Palin on Tonight Show – Actually Funny

Sarah Palin was featured in a skit on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He played Vladimir Putin, and she played herself. And it’s actually really funny. After all she put us through, she owes us a smile every once in a while. Enjoy!

  2. St.Elias says:

We get our TV via satellite. As part of our monthly package we receive a DISH Entertainment Magazine. This month they have a short hype on Pallin. Apparently she is going to be doing interviews on the Sportmans Channel’s “Red, Wild and Blue” with something called “Amazing America With Sarah Palin”. During a press tour one reporter attempted to ask her some question regarding Fox News’ Roger Ailes. She replied. “I think bogus questions like that are a waste of time.”

I thought, “Bogus Question”? and this from the gal who invented bogus “Death Panels” to the future detriment of poor souls involved in seeking medical advice.

  3. aaqooauk says:

grizzlies are very smelly, now put sarahs face on a smelly animal, and her pimp husbands arse in the rear, what do you have, two smelly grifters into one smelly animal

  4. aaqooauk says:

no wad the purse handler, earning his famly postage

  5. mike from iowa says:

@ Shane Holt(above)- Alaskardashian is human? Herpes. Not virulent enough to kill anyone, yet. But certainly annoying as hell when it returns, regular as clockwork, to remind everyone of Sinator John McCain’s everlasting shame of infecting rill ‘merica with this……..thing.

  6. Lisa says:

Sarah’s always been good at mocking herself. Fun lady. And Karen above, dude, you need to get laid. Trig is literally the most loved child in the world.

    • mike from iowa says:

Trig is literally the most loved child in the world. Okay,Sport. Prove it.

  7. mike from iowa says:

I officially claim to be the very first person to deliberately(with malice and aforethought) not watch Snooki’s latest excuse for reality telly.

    • Alaska Pi says:

So I finally deliberately (with malice and aforethought) watched the clip.
It is funny in a Putin-sucks-more-than-whatzername-so-why-not-make-fun-of-him sort of way.
RipleyinCT is right though- all the ooky body language we grew to barf over is there .
The self satisfied smirk features prominently. Bleah.

  8. Carol says:

I would read a transcript, but I will not listen to that woman’s voice. Glad it was entertaining, but I will forgo
    that entertainment.

  9. Bubbles says:

I absolutely refuse to give this malignant woman a hearing on any subject. She has done too much harm to too many people. I am sick to death of these right wing assholes. Plain is miserable excuse for a human being.

  10. AlaskanLady says:

That was pretty cute. She is never in Alaska any more so I am glad she won’t be filming here and making an ass out of our home state.

  11. Cathy Heyworth Harris says:

She seems to be learning ….what, I don’t know.

    • Lisa says:

      ???

How is acting in a skit learning? She’s not stupid. Keep in mind that the current President cannot speak off the cuff about anything and his VP doesn’t know basic history.

WE all have our strengths. And biases.

Sarah’s a fun woman, whom people naturally like. I recall people in the Valley saying that she was much “cooler” pre-fame. But life goes on. Mature people don’t judge people who grow past small town life. It’s not like she’s not Alaskan.

      • slipstream says:

Except for the part about living in Arizona.

        • RipleyInCT says:

this is why I am a part of this community 😀 Thank you Slipstream.

        • Alaska Pi says:

          slip- 🙂
          like 10K times

        • Zyxomma says:

… and coming from Idaho, also, too.

        • Kate says:

          lol

SOOOO, every Alaskan resident with homes in Arizona (and there are a lot) aren’t Alaskan?

you mean the pictures of her regularly attending her daughter’s sporting events are to be ignored? The fact that she has 2 kids in Alaskan schools means nothing?

Grow up. She sometimes travels for work. Millions do. I don’t see you criticizing them.

          • mike from iwa says:

            It has a job?

          • mike from iowa says:

It has a job? Really? Who does she work for? And don’t give me this bullshit she works for the ‘murrican people. She wasn’t elected, selected, annointed, crowned, honored by decree or anything else. She is a self-important boor with a high opinion of herself not matched by her ridiculous word salad. Kiss her arse if you like. I don’t have to. Have a nice day.

          • AlaskaCodPiece says:

$creech Paylin (R-Facebook) has not applied for a PFD for about four years, attesting to the fact that she lives in AZ and only travels to Alaska for phony photo opps. Note that Todd and all other family members, except Bristol and Track, are on record as getting PFDs.

Kids in school in AK? No sightings of any Palins have been made for several years, in an elementary school or church, for that matter, in AK or AZ. $arah only appears at tightly scripted and controlled events. She is always frightened and on edge and has no friends.

      • mike from iowa says:

Oh fer pity’s sake,if her heinie was rill ‘laskan she would be dubbed Alaskan Snowdrift Snookie-similar to Alaskan Sow Brown Bear or Alaskan King Crab. But, she ain’t.

