OK, you’ve been asking me for years (literally!) now, and I can finally tell you yes! Brian the Moose, our Mudflats mascot has a fan page on Facebook. Brian himself does not have opposable thumbs, or fingers for that matter, so I set it up for him. I’ll be adding pictures and status updates as they are warranted. Right now, there are a few photo albums including Brian with famous persons and politicos, Brian out and about, and special events and holidays. After nearly 300,000 signatures on a letter to MSNBC from the Progressive Change Campaign Committee asking for the return of Keith Olbermann to Countdown, and countless emails, phone calls, and faxes, the response has come. He’ll be back on Tuesday night after a brief suspension. I just received the sad news that we have lost a dear member of our community. Elizabeth van Brooks passed away on October 31, 2010 much too young, at the age of 46. You know her by her frequent comments and contributions using her screen name Letters from Europe. She was a Forum Moderator until she became too ill to continue. Open Thread – Rallies to Restore Sanity
Time to rally! I will be headed out tomorrow at the crack of dawn for a whirlwind trip to D.C. to attend the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear with John Stewart and Steven Colbert, and thousands of their closest friends. I calculated that I’ll be in the air about as long as I’ll be on the ground… BUT, I also calculated that I will remember the rally and the fun long after I forget the heinous travel from Anchorage to D.C. and back, so it will all work out well in the end!
