Open Thread – The Alaska Highway

It’s a new year and so I figured it’s time to bring back the weekly open thread posts. I want to know from everyone what their New Year’s resolution is – and how long they think they will last. My resolution is to stop spending all my extra money on camera gear and related accessories. I’m betting I’ll last a month.

Completely unrelated to my question, here’s a fun video I found a while back discussing the creation of the Alaska Highway. January 4th, 2 years ago I was driving this highway during the Polar Vortex, shockingly I survived without an incident thanks to my trusty Subaru.

Mike from Iowa: You seem desperate for attention. I’m sure that there are people out there, somewhere, who would be willing to give it to you. However, your comments are really irrelevant and you should be aware that you are only advertising what a f**l you are.

Planned Parenthood files suit in Federal Court today against Center for Medical Progress. I can smell blood already.

Ain’t it about time for some world famous stick figures and the real story behind the grifter’s newest Grandkid? iowa is so boring w/;o luscious home made Alaska stick figure stew with a twist. Not to be a spoil sport.but since Dad was a Marine i’d think Jarhead or Leatherneck would have a been a good baby name.

    “How do we fix this?”

I have no ideas yet- am still getting used to the idea that folks can continue to FULLY ignore comparative risks like this- completely flippin ignore the data .

(I know I do alright in general but am nothin special in the brain dept so, jeez and dadgum- when I look brilliant the world is in deep trouble and I’ve been pointing to 20000+/year firearm deaths as unacceptable for a long time)

I don’t make resolutions. I do, however, set intentions, and my intention for 2016 is to earn enough money to be free of debt. Happy New Year, and welcome back to the open thread!

I’m excited that row 7 of the periodic table of the elements is now full. Hooray for synthetic elements!