  12. Jeanne Devon says:

I’m just so used to her being actively abrasive and malevolent, I found it amusing.

    • Forty Watt says:

      I did too. 😀

    • Lisa says:

I think it’s you who is malevolent. Sure, Sarah has a sharp tongue on tv, but she a very funny person and easy to like.

      • Alaska Pi says:

        Oh Pffft!
Tell that all to Mr Thoma who became the unwitting recipient of the “very funny person and easy to like” routine when he brought up his very real concerns about tourist bus traffic in his neighborhood.
Ole whatzername made a personal vendetta routine out of it.
Come to think of it, she did something similar to Lyda Green, Mr Wooten, and a large number of other folks during her half -term term.
We Alaskans all know she has a certain kind of charisma, at certain times, in certain circumstances (after all 48% of us thought she’d be a great governor -not me) but ya know, after a couple years that just wasn’t enough to offset the other side of her personality. The mean girl stuff , nasty, snarky, and vindictive , got very old, as did her truth challenged crap about so many things.

        • RipleyInCT says:

PI, that’s the resident troll of the Palin Defense Fund. I’m shocked she would actually comment on this blog. AKM, keep watch.

Also, that nasty, snarky mean-girl thing starts at the exact moment they show her “answering” her phone (I did peek at the very beginning). It’s that run-the-tongue-along-the-bottom-teeth with disdain thing she does. All. The. Time. Like she’s just so put out. Talk about a narcissist.

          • Alaska Pi says:

Oh. Do you mean the illegal defense fund? The one which smeared Alaska along with anybody and everything which questioned ole whatzername?
I still say she can be charismatic in her own way- but Jim Jones and David Koresh were too- in their own way, eh? 😉
Also, too, I well remember the whispers-from-Wasilla cautioning Alaskans about accepting her at face value during the gubernatorial campaign and Mr Halcro’s astute observations about her ability to work a gathering /crowd/meeting . She’s got skills and she’s not stupid but being clever, sly, manipulating, and vindictive doesn’t doesn’t raise her to any heights of fabulousity either. On the contrary, rilly.

            • Kate says:

You just described EVERY politician. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Republican. Green. Democrat. EVERY ONE

How would you feel if there were people spreading lies about you and your family? Sure, she can handle it if she endures it, but what do you think of THOSE people, who spread the lies?

Rumormongers in small towns will always exist, yes. But people’s defense of them just because they dislike the subject is immoral.

              • Alaska Pi says:

                Oh get over yourself.
No, I did not describe every single politician. I described whatzername.
I don’t talk about whatzername’s family, I don’t talk about her kids, I don’t speculate about her hairdo, clothes, or marriage. I also ignore what friends and family say about those things to the point of walking away from those conversations.
So get off that horse, eh?
I DO talk about her politics, I do talk about her public attitude, and public persona and I will continue to do so.
And be danged sure about this- you have no idea what I meant about the whispers-from-Wasilla. You decided it was crap about her family and her personal self. You.
Howz about asking what I meant before you shoot your mouth off about a scenario you made up ?
Your phony moral outrage ? Pfft!

          • Kate says:

You seem to be the only mean person. Your demeanor here is DARK.

I personally can back what Lisa wrote.

            • Alaska Pi says:

I am a very dark, dangerously dark, personality 😉
And I don’t give a rat’s patoot about what you and “Lisa” say or think about whatzername.
I know some folks I like very much who totally suck at their jobs.
              whatzername sucked at being governor.
AND she did some very nasty things , in public, to a number of folks. nasty and unprofessional.
She insulted my state senator when he left to take a job with the feds, she played real live games with re-appointing his successor, to the point that 1- the Rs in the State Senate were upset along with the Ds and 2- that we sat without representation for an entire session. 17,000+ Alaskans went without representation for a whole damn session while she tooted around trying to appoint people we didn’t ask for, didn’t want, and the like.
In a representative democracy leaving folks without representation to play games is disgusting. No input on the budget , no voice on important legislation,no frickin voice at all in the State Senate. whatzername acted like a brat through the whole thing which added to the disgust I still feel over that.
              Yup. Dark and mean.
I damn well expect hired politicos , especially those who are always tooting about the lil folks , to do their jobs properly, within the rules, and in a timely manner.
whatzername failed, failed, failed on that one.

        • RipleyInCT says:

        • Really? says:

          Alaska Pi, Like.

( Was’nt the vote 48% of the 27% of Alaskan voters who voted that day? )

  13. Moles says:

I must be losing my sense of humor. I found it about as funny as a heart attack.

