The United Auto Workers and the SEIU picked up Greg Palast’s Nation story on Mitt making bank from the US Auto bailout that he claimed to hate. Since my editor here at the Mudflats allowed me some time off from my job as Mudflats NY Bureau Chief to research this story with Palast – I figured that all the mudpuppies would like to hear to that there’s going to be a press conference in Ohio that should make a big hit in that swing state – and the nation. When video is available – I’ll post… until then – watch the…

This is really more like a bag of Halloween goodies than an oyster platter. Enjoy! Quote of the Week: “Please, I’m begging you. Go vote for this guy. He’s awesome!” ~Bob Lester of the Bob & Mark Show on KWHL about State Senate candidate Ron Devon. Party’s Over! Remember the breathless complaint that was filed against Senator Hollis French, and Putting Alaskans First? The Party Planner was all in a tizzy because they used the same APOC savvy bookkeeper, and the same production company to do their commercials. Ergo, they must be in cahoots and illegally coordinating the two campaigns,…

Editor’s Note: The Mudflats team has been reporting on a developing story here in Anchorage (LINK, LINK) . Zach Roberts, whose journalistic efforts on this topic have been recognized on a national level has this piece cross-posted at TruthOut.org. ********************* In audio obtained from a Family Council fundraiser in Anchorage, Alaska, Truthout has learned that a number of right-wing religious groups, including Focus on the Family, have been working with the Koch brothers to target voters across the country using their multimillion-dollar voter database known as Themis. At a fundraiser held at the Anchorage Middle Eastern restaurant Aladdin’s last week,…

With only 13 days left until the election, we sit glued to the TV watching swing state polls, national trends, and of course the slugfests we call “debates.” We’re spending a lot of time guessing where people will put their votes, and analyzing what campaigns are getting whose money. And yet with all the political speculation, nobody has asked the question – who are we putting in our pants? Sure, people are willing to wear t-shirts with one-liners like: “I’d rather vote for the mormon than the moron” or “Romney for President – of the Cayman Islands” But who gets…

It’s time for another chilled plate of delectable goodies from the week. Let’s start off with a true story that happened right after last week’s roundup. Picture me sitting on the couch on a Saturday afternoon, minding my own business, and drinking a cup of coffee. Let’s watch… Knock, Knock! Who’s there? The mailman with a certified letter from Austin McDaniel! Austin McDaniel, who? Austin McDaniel, Governor Sean Parnell’s social media coordinator sending a copy of an APOC complaint to senate candidate Ron Devon! Nope, not kidding. That was my Saturday. So, what’s up with that? When people donate to…

Not THAT Romney – one of his five sons. The one that’s named like a Palin. In an interview with North Carolina radio host Bill Lumaye on Wednesday, Mitt Romney’s son Tagg said that he wanted to “rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at” President Barack Obama during last night’s presidential debate… Interesting that the “family values” candidate’s son’s first response to hearing his dad get called on not telling the truth was rush the stage and deck the President of the United States. Quite the model citizen. Luckily for him, the First Son wannabe thought better of assaulting the leader…

Here we go again. Tie reversal! Obama in red, Mitt in blue. Jobs: Uh-oh, it’s likeable Mitt again. Romney said “I know what it takes” four times when the college student asked about jobs. But never said what it actually takes. Obama mentions Romney outsourcing jobs, talks about renewable energy, war, deficits, – throwing everything at it. Mitt is hitting Obama on his record. He’s had a chance, etc. Talking about his five point plan. Talking about having Detroit into bankruptcy BUT have them come out stronger than before. Accused Obama of making Detroit bankrupt in the first place. Obama…

Ever get that feeling that something happening to you right now is also something that has happened to you before? It’s agonizing, as you attempt and fail to put your finger on the memory, hidden deep within your cranium, behind the thought of an almost forgotten relative or a previous place of residence. You think: “Where have I seen this before? Iknow I’ve been here.” But it doesn’t come to you. It’s like the echo of a chorus to an annoyingly ambiguous song, violently stuck in your head – staying just far enough inside the shadows that you can’t mentally Shazam…

It’s just me this time. And I’m sort of doing a stealth ninja blogging of the VP debate. Hopefully this will keep our server up and humming along happily, and not crashing from traffic. Feel free to chime in down there in the comment section, and make it a party! Buckle up, Mudflatters… It’s gaffe-prone Uncle Joe vs. the smug Punk Upstart. Let’s hope this one is better than the last. Get your popcorn, wine box, pillow, helmet, and whatever baked goods will get you through the next hour and a half. Let’s get ready to rumble! ************************************* 5:01pm –…

If the Tea Party has its way, you’ll be getting a call soon, because you simply have not been told the truth about the real Obama. Oh, yeah. Don’t you kid yourself. The lamestream media has been at it again, covering up, and whitewashing critical information to allow their Kenyan messiah to dismantle our liberties, use the Constitution to line the bottom of their bird cages, and turn the whole country over to their secret overlords at the United Nations. The Tea Party has been hard at work sending out blast emails. I know this because I get them. I…
