Sarah Palin and the Long, Shiny Road to Irrelevance

Sarah Palin is not running for the presidency. I’d been waiting to hear that since the day after the 2008 presidential election, which is ostensibly when she began running for the presidency. From the moment she “went rogue” on the campaign trail, calling out then-candidate Obama for “pallin’ around with terrorists,” and contemplating an unauthorized trip back to Michigan to try to win a state that the McCain campaign had given up on, she had ideas and plans of her own. She lamented in her book Going Rogue that the campaign had shackled her. Why couldn’t they just “let Sarah…

P-Day: Sarah Palin One Year Later

You gotta love John Ziegler (above getting punked by Mudflats mascot Brian the Moose).  One year ago today, Sarah Palin was foisted on the unsuspecting public in a mavericky move to top all previous mavericky moves by Senator John McCain, and John Ziegler begame her super dooper #1 fan, happily devoting his life to ride shot-gun in her race to oblivion. After seeing him in person at the screening of his puff-umenatry film on Sarah Palin called Media Malpractice: How Obama got Elected and Palin was Targeted, I left wondering how the half-full theatre in Anchorage Alaska could actually manage to…

Ziegler’s Folly II – UPDATED With Letterman’s Response to Palin Joke Kerfuffle

Ah, that’s our Ziggy. Contessa Brewer at MSNBC had John Ziegler on today to discuss David Letterman’s tasteless jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter. He, apparently had a different agenda. He seemed more interested in using the time to insult Brewer, rail on MSNBC, whine about the media, jab at Keith Olbermann, and demonstrate for us all “How to Burn Your Bridges and Never Be Invited Back to a Network Ever Again.” Brilliant PR work. This is exactly what he was like during the screening of his documentary here in Anchorage…even to people who were trying to be complimentary…

I Love Myself – A Comedy in Three Acts

The dynamic duo of Phil Munger and Dennis Zaki made quick work of revealing the biggest ego in the biggest state.  Behold the behemoth, over-inflated sense of self worth of John Ziegler.  He’s the guy that made the documentary “Media Malpractice – How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted.”  You can read about my experience at the showing of the film HERE. The tag line on the dvd says “Witness the Death of Journalism.” Well, journalism ain’t dead yet.  The bloggers pull through, and gently guide Ziegler down a damaging path as he reveals the golden, magnificent, puffed-up glory that is…..HIM.  Stomach all…

Ziegler’s Folly

Conservative documentary filmmaker John Ziegler was in town to do a special screening of his new film “Media Malpractice – How Obama Got Elected and Palin was Targeted.” It’s been a while since I infiltrated a Palin event, so I decided to slip in and join the festivities. There seemed to be 300ish people there, I’d guess.  I think they’d been hoping for more, as the theatre was only about half full.  Clearly this was the base.  The base of the base. Bob & Mark of the “Bob & Mark Show” were there as emcees.  Eddie Burke was there too,…
