8:40pm The polls have been closed for 40 minutes. Sitting here at Election Central in Anchorage. No results yet. The place is packed with local and national media. So here are some of the photos from yesterday. The weather was actually good, with a beautiful blue sky. It was a nice gathering and exactly the right length–one hour–so that no one got TOO cold. What a great day. It’s been a whirlwind trip to say the least. Running on no sleep and lots of coffee. Both are catching up to me at the moment but I’ll leave you with one of the many pictures I shot at the rally in DC today. Rally-goers sit on the steps of the Smithsonian Museum. Heading home to Alaska tomorrow morning, and then the final rush to election day!

Open Thread – Boots on the Ground in D.C.
I arrived a little bedraggled, but happy in Washington D.C. tonight. I’m not even pretending to try to adjust to the time difference so tomorrow should be interesting. If you see someone on TV napping in the middle of the mall, it just might be me.
