all and there is anything to tell,I always thought the kids should be left alone but his ex took the first step and put herself in the spotlight So now Bristol has to face what she has done and hopefully she will think of her son and his future and not worry about her mother and what she wants or plans to do

  43. curiouser says:

With all the speculation about babygate, why wouldn’t AKM (or one of the other AK bloggers in the know) just say, “Hey folks, it’s not about babygate”?

I hope the media tease about Levi’s story isn’t just to keep Palin in line until after the trial and the custody settlement, and then to have Palin put a gag order on the Johnstons. Since Palin hates those nasty strings, it would sure be wrong for her to try to attach any to Levi’s custody arrangement.

Levi and his family need to be helping raise both Tripp and Trig. It’s so obvious how much they love the boys. And it’s important for the story to be told to inform voters and financial contributors that they have been deceived big time. Time to resign, GINO. You might be surprised at how pleasant it can be living with one less big lie.

And good wishes to the Johnstons. I hope Levi gets to write a bestselling book. And what ever happened with the screenwriter who was interested in doing a movie from Levi’s perspective?

Also too: a former Juneau hockey coach told me that Track was a brilliant hockey player – but he started so many fights, he spent most of his time on the bench, which made Track even madder. He said he was so ‘out of control’ that he was sent away. I have also heard that Track had a choice of going into the Army or going to a juvenile detention center. Track is listed as a graduate of Wasilla HS.

When Palin was campaigning in 2006 she always referred to Track as being ‘away at a hockey camp/school in the L48.’

Methinks this young man is a mystery…

  47. EatWildFish says:

“I am Alaska” for Palin’s book title – too funny AKM!

  56. Dame says:

Grover, you might want to look back on some of the really old posts from Palin Deceptions, it was discussed there also, too.

  57. I am very glad that the Alaskan blogging community has now finally taken matters into their own hands regarding “babygate” – with Gryphen having taken the lead. Sarah Palin thankfully so far is only an Alaskan problem, and I think that it’s only right that Alaskans themselves take the initiative. This would send a strong and positive message into the world and would prove that democracy is still functioning very well on a local level and that bloggers now play an incredibly important role.

Sarah Palin can then spend the rest of their days being a rich (and disgraced) housewife. Levi can write his book, which is only fair. Bristol will suddenly be no princess any more, which will be good for her in the end. The Palin family finally will have the chance to face the truth about themselves, and hopefully they will be able to “work it out” and become a “normal” famliy, leaving all the lies and the insanity behind.

It was (and still is) incredibly courageous from Gryphen to start his own investigations into babygate. I know that his courage will be rewarded in the end, and I hope that Gryphen and his fellow Alaskan bloggers will join forces and strike with an unified and decisive move, once enough material has been collected. This would open a new chapter in the “history of blogging” and could be a model for many citizen bloggers in the future.

  59. Grover says:

@ 52 Janet – I don’t have anything bookmarked about Track, just what I read here and there. If I remember correctly, after the schoolbus incident Track went somewhere in Michigan to play hockey, injured himself, and then enlisted. I remember Googling Track and Michigan early on and not finding anything, and I’ve always wondered with whom did Track stay? Michigan went for Obama, but McCain’s decision to avoid the state seemed to come about quite suddenly (he’d have had the state pretty much to himself as I don’t believe some/many/any of the Dems visited due to the snafu with the too early primary date), and GINO was quite vocal about wanting to campaign in Michigan and McCain & Co. not letting her.

Yes the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it? It is especially Hilarious on her “abstinence” stance that before the RNC did scrub, rinse, repeat in Alaska on her myspace, she self described herself as “a slut”.
They are maliciously accusing Levi of using fame etc. and he is not even getting paid, for the interviews they accused him. Probably the GQ, but hey a guys gotta earn a living.
The whole family are grifters…and they are about to go down.
Note the Headline in Dennis’s “Blurb” says “Palin’s” plural, meaning all of them. House of cards? Now what do you think that means?
There is just so much grifting going on in Wasilla. 5 out of 7 just stepped down from a committee b/c of the grifting in Wasilla, the one who did the grifting was a Wasilla Bible church friend of GINO.
Whole house of cards. Remember that.
This will be BIG. And I wouldn’t be surprised if she bows out of the NY thing. She has to know its coming. That’s why she didn’t go to the other stuff, I’m sure.
The honest ones in Wasilla, have got to be pretty sick of all the lies.

I am one that believe that Trig is Bristol’s baby. It is so ironic that in light of the bizarre circumstances of his birth and the fact Palin was back at work only a few days afterwards, and no one applauded her for her dedication to her job. It amazes me that not one Govenor in attendance at the event that Palin spoke at when only a few hours from delivering, not one has said a word about that night…and pictures of the event have been removed! If Levi does not expose the truth to this story, you can rest assure any govenor that will run will allow the truth to leak. The plot thickens!