    • Anon says:

I couldn’t figure out what she was doing with her mouth – besides sucking on something as usual…
But the way she kept fidgeting in the chair – must be some breath-mint to do that – lap-dance in a chair…

    • Anon says:

with all that fidgeting in the chair I wonder what she was on…

      • mike from iowa says:

        Pssst-Red Bull and chutzpah……Tranquility Base…..the ego has landed. :0

        • Alaska Pi says:

          the ego has landed… ??!!!!
          best of the week, mikey!!!!!!!!!!!
          maybe of the year

          • mike from iowa says:

Pi and RipleyinCT, Last weekend with GD molly from iowa was a re-awakening for me. Finally getting back to wingnut bashing form. Having good people contribute, especially on weekends, is a pretty good antidote to mikey’s malaise. Let’s run these posers way down South where they belong. 🙂 🙂 Like for both of you.

  14. Renee says:

I listened, but could not bring myself to look at the screen. I didn’t find it funny. It seemed strained, and just another platform for her to mock our President. Oh, and yes, an opportunity to shill for her next stupid “reality” show.

    • RipleyInCT says:

I cannot agree more about not watching her because of her incessant screeching about President Obama. She riles up the dangerous morons of society whenever she opens her maw. I won’t watch it. You can’t make me!

  15. Zyxomma says:

I don’t watch late night TV; it’s rarely funny. I was not at all amused by this. It was just a plug for her new TV show. If that’s what Tonight is like these days, you can keep it. Not interested, not amused, not entertained.

  16. Mag the Mick says:

She’s actually kinda cute when she’s relaxed and not trying to prove political points. Maybe she really does have a future as a talk show host.

    • mike from iowa says:

Thankx to you and Pi for the lovely hail, sleet and foot plus of wet, heavy snowman snow overnight. I was gonna have garden tilled and start planting spuds and onions next week. I guess we needed the moisture. 🙂 🙂 🙂

      • Alaska Pi says:

Oh I would never do that to you mikey! not when you are about ready to plant spuds! never, ever,
my spuds are due in next 10 days and I’m dusting off my spud fairy cape to make deliveries to gardeners and special gardens 🙂
I love this time of year 🙂
        Mag-
Folk Festival starts Monday. We will miss you.

I’m holding off on watching the whatzername dealie. Not up to it today. Maybe tomorrow, maybe not…

        • mike from iowa says:

You make such a remarkable spud fairy,I’m guessing. Heard that first Decorah eaglet popped out Wednesday. Past mikey’s beddy bye time. 🙂

        • Mag the Mick says:

Thanks for the shout-out, Pi. I saw a copy of this year’s poster for the Alaska Folk Festival, by Ray Troll. It is fantastic. I am gobsmacked to think it is the Festival’s 40th anniversary. I was at # 8 in 1981. If you tuned my heart, it would resonate to the Alaska Folk Festival.

          • Alaska Pi says:

I totally understand that heart thing. The Alaska Folk Festival Is an indispensable part of spring to me, every bit as important as dusting off my spud fairy cape , my windowsills full of seedlings, and my daily routine of poking sticks in the soil to see how far thawing has come along.

The first Folk Festival was held in the Alaska State Museum. This year we said goodbye to the old facility with a Final Friday which included a jam by local musicians to celebrate that part of the facility’s history in our community –

            http://juneauempire.com/local/2014-03-02/photos-final-friday#.U0AIHaKBnbw

Funny how the jam worked out. The first couple hours was heavy with us oldsters and the last couple was heavy with the younger folk who have enlivened and enriched the musical traditions of the Festival in recent years.
Of course Bob and Pat played all evening 🙂

            • Mag the Mick says:

Pi, I remember when Bob Banghart had a full head of curly black hair! How fitting for him and Pat Henry to play the old place out. For all the rest of you, the Alaska Folk Festival is not just about a week of free public concerts. It’s a family reunion, a high school homecoming, and the folky equivalent of Rock and Roll Heaven, all mixed together with unending seriously good music and epic sleep deprivation. One of my best memories is of all us Alaskan Irish musicians arriving at the bar of the Alaska Hotel over a period of two or three hours, and of everyone getting a standing ovation as each of us arrived. Tunes drew us together, but our hearts were already there.

    • Lisa says:

That’s definitely the Sarah everyone loves and knows. I think she was guided in so many different directions and used by people that she’s gotten lost in the past. Sarah’s a very sweet and caring person. Most of all naturally funny.

      • mike from iowa says:

Yah,dem sow grizzlies dey be a riot, shur’nuf. Nacheral comedic timing, too. Oh look, there’s a cute reindeer, honey. BANG! Still there, BANG! Still there. GANG BANG!! Still there, damn liberal, F%^#$ing commie rat bastard deer!! Can’t grill it til it dies of old age. I can’t believe you people would allow me to fail on national teevee on my own show. I hate everyone of you. I’m the victim here,F#$k that deer,I demand blood and an apology. Somebody kill that snarky liberal mangy animal so I can eat its heart and show everyone what happens when they cross the wicked witch of Winslow or where ever it is I live. I quit!! I didn’t say I quit. You took that out of context. See,people always trying to make me look bad. Blah,Blah,Blah.

Gotta hand it to her. Preferably in cash.
