Half-Term Governor Palin Endorses Half-Wit Donald Trump
Palin endorsement looking to bring in voters with only half a brain. Palin, who MSNBC’s Chuck Todd referred to as, “the woman that used to be the biggest reality star in politics” is set later today to endorse the new biggest reality star in politics, The Donald. Palin, who has been relatively absent from the political scene so far this Presidential campaign season is en route to Iowa to join the Trump campaign around the state. Trump’s campaign released a press release ahead of the 6pm press conference in Iowa calling Palin an “influential conservative.” The Donald was quoted in…
Olbermann on the NFL – FIRE EVERYONE
Man, I miss Keith Olbermann. I know I say this often but it’s moments like this, that one really remembers the old days of MSNBC. Keith would go on a uninterrupted 5 minute rant on something that Bush or Cheney did and it would be glorious. We’d all talk about it on MySpace or on ‘the facebook,’ and then there’d be the inevitable online and print backlash from ‘respectable’ journalists who didn’t like his firebrand ways. Well most of those journalists are out of a job now or working for some think tank figuring out a way to drag us into…
Strange Bedfellows
Let no one say we don’t have range. It’s not every week one is prominently featured on both Daily Kos and Joe Miller’s Restoring Liberty blog. The former gave us some love for the final installment of a certain seasonally themed literary travesty. The latter, though our politics couldn’t be more different, showed some good sportsmanship and humor about having his retirement mistakenly reported on MSNBC.
UPDATE: Zimmerman Not Guilty, Here Are the Responses.
UPDATE: The video below has been circulating on twitter and facebook as African Americans rioting in Miami. IT IS NOT. It’s ironically riots of white people rioting in Vancouver, over the sport hockey. [via The Inquisitor] People outside the courtroom are chanting, “The system failed us – No Justice No Peace!” MSNBC reported there was silence in the courtroom. The NAACP is calling for Civil Rights charges to be brought against Zimmerman. “A jury in Sanford, Florida has found George Zimmerman not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin. “I know I am not alone in my outrage, anger, and heartbreak…
Revolution 2.0 – Where to Get the News from Egypt
The US networks are doing (in my opinion) a terrible job covering the ouster of Morsi in Egypt. From spelling Morsi’s name wrong, to interviewing those who previously supported the dictator Mubarak. This is why I turned off my TV, and tuned in to aljazeera.com. For those that don’t know, there’s an excellent 24-hour live stream on Al Jazeera’s website. I’m sure people have their problems on both the left and the right with me promoting AJ, but compared to the US coverage right now, it’s the gold standard. If you have better or just different news sources, please post them…
Jeremy Scahill takes on Obama Talking Points
Friend of the Mudflats, and Nation contributor Jeremy Scahill went on MSNBC’s The Cycle to discuss Obama’s drone program along with his book and film Dirty Wars. Scahill has spent the past several years investigating drones, private militaries, and US war crimes under both the Bush and Obama administrations. Touré (yes, that’s his only name), ever the defender of all things Obama asked him: “I’m curious, Jeremy, as to how you think we should be doing this, If you were the commander-in-chief entrusted with keeping Americans safe, and your legacy is on the line, and all those sort of things, how…
Watch: Shannyn Moore on MSNBC
Yesterday, the Mudflats’ own Shannyn Moore (TheMudflats.net, Anchorage Daily News and 1020am KOAN) joined the UP With Steve Kornacki panel on MSNBC to talk about guns, Joe Miller, and the future of the Republican Party. Shannyn (as always) kicked ass and took names… one of which was Pat Brady, former Chair of the Illinois Republican Party. Brady tried to say that the Republican Party needed a unifying figure, like the Dems’ Bill Clinton. Shannyn asked the obvious question. Watch Segment Two for the smackdown. http://wp.me/p2dbRK-9RA Here at TheMudflats.net we want to thank the staff at UP with Steve Kornacki for having…
Fun at MSNBC – Shannyn Takes Manhattan and Rachel Bites Brian?!
I got to tag along on a great trip to MSNBC the other day. Shannyn Moore, who was my traveling companion and roomie at the Netroots Nation conference and beyond, was asked to be a guest on Countdown with Keith Olbermann while we were in the Big Apple. So off we went to the studio. It was a huge, beautiful facility, and it was fun listening to Shannyn compare the studios in Anchorage with this one. It was quite amazing and huge. We posed for our photo ID at the entrance, and were escorted upstairs for a quick tour of the…