  65. Grover says:

Might Levi be able to shed some light on Track’s stay in Michigan? I can understand folks in Wasilla not talking about Track, but nobody in Michigan saying anything? Also, too, wondering if the Track situation was discovered (like everything else) after selecting GINO, and that was why the McCain campaign pulled out of Michigan and why GINO was so eager to campaign in that state? 68. samper says:

Palinsucks: I’m not saying that Levi wasn’t genuine. I should have made that more clear.

I agree… Bristol and Sarah were BOTH using him. Bristol for whatever a 17/18 year old pregnant girl wants and Sarah for the appearance of a happy and thoughtful teen COUPLE during the pregnancy. After all, how would it “look” if Levi didn’t accompany his bride to be to the “most important” event of her family’s life?

The “go and behave” comments were more akin to “Don’t show up with a sour face because you are angry that you aren’t out hunting. There is a price to pay for knocking up my daughter and this is it. Look happy and loving, dammit!”

Bottom line, though, is that while he probably had his heart in the right place, the Palins FORCED him to cut short a hunting trip for THEIR photo op. And those that followed.

Your ‘short hairs’ comment makes me just burst out laughing! My very exemplary mother used to use that phrase; she had three brothers.

I have sympathy for Ms. Johnston re: her physical trauma, which I learned from one of the brilliant links left by one of our intertubes-savvy mudpups. Constant pain is no joke and her condition seems to be very difficult, if it is true.

I do believe that whatever is coming out (There is a Keith? What about the other daugher? Brother of whom by whom?) may be more explosive that we could ever imagine. It’s humbling to think that you may have never heard it all.

  72. PalinSucks says:

samper, I think Levi, was sincere. He was expecting a marriage, a wife, a baby. He was being played by Bristol. Bristol, used him, lead him on, she wanted out of her parents house & knocked up she was on her way until she was reeled back in when the RNC pageant started.

Bristol, is showing herself to be an ignorant, malicious, fame seeker like her mom.

Palin, is surely threatening the boy BUT he is no longer alone. With Rex on their team & America throwing rotten eggs at the tabloid whoring the Palin’s are doing, Levi, is safer leaking birth pictures of TriGG & him and letting his sister loose every once in awhile to rattle the cages.

  74. samper says:

    to “Say No…”

I remember a while back that Levi said that he was hunting, got a call to appear for the Queen and had to cut his trip short to go to the convention.

He told them he didn’t want to, but they DEMANDED that he go. Go and BEHAVE. Go and behave like an ADORING BOYFRIEND who was going to marry Bristol in the summer.

I never for a minute thought they’d marry. Not for a minute. It was absolutely laughable to me. That they “broke” up a short while after Tripp was born was of absolutely no surprise to me and seemed like it was planned prior… Wait until the baby is born, wait a respectable amount of time after, and then announce the break up.

It’s a bad movie gone wrong.

Saint Sarah will say she did save Trig from abortion. She’ll say she told her daughter that if she had the baby Sarah would say she was the mother and she would raise it as her own and no one would have to know it was Bristol’s. That will explain away all of the lies and deceit.

And the fact that Sarah was really saving her own political career from being a fundie with either an unwed daughter who had an abortion or an unwed daughter who had a baby when she was 16 (or 17?) will play well to her base. Because they’ll believe anything and they’ll twist it until it supports their beliefs about her.

  99. mlaiuppa says:

Let’s say for argument’s sake that Trig is Levi and Bristol’s first son. At this point I just don’t see that hurting Palin all that much. She’ll have plenty of time to put her people on spinning her as the protective Mommy/Martyr/Saint protecting her daughter. All of her lies will be dismissed as a necessary evil to protect Bristol. In 18 months she can be turned into Mother Teresa and it will all be old enough news not to matter that much.

    2. Because Palin may be using Sherry’s plea deal to muzzle the Johnstons.

Personally, I don’t see Palin as the sort that would let anyone have anything they could hang over her….and live.

I see her somehow getting the upper hand and then making sure all parties involved paid and paid dearly. Starting with Sherry, since she’s the one being sentenced very soon.

  112. Martha Unalaska Yard Sign says:

Somehow I think because SP is such a poster child for the tabloids, it makes one want to see her “go down” for something that, under different circumstances, would never be considered a real danger. At the time, Alaskans could not have cared less if the baby was really hers.

She would have been forgiven a hundred times over, with a little grumbling here and there, but she would have been scot-free to continue her under-the-radar approach to scorched Alaska politics and beyond. But whoever said this woman could think her way out of a paper bag? Why do you think she can’t listen to advisers?
