Take Back the Senate, Alaska!
Remember the good old days of the Senate Bipartisan working group, where legislators from both parties chaired committees, and worked together to accomplish things? Divisive wedge issues were shelved, and the Senate work was focused on things we could do together. Back then the fringe group of Republicans who refused to work with Democrats formed their own minority and sat in the corner snapping blue crayons and not doing any work.
Well, Sean Parnell got his way after new district lines were drawn and we ended up with one party in control of the Senate and the House, and they have had a field day ushering in some really bad legislation. The pouters in the corner are now running the show.
The good news is that the lines have been redrawn again, and now we stand a good chance of getting back to a legislature that sees fit to work together for the good of the state, instead of one-party rule, and kowtowing to the oil companies and the governor.
So, what can you do to help?

Vote, vote, vote, vote, vote!!! Every election, primary and general, every year. If you don’t vote, how about you don’t get to complain about election results?
Don’t fret about pfd funds,Shane Troll. If whitey wingnuts keeps winning they will donate all pfd to big awl w/o any whiny input from you. Shane Pavlov starts salivating and peeing his britches at the mention of Snowgrift Snoozie.
Best of luck!
Go Ross and Crawford!
We really, really need to get a true bi-partisan Senate again.
A bi-partisan House (ain’t gonna happen) would be lovely also, too, but we could do quite well with only a bipartisan majority working group in the state Senate.
If we get that and the unity ticket for Gov- jeez- we might even get some real stuff done!
Take back all three and send some warm air. It is freakin’ chilly here. Brrrrrrr!!! 35 thousand walrusses just hauled up on my yard looking for taters.
You just move to western Alaska, mikey, or just some more of that crazy Iowa weather there? π
We had snow down to 1800 ft- real snow, not termination dust- a couple days ago.
Has warmed up and is raining sideways today.
Garden is almost ready for winter here. lots of green stuff like kale still going- need to throw row cover on it before we freeze again this coming week.
I’ve signed up for so (too) many volunteer hours in campaign offices for October I’m not sure I’ll be doing much else.
Sure hope we win some dang races- I’m getting too old to keep saying oh-well-next-time-perhaps…
that poor shaneholt person just doesn’t read for comprehension, eh?
just always pops out with some ding bird crack that has some kind of passing resemblance to a thought
