Lizz Winstead Takes on Hobby Lobby
From the Daily Show and Air America’s Lizz Winstead:
So the Green family, billionaire owners of Hobby Lobby, a Christian Craft store (whatever THAT means), don’t want to cover certain birth control options in their employee healthcare plan because Jesus, or something.
In fact, this brood are so rich they just paid millions to take their fight to keep ignoring science all the way to the Supreme Court.
Yep, this is what passes for democracy in 2014.
Today, the Supreme Court of the United States will hear Hobby Lobby v. Sebilius, and these dangerous religious gajillionaires will argue their corporation has the constitutional right to make medical decisions for its employees, using their interpretation of the Bible as the ONLY guiding medical principal.
No, I am not sh**ting you.
If the Supreme Court agrees with them, the biblical floodgates will open and wash away civil rights as we know it.
Watch the video- then ask yourself, “What’s to stop it from heading down this slippery slope?”
Answer: You. Support Lady Parts Justice so we can relentlessly use humor to expose and shame these crackpots who continue to gain power because we were not paying attention.
Any chance the Hobby Lobby made the crucifix Linda Blair masturbated with in the Exorcist? No idea what Hobby Lobby sells. Don’t care, either.
This is scary than I can even really wrap my ‘arms around’. Something tells me to prepare myself for much disappointment.
How I wish this were funny.
It is funny in a I’ll-barf-if-I-don’t-find-some-humor-in-this-somehow kind of way.
Especially after reading the news reports of the SCOTUS hearing on it all.

Oh Yarg! I AM gonna be sick… back later…
http://docs.lakotalaw.org/Abandoned-and-Forgotten.pdf Yikes!
That whole mess breaks my heart. It further breaks my heart coming from a state whose Senator of the time was the primary sponsor of the ICWA- a much needed federal law. The state here is still trying to fight ICWA too but , so far, nothing as sickening as the Mette case.
