“Alaska Fund Trust” – It’s the New SarahPAC!
SarahPAC is so….yesterday. All the cool kids are now throwing their hard-earned money to Alaska Fund Trust! Campaign Solutions, the Republican consulting firm running the show at SarahPAC has dropped the PAC like a hot potato “parted ways” with Sarah Palin’s political action committee, whose first financial disclosure we can look forward to in June. This news came the day after an ethics complaint was filed against the governor alleging that the contractual relationship between the Governor and SarahPAC is a violation of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. The group had been working with the Palin operation to raise money for SarahPAC…
Palin’s Legal Defense Fund Has a Milk Moustache.
The amazing shape-shifting, now you see it – now you don’t Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund is coming soon….we think. Last week some guy from Texas started one because Bill O’Reilly said he’d give money to it. Palin mouthpiece Meghan Stapleton was quick to come out with a statement disavowing it, and saying that they wanted nothing to do with this rogue fund, and that everyone should wait for the “official” fund. Then, SarahPAC put up a notice saying “Thanks, but no thanks” to donations, and to wait for the Legal Defense Fund. “At this time, we ask you to…
Palin Administration Responds to Ethics Complaint. Hopes Constituents Will Face “Backlash”.
The official response to the 12th ethics complaint filed against Governor Palin came in the form of a state issued press release. The complaint is referred to as “outrageous.” One thing in the press release was particularly disturbing: Mike Nizich, the governor’s chief of staff [said] “I hope that the publicity-seekers will face a backlash from Alaskans who have a sense of fair play and proportion.” What exactly is the “backlash from Alaskans” that Nizich wishes to be leveled at the private citizens who have filed ethics complaints? I know the names of 6 of the filers, and wonder what…
Sondra Tompkins on KUDO 1080am With CC. (Live blogging)
So, if you’re catching Wayne Anthony Ross with Eddie Burke at 4 (see last post), here’s a good setup for political whiplash! Cutting Edge host CC will speak with Sondra Tompkins about her ethics complaint against Governor Sarah Palin at 5pm Alaska time, (6pm Pacific, 9pm Eastern). Stream it live HERE. Call 907-569-1080 ******************************* Tompkins says Palin should be focused on the job at hand. A lot of what she’s done lately could be construed as mmonlighting. Some compare what she’s done with other governors. Tony Knowles, for instance, was gone more during the session. Tompkins says none of their travels…
Ethics Complaint Filed Against Sarah Palin for “Misuse of Official Position”
This just in… PRESS RELEASE: APRIL 22, 2009: An ethics complaint against Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be filed this afternoon asserting that Palin’s involvement with SarahPAC constitutes “outside employment” and “misuse of official position.” Anchorage resident Sondra Tompkins, child disability advocate and mother of a special needs child, is filing the complaint after observing Governor Palin repeatedly display “a pattern of unethical behavior.” Sondra believes that the tipping point for her was Sarah Palin’s most recent abdication of her role as Governor and apparent conflict-of-interest when she spoke at two outside events in Indiana rather than work with…
Palin Explains Ross’ Defeat – It’s the Bloggers, Stupid.
We all know that Governor Palin was quite taken with the idea of having Wayne Anthony Ross as her new Attorney General. He apparently had all the things Alaskans look for in a candidate for the head of the Department of Law. “I believed I knew what Alaskans wanted when I selected an individual who is a strong backer of 2nd Amendment rights, a staunch supporter of the state Constitution and a defender of life,” Governor Palin said. “Wayne Anthony Ross supports responsible, ethical development of Alaska’s rich resources. And we all know that for the first time ever, a…
Bedtime in Alaska – Daily Roundup
Trees Sighted on the Lower Yukon! When Rep. Mike Kelly (R) from Fairbanks suggested that if people in rural villages were cold, they should just “cut wood,” people in villages like Emmonak might have been scratching their heads, wondering about the secret location of all this wood. But now, Nunam Iqua resident Ann Strongheart has discovered trees right in the bustling heart of downtown Nunam Iqua. I’ll bet that purple one will burn real good. And if they run out of food again, and get hungry, I hear that there are lots of unicorns that hang out in the…
Palin’s New Attorney General Pick – Caribou Ken?
From the moment Sarah Palin got dubbed “Caribou Barbie” back in September of ’08, I have thought of Lt. Governor Sean Parnell as “Caribou Ken”. Why not Todd as Caribou Ken? He’s too involved. Ken was never part of the action… He was just sort of a vague presence. Kind of a shadowy blonde sidekick that never really did much except sit in the passenger seat of the pink convertible “dream car” and smile. He has recently come out with his very own newsletter…I’ll have to dig it up and see what he’s been doing. But the latest rumors seem…
Palin’s Future in the GOP.
After the deep, dreamless, recuperative shut-eye that was the inevitable result of the brutal Legislative session that ended yesterday, I awake to this on Politico: “Is Palin the Rev. Jackson of the GOP?” (balls up fists and rubs eyes furiously, blinks and checks again) “Is Palin the Rev. Jackson of the GOP?” Yup, I read that right. (runs to get coffee, comes back and reads) This article is a good one. It talks about Palin’s role in the GOP, now that she’s proved herself to be completely unfit for the nation’s highest office. Not only is it chock full of…
